A/N Here's a really long chapter ;)
It had been a few days since my fight with my ex-girlfriend Paige and since my entire friend group got back together. It hasn't been easy though, people keep staring and whispering whenever we walk down the hallways of rosewood high.
Although, Ali has been nothing but kind and sweet to us. I could tell that she's grown up alot over the past year. But as for A, the person that's torturing has been silent. Although things can change any moment.
We were all sitting around Ali's living room and binge watching Gossip Girl and stuffing our faces with popcorn, candy, chips and soda.
We have been suggesting that we hang out at Ali's house since we weren't allowed to be friends with her. If our parents found out, we would be done for.
When the binge watching session officially came to an end. We all helped clean her house and get ready to place our sleeping bags on the floor.
It was already towards the end of September, the night air was cool and crisp. It was still warm enough for a night and as per Alison's suggestion, we enjoy a late night walk.
"C'mon let's go girls," Alison took out her pink flashlight before placing the light on her face. "We'll tell ghost stories. It'll be fun"
We all took our jackets and placed it ourselves. Alison threw the front door open and led us outside.
We all walked, laughed and told each other ghost stories. "We definitely need to go to a haunted house," Aria suggested.
"Maybe we can go trick or treating," Hanna chirped happily.
Alison's eyes darted at Hanna and scoffed at the idea "What are you 12?"
Hanna shrugged. "Free candy is free candy"
"I second that!" Aria agreed. "Halloween is my favorite holiday"
Before Spencer and I could respond, we heard the bushes moving.
"Did you hear that?" Spencer asked, checking our surroundings.
"I knew we shouldn't have been walking out this late at night." Hanna complained. "It's creepy."
"Oh don't be such a wuss," Alison laughed. "You are going to be fine."
In a matter of a few seconds, a dark figure with a black hoodie and a mask grabbed Alison. The three of us opened our mouths in shock.
The dark figure held Alison's body tightly and covered her face and threw her to the ground.
"Ali" We all screamed.
I ran towards her, but it was too late, the figure threw a rock and slammed against her forehead. Within a few seconds, Ali stopped fighting back and I saw her body relax on the floor. When the figure saw me, it ran away. I began running towards the figure. Suddenly, it stopped and moved closer. I regretted my actions and started walking backwards
I inhaled a nervous breath. It shoved me to the ground and started choking me.
"Get away from her!" I could hear Spencer's angry shout.
I could feel myself getting dizzy and blacked out.
"Wake up!" I could feel someone shaking my body.
I opened my eyes, my vision blurry. I felt nauseous and my neck felt sore."
When my vision cleared, I realized it was Spencer. "Are you okay?"
I coughed violently, touched my neck and tears started to spill out of my eyes. "W-what happened?"
"Alison's hurt," Spencer answered.
I felt more awake and ready to be conscious at the mention of Alison hurt. She helped me stand back up and we slowly ran towards the other girls.
When we moved closer, I saw the ambulance truck loading Alison's unconscious body. She was laying on the gurney with blood all over her forehead.
Aria and Hanna were crying their eyes out. We all stood next to each in line and watched her get loaded into the ambulance.
"Guys, what the fuck just happened." Spencer said, freaking out.
"It's A," Aria answered shakily, trying to calm herself down in between breaths.
"He's out to get Ali" I mumbled in between muffled cries.
Hanna pulled me in for a hug as we all cried when we watched the ambulance go away.
"This person is trying to get revenge for what Ali did to them," Spencer spoke as she was trying to calm us down. "I'm not saying she didn't deserve it. But this is just getting out of hand."
"C'mon, let's go to the hospital!" Hanna spoke up, finally calming down.
We all piled into the car and drove to the Rosewood Medical Center. When we arrived at the hospital, we ran to the receptionist.
"Hey, we are looking for Alison DiLaurentis," Spencer said, fear written all over her face.
The nurse nodded her head and began typing away on her computer. "I'm sorry, we are not allowed to give out information unless you are family."
Before Spencer could argue back. We heard a man shout. "What the fuck happened to my baby girl?"
We spun around to find , Ms. DisLaurentis and Jason scurrying up to the receptionist desk.
The nurse looked at them and answered. "I can't help if you are not telling me who you are looking for."
"Oh yes," The nurse nodded. "These girls were asking about her. Do they have any relations towards Alision DiLaurentis.
eyed us. "Yes, these are Alison's friends. They are more than welcome to hear what you have to say."
The nurse nodded. "Okay, it says she's in room 101 on the 10th floor but it says you have to wait for the doctor to come speak to you. Please wait in the waiting room."
"Of course, thank you." nodded her head.
