Ozpin lays his head in his hands; He stares at his desk and wonders why this is happening. Rain falls from the sky, covering the school in a blanket of Darkness that seems to hold everybody in its grasp. After Team JNR and Team CRDL had returned from their missions, when there landed were all dragged into Opzin's office to give a detailed report on what happened. During the mission, Cardin and his team lied and explained that there where fighting grimly, and then out of nowhere, a colossal light filled the sky, reaching toward the heavens and blinding them for what seemed like hours, but it was only a few mins, so there decided to go and figure out what that was when there were an attacked by the massive army of grim, so in brass and in Cardin words, a heroic choice they decided to head back for the airship and hope to get Some backup which the rest of Cardin team agreed and confirmed Cardin story their explained that they bumped into Team JNR and there where not sure what happened to team RWBY but there hope there are alright. Team JNR said the same thing as team CRDL with the light and the grim fighting the army and the Cenitaur.
While this is happening, the Vale police, Investigate the Emerald Forest trying to find team RWBY hopeful alive. The investigation goes almost to the middle of the night when Ozpin gets the call which Ozpin picks up in a flash. "Sir, we found something, but it's not what we were hoping for," the officer says to Opzin, but what he hears almost makes the mask he uses to hide his feelings almost fall off. "All we found were some metal pieces from what looks like the girl's weapons and blood, I'm sorry to say, but I don't think team RWBY is with us anymore," Opzin kept a calm face when speaking to the officer. Still inside, he was screaming and crying, "Thank you, officer" he hung up and leaned back in his chair, wondering if this was another mistake he had made to add to the list; he stared outside as the rain got stronger as he gets himself ready for what he must do next—calling the families of team RWBY and letting the school know that there lost four students.
The morning after Opzin finds out that four of his students are dead, he calls a school-wide meeting to tell them that they lost four students today in the emerald forest and to keep them in their hearts as they keep fighting the forces of Darkness. Most students were sad there lost such a strong huntress, while others didn't know how to feel. PNR was distraught at the fact there lost their friends; Jaune was hit the hardest because he thought he could do more. Cardin acted sad but, on the inside, was happy for what he did; the rest of his team were not as glad as Cardin but kept their mouths shut as there feared what Cardin might do to them. Ozpin sends them all back to class.
Back at the JNPR dorm room, the team cried, stared at the wall, or kept to themselves. Jaune guilt was eating him up, and he thought of what he should have done or fought harder to go back and save rwby. Still, he left with everyone like a coward, and even when Nora and Ren tried to talk to him, he would not answer; Cardin, in his dorm room, was enjoying the fact he got rid of team rwby and even celebrated when no one was around, his teammates left to get some air in vale mostly to get away from Cardin. He sat on his bed blasting music while drinking a soft drink he got from the cafeteria, thankful no one was near team CRDL's room, or so Cardin though
A Chill fills the room as Cardin looks behind him to see the window to his dorm room is open, so he gets up to close it as the music begins to fill with stack, "What the hell going on!" Cardin yells. "Man, you're so damn loud" He turns to face the voice as J sits on his bed as she finishes off Cardin's drink, "J! What the hell are you doing here, and why are you drinking MY Soft drink" Cardin demands J. However, she ignores part of Cardin's question before answering, "Want to check in and make sure our deal is still in place and that you enjoy my gift," she asks, pointing to his mace with the orb placed inside; Cardin smirks at this, says to her "Ya I did! And with it, I be able to gain what I rightfully deserve!" his laugh hard as J keep smiling but add "Aren't you worried someone might find you out" the question cuts Cardin laugh off. He glares down at her. "What does that support to mean, you little bitch!" J gets up and looks right into Cardin's eyes. "I'm saying, what will you do if everyone finds out that you killed team rwby" Cardin angrily grows his eyeing up the mace by his bed. "They won't! Because no one will ever talk!" J smiles and continues, "Don't you think those teammates might talk? Maybe you should get rid of them before there do, Mr. big man" Cardin runs over to his mace and grabs it before running toward J and swinging down his mace, the orb glowing, adding more power to the swing, but J just blocks it with her pinky finger "What the Fuck!" J smiles grows more "Listen up, Ape boy, you better get your act together before it all vanishes in front of your eyes!" She swings her arm as Cardin gets a look at the black arm she has. "What's wrong with your arm," Cardin says, but J ignores the question before asking Cardin what he plans to do if his other team members do talk. "They won't not unless there know what's good for them" he was pissed off at J blocking his attack and confused about the arm. J just shrugged before walking toward the window and opening it before jumping out, vanishing, leaving Cardin alone in the room; he jumped on the bed crossing his arms.
