"Maci baby, eat your dinner please." I was putting on my makeup in the bathroom as I watched my two-year-old eat, the babysitter would be here any minute so I could run in to work. I tied my waist long hair back into a slick tight ponytail and slid on my black leather short shorts with black combat boots. I watched Maci as I looked through the closet for my white skintight uniform top and slid it over my head quickly before putting on my black eye liner. I walked back out of the bedroom and directly into the kitchen where my little girl as giggling in her high chair. I gave her a smile as I cleaned off her tray and bottle her bottle ready for the babysitter oto put her down tonight. I laid out everything and picked Maci up along with my purse and my way to the front door when I heard a knock. I opened the door to see Leah standing with a smile a new stuffed animal in her hand.
"Hey!" I smiled, she was always in such a good mood, and loved my little girl more than I could ask for. I passed over Maci with a smile who was reaching for her.
"Thank you so much Leah, I would love to stay and visit for a minute but I am running late. Your cash for the week is on the kitchen counter, and her bottle is in the fridge." She laughed as I began to ramble.
"Alls, it's okay, I am here almost every night now, you don't have to give me the run down every time." I smiled and kissed Maci on the top of her head and gave Leah a quick hug before I left. I made my way down to my 2012 Jeep Cherokee and headed to work. It didn't take long to get to work since I lived pretty close. I hopped out of the car and made my way inside: Nightclub 66.
I smiled as I stepped inside and heard a "Heyyyyy girl" I immediately headed over behind the bar to grab my notepad clip and my notepad.
"Hey T, sorry I'm late" Trish was my manager, and my best friend. She helped me through the hardest times of my life. She was there when I found out I was pregnant, when I left Maci's dad, and helped me get this job when I needed it the most.
"You're not late Ally its only 5:45" she laughed as she wiped the bar down.
I smiled and started to get the bar set up for opening tonight, "oh, I honestly wasn't even watching the clock, I just knew we were getting close to time." I grabbed the cleaning rags and made my way out to the tables on the floor and began to wipe them all down. It was Friday so I knew it was going to be a busy night.
"Tonight, is going to be packed, and the owner is coming to watch the performer and decide if he is going to sign him to his label or not." Trish said as she began helping me wipe down the floor tables. I let out a sigh.
"Fingers crossed he doesn't sit in my section." I looked over at Trish who had a guilty look on her face. I stood up straight and gave her the same look that I gave Maci when she had done something wrong.
"You didn't" I sighed.
"Please don't be mad Alls, you are my best waitress, and I am stuck behind the bar tonight." I rolled my eyes playfully and smiled at her.
"You're lucky I love you" she smiled, and I turned to make my way back to the bar and greet all of the cooks in the back, waitress', and the bouncers as they come in and before I knew it, it was opening time. I began waiting my tables and working behind the bar since the last act of the night is normally "female entertainers" in a more "luxurious" part of Miami, my section, just like normal, is full of men in suits. I watched as the table reserved for the owner of the club slowly filled with people. Honestly, I didn't know what he looked like himself. I knew that he owned the club and the country's largest record label. But I did not care to take the time to worry over it. I had, however, heard horror stories from the girls that had worked his table before.
I made my way over to my tables to check on everyone before I moved along to my one reserved table. I turned to them with a smile, "Good evening gentlemen, can I get any of you started with a drink from the bar or any dinner tonight?"
"Do you have any bourbon?" A man with red hair, pushed over to side asked.
I gave a smile "I do actually, are we feeling vintage tonight, or do we want some that is newer?"
He gave me a smile back, "vintage sounds perfect."
I gave him a nod and a few others around them ordered beers before I turned to the shaggy blonde man sitting next to him. I fought the urge to roll my eyes at the arrogance on his face but I bit it back and gave him my best smile, "and for you sir?"
"I will take my usual" I scrunched my brows a bit and tilted my head to the side at him.
"I am sorry sir but you are not one of my regulars, so I don't personally know your usual. I do catch on fast though so if you would like to tell me then I will be sure to keep it in mind." He looked up at me with a slight smirk.
"You don't know who I am?" I pursed my lips together and shook my head, "No sir I am afraid not." I offered and then added in a quick, "if you want a drink sir, I really need to know what you want, I still have other customers to take care of." I smiled kindly at him after and his smirk turned in to a raised set of brows.
"I'll have the bourbon from the top shelf." I nodded.
"I will have those drinks right out for you guys" I smiled as I walked back to the bar and placed my orders on a tray that I slid over to Trish and ran rounds on the rest of my tables. Once I finished my rounds I went back and grabbed the tray before delivering the men their drinks.
"Alright guys is there anything else I can do for you all before the show gets started"
Everyone threw out a few noes, so I offered them a smile and made my way back behind the bar. The concert started I continued working, counting down the hours till I got to go back to my tiny apartment with my sweet little girl.
I cleaned off the tables and finished wiping down the rest. Once that was done I moved back behind the bar to help Trish finish closing bar duties. I was closing and locking the coolers as I saw the blonde man approaching the bar, so I stood up with a sigh and gave him the nicest smile I could manage at this hour.
"I am sorry sir, but you need to head out, we are actually closed now." I cocked my head to the side when he let out a small chuckle as Trish walked up to the bar next to me.
"I was actually wondering if I could get your number" Internally rolling my eyes I smiled slightly.
"I am taken, sorry."
"No, you aren't" Trish chimed in.
"Trish!" I exclaimed exasperatedly.
The man smiled, "that's alright, I can get it from payroll this week if need be." My eyes went wide.
"Mr. Moon?" I asked. He nodded with a slight smirk on his face. I nodded slightly and placed my notepad and clip back in my spot on the counter and clocked out on the computer.
"I guess you will have to go through the troubles of getting it during payroll, although you could just skip the troubles and not worry about it," I grabbed my bag from my cubby underneath the bar and made my way towards the door. "Goodnight, T"
I could hear here laughing slightly as I made my exit, but I made a beeline back to my car and home to my sweet little Maci. Once I made it home, I draped a blanket over Leah who had fallen asleep on the couch. Before going into the little bedroom, I shared with Maci. She was sound asleep, so I started a load of laundry and hopped into the shower to get my makeup off and the gel from my hair. The club opened at 5 tomorrow evening, so I at least get to sleep in the morning. I hopped out after a quick ten minutes threw on a t-shirt and a pair of shorts before turning off the bathroom lights, checking on Maci one more time and laying down in bed. I rolled over to face the crib when I saw my phone light up.
"Text From Unknown #" I scrunched my brows together and opened it up. "I decided to go ahead and grab it tonight;)" I rolled my eyes and locked the phone before laying it back down and drifting off to sleep.
