I have always been wanting to write my own Naruto fanfiction, but I never seem to get it right, I always have the ideas but not the will to implement them and make a story long enough to reach the ideas that I wanted to include in the story. But after reading many fanfictions and indulging in many stories about my guilty pleasure (Fem!Naruto stories specifically) I decided enough was enough and that it was time to make my own.

So this is my attempt at writing a female Naruto story, one that I shamelessly had the GPT help in making but still one that took me a lot of effort.

You might notice as you're reading that I changed female Naruto's name from the usual Naruko to Amaya, I don't know, I just like the way its sounds, and its meaning.

Meaning: Amaya has several meanings, including 'Heavenly valley,' 'Mother city,' 'The end,' and 'Night rain.'

I can see Minato and Kushina naming their daughters this way. I also feel "Night rain" makes me feel a sense of calm, I always liked rain.
Not to mention I feel a name meaning "the end" kinda makes me see parallels with how Naruto in the original was supposed to be the child of prophechy and the one to end the cycle of hatred.

I feel like I need to mention that there is a bit of "filler" at the end, as the team do some team building exercices, but I like the idea of Kakashi getting worried that he even picks up a teaching guide to get them to become more friendly.

Of Introductions and Aspirations :

The morning sun cast a warm glow over the hidden village of Konoha as the bustling streets came to life. In the heart of the village, the Academy stood tall, its halls filled with eager young ninjas, each yearning for the day when they would become true shinobi.

Amaya stood apart from the rest, her flame-red hair a stark contrast to the sea of dark locks that surrounded her. The whispers and glances from her classmates followed her everywhere, a constant reminder of the fear and disdain that marked her childhood.

Amaya's heart beat with a mixture of excitement and trepidation as she waited for the team assignments. She had always felt like an outsider, an anomaly in the village. Growing up alone and hated by those around her had shaped her into a resilient girl, determined to prove her worth and carve out her own destiny but the weight of those early years lingered within her, hurting her self-esteem yet driving her to excel and find acceptance.

As the team placements were announced, Amaya's eyes scanned the room, hoping she wouldn't be assigned to a team with her former tormentors. The relief washed over her when she heard her name called alongside Sasuke Uchiha and Shikamaru Nara. It was a small victory, a respite from the relentless bullying and isolation she had endured.

Amaya's gaze shifted towards Sasuke, observing his distant and enigmatic nature. She couldn't help but admire his unwavering dedication. In him, she saw a reflection of her own relentless pursuit of excellence. While her classmates often approached their training with carefree attitudes, Amaya took the path of the shinobi with utmost seriousness. She recognized the gravity of their training, understanding that it was not just a means to an end but a way to define her own identity and rise above the shadows of her past.

There was an unspoken understanding between them—a shared commitment to prove themselves and find their place in a world that had rejected them. In his quiet determination, she saw someone who had experienced their fair share of pain. It fueled her curiosity about his past and the burdens he carried, wondering if his journey mirrored her own in some way.

And then there was Shikamaru Nara, a laid-back and seemingly indifferent individual. Amaya had reservations about his commitment to the team, but she wouldn't trade him for any other of her classmates. He was a laid back individual and had never treated her with malice. But she never got to learn about him more than what he showed.

"Good luck, students! Make me proud!" Was Iruka, last statement to them before exiting, leaving the genins waiting for their jonin senseis.

As the classroom buzzed with anticipation, Amaya and her teammates eagerly awaited the arrival of their jōnin sensei, Kakashi Hatake. Minutes turned into what felt like hours, and just when restlessness was reaching its peak, the door slid open, revealing Kakashi with his silver hair and masked face. A playful glint sparkled in his visible eye, and a mischievous smile graced his lips.

"Apologies for my tardiness," Kakashi said, his tone light-hearted. "I got lost on the path of life."

Amaya was surprised by the nonchalant attitude. It was a stark contrast to the serious and disciplined demeanor she had expected from a jōnin sensei. His presence had an air of mystery, leaving her curious to uncover more about him. She wondered what secrets hid behind his mask.