A few days have passed seen the encounter with Cardin and his team; Ruby looks up to see a small light above her fading as she keeps falling into Darkness and chains all around her body. "Where am i? Why am I here? Am I about to die? I guess it's for the best after all; Cardin was right; I did cause this to happen to my team" She lands on the bottom of the Darkness as she, ready to give up but "Don't give up, little Rosebud" a voice fills Ruby mind, "Huh who's there?" asks ruby to the odd voice "don't give up its, not your time yet, please don't give up!" the voice grows louder as a bright light covers ruby "Huh what the what is that light!" she looks up and women in bright light reaches for ruby "don't give up I always l" the voice gets cut off as ruby opens her eyes see the wood lining roof, Ruby grunt as she lifts her head to look around, the room was 12x12 with four medium sided beds each at the four corners of the room which all had ruby teams mates asleep. A single dresser beside the beds seems made of wood with care and by a master working with wood his entire life. As Ruby tries to get up, pain jolts through her entire body. Looking down, she sees both arms are in casts and are now locked together, "wait, why are my arms in a cast?" Suddenly, without warning, her memories returned to her, and she remembered all the things Carter did that day, how she was beaten, attacked, and her teammates left for dead, and how she was thrown off the Cliff to die on that day. She gets up for the door and, using her body, bashes it open as she runs towards the stairs, almost falling at how fast she is going; she is almost to the door when it opens, light filling the room, causing Ruby to jump back. "Ahh, I see you awake good," a voice calls from the light. "Who are you!" as the light fades, a woman is standing there; she looks to be in her 30th with blonde hair which ends with black tips, deep blue eyes and a black short top and shorts; she looks at Ruby with suspicion before talking "Have a seat we need to talk," the women say to ruby. Ruby tries to reach for her Crescent Rose but only grabs at the air. "Your weapon is not here, so please have a seat," she said in a way that is like a mother scolding their child for breaking a rule in the house. Ruby glares at the woman but takes a sit in the chair in the room, which seems to have about five chairs, a dining room table for a small family a kitchen which she can't see very well but can tell it seems to have top of the line items like a fridge and a stove and a tv which seem to be from a time long forgotten "So, you probably have a bunch of questions" she ask ruby who nods "I answer only 3 of your questions" she says to ruby which take ruby by surprise. It leaves her to think about what questions she can ask the weird women; she ponders for a bit as the odd women seem annoyed at waiting. "Well! What are you going to ask? I don't have all day!" Ruby, surprised, stammers out an Apology, which forces her to look at the floor for a moment till, like a lightbulb pops into her head; she coughs and begins to speak, "Ok, so the first question is, who are you?" The woman again narrowed her eyes before answering, "My name is V" Ruby was surprised by this answer as it didn't give much info on her, but she figured she should move on. "Oook, well then, um, next question is, where are we?" V stares for another moment before again answering as if thinking about her answer. "You're in a cabin deep in the Emerald Forest, far from any Society in Vale!" Surprised by this, Ruby runs outside, leaving a trail of rose petals, thanks to her semblance. Standing on the porch, she looks up as gray storm clouds cover the sky; in the distance, she can see Beacon Academy from where she is standing. She stares at her school for what seems like forever till V breaks her trance. "Hey, Kid! You going to stand there all day and get wet, or do you want to come back in" she almost yelled at Ruby. Still, she turned V and looked up at her, tears almost in her eyes, asking V one final question "Why did you save us" V blinked a few times and began to speak as it just began to pour down on them, forcing them back inside. V started her fire and handed Ruby a towel before sitting in her chair. "So kid, to answer your question, I found you a few days ago and," she paused, "Well, I saved you just because I wanted to; that's all," Ruby was about to say something when a voice from the stairs "rubies?" looking over there Yang coming down the stairs behind her is Weiss who is helping down Blake. "Guys! Omg, I'm so glad you alright" WBY laughs a bit as there still a bit tired, but Blake and Yang are not as happy as Ruby is seen. They both lose an arm and a leg but keep it to themselves. "Hey, Ruby, who is the woman," Blake asked, leaning on Yang, "Oh, this is V. She saved us" WBY all thanked V, but she kept silent. "Ya, she's not much of a talker, guys" The girls are weirded out by V but glad that there alive. The girls sit in the living room in silence for what seems like a long time till V broke it. "So girls, what's your plan after your healed" The girls all looked puzzled before