Welcome back! I hope you enjoy this Chapter as well!

TimeTraveller-1900: Glad you like it :) Also, I know I could've made it clear about Valka, but I didn't think it all the way through.

Anyway, on to the Chapter!

Chapter 8

When Hiccup and Toothless returned from their first "raid", since they only killed one, it wasn't an actual raid; they got to work storing their loot. While going through the stuff they brought back, Hiccup was deep in thought, and Toothless could see it. "What are you thinking about?" he asked curiously. Hiccup looked at him and said, "I was thinking about making myself some armor. I know with your training that I probably won't even get close to being hit, but I think it would also work as a way of intimidating the people. Especially if the armor has the right design." The dragon thought about it. He knew what Hiccup said was true, but how could he make a standard armor intimidating? Suddenly he got an idea. With an excited grin, he turns to the boy. "I think I know of a way to make your armor look more intimidating. What if you put some scales from me on it? This way, you would look like a walking shadow, and they could help against fire." Hiccup's eyes lit up when his brother told him that. "That's an amazing idea, bud!" Hiccup shouts while hugging the scaly neck.

Hiccup took some leather and walked to his forge when everything was put away. Arriving there, he sets down the material and looks at Toothless, carrying a bucket full of shed scales. There were few scales since they came here a while ago, but it'll do for now. Taking a few scales, Hiccup thought about how he would apply them to the leather. Deciding that it would be better to make the armor first, he stores the scales and starts working on some blueprints.

After two hours of working on blueprints, he designed an entire armor for him. Of course, he would modify and change it later, but for now, it's enough. Taking some leather, he starts working on the mask. The design is simple but will have the desired effect. It will cover his whole face, only leaving holes for the eyes. The eyehole would have a dark net with little holes so they couldn't see his eye color but would allow him to look through it with enhanced sight. The back of the helmet is designed to cover his entire hair with extra cover going around to the front. He adds a leather strip under his chin for safety measures, which will help keep the helmet from falling off. Hiccup adds another safety measure so that the chin holder would only open if he uses a claw from Toothless to open a lock. Toothless, of course, was more than happy to help him with that. On the top of the helmet were three lines of small nubs, like on Toothless's head, going from the front to the back. One line goes down the middle, the other runs to the right, and the other to the left.

Putting the finished helmet down, he needs to think of a way to put on the dragon scales. Looking outside at the little hole left in the roof, he notices how late it is. Putting away his blueprints, he goes to their sleeping chamber with the dragon trudging behind him. Reaching their room, Toothless heated the floor, lied down, and motioned for Hiccup to join him. Hiccup obliged, not minding the comfort his brother gave him; they let sleep take them.

(The following day)

Waking up, Hiccup saw nothing but darkness. He smiled and patted the scaly body he was lying on, telling him he was awake. "Can't we sleep in?" Toothless asked sleepily, opening his eye half to look at the boy. "Nope. I need to work on the armor so we can return to the village next week and make ourselves known." Hiccup told him. The dragon only grumbled in reply. "Is the big mighty Nightfury too lazy to get up and go eat?" the boy asked. The dragon's head immediately perked up, wide awake at the mention of food. "Let's get going before I change my mind." Toothless told him. Hiccup jumped into the saddle, and they both shot out of their cave.

After they got something to eat, they found themselves in the forge again, staring at the scales. "Can't you just sew them on there?" Toothless asked. Hiccup answered, "Of course, I could, but the problem is that I don't think it would hold for long. Can't we melt them?" I don't know. It could work if we combined my fire with Nadder's fire." Toothless said, doing the dragon version of a shrug. "Damnit! Now I regret killing that Nadder we met in the woods.!" Hiccup said, punching his work table. "We could always try to find another one and make it do it for us." Toothless suggested. "Alright. Let's try it." With a plan made up, they left their home and began searching the island.