He told them to meet him at the rooftop, and as soon as they walked through the door, Kakashi wasted no time as his gaze shifted to his new students. "Alright, let's get down to business. I'm Kakashi Hatake, your sensei. That's all you need to know about me for now. Now, I want each of you to introduce yourselves properly."

Shikamaru, ever the embodiment of nonchalance, let out a sigh before speaking. "I'm Shikamaru Nara. I like taking naps and avoiding troublesome situations."

Amaya couldn't help but find a flicker of amusement in Shikamaru's simple yet straightforward introduction. His relaxed attitude hinted at a depth she had yet to fully comprehend. Though she hadn't formed any solid opinions about him, she acknowledged the whispers of his strategic brilliance that echoed through the academy corridors.

Sasuke's voice sliced through the air, sharp and tinged with bitterness. "I'm Sasuke Uchiha. I don't have likes or dislikes. My goal is to kill a certain someone."

Amaya's eyes widened at Sasuke's proclamation. They all fell into a stunned silence, as his words pierced through their expectations. The weight behind his desire for vengeance sent a chill down her spine, making her question the motives and darkness that lay within him. She realized that the image she had held of Sasuke as a quiet and driven individual had only scratched the surface of his complex character.

Finally, it was Amaya's turn to introduce herself. She took a moment to gather her thoughts, her desire for excellence and her dream of becoming Hokage fueling her determination.

"I'm Amaya," she said, "I enjoy challenging myself and striving for excellence.I like ramen and I hate the days when Ichiraku ramen closes for a vacation. My hobbies include training and reading. But most importantly, my dream is to become Hokage and make people acknowledge me for who I am!"

Amaya's words held a quiet fervor, a reflection of her deep-seated longing to prove herself. She knew that her path would be challenging, but she was determined to rise above her past and fulfill her aspirations.

Kakashi observed each team member's introduction, his visible eye gleaming with hidden insight. He eye-smiled at them, as he leaned against the railing of the rooftop.

"You're certainly an interesting bunch." A mischievous glint danced in his visible eye. "Now that we've properly introduced ourselves, It's time to tell you about the final test, the test that guarantees that you truly have what it takes to become genin."

Kakashi explained the concept of the survival training that all new genins had to face and left with an instruction to meet the day after at training grounds 7.

Of Teamwork and Triumph:

The day after the team gathered as instructed, with Kakashi coming hours late to find two annoyed genins and an unbothered Shikamaru waiting for him. He leaned casually against a tree, his gaze fixed on his students. The dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a gentle glow upon the training ground.

"You see, I have these two bells," Kakashi continued, jingling the bells that hung loosely from his waist. "Your objective is simple: try to take one of these bells from me. However, whoever of you fails to acquire a bell by the time the test ends, that person will be immediately disqualified from becoming a shinobi."

A surge of determination coursed through Amaya's veins. The stakes were high, and failure was not an option. She tightened her grip on the kunai tucked in her pouch, mentally preparing herself for the upcoming challenge.

Taking a deep breath, Amaya steeled herself for the task at hand. This was the first step towards proving herself and challenging the views that the villagers had about her. She couldn't afford to fail this test because it would mean the end of her dream. It would put an end to her desire for acknowledgement and she couldn't afford that.

As Kakashi signaled for the start of the test, team 7 all jumped to the trees, leaving Kakashi in the middle of the clearing flipping through the pages of his book.

It wasn't until some minutes later that Amaya decided to throw a surprise attack, stealthily jumping out of the bushes behind Kakashi, she propelled herself forward, charging at Kakashi with incredible speed. To her surprise, Kakashi seemed unfazed, effortlessly evading her kick, his eyes fixated on the pages of his orange book. The nonchalant demeanor only further fueled her determination to leave an impression.

Amaya unleashed a barrage of strikes, combining punches, kicks, and acrobatic maneuvers in her repertoire. Her movements were a testament to her flexibility and unpredictable style.

To his credit, Kakashi effortlessly avoided her attacks, his movements calculated and efficient. His eyes, however, betrayed a hint of intrigue. He closed his book, his focus now solely on the budding shinobi before him.