Weiss answered, "Head back to school, of course, and make sure Cardin faces justice!" V kind of look at her eyebrow up as she reach for the remote and turn the tv on, the news plays come from it "Our top story tonight" say the report "the bodies of what Beacon called team rwby have not been found but pices of there clothes and weapons were find all around the emerald forest, its believed that the team where attack by a large army of grim which mystery showed up and the officers have called off the search as it seem the girls are now pounced dead, we hope there find peace on the other sided" the realisation hit team RWBY like a ton of bricks, all of vale thinks there dead "but we can just go to Ozbin and explain" Blake says "Ya hhe will understand" Yang speak a mix of anger and sadness filling her voice "we can't" Weiss shadows covering her face as everyone stares at her "why can't we Weiss" ruby ask just as confused as Yang and Blake where "because even if we go back and that's a huge IF it be our word against team CRDL and what would stop them from trying to kill us again and do it right this time, beside how would we explain to everyone how we survived all the grimm" Weiss was right and everyone know it, Yang and Blake wanted to say something but there didn't have much energy to do so, ruby just keep playing the line Cardin say to her "This is all thanks to you, Ruby", her hand clenches from it as she thinks about how this all her fault. "So, then, Weiss, what do you think we should do," Yang asks Weiss, which has Weiss turn to Ruby. "Ruby," she says, but no response. Weiss asks again, but Ruby seems to be off somewhere else till Weiss yells her name, which seems to bring her back. "Huh, I'm sorry, Weiss, I was miles away; did you say something?" Weiss was surprised by this as it seemed Ruby was keeping more secrets again, but she sighed and asked her question again. "You dolt, I ask what you think we should do" She smiled warmly at Ruby, which she smiled back, but it seemed forced. "Well, first, we should heal up before we do anything too rash" Yang and Blake look at each other and then back at Ruby before Yang adds her two cents. "So after we heal, what's our next plan" Ruby looked at her big sister and smiled before saying, "We will cross that bridge when we get there" The girls turned to V, who just said, "You can stay, but you not be sitting around, you be working your butts off!" Yang's eyes turn red "how am I support to work when I have no frisking arm or my kitty cat has no leg!" she screams not noticing Blake face turning red, Weiss is just shaking her head but her sister "Your kitty cat?" Yang stops mid-rant and noise what she said. "That's not what I meant, and you know it, Ruby!" the girls laugh as V lets out a small smile. "I might be able to help you four out, but it comes at a cost," V says as the girls look at her confused, "how can you help them, V?" Weiss adds as V gets up and enter the kitchen. The girls murmur to themselves, wondering what V has to help them.
Back at Beacon, the school is still talking about the death of team RWBY, and their friends from Team CRN are just going to class and trying to do a thing to take their minds off the fact there lost their friend; Ozpin; however, was in his office just looking out his window looking at the storm that is coming. You see, he is getting himself ready for what he is about to do: talking to the parents of Team RWBY. He knows this will be hard to do, but he has to do it as the school's principal. He sighs and begins to call Blake's family. Kali answer with a sniff "Hallo?" Kali, a cat Faunus with black hair and golden eyes, resembles her daughter in many ways, although her ears are notably bigger and have more furry detailing. She has short hair, and two of her right and one of her left cat ears are pierced with gold. She is dressed in sandals with white tabi stockings and a black hakama. She wears a black shrug over her clothing with a gold-leaf trim around the front opening and long right and short sleeves. Her arms warmers are lengthy and black, reaching to her middle finger. The top of the left warmer is fastened with a purple band, and the wrist is adorned with two gold bangles. Her waist is encircled. Ozpin was taken aback by her beauty but figured it would be best not to say anything. "Hallo, Mrs. Belladonna, im sorry to take you away from your grieving, but" he began to say, but Kali cut him off. "No, No, it's ok; just *sniffed* im ok what can I do for you?" She seems to have been crying for either hours or weeks from how red her eyes are. Ozpin figures it is best not to keep her on the call for long "Yes, you see, I'm calling to give you my deepest apologies for what happened to your daughter, and I wish there were something I could do," Kail begins to answer when a deep voice comes into the room "Hun who on the phone" Kali turn to the man as he walks into the screen, it was Kali husband, Ghira. Ghira is a large, hulking Faunus with a thick black beard, yellow eyes, and black hair. He covers a patch of black fur on his breast with an open dark-violet coat with white fur trim. A similar