Lando was chasing after Mikasa who was using her ODM gear to get to where Eren was, after his Titan roared. Lando didn't bother saying anything to her; it would be useless she wouldn't listen. Lando made his way through the trees then Mikasa stopped and Lando stopped on a tree branch up above her, he watched as the female Titan put Eren into her mouth and then ran off. Lando looked at Mikasa who hadn't moved and said.

"Hey, Mikasa you gonna stay like that while she runs away with him?" Lando asked.

"Eren…wait….don't…go…" Mikasa said.

Then she snapped out of it flying at speeds almost as quick as Lando when he got serious. They caught up with the Titan and Mikasa did a slow spin attack slicing the side of her mouth, and Lando spun and sliced her MCL in her arm, crippling it. Mikasa then turned around in the air slicing the back of her calf, and Lando was in front of her and she reached out her arm to try and grab him but Lando dodged it going between her fingers then using gas got behind her. Lando and Mikasa were now both behind her and Mikasa did a slow spinning attack slicing the back of her calf and Lando spun at Levi's speed slicing her Achilles tendon in the other leg causing her to fall as her hand covered her nape. Mikasa went in for the attack as did Lando but when Mikasa went for the killing blow her hand turned blue and deflected the attack. Lando still tried but his sword broke as did Mikasa's. Lando and Mikasa then used their hooks to stay on a tree.

"Why won't my blades penetrate?" Mikasa said with desperation.

"Don't know but right now we gotta get that liability out of her mouth, even if he is dead. " Lando said.

The female Titan then turned her head to look at them.

"I know that…" Mikasa said. "He is still alive.."

"I know that Eren's alive!" Mikasa said. "No matter where she goes I'll kill her, rip her apart, and get you out of that filth. I'm sorry Eren…..Just wait a little longer…."

Lando replenished his blades but then the Titan tried to punch them before running off.

"I forgot they regenerated!" Lando thought.

But then they were both grabbed by something. Lando looked up to see his dad carrying him with his right hand and Mikasa with his left hand.

"What are you….?" Mikasa said.

"Fall back for now," Levi said.

"Too late for that now…" Lando said.

Levi let them both go and they followed him.

"Maintain this distance," Levi said. "It may be tired. It does not appear to be going very fast. He seems to have been bit right out of the neck. Is Eren dead?"

"Eren is alive," Mikas said. "The target seems intelligent and intent on taking Eren away. It'd crush him if it wanted to kill him. Instead, it's fighting and running away with him in his mouth."

"Eating Eren could be her goal," Levi said. "If so, he's in her stomach. Which means he's probably dead."

"He's alive," Mikasa said.

"She also has some ability that turns a body part blue and we can't cut through it with our swords," Lando said.

"She showcased it earlier," Levi said. "Let's hope he is alive."

"This never would've happened in the first place had you actually protected Eren!" Mikasa said.

"What your mouth Mikasa! Before I make you." Lando said he could stand a lot of things but not that.

"Ah. you're the one who… You're Eren's childhood friend. Let's narrow our goals down to one. First, forget about taking her down." Levi said.

"She's killed so many of our comrades!" Mikasa said.

"It's impossible, she has the ability to harden her skin," Levi said. "Do as I say. We're going to set all our hopes on Eren being alive and rescue him before she leaves the forest. I'll do the cutting you guys distract her."

Lando and Mikasa went ahead of Levi, Mikasa was staying just in front of her and Lando was flying all around her head but she was only focused on Levi. The female Titan turned around and threw a punch at Levi but he spun, slicing up the arm before jumping and plunging his swords into the Titan's eyes. Levi then started to fly all over, slicing all over her body and she fell against the tree. Levi kept it up flying all over at great speed slicing all her tendons it seemed, Mikasa, being the impulsive person she is thought she saw an opening and was going to try and free Eren but as she did the Titan reached up and tried to grab her Levi flew in and pushed her out the way and as he did Lando saw him twist his ankle and his face went into pain. Lando was pissed Mikasa had once again gotten someone hurt or dead because of her obsession with Eren and this time it wasn't just someone it was Levi, Lando's dad. Lando then started spinning toward the Titan at speeds as fast as Levi then he cut her jaw causing it to fall open, Lando then turned around got into the Titan's mouth, and grabbed Eren before flying away and landing on top of a tree branch Lando looked around and saw Mikasa being held by her hook on a tree and Levi on another branch trying to hide his ankle pain.

"Eren!" Mikasa said.

Lando turned at her and stared at her with a death glare from Mikasa and Levi's point of view Lando's face was shadowed and all you could see were his eyes and he was zoned in on Mikasa.

"Time to go!" Levi said.

"He is alive," Lando said with spite. "He is filthy but alive."

"Forget about her," Levi said. "We need to withdraw. Don't lose sight of what this operation is about. Is wallowing in self-indulgence more important? He's a dear friend to you, isn't he?"

Levi said as he and Lando took off. Lando turned around and saw Mikasa following but he saw the female Titan crying. Lando looked at his dad and he saw it too, Lando hoped she suffered for what she did. The three of them took off through the forest until they got back with the rest of the scouts and Lando was instructed to put Eren onto a carriage so he did so. Lando was standing around thinking about it but then he saw his dad standing over his squad's bodies so he walked over to him.

"I do not know if you were close to the members of your squad but you have my sympathy." Lando said.

Levi looked at him before looking down at the bodies.

"Isn't the first time this has happened," Levi said.

Lando didn't say anything before kneeling in front of Levi and inspecting his ankle.

"I saw that you twisted your ankle. I know a decent amount about how to treat injuries." Lando said he had taken too many hits emotionally today if he could just fix his dad's ankle and talk to him. But as he grabbed Levi's ankle he kicked Lando in the face.

"Don't touch me brat…" Levi said he had just lost his squad and this kid is trying to treat his ankle.

But that was the final straw for Lando today and he did something that nobody has seen in 7 years, he got emotional.

"Why…Why dont you remember!? Why do you keep leaving me behind like this?! What did I do to you?! What am I supposed to do?! What did I do wrong?! I don't understand! Why do you hate me so much?!" Lando said as a few tears streamed down his face.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Levi said. "Who said I hate you brat? Get out of my sight."

Lando did as told and walked over to where Armin and Jean were on the wagon and started to help them if he did things he could get his mind off his dad.

"This is the one thing I'll never get used to…" Jean said as he loaded up a body.

"I doubt anyone could," Armin said.

Lando tossed up a body on the cart.

"Except him." Jean mumbles

Lando ignored that remark he wasn't in the mood.

"After this…" Jean says. " Got me thinking how my comrades are going to die…..How I'm going to die ... .That's all I start to think about…."

"I try not to think about it at all," Armin said. "Because if I started picturing my own death, I'd probably lose the ability to fight…"

"Erwin did say we'd have a 70% chance of dying, people will die, do your best to make sure you're not one of them. That's all we can do." Lando said.

"Yeah," Jean says. "You're both exactly right."

The three of them finished putting the final bodies on the cart then Erwin ordered them to do a tactical movement away from the forest. Lando and the others mounted up and followed orders, Lando, Jean, and Armin were riding alongside the cart carrying the bodies.

Then someone yelled. "Titans!"

Lando turned to see one guy followed by two Titans that were running at them.

"It's about to catch up with us!" Armin said.

"We're going to have to fight!" Jean says.

"ODM can't accomplish much on flat ground," Armin said. "Plus, look. They just keep coming."

Lando looked at where Armin was and saw even more Titans running after them, Lando was fed up with these Titans.

Lando then looked at the Titans closing in.

"We need to…" Armin said.

"Dump those bodies." Lando finished.

Eventually, the Scouts dumped the bodies.

With Eren and Mikasa.

"Eren!" Mikasa said.

Eren awoke to see that he was in the back of a wagon injured. Eren tried to get up but he was too weak.

"You shouldn't get up yet. You need to rest." Mikasa said.

"Where is the female Titan?!" Eren said.

"She got away," Mikasa said.

"Why?" Eren said. "Why did everyone ... .? What about the operation."

"It failed," Mikasa said. "You need to rest for now."

Eren looked down and had a scout cloak as a makeshift blanket.

"How did I get this?" Eren asked. "Did you save me again?"

Mikasa ignored the question; she couldn't admit that it hadn't been her that saved Eren.

"We're almost to the wall now," Mikasa said.

Back with Lando.

The Scouts had just got back to the city, and there was a crowd of people there.

"Is it me, or are there fewer than this morning?" Lando heard someone say.

"A lot fewer." Lando heard another say.

"Another bad one…" A civilian said.

"They left this morning shouting and roaring, and now they're already back?" A civilian said.

"What did they even leave for?" A civilian yelled.

"Beats me." Another said.

"But from the brutal looks on their faces….I'd say they succeeded in pouring our tax money down the drain." A civilian said.

Lando had to agree with that one Commander Erwin accomplished nothing today, didn't capture the Titan, and had now lost Eren.

Lando was on his horse riding through the city and saw a man start talking with his dad and he ignored him, the man even looked relieved to see him. Who was this man? What did he have to do with his dad? Too many questions far too few answers.

Everyone had grasped that no one was going to talk from the scouts so they started to yell. How Lando hated people who yelled, and he'd admit that he does it sometimes but all everyone does is yell nowadays.

"Commander Erwin!" A civilian yelled. "Please answer us!"

"Were the gains from this expedition worth the number of lives lost?!" A woman yelled.

"Do you honestly believe the soldiers died with no regrets?!" Someone yelled.

The costs and casualties incurred by this latest exterior operation dealt a heavy blow enough to destroy the Scout Regiment's support. Erwin and the others in charge found themselves summoned to the capital and ordered to hand over Eren.

Chapters will be released slower because I am back in school and I work a job. Expect 2-4 day breaks in between chapters if there will be a longer break I will tell you.

I finished this chapter on the 14th but I forgot to upload it.