Amaya pushed herself harder, determined to break through Kakashi's defenses. She twisted and turned, her strikes coming from unexpected angles. Yet, Kakashi's evasion was almost casual, as if he was merely toying with her.

"Impressive Amaya, but you're going to need a lot more than this if you're going to have the slightest of shots at grabbing a bell."

Amaya gritted her teeth but her spirit remained unyielding. Her desire to prove herself, to surpass her own limitations, burned within her. She knew she had to dig deeper, to tap into her untapped potential.

As she launched herself into a spinning kick, Kakashi gracefully sidestepped her attack.

"Your speed, flexibility, and creativity are remarkable. But remember, true strength lies not only in physical prowess but also in the ability to adapt and strategize."

Amaya's heart swelled with pride. She may not have landed a decisive blow, but the acknowledgment from Kakashi fueled her resolve. It was the first ever acknowledgement she had of her skills and it warmed her heart. Someone had finally seen some good in her and deemed it important enough to point it out.

"You also shouldn't allow emotions such as joy or pride to distract you in the middle of a battle." He added as he pushed her down expertly tying Amaya down with a series of precise knots.

He then turned his attention away, retrieving his book and casually strolling towards the direction where Sasuke had disappeared.

Left immobilized, Amaya's heart sank. A sense of sadness and disappointment enveloped her. She struggled against the restraints, her mind racing with thoughts of failure. The possibility of not becoming a shinobi, of not passing this test, felt like a crushing weight on her shoulders. It threatened to consume her completely. All of this because she allowed herself to feel happiness at his compliment, the moment of distraction was enough for Kakashi to move out of her sight and finish off the battle.

She desperately tried to free herself, her body wriggling against the restraints. But the ropes held firm, a stark reminder of her current predicament.

From the trees, Shikamaru observed the entire encounter, his sharp intellect processing each move and countermove. His analytical gaze lingered on Amaya, recognizing the fire that burned within her.

While Amaya struggled against the binds that held her, Kakashi continued his pursuit of Sasuke. The tension in the air grew palpable as the two powerful forces prepared to clash.

Sasuke, the brooding and enigmatic prodigy, stood poised, his eyes burning with a fierce determination. He had long harbored a desire for vengeance, and this test presented an opportunity to showcase his strength.

The tension crackled in the air as Sasuke, the determined prodigy, faced off against Kakashi, the legendary Jonin. With a swift motion, Sasuke propelled himself forward, his lithe form a blur as he launched a series of lightning-fast strikes.

Kakashi moved with a grace and precision that belied his nonchalant demeanor. He dodged, weaved, and parried Sasuke's attacks with calculated ease, his movements fluid and economical.

Sasuke's frustration grew with each evaded blow, He leapt backward, performing a series of hand seals with swift precision. Flames erupted from his mouth, forming a roaring inferno that engulfed the training ground.

Kakashi's eyes narrowed, and summoned water chakra, manipulating it with a precise hand gesture. A torrent of water surged forth, colliding with Sasuke's fire jutsu. Steam billowed and sizzled as the two elements clashed and dissipated.

As the haze cleared, Sasuke emerged from the dissipating steam, his eyes blazing with renewed determination. He unleashed a rapid series of strikes, his movements a blur of speed and precision. But Kakashi, the seasoned veteran, deflected each blow with calculated ease.

A glimmer of admiration flashed in Kakashi's eyes as he observed Sasuke's relentless assault. He recognized the young Uchiha's natural talent and his unwavering determination.

Finally, with a deft maneuver, Kakashi pushed Sasuke away and the battle ceased, both warriors standing in a momentary stalemate.

"Impressive showing Sasuke, but you shouldn't let your frustration get into you in a battle, no matter how strong you are, there is someone stronger out there. It might make you miss out on important details," Kakashi eye-smiled, before continuing." Like for example, the fact that I am not the real Kakashi!" He said, as he puffed into smoke, and Sasuke found himself trapped underground.

"Two down, one to go!" Kakashi exclaimed playfully, his eyes glinting with amusement. He walked back to the center of training ground 7, and sat, reading his book. Perhaps Shikamaru or Amaya - who apparently managed to free herself, would attack anytime soon, in the meanwhile he'd read his favorite book instead of searching for them.