ribbon covering his waist and fastening with a sizable silver clasp is worn over his beige slacks. A silver metal spaulder that attaches as a clasp to the opposite front panel of his coat through two curved strips across the chest is attached to the shoulder of the man's coat. His black leather boots' white toes are shaped like paws with claws at the points. What little can be seen of his body reveals that it is generally fairly hairy, "Yes, you must be Blake's father, Mr. Belladonna I," he was cut off by Ghira with what seemed to be a forced smile which both his wife and Ozpin could tell just by looking at him "Please call me Ghira" he laughs a bit "Pardon me Ghira well I was just speaking to your wife about what happened, and I like to extend my deepest apologies to your family. Both of the Belladonna stay silent for moment till Kali spoke "thank you Ozpin for your words and i hope you can find peace in this like we are trying right now" To most it seem more like kind words but to Ozpin it felt like dagger into him, he felt like the death of the fours girl was his fault, like many of his sins he has done over his long life but his though where cut short when Ghira spoke "Yes thank you for all you done and trying to find out little girl, i just hope she in a better place" Opzin nod as the called ended which forced him to just sigh before pulling up the next number on his list, the next call was to Weiss family. Ozpin wasn't the biggest fan of calling the Schnee family, mostly from all the rumours about them and how the Weiss family is. From what he heard, Weiss's mother never leaves the house, his little brother is the next in line to the Schnee company and takes after his father, their oldest was in the Atlas military working with Ironwood, but the worst was Jacques Schnee, a man, well, most would say he was not a man at all but a coward who thinks he ruler over all but is just a small fry to all around him. Still, Ozpin had to make the call even though he didn't want to. After the 5th ring, an angry man answered and screamed, "WHAT IS IT? I AM VERY BUSY! YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR CALLING OR," Ozpin said calmly but was taken aback at how this Father or so-called father was acting. "Mrs. Schnee, im calling to talk to you about your Daughter Mrs. Weiss" Ozpin began to say, as the screen showed no one for a sec till Weiss's father entered it. Jacques has white, straight hair and a pale complexion. He has chilly blue eyes and a big, thick mustache. He is observed carrying a crimson handkerchief in his breast pocket of a double-breasted, all-white jacket. He is dressed in a light-blue dress shirt, vest, and white clip-on tie, all with the same logo as the items above his desk and on his shoes. On his right hand, he wore a ring in the hue of silver. "Oh yes, my daughter Weiss, yes well, if you could send her stuff back, i make sure it goes to good use," a coldness in his voice as he spoke, which would make anyone glare at him. Still, Ozpin had to keep his mouth shut when speaking to him. As much as he wanted to beat this man with his cane, it wouldn't look good for Vale and Atlas to be at war over this, so keep his words straight to the point. "Yes, well, im calling to send my deepest apologies to your family and the death of your daughter," Ozpin says, but all that is heard is typing from the other side of the call. "Um, Mrs. Jacques?" Ozpin asks, as it seems there is no response from Weiss's dad. "Yes! , Well, death is a normal thing, so if there is nothing else, then goodbye!" a click is heard, and the call ends. Opzin put the phone down and just took a drink from his cup, thinking of how cruel you have to be to say that about your flesh and blood; he just sighed and got ready for the last call with Taiyamg's father to his two daughters Ruby and Yang and Qrow who are ruby and yang uncle and brother to Yang mother raven, their answer after the two rings. Taiyamg seemed to be crying just like Kail did. As for Qrow, he was in Bar somewhere, drinking his pain away. "Hallo?" both ask simultaneously, "Hallo, Mr. Long and Qrow, i hope you are both well," he tries to go at this in a normal tone to his old friends. Taiyang is a man with two little strands of blonde hair poking at the top and blue eyes. He has a soul patch and some sparse stubble around his jawline for facial hair. His logo resembles a heart and is permanently inked on his right arm. In contrast to its former vibrant gold hue, his hair has noticeably grayed as he ages; it is still blond but much less overt. He is dressed in a tan dress shirt with the right sleeve slashed off, brown cargo shorts, a dark brown belt, black shoes, a red bandana on his left arm, and a brown leather vest. He is protected with a metal spaulder, a leather vambrace, and a pair of brown fingerless gloves; Qrow has fading crimson eyes, black hair that is beginning to gray, and a thin beard along his jaw. He is dressed in a gray shirt with a long tail, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and a crimson, torn cloak. The only difference between Qrow and his former colleagues in an earlier photograph was