Just a small update, I did not abandon it i'm still working on it...it's very hard to find the time to write nowadays. This has been on my pc for a while, made a quick edit. thank you for reading as always.
Beneath the enigmatic Mystery Shack and at the core of the fractured portal, the silhouette of what appeared to be Rei Ayanami stood before Dipper and Pacifica.
"Golgotha Object?" Dipper's voice trembled with curiosity.
"Through the Doors of Guf—nestled deep within the Anti-Universe—a realm exists where the threads of Fate itself can be rewoven and altered. That realm is embodied by the Golgotha object."
"But what do you want with it?" Dipper asked, but she simply ignored him looking instead to the portal.
"Can you fix this machine?" Rei-Lilith inquired, and before Dipper could answer.
"Why?" Pacifica entered the conversation, ignoring Rei's question. "And what did you do with those pilots...Shinji and Asuka? Where are they?"
"They're not too far from here," Rei-Lilith disclosed.
"And Mabel?" Dipper's voice quivered with concern, desperate to learn of his sister's whereabouts.
"She departed," Rei responded calmly, "existing in my world...or rather, a version of it that has already unfolded."
Rei-Lilith strolled towards the portal, her fingers brushing its edges with a delicate touch.
"It seems my power is circumscribed. I cannot return to my realm. and yet... I could transport those Lilin there...The pilots Soryu and Ikari remain tethered to your world; something obstructs my abilities."
"Wonder what it could be." Dipper said in an undertone.
"Yeah, that's all interesting and what not, but I'd rather you bring Mabel and her friends back." Pacifica spoke up. "and those other two 'pilots', If you had to get back to your world so badly you could've just told us, there was no need to kidnap them."
"Forgive me," Rei acknowledged, "I awoke in this realm devoid of comprehension about my predicament. My strength wanes incessantly, an erosion that persists. Should I not retrace my steps to my realm, a part of me may fade into nothingness."
"A part of you?" Dipper asked
"Yes," Rei-Lillith affirmed, "the avenue back to my world requires the repair of this apparatus, and the utilization of the Golgotha object to reshape my realm's destiny, by doing so I will have obliterated all that has transpired here."
"Such big words." Pacifica commented. "So basically - you're asking for our help?"
"Yes," Rei-Lilith replied, her tone unwavering. "With the Golgotha object, I can return your allies and mend my realm, alongside the pilots Soryu and Ikari."
Pacifica looked to Dipper, who looked curious and intrigued, but also weary.
"How do we know you won't pull a fast one on us?" Dipper asked.
"I do not understand." she said.
"You're a trans-dimensional being right?" Dipper said, "So meaning you can manipulate reality and all that junk...the last time we ran into one of those we got our whole town sucked into a whole weird Armageddon mess."
"Weird-armageddon?" Rei arched her eyebrows.
"Yes." Dipper answered, "So how do we trust you? You already took Mabel and her friends to god knows where, and now you expect us to just fix the portal and do what you say."
Rei's impassive expression revealed no empathy or guilt, leaving Dipper and Pacifica to speculate.
"Please," she implored, "had I intended to deceive, I would have manipulated you into repairing it yourselves, as I have before."
"Wait, what?" Pacifica interjected, but Rei ignored her.
"Now I beseech, driven by my frailty," Rei continued.
"You see what does that even mean?" Pacifica said, "Speak normal English."
"I am." Rei replied.
"No you are not." Pacifica retorted.
"Look Begging us still won't be enough, I need to know you won't do something behind our backs." Dipper said.
Rei's gaze shifted to both of them, analysing the gravity etched onto their countenances. To an extent, she felt attuned to the currents of their thoughts.
"Very well, then," she acquiesced, extending her hand with an elegant gesture that summoned forth a metamorphic crimson bident.
Dipper's voice was tinged with curiosity, "What's that?" However, before he could fully grasp the situation, the spear surged toward him.
"Whoa!" Dipper instinctively braced himself, but Pacifica acted swiftly, seizing the weapon.
"The hell!" Dipper yelled.
"With this, you possess the means to immobilize me at any juncture... even now," Rei articulated. "Do I have your trust now?"
"We're not gonna freaking stab you." Pacifica's retort was brisk.
"By withholding the ability to immobilize me, you permit me unfettered agency, as long as I retain my strength." Rei elucidated. "Yet, should you deem it necessary, you can render me inert and incapacitate my entire function."
"Again with the big words - that's death, we're not murders." Pacifica replied.
"I cannot die." Rei-Lilith's uttered those words with an eerie chill.
In that moment, Dipper and Pacifica exchanged glances before returning their focus to Rei, her expression still an enigmatic void.
"Repair the portal. I shall retrieve Pilots Soryu and Ikari," with those words, she vanished in an ephemeral blink.
Left to their own devices, Dipper and Pacifica confronted their next step.
"What now?" Pacifica's voice resonated with uncertainty.
"We fix the portal," Dipper's response held a determined resolve.
END.