It took some time for anyone to show themselves once more, but when they did, it was Shikamaru strolling in as if it were a regular walk in the park.

"You're not going to try to surprise me?" Kakashi asked, curious about Shikamaru's laid-back demeanor.

Shikamaru let out an exasperated sigh, displaying a nonchalant grace. "Would it really make much of a difference?" he replied, his tone tinged with indifference.

Kakashi's visible eyebrow arched in response. "No," he agreed, his gaze fixed on the young shinobi. "But you never know until you try, right?"

A faint smirk played on Shikamaru's features as he glanced at the direction of Sasuke's battle. "If I were to give up now, would you pass the other two?" he asked, his voice hinting at both cunning and laziness.

Kakashi chuckled, the sound resonating through the serene clearing. "Not a chance," he replied confidently. "They've proved their mettle, just as you will have to."

"What a drag. I guess that was worth a shot. Those two really look like they want it badly," Shikamaru sighed. "Looks like I have to actually try, or my mom is going to kill me." His remark elicited an amused reaction from Kakashi.

Suddenly, a kunai zipped through the air, aimed at the book Kakashi was holding. With impressive reflexes, the silver-haired jonin caught the kunai mid-air. As he held the weapon, he noticed a thin shadow on the ground, extending from the kunai's point of origin. A split second later, he spotted a black tendril sliding across the ground, reaching toward him. "Clever," Kakashi thought as he swiftly jumped away.

To his surprise, the presumed Shikamaru transformed back into Amaya, revealing her skillful acting abilities. Before Kakashi could act further, Sasuke leaped down from the trees, attempting a fierce kick. Kakashi effortlessly caught Sasuke's leg mid-air and another kick to his face the Uchiha has sent, showing off his prowess as a seasoned jonin.

In the meantime, Amaya closed the distance, making a grab for the bells. At the same time, Shikamaru's shadow technique crept towards Kakashi once more. The jonin deftly threw Sasuke to the side and dodged Amaya's reaching hand. Noticing the Nara's shadow technique approaching, Kakashi recognized the dangerous combination of the two genin's efforts.

Sasuke landed on his feet, his hand running through handsigns, before a fireball was sent out. Kakashi's eyes lit up with recognition. As Sasuke sent a fireball attack astray, Kakashi noticed his own shadow extending on the ground. The Nara's shadow technique was millimeters away from catching him. At the same time Amaya came at him once more, restricting the possibilities of escape. But he wasn't a jonin for no reason, with a burst of speed, he rushed at Amaya, outpacing the approaching shadow. His punch fazed through her and he realized that Amaya had created a clone earlier, using it to her advantage.

The real Amaya attempted to grab Kakashi from behind, but her efforts proved futile against his superior strength. He maneuvered her into the path of the incoming shadow, delaying Shikamaru's attempt to ensnare him. The genin showed no sign of relenting however, with Sasuke making a move for the bells, and Amaya preparing for a punch.

As Kakashi found himself surrounded by Team 7, he couldn't help but be impressed by their coordinated attack. Their combined efforts were certainly formidable, and it was clear that they had surprising synergy. Shikamaru's Shadow Possession Jutsu was a constant threat, forcing Kakashi to stay vigilant.

Seeing Amaya coming at him with a punch, Kakashi decided to allow her to get closer, feigning vulnerability. As she closed in, he quickly sidestepped, using his speed and reflexes to evade her attack, making her stumble past him with her momentum. Taking advantage of the opening, Sasuke made his move, attempting to snatch the bells. However, Kakashi swiftly countered, catching Sasuke's wrist in midair, preventing him from reaching the bells, before throwing him at Amaya who was catching her footing, right as Shikamaru's shadow crept closer, attempting to ensnare him once more. Kakashi noticed that the shadow was slightly weakened, likely from Shikamaru's chakra getting depleted because of constant usage of the technique. That's something he'd have to work on with him in the future.

Amaya was able to catch Sasuke, although she almost fell with the added weight.