the absence of facial hair. In addition, he sports a ring on his right index finger, two more rings on his right ring finger, and a necklace with a pendant in the form of a crooked cross. Most of the time, Qrow wears his bangs down, although he occasionally pulls them back during battle. In addition, his hair is styled to appear as though it comprises feathers. "Im just peachy Ozpin and you," Qrow says, as it seems he has been drinking for a while. "Im fine too, Ozpin, Just been working to keep my mind off what happened," Tai adds, but both seem to have shut down at this. "I see. Well, im here to send my deepest apologies to your family" Both men stare at Ozpin. "You're sorry? You're sorry! My daughter are dead! because you send them on a dangerous mission! and your sorry!" Tai yells into the screen with Qrow telling him to calm down, but Tai does not and keeps ranting at Ozpin, which doesn't give him a chance to answer, "I lost my family because of you, Ozpin! it's your fault!" The ranting continued until Qrow roared with a "TAI," which surprised everyone. "Look, Tai, I know you are sad and grieving about Ruby and Yang i am too, but you need to get a grip," Tai, angry, was towards his brother-in-law Qrow until he asked Ozpin a question. "Ozpin, you said there never found the bodies, right" Opzen nods. "Ok, so how do you know that the girls are dead?" the room goes silent from this bombshell; Qrow was right about this and begins to think, "How the hell can you say that, Qrow! there find their weapons," Qrow cuts him off. "Tai, think about it, there find pieces of the girl's weapons, so maybe there can still find them" Tai just turns away from the screen. "I can't do this with you," he hangs up, which causes Qrow to sigh. "Im sorry, Ozpin, i talked to him" Ozpin shakes his head at his old friend "No need to worry, Qrow, but i would like you to do something for me. Could you look into the Grimm army for me" Qrow catching what Opzin is saying, nods and hangs up, giving Ozpin a chance to breathe. He turns his chair to face the window once more as it rains. "There's more to this than i thought, and i need to find out what's going on, i just hope she's is not involved in any of this," lighting strike as Ozpin makes his first move.
Mins felt like hours as V did not return with what she said would be the help, Yang and Blake "What is she doing, and why is it taking so long" Weiss chimes in while the girls looked at her shaking their heads as there don't know either. Still, the kitchen fills with the sound of "Find it!" fill it from V. V walks back into the room with a jar and what looks to have a small odd goo of some kind in it, "What is that" Ruby asks. Confused and scared at what it is. Still, V ignores Ruby and asks Yang and Blake, "This stuff will give you back what you lost, but I need something from you all" The girls look at one another, and Yang asks, "What is it you need?" V sit for a moment before speaking, "I can help you all gain the power to take down this Cardin person" The girls stare at V. "Why would you do that" there all say together while V stares at them. "Cardin family and I have some business from the past" RWBY huddle together and speak to each other about what to do; Weiss says she doesn't trust this V person, but Ruby thinks we should give her a chance at least; Yang and Blake not sure what to do.
On the one hand, their arms and legs are back, but on the other, what if that thing in the jar kills them? Ruby adds what if Cardin does this to someone else? And we just sat back and let it happen, which made the other three girls think momentarily. Still, Ruby adds, "That if we don't do it, who will" Yang, whose eyes have turned red, nods at Ruby; Weiss sighs but agrees, while Blake still worries but understands there is no other choice. "Ok then, so V, I like to take you on your offer!" team rwby says. V nods. "Alright then, Goldie, Black cat, come over here" Yang and Blake look confused but walk over to V. V reaches her hand into the jar, grabs a hand full of the Black stuff and rubs some on Yang & Blake where their arm and leg was, after a moment the goo begin to grow out into what looks to be an entirely black arm and leg with claws on the ends which surprised Yang and Blake at first because now there has this new Appendage on them "Oh wow this feels pretty great! It's like having it back," Yang and Blake say together, Ruby jumping between her friends and smiling that their team is back. Still, before Ruby could thank V, Yang throws her arm out like she is throwing something and throws herself across the room; a large bang fills the space with everyone staring. "Im all good!" is heard from where Yang landed. Ruby sigh and ask Blake to get Yang, but like Yang, Blake begin to take a step and falls face-first to the ground. "You ok, Blake" Weiss yells. "Ya, im ok; I just don't seem to be used to this new leg," Blake responded. "Seem the training has begun; when you four are ready, meet me outside," V in her commanding voice says as she heads outside; Ruby and Weiss help Yang and Blake as there head for the door, ready to begin to walk the path of Darkness.
