TW: Homophobia, strong language, abuse
"I got two tickets for Sectionals so you can come and watch" Blaine tells exited when he comes back home from school. It's a little more than three weeks before his first competition but Blaine is nervous and he wanted to be prepared so he already bought the tickets.
He and his mom still go strong but Blaine more and more gets the feeling that things with his dad are getting worse. Robert started drinking more Blaine just doesn't know if it is because of him, because he wants to or if there's another reason behind it.
"Thank you. I'll be there. Promise" Pam says and puts the two tickets away safely. Her husband just laughs "You really think I'd come and watch a group of gays dance around on stage, feeling like superstars?". "Robert your son is performing" Pam reminds him but he snorts "Yeah. He's one of those fags. Is this a punishment or what?". He rolls his eyes and leaves to go to the kitchen where he pours himself another whiskey. Mother and son take a look at each other, knowing they better should stay quiet.
"Wes wants to come over tomorrow so we can practice" Blaine changes the topic. "I don't know if that's a good idea Blaine. I have a business dinner and won't be home" Pam says worried. "Who wants to come over?" Robert asks as he comes back with his refilled glass. "Wes. We want to practice" Blaine repeats confidentally. "Oh no that's out of question" his father immediatly says. "But why? We just want to practice and maybe study a bit. I don't have a tutoring session tomorrow. I checked it" Blaine asks. Robert empties his glass quickly before answering before answering with a raised voice "one fag under this roof is enough!".
"He's straight dad! He has a girlfriend" Blaine conters. "Why is he in a fucking show choir then? I thought you're all a bunch of fags. I told your mom I'm not okay with that but she protected you with her whole heart" Robert says. He slurs. He's drunk and angry. Dangerous combination Blaine knows that. "I would be happy if youcome but I don't expect you to" he then says and goes up to his room, locking the door behind him. Just in case.
Dear Kurt
I'm getting really exited for Sectionals but also kinda nervous. You can be glad that yours is a week after mine. You have more time to prepare yourself but we're in the middle of an intense practice week. I'm happy when I get off that stage without tripping or dying.
Do Carol and Burt come to watch you and Finn?
Wes wanted to come over tomorrow to study and practice but mom will be out and dad at home and he got pretty angry. He's against this whole glee club thing because it's too gay for him. I guess Wes and I will meet at his place or reschedule.
Do you and Finn practice together?
Love Blaine
Dear Blaine
One week longer to prepare but also one week longer waiting while we see, hear or read about other Glee Clubs and getting insecure. Sometimes you think we're good, we'll rock this and then you see others and think they are awesome and we either start to practice 24/7 or we won't stand a chance.
Dad and Carol cleared their schedules at our first ompetition last year but had to work at regionals. If they don't have to work they come this yearand if not we at least celebrate later at home.
Sounds like a serious situation with your dad. How drunk was he? Are you okay?
Yes Finn and I practice together quiteoften because Finn isn't the best at dancing so we practice mostly practice the dancing at home but also the singing.
Did you and Wes get to practice?
Love Kurt
It's two weeks before Sectionals and Blaine is once again alone at hoe with his faather. His mother has an important client at the moment so she'sout on a business dinner again.
"Blaine Devon Anderson stop!" Blaine hears his father yell. He just wanted to get something for dinner from the kitchen and lock himself back in his room but he wasn't arefull enough. "Yes dad?" he asks and goes to the living room. "I want you to leave that silly show choir. Your mom can't stand up for you now and I am still the man in this household!" his dad says, no slurs. "But I like it there and Sectionals are only in two weeks" Blaine whines. He doesn't want to get in a fight with his dad but he also doesn't want to quit. Kurt and the Warblers are the two things that make him the happiest.
"I don't care about a stupid competition. I want you to leave that gay club. A friend of mine has a beautiful daughter your age and you will get to know her!" Robert says but his sonshakes his head "I don't like girls that way dad. If you like it or not you can't change it!". "As long as you live in this house you're not gay and you will take that girl out on a date. I'll give you the details this weekend now go and bring me another beer and then get out of my eyes" the man says.
It's a bad idea and Blaine knows it but he's too angry to think logical. He shakes his head "No!". "What was that?" Robert asks in disbelieve. "I said no. I'm your son not a servant so I won't get you a beer. Get it yourself or leave it" Blaine says, not moving an inch away. "You don't say no to me!" Robert yells. He's furious. "I just did" Blaine should stop but his feeling against hisdad took over. There's no going back anymore. "Yes and that was a big mistake boy! Last chance. Apologize and get me a beer!" Robert yells. He towers over his son but the boy doesn't move an inch.
"Okay that's it!" the man slurs an before Blaine can react his father slaps him across the face. The curly haired boy stands there in shock about what just happened. "Go up to your room before something else happens fag" the Anderson man says and Blaine nods obediently. He turns around and rus up to his room. Locking the door behind him he double checks if it's really closed. What did just happend? Blaines right cheek burns and tears run down his face. No. This isn't true. It can't be. That didn't happen. But it did. He hopes it's just a bad dream while changing in his pj's and laying down. With the minutes passing Blaines sobs turn into hiccups and the tears start to dry on his heeks. And just like that he falls asleep.