Kakashi eye-smiled as he saw the embarrassment on the Uchiha's face, and the tinge of awkwardness as Amaya helped him regain his balance.

Deciding he had seen what he wanted to and noticing that the timer was coming to an end, he let the shadow capture him.

"Looks like you've got me," Kakashi said with a grin. He purposely made it appear as though the shadow had taken control of his body, knowing that it would give the young genin a sense of victory, even if they seem to have figured out that he had willingly allowed it to happen.

As the shadow tightened its grip, Shikamaru felt a surge of triumph. Finally, the test is over.

"Now what?" Amaya asked her teammates, she seemed torn. It was this moment that they hadn't planned for when they decided to work together, who would take the bells, who gets to pass?

"Now," Kakashi said, "You've earned these bells."

With a flicker of movement, Kakashi reached into his pouch and tossed the bells to Amaya. She caught them in her hands, her eyes wide with surprise.

"You... you're letting us have them?" Amaya stammered, staring at the bells, they were in her possession, did it meant she gets to decide who passes?

Meanwhile, Sasuke, who had been relentless throughout the battle, stood back from his attack position, looking at Kakashi with suspicion. "You let us win?" he asked, his competitive spirit still unsure of how to take the situation. The win didn't feel earned.

Kakashi chuckled lightly. "It's not about winning or losing," he explained. "This test was to see if you could work together as a team, and you've all passed with flying colors. You've all done well! Congratulations on officially becoming members of Team 7!"

Amaya beamed at the praise, visibly relieved that she didn't have to choose after all. Shikamaru finally released Kakashi from his shadow possession, noting with irony that Kakashi was moving effortlessly even with it holding him. He was still satisfied with the outcome of the test, however.

"It was Shikamaru that figured out the purpose of the exam," Sasuke exclaimed, still a bit miffed that they couldn't get the bells themselves but satisfied by the outcome of the test.

Kakashi gave Shikamaru a long look before he asked him for the way he came to the conclusion. Shikamaru explained how he never saw any two-men teams, how it was weird for the village to put a team with the top two students and a clan heir just to make them go through a test with no way for all three to pass, saying it was a waste of a potential. He highlighted the impracticality of genin defeating a jonin in a direct confrontation and how it even contradicted Konoha rules engagement taught in the academy.

Kakashi was genuinely impressed by Shikamaru's logical reasoning and was pleased that the other two genin understood and accepted it as well. "Good on you all for embracing the logic behind Shikamaru's proposal," Kakashi acknowledged.

His gaze then encompassed the trio, his voice filled with wisdom and guidance. "Teamwork is the foundation of a successful mission," he began, his words carrying the weight of experience. "It's about trusting each other, supporting one another, and utilizing your unique abilities for the greater good. Remember, you're not alone anymore." His eyes lingered on both Amaya and Sasuke for a brief moment, and a flash of understanding shone in Shikamaru's eyes as he nodded in silent agreement.

"A friend once told me that, in the ninja world those who abandon the rules are trash, but those who abandon their teammates are worse than trash. Don't ever forget that!"

Of Whispered Conversations :

Amaya knelt before a certain gravestone, her fingers tracing the engraved name—Kushina Uzumaki. She hadn't met her mother, never got to see with her eyes what kind of woman she was, but the hokage had told her about her and this has become her sanctuary ever since, a place where she sought solace and guidance from the mother she had never known.

"Hey, Mom," Amaya spoke softly, her voice carrying a mix of longing and pride. "I did it. I finally became a ninja, just like you. Can you believe it?"

She paused, her gaze fixed on the simple marker that represented her mother's existence. She wished she could have known Kushina, to have shared moments of laughter and love. But she took solace in knowing that her mother's spirit lived on within her.

The wind gently rustled the leaves around her, as if Kushina's spirit was embracing her presence. Amaya took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts, before continuing her one-sided conversation.

