"Wait... so... they got lost in Johto for months and somehow ended up in Hoenn?"
Bea's Father was so confused when he read the letter and saw the postcard that his daughter had sent to him from Slateport City, and the postcard had a picture of her and her traveling partner with her. The man saw the two of them looked tired, but they were grinning into the camera with a Machamp, Heracross, Gloom, Petilil, and with the small eyes of another pokemon peeking out from inside of Naruto's backpack.
They seemed happy.
He hadn't seen his daughter in person in close to 9 months now, but considering how often she sent him postcards and letters telling him how her journey was going, he didn't feel completely out ot the loop either.
He looked at some of the older postcards.
"Oh honey, another postcard arrived from Bea, it seems they both arrived about the same time."
"Oh, lets see it then." His Wife showed up with another letter. She opened it and handed him the postcard, and he laughed when he saw that Bea was in the shopping mall with Naruto, and the Gym Leader of the Gym was sitting at the table with them. The gym leader had his arms wrapped around them, bringing them all close together. He had ice cream cones in both of his hands, while Naruto and Bea had their own as well.
So did some of their pokemon.
Dear Father,
Naruto and I helped restart Mauville City's electrical plant when some violent pokemon took it over, we had some minor issues. I actually caught a second Machop, and started to train it too. Naruto got kicked out of Mauville City's casino after he almost cleaned them out completely of their prizes. I'm sending home the Torchic, Mudkip, and Treeko dolls he gave him.
Saving the electrical plant was actually kind of fun, but painful.
We both got blown up by some Electrode that were living there when we weren't paying attention, it was Naruto's fault of course for distracting me with this dumb joke about a Pokeball, Greatball, and Ultraball walking into a bar. We were only moderately injured from it, but it really stung. This journey has made me stronger than before, so when I finish this journey I'll inherit the dojo from you for sure.
This happened before we got to Mauville City, but after I sent my last postcard, but turns out we can sell Gloom's honey for some quick cash if we need to. Also, I didn't realize it, but apparently I had a bit of a smell issue for awhile. I've fixed it.
I. Fixed. It.
Tomorrow, the old man in the photo is actually taking us to get a bike to ride, so we should be traveling faster than before. I want the Mach Bike, but Naruto wants to do fun tricks on the Acro Bike. Tonight, we're going to have a pokemon battle to decide which bike we get. Now we both have 3 pokemon to use, so it will be a fair battle, and neither of us really had the type advantage, so it will be pure skill.
"Honey... do you think they are dating dating, or just Off-Dating still?" The man asked as he read the letter out loud. The vibes the letter gave off, gave off the vibe that the two had really been growing a lot closer. He wondered if they had started to officially date, or if they were still in the territory of "Closer than Friends, but Not Quite Dating".
His wife leaned forward and gave it some thought.
"... I think Bea wants to start dating, but doesn't want to be the one to initiate... and I think Naruto has so much fun with Bea, that dating just hasn't crossed his mind that much. I think they are closer to the level of "Wait, We Aren't Dating Already?" and just passed the level of "Do I want to date?"... for sure though, Bea writes Naruto's name with a bit more... feminine energy. She drew a heart in the O of his name, erased it, and then drew a normal O." His wife agreed with him that clearly, they had evolved to a different stage in their relationship.
He disagreed with that.
"I hear wedding bells, and the sounds of tiny feet on a dojo floor. Those two are a single confession away from giving us grandchildren. Even boyfriends and girlfriends haven't gone through the trials and hardships of long term camping and traveling... I'm positive these two are so comfortable with each other, Bea could walk into a room half naked confidently with him there." He thought they were further in the relationship.
He believed that they were closer than simply dating, and they just hadn't made it official or anything like that.
"Look at this letter though, the last one they sent from Johto. I'm expecting Bea to be pregnant... within the next 5 months... for sure. She is coming home with a growing belly."
"Bea is responsible, even if they start doing that... within 2 years. I will say unless an accident happens with a broken condom and bad timing, Bea gets pregnant with our first of many grandchildren within 2 years... maybe." He wasn't quite sure. Bea was having so much fun on the journey, that she might want to finish training and traveling before settling down with a kid.
His wife smiled.
"Oh, but she is so young and healthy, and she inherited your mother's child rearing hips. Childbirth will be so much easier for her than it was for me."
"Exactly, I'm expecting these two to give us at least 7 grandchildren, maybe more. She might be generous and give us an entire Karate Team's worth of grandchildren."
"Wouldn't that be great?"
"I know, and her husband will be a good man, of good genetics, with a good personality. The type of man I wouldn't mind passing the dojo down to, so that one day he could pass it down to one of my grandchildren."
"That sounds wonderful."
"It really does, Bea gets a wonderful husband, gets wonderful children, and will have traveled the world, gotten stronger, and become the best teacher our dojo has to offer. She can revive the dojo beyond it's former glory, and bring beautiful babies into the family." The father of the young woman stated with a wide grin.
He was just genuinely happy for his daughter and how she seemed to have found such a good partner, somebody who could smooth out her rough edges a bit, His daughter was rough around the edges, and needed somebody who was laid back to soften those edges, so that they could be smoothed down. That way she could truly shine as a gem of a fighting type master, and fighting master.
"... Seeing her smile has really softened you up."
"... She never smiled this way when she stayed with us... we were always too stern with her, but after seeing all of this from her, and reading just how happy she is becoming... I know this was the right choice." The man didn't refute how much seeing his daughter happy had changed him.
They were both far too strict with her, to the point they didn't even realize that she could smile this way anymore, or at least show these type of genuine happy, goofy smiles.
The man pulled out another photo.
It was just of Naruto and Bea in casual clothes, in a city in Johto, trying on sunglasses, but Bea seemed so happy in it. For the previous 9 months of only seeing his daughter through postcards, he had realized truly how strict he had been with her.
-With Naruto and Bea-
"... One Acro Bike."
"Lucky win."
"One Acro Bike please!" Naruto repeated louder with a smug tone, puffing his chest out now that Bea was showing her sour side. Bea punched him in the ribs for being smug, but he didn't stop being smug for even a second.
The bike seller pulled up an Acro Bike.
Naruto sat on it, and Bea stood on the back of it and grabbed his shoulders.
"Just go."
"There is a time and place for everything, but not now. You can't have that attitude when we're about to kick some ass! Come on!" Naruto started to peddle at a high speed, and Bea couldn't keep her sour look when the wind hit her face. "WHOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Bea sucked in her breath.
"Faster!"
"Lets GOOOOOO!" Naruto went full speed with the bike, as fast as his legs could go.
"... Those two are going to crash that bike off a cliff." The man who sold the bike deadpanned as he watched the two cycle off into the distance.
He didn't see that bike surviving those two.
