A lone man standing on the gallows.
Condemned by the very people he saved.
But he didn't regret saving them.
For, there is no wrong in saving lives.
He reminisces about the past long forgotten.
The promise for a certain woman who awaits.
His promise to never give up looking for her.
Even if she was in an everdistant utopia.
His promise will stand.
His will never fades.
Even death won't stop him.
And she, will also wait for him.
However long, centuries, even for eternity.
She will be devoted, awaiting his arrival.
He who seek forever,
For she who wait forever.
Only miracle can grant them their fateful reunion.
And miracle they will get.

"…!"
Shirou woken up with a jolt.
He found himself on the floor of his room. With blades of various kinds piling up on his side.
He pushed himself up from the floor, stretching his stiff back, producing a satisfying cracking sound.
"Ah, I fell asleep again… not good, I've been careless lately. She will definitely angry at me for being careless if she was here."
Shirou thinking to himself while willing for his projection to disperse.
He reminded of a certain woman with twin tail that he forgot her name. She was an important family of his in his previous life before he was reincarnated in this world. Alas, their path was not destined to be hand in hand for so long, he has promise and a dream to pursue and she has her duty to fulfil. Their farewell was nothing extravagant he didn't remember fully but it was only a simple goodbye and a single last hug before they go on their ways without contacting each other ever again even until he met his demise. This faint memory is the only thing he has for her.
Right now, it is 1:22 am, a time that no one supposed to be up in his house normally. Yet, his bounded field detected someone approaching his room.
He is now smiling warmly, knowing who was in front of his door currently conflicted whether should she knock, or should she just barging in willy nilly, or should she just give up and go back to her room.
Making sure that no item that can expose the existence of magecraft left in his room, he pre-emptively opened the door, surprising the anxious little girl.
"Having a hard time sleeping, Aoi?"
"Yes, Onii-chan"
She quietly nodding while ignoring how her big brother seemingly able to know that she was here or why he is up in this hour.
She gingerly tip toeing her way into his room before climbing into his bed, searching for the most comfortable position to sleep while not taking a lot of space in consideration of her brother.
This has been always happening ever since their parents went overseas for work last month, leaving the two alone at home. They trusted Shirou enough to take care of the house and his sister while they're working overseas. This may look like an irresponsible move but for those who knows Shirou, this is the most reasonable action they can do.
Back to the present, Shirou is currently patting his sister's head affectionately while humming calming tune, something he painstakingly learned last month for his sister. The little one was already close to falling asleep in her brother's embrace.
Using his hand to comb her shoulder length hair with the same colour as his, he thought to himself…
"…The world with no magic, no Mage's Association, no ancestors endangering human life. But the law of physic is crooked and weird in some place, nothing significant but enough to be noticed by someone like me who came from another world."
In his 17 years of life in this new world, he tested a lot of things. The mana is thick but not suffocating, he had an easy time activating his magic circuit when he was 10, with proper procedure now, of course. So, in term of magecraft, his progress is unhindered an he is able to smoothly practicing his magecraft with ease.
The state of the world magic aside, he noticed some weird stuff in this world.
First thing he noticed, is that the physic in this world is somewhat exaggerated, close to those movie physic where everything can suddenly become feather weight at some situation. He had seen a man being slapped 5 meters into the air and sustaining no injury after he fell except for the hand print on his cheek.
The other is this world is weirdly sanitary, He won't smell rancid even after a long day of rigorous workout. The smell is there but it is not so bad like how it should be if he does the same back in his world.
There are also other things but, just like the previous two, they're not really significant to warrant a worry.
The weirdest thing for him is the inconsistency, where things happen differently from the first two example and they're not rare, actually this different is the real normal one. The two example he provides is just an instance that happened often enough to be noted as not weird. This is why he can be relaxed living his new life, the consistent inconsistency in this world formed some sort of weird balance that works out.
"Mom…dad…"
Breaking his thought is the soft mumbling of Aoi who has a loose smile on her face while sleeping on his arm. Breaking a smile of his own, he decided that it is enough thinking for tonight and pulled the blanked to cover himself and his sister.
He fell asleep not long after, dreaming of a world of sword and the promised land in the far distance. But unlike before, his world was lonely and desolate, now it was warm and pleasant. The unlimited desert is now a grassy land with other vegetation like bush and trees scarcely spread as far as eye can see. The aspect that he attributed to having something he had lost in his previous life, something that he will protect until the day he dies again.
…a Family.