"I've been assigned to a team now. We have a teacher named Kakashi. I wonder if you knew him back then. He's apparently quite the big deal, he was quite strong, mom! I couldn't land a single blow, can you believe it? And… and I have teammates now, Mom. Sasuke Uchiha and Shikamaru Nara. Sasuke, he's this quiet and intense guy, a genius with amazing skills. Sometimes I see a glimpse of pain in his eyes though, like he carries a burden no one else can understand. Shikamaru is different, laid-back and lazy, but incredibly smart. I'm not sure if I can trust them fully, though. Not yet."

Amaya's voice wavered as she spoke, a hint of vulnerability slipping through. The fear of opening up to her teammates, of revealing her true nature as the vessel of the Kyubi, lingered within her. The thought of betrayal or rejection gnawed at her, threatening to undermine the slight bond she had begun to forge.

"But during the test, Mom, something amazing happened," Amaya continued, her voice tinged with a mix of awe and uncertainty. "We worked together, even though it was supposed to be every man for himself. I had to trust Sasuke and Shikamaru to pass the test. And they trusted me too. It was like we were a team, if only for a moment."

Amaya paused, her eyes gazing at the sky as she wrestled with her emotions. She couldn't deny the flicker of hope that had ignited within her during that test, the sense of camaraderie that had briefly enveloped them. But the fear still lingered, the fear that that was a one-time thing, that they did it just to pass the test, that even if not, everything could change once her teammates learned the truth about her.

"I'm scared, Mom," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Scared of what will happen when they find out about the Kyuubi. Will they still see me as Amaya, their teammate, or will I become a monster in their eyes?"

A gentle breeze brushed against Amaya's cheek, as if offering a comforting touch from the beyond. She closed her eyes, seeking solace in the presence of her mother's spirit.

"I wish you were here, Mom," she murmured, a tear sliding down her cheek. "The hokage says you always knew what to say. I wonder how you dealt with all of this. But I'll find the strength to face this on my own. I won't let the fear consume me. I'll be brave, just like you."

With newfound determination, Amaya rose to her feet, the weight of her worries still present but slightly lighter. She whispered her gratitude to the wind, knowing that her mother's spirit would guide her through the challenges that lay ahead.

"I love you, Mom," Amaya whispered, her words carried on the breeze. "Thank you for watching over me. I'll make you proud."

Of Potential and Reflections:

The sun cast its warm glow over the landscape as Team 7 embarked on another routine D-rank mission. Amaya, Sasuke, and Shikamaru moved with practiced efficiency, their steps synchronized as they navigated through the dense forest. It had been several weeks since the bell test, and while their teamwork had shown promise, a noticeable distance had formed among the team members.

Amaya's gaze remained focused ahead, her walls fortified, keeping her emotions tucked away. She had grown accustomed to being closed off, finding solace in her own thoughts and doubts. Sasuke, too, maintained his stoic facade, his eyes fixed on the mission at hand, revealing little of the turmoil within. Shikamaru, on the other hand, seemed unperturbed by their silence, finding solace in the tranquility it brought.

Kakashi, their team leader, observed the three from a distance, his visible eye narrowing slightly. He had expected their bonds to grow stronger after the bell test, but instead, they seemed to have retreated into their own worlds. He couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment, as if they had missed an opportunity for growth.

"Quiet the cheerful mood you have here!" Commented Kakashi as he decided to greet the team. Multiple blank faces answered his statement and Kakashi could only sigh internally at their reaction. This was worse than even his own genin team. He reminisced about the days of endless arguing with Obito, yet even then, the Uchiha's chatter somehow managed to lighten the mood. Rin and Minato-sensei, on the other hand, effortlessly exuded a calming and comforting energy that instantly put everyone at ease.

Outwardly, he eye-smiled. "I can clearly see you did what you were supposed to, however" and quite efficiently at that. "Good job, team"

The only reactions that he got this time were a content smile on Amaya's face. The girl clearly appreciated the praise. Kakashi couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for her. He knew that Amaya's life lacked the presence of a loving parental figure, and it wasn't surprising that she valued recognition and approval.

"Now, normally, we should head straight to report to the Hokage," Kakashi exclaimed, "but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if we took a brief detour for some light training."

A palpable buzz of excitement emanated from Sasuke, and to a lesser extent, Amaya. Though not outwardly vocal about it, Kakashi could sense that his team was eager for the chance to train under his tutelage and break free from the monotony of D-ranked missions.