We all huddled in a circle to talk about what had just happened. The girls and I were shaking with fear and the DiLaurentis family could notice.
"Girls, can you please tell us what happened?" Ms. Dilaurentis asked patiently, waiting for an answer.
Spencer sighed and said. "We were just walking around the neighborhood telling each other ghost stories and then someone with a black hoodie and black mask jumped towards us, grabbed Ali and threw a rock at her."
"What is the meaning of this," Mr. Dilaurentis demanded angrily, "Why are you girls walking around late at night? You shouldn't even be allowed-"
We heard someone clearing their throat, we all turned around to find the doctor standing in front of us. "Are you the DiLaurentis Family?"
"Yes, yes we are" answered. "Tell me, is my baby going to be okay?"
The doctor nodded and explained. "Alison is going to be fine. She just has a concussion and a large gash on her forehead from the impact of the rock. We placed stitches on her forehead, she's going to be fine. But we are going to keep her overnight for observation."
"Can we see her?" Mr. DiLaurentis asked.
"Yes, she's still unconscious. Although she should be waking up any minute now," The doctor said. "Visiting hours are over, only the parents are allowed since she is a minor."
"Not so fast," A police officer shouted as he made his way toward us.
"We are opening an investigation for your daughter. We will find out who tried to kill her," The police officer spoke. "Now because you girls were at the scene of the crime. You need to tell us what happened."
"Officer, we were just walking around the neighborhood and then all of a sudden this person with a hoodie and a black mask jumps out at us, grabs Ali and chucks her to the ground and threw a rock at her head." Spencer explained.
"And then I ran after the person, " I added. "Whoever it was didn't like me chasing after him or her or she and started to choke me to the point where I passed out."
"Not only that, there is someone sending the girls and threatening text messages, this person wants to kill us" Hanna continued.
"That same person was chasing us on the road that other night to the point where i swerved my car and hit a tree," Aria finished. "Someone is trying to torture us."
"Someone is out there trying to torture us," Spencer complained
The officer nodded. "Alright, thank you girls. We will have to call your parents and let them know because you are included in this incident and we will discuss the investigation moving forward. But first, you guys need to give us your cell phones so we can track this person. We will do our best to keep you safe."
Unwillingly, we gave our phones and said goodbye to the DiLaurentis family. We hopped in the car and headed back to their house to retrieve our stuff.
When I finally reached home, I opened the front door and walked slowly to make no noise. To my horror, my mom and dad were sitting on the living room couch. I could tell they were not happy.
"What are you doing hanging out with Alison," My mom yelled, her face getting more red. "Whenever you are with her, trouble seems to follow. You are forbidden to hang out with her."
Upset at her reaction. "You can't tell me who I can and cannot hang with. I'm turning 18 in a month." I snapped angrily. I was getting upset because she didn't even seem to even ask if i'm ok or not.
"No, you are not walking away from me," Mom grabs my arms and spins me around to face her. I give her an angry look.
"Mom, do you even care about what's going on right now?" i ask.
"I do, if i didn't i would not be yelling at you right now," Mom continued. " I am so unbelievably angry with you right now. This could ruin your chance of getting accepted at UCLA. Being associated with her could ruin your reputation."
"It's too late for that," I shot back. "Anyway, I'm not having this discussion with you. You never even bother to let me explain."
"Ok then explain," Mom demanded crossing her arms and tapping her foot "Go on."
"She's changed. Going to jail made her realize alot of things. She made some apologies to those who hurt and the rest of my friend group."
"Oh come on, stop giving me excuses. You are always defending her," Mom raised her hand to rub her temples. "I wish you weren't stupid-"
"Save it," I interjected, not wanting to hear what she had to say. "I can make my own decisions. "
I marched upstairs to my room and slammed it as hard and loud as I could. I jumped into my bed and screamed into the pillow. Senior year wasn't going as well as I thought it would be.
My dad decided it The weekend flew by and the next thing I knew it was Monday morning. I had no idea if Ali was going to return to school today. I never got the chance to talk to her or anyone for that matter since all our phones were taken by the police. Apparently the person is hard to track and we were still awaiting best to take me to school to make sure that I was okay. As for my mom, we didn't talk all weekend. I was still angry with her.
We pulled up to the front of the school and my dad looked at me and goes. "Honey, your mom and I want what's best for you. You are right, we are in no position to tell you what to do. It is your life. However the decisions you make affect your future. Do you really want that?"
"I know what's at stake when it comes to my friendship with Ali," I admitted. "But I also know that friends fight and wear makeup. She's my best friend, she's gonna be there for us no matter what.."
He nodded and pressed his lips together. "Ok, but please be careful."
I gave him a kiss on the cheek and I hopped out of the car and walked straight into the school building. Again, everyone was staring at me, I tried to not pay attention and look for my friends.
Finally, I saw Aria, Spencer and Hanna all huddled together in conversation by my locker. I rush over to them. "Any sign of Ali?"
"No, we are worried," Aria responded back.
I sighed, twisting the lock on my locker. I threw the door open and let out a blood curdling scream. Inside of it was a dead rat and blood all over my locker. A note was taped on the door and it says "There's more to come."
The girls got startled and opened their mouths in shock. I backed away from the locker "What the fuck" i exclaim loudly.
"I guess A's not finished with you yet." Hanna sighed.
"I'm going to tell a teacher about this," I said slowly walking away to go find one.
"No, wait," Spencer said loudly as she took the note away and flipped it outside and it read. "If u tell. U die."
I groaned. "There's no way i'm cleaning this up."
I sighed a breath of relief when the final bell rang. It had been a long day, I had no choice but to clean up my locker and everyone just staring at me was staring was starting to irritate me.
I met up with the girls and we went straight for Ali's house. I noticed a police car sat on the curb right in front of the house. Spencer led the way and knocked on the door. A few seconds later, opened the front door and smiled widely. "Hey girls. We weren't expecting you guys here."
"We just came to see if Ali was alright," I explained. "Can we go see her?"
"Oh yes, ill give her a text and let her know that i'm sending you up to her room," said motioning for us to get inside her house.
I led the girls towards her room. I gently knock on the door not wanting to just walk in rudely.
"Come in" Her voice bellowed.
I slowly open the door and walk inside to find Alison laying on her bed watching TV. A huge white bandage was placed in front of her forehead. We all walk up to her and sit on the corner of the bed.
"How are you feeling?" I ask.
"My head hurts," She answered, "I was supposed to go to school today but i just didn't feel good."
Alison sat up and straightened her composure. "What happened when I got knocked out?"
"I tried to chase whoever it was and then he ended up choking me and I passed out," I explained. "And then this morning, A put a rat and a note in my locker that said there's more to come."
"When I got home from the hospital yesterday morning, A wrote on my mirror with a red lipstick that said the same thing." Alison says shakily. I noticed she was getting nervous and I hugged her.
"I'm sorry"
"Don't be sorry," Alison murmured softly. "Karma is just doing its thing."
"The police have no leads," Spencer chimed in, frowning. "They have no idea where it's coming from. They are still tracking."
"Whoever this person is has it for the both of you," Aria pointed out. "Is there anyone out there that doesn't want you guys to be friends?"
"Paige," I admitted. "But there's no way in hell she would be doing this. She has lots on her plate."
"Oh, Em. Get a grip," Alison rolled her eyes. "It's so obvious it's her. She's just jealous of you and i.
"No," I shook my head in denial. "It's not her. Don't even start."
"You can't be dumb enough to think that it's not her," Alison argued. "She's at the top of my list, she is so lucky, i got a restraining order-"
"Ali, chill," I interjected. "I don't think Paige is strong enough or has the balls. She's kind of scared of you."
Alison crossed her arms and frowned. "I wouldn't put it past her. She's such a-"
"Ali, can you please just stop?" I begged.
She sighed. "Fine but she's still top of my list."
The other girls were silent just listening to our conversation and then Spencer finally spoke up. "For once, I agree with Alison. The only reason why you two broke up was because you couldn't trust her."
"Fine, i'll go talk to her."
"We actually should start going," Aria spoke up. "We are happy that you are okay, Ali. But with everything going on, I don't feel comfortable being out late at night."
"Okay," Alison smiled. "Thank you for coming to visit me."
The girls and I stood up and slowly walked out before I heard Alison call my name. "Em, wait."
I turned around and looked at her. Her sparkling ocean blue eyes glimmering as she glanced back. She pouted. "I don't feel comfortable being by myself. Could you spend the night?"
I nodded and fainted at the idea of just having a sleepover with just the two of us. "I'll tell the girls what's going on."
I ran over to them and explained what was going on and they understood.I called my parents and told them i was sleeping over at Spencer to save myself from arguing. I couldn't wait for our sleepover.
Later that night, Alison and I were fluffing the pillows. The night had been so much fun watching movies and ordering pizza. We tucked ourselves and turned off the lights. We both turned the other way.
"Hey Emily, are you awake?" Alison whispers. I turned around and faced her. My heart was beating fast.
She looked at me, grabbed my face and one thing led to another. We started to make out and it became more magical when we started other than kissing.
It was all I dreamed about. It was magical and passionate. My dream had come true.