(Half an hour later)

They almost searched the complete island but didn't find any dragon. They were about to give up when a roar rang through the air. Looking in the direction where the cry came from, they saw a minor fire burning. Flying closer, they can see two dragons fighting. A Nadder and a Monstrous Nightmare. The Nightmare was winning, by the looks of it. "Bud, we need to kill that Nightmare before it kills the Nadder, and we need it." Hiccup told Toothless. Nodding, they both dived toward them, building up the famous whistling of the Nightfury. The fighting dragons looked up just in time when a blue flame hit the Nightmares wing grounding it. The shot dragon let out a cry of agony and pain. Jumping from his dragon, Hiccup lands on top of the Nightmare's head. Pushing his sword through its skull, the dragon goes limb and drops to the ground.

The Nadder looked at both of them with fear. It was fighting the Nightmare with all its strength but couldn't come close to winning. And this boy and the Nightfury killed it in just seconds. Knowing it couldn't win this fight, it lowers its head in a sign of submission. Seeing this, Hiccup smiles. That was good that it feard them. Walking toward it with Toothless, who was snarling at the Nadder, he talked to it, "I know that you can understand me. I have a job for you, and you will do it or die. Understood?" he asks in a cold yet calm voice. The Nadder, seeing that it had no other option, just nodded and followed them.

When they reached the forge, they told the Nadder what to do. Putting the scales on a stone slab, he told both dragons to start heating them. They heated them for about 5 minutes when Hiccup told them to stop. Walking over, he could see that the scales indeed started to melt, not enough to be like water but enough so that he could put it on his helmet. Painting the helmet only took about ten minutes, and when he was done, he put it down. Turning to the Nadder, he says, "You will stay on this island since we will need you again, but if you tell anyone that we live here, we will not hesitate to give you a slow and agonizing death." The Nadder didn't want to test them before it flew off.

Returning to his helmet, he sees that it has cooled down, so he starts putting some wool in it so it wouldn't be uncomfortable to wear. Picking it up, he puts it on. It was light and not uncomfortable. He could perfectly see through the dark nets in the eyes. Toothless looked at him proudly, "You certainly look terrifying in that thing. I can't wait to see you in your full armor." Toothless told him. "Thanks, bud. But I couldn't have done it without your help." Hiccup says. Taking off the helmet and trying the security lock, he got to work on the rest of the armor.

(Two weeks later)

Finishing the armor only took two days, but painting it took longer since they ran out of scales quickly. When they completed the armor, they tested how much it could stand against. What they found shocked them. Not only was it indeed fireproof, but it also kept the heat out of the armor. Another thing that they found out was that the hardened scales were tough. When Hiccup tried to slice it with his sword, it didn't even leave a scratch. He also painted his sheats for the blades to match his outfit.

Now they were ready to go back to the village they were before. Hiccup knew that they would try to kill him, but he was planning on killing them all but one barely alive who would spread the word. Taking place in Toothless saddle, he told him to go.

On the way there, a thought came to the dragon, "Hiccup, how are you going to call yourself? You need a name which people can spread around and makes them shiver." Hiccup just smiled and patted him, "I came up with one. It's simple but should do the desired effect." "And will you tell me?" the dragon asked. "Death Angel." was all that Hiccup said with a smirk. "I like it." The rest of the flight talked about how they would take them down.

(The village)

It was already getting dark when they arrived, which was perfect for them. Landing, they looked around, seeing that the village looked abandoned. The only light was coming from the great hall. Making their way toward it, they could hear people whispering about how they would surround him once he entered the hall and attack him. Hiccup couldn't help but chuckle hearing this. He loved his senses; it made everything so much easier.

Entering the hall, they saw one person standing before the fireplace, holding an axe over his shoulder. The person spoke in a low, hate-filled voice, "You killed my father. Robbed my people, and you dare set foot here again?" Hiccup looked unimpressed and asked with a bored voice, "So you're the new chief, and I killed your father? Who are you anyway?" The stranger was fuming with rage. "My name is Hakon Trond! And I will avenge my father and rid the world of your demon!" he shouted while behind Hiccup; the rest of the villagers blocked the way out. Looking around, he could see about 30 people, including Hakon.

Looking at Hakon, Hiccup could see that he wasn't so sure of his actions due to the calm behavior of Hiccup, and the armor didn't help too. "Feel free to try if you think you can kill me. But be aware that your entire village will die if you fail." Hiccup said in a tone that sent a shiver down everyone's spine while unsheathing his swords. Hakon charged at him with a battle cry and axe held high.

Bringing the axe down, he only met stone. Hiccup sidestepped when Hakon reached him and kicked him in the side. The chief flew a few feet, landing on the ground with a painful grunt. Standing up, he looked at the masked warrior, "You may be strong, but it's my destiny to kill you, and I will fulfill it." he said and charged again. Hiccup brought up his right sword to block the axe. He didn't even struggle when the weapons clashed. Looking Hakon in the eyes, he said in a low whisper, "You can't kill something already dead." Swinging his left sword, he made a deep cut in Hakon's left leg, making him stumble back and hold his leg in pain. "You will never be able to protect these people. You failed them just as much as you failed your father." Hiccup taunted. With another battlecry, Hakon charged at Hiccup, bringing his axe from the right side. The axe hit its target. Hakon smirked, thinking he had won, but his smirk faded when Hiccup started to laugh. Looking at where his axe hit, he could see that there wasn't even a scratch. The next thing he knew was an immense pain where his right hand was. Hiccup used the distraction to bring his sword down, cutting off Hakon's hand. Hakon fell on his knees, clutching his stump and crying out in pain. Before he could even say anything, a blade stuck through his chest.

The rest of the village watched in shock as their new chief got killed by the same boy who killed their last. Wanting to avenge their fallen leader, they charged at Hiccup. Toothless, who was now watching with no care in the world, shot a blast at the first line of them, killing three instantly and injuring another five. Hiccup, in the meantime, blocked the attack of another two. Rolling to the side, he made them stumble and managed to cut their legs, causing them to fall. Not wasting a second, he jumped back up and plunged his swords through each of their backs. They fought for about five minutes till 25 people were dead, four were slowly dying, and one man was injured but able to survive.

Turning to the survivor, he approached him. The man looked at him with fear and asked, "Who are you?" Hiccup kneels and looks him in the eyes, "I'm the Death Angel, and you will spread the message." Picking the man up, he brings him down to the port and throws him on a ship. The survivor had one last question, "What is the message?" Hiccup smirked under his mask, "Tell everyone I'm coming for all of you. No one will be safe." With that, he left the port.

(The village plaza)

When Hiccup met up with Toothless, he got told that the last one had bled out in the hall. Looking around, he saw the houses and knew the children were probably hiding there. "We still have a job to finish, bud. There are still some left alive." Hiccup told the dragon. "You sure you can kill children?" Toothless asked. He knew he could do it but wanted to know if Hiccup could live with it. "No one showed us mercy, and now we will show no one mercy." he said coldly. "Alright, how do you want to go about it?" Toothless asked, looking at his brother. "You will start burning down the buildings with them still inside; if they try to run, shoot them. I will go into the houses and start dragging them out where I cut them down individually. When the last one is dead, we will burn the rest of the structures down and leave it behind." Hiccup explained while walking toward the first house. Kicking the door open, he saw two children around ten years old hiding behind a table. Trotting to them, he picked them by their arms and dragged them outside. When he left the building, he threw them on the ground. He silenced the kids ' cries with a quick swipe of his sword.

Meanwhile, Toothless was aiming at the first house. Aiming his shot, he let the plasma blast loose. It went straight through the door and exploded in the center of it, making the building engulfed in flames in seconds. He could hear the child's screams, which ended when the house collapsed. Turning to the next place, he saw a child running out of the house, trying to save himself. Aiming at the kid, he let the next shot loose, hitting the girl in the back and killing her instantly. He still burned the house down.

After 30 minutes of slaughtering and burning down houses, no soul was left alive, and no building was still intact. Saddling up, they both left a burning and dead village behind.

I know it was pretty dark, but I already said it would get dark in this story, and I'm a man of my word. Let me know if you like it, and see you next time!