As they finally gathered in a secluded training ground, Kakashi carefully explained the training session's purpose. To the slight disappointment of Sasuke and Amaya, it was a taijutsu-focused practice with light sparring. Sensing their underwhelmed expressions, Kakashi knew he needed to emphasize the importance of such seemingly mundane training.

He addressed them, "Training in taijutsu and engaging in light sparring may not seem as flashy as other techniques, but it's the foundation of a shinobi's skills. This practice will not only sharpen your hand-to-hand combat abilities but also provide you with valuable feedback during real battles."

Kakashi made a point to highlight the significance of the experience he brought to the table. Having an experienced jōnin like himself overseeing their training would accelerate their growth as ninja. Additionally, he recognized that these practice sessions could play a crucial role in strengthening the camaraderie within the team.

"Remember," Kakashi continued, "sparring with your teammates helps build trust and communication. Knowing each other's strengths and styles in battle can be the difference between success and failure when it truly counts."

Kakashi swiftly created a shadow clone, tasking it with observing Sasuke and Amaya's sparring session closely. The clone diligently shouted out corrections, pointed out specific remarks about their form and movement, and carefully observed as the two genin traded blows. Amaya showed impressive determination, even though she seemed to be on the losing side, managing to keep up with Sasuke's prowess.

The performance displayed by the two young ninja was indeed skillful, as expected from the top two graduates of their class. Yet, Kakashi couldn't help but notice that their techniques were mostly self-taught and lacked the refined touch that only a seasoned warrior could provide.

Meanwhile, the real Kakashi settled comfortably next to Shikamaru under the refreshing shade of a large tree, a soft breeze rustling the leaves above. Shikamaru appeared pleasantly surprised that his sensei wasn't pushing him into physical exercises, and a subtle sense of relief washed over him.

"Shikamaru," Kakashi began, his eye crinkling in a half-smile, "I want you to observe your teammates closely during their sparring session. Analyze their battles, and make note of their strengths and weaknesses. Your task is to figure out what each of them could do differently to gain the upper hand and win this match."

Kakashi's words were deliberate and thoughtful, emphasizing the significance of honing Shikamaru's observational skills. He continued, "Being able to analyze opponents in battle is a crucial trait for a leader and a strategist. As the brain of the team, you will often find yourself devising plans to exploit your adversaries' weaknesses. Understanding your teammates' skill sets will also prove invaluable in real-world scenarios."

Shikamaru nodded attentively, recognizing the weight of his sensei's words. He was well aware of his role as the team's strategist and the immense responsibility it carried. His analytical mind was his greatest asset, and Kakashi's guidance would undoubtedly sharpen this crucial skill.

"With your sharp intellect, Shikamaru, you have the potential to predict your opponents' moves and devise strategies that can turn the tide of any battle," Kakashi continued, his voice encouraging. "Don't just focus on their techniques; also observe their habits, their tendencies, and their emotional state during combat. All these factors will give you valuable insights into their decision-making processes."

Shikamaru absorbed Kakashi's guidance, feeling motivated to take up the challenge. He understood that becoming a formidable strategist required not only strategic thinking but also deep empathy and understanding of his teammates' strengths and limitations.

"To lead your team effectively, you must know them as well as you know yourself," Kakashi advised, leaning back against the tree trunk. "In time, you'll find that this knowledge will allow you to create battle plans that maximize each team member's potential, leading to victory even in the most challenging situations."

As Amaya and Sasuke clashed, Shikamaru noticed Amaya's hesitation during critical moments. Her skills were commendable, but at times when presented with an opportunity to strike, she seemed to momentarily doubt her ability to execute the move perfectly. This hesitation often cost her the chance to gain an advantage in the match.

Shikamaru also couldn't help but notice that Amaya displayed overcaution in certain situations. When faced with Sasuke's more aggressive attacks, she would sometimes lean heavily towards a defensive strategy, holding back from taking calculated risks that could turn the tide in her favor.

"Amaya tends to hesitate just a bit too much," Shikamaru remarked, voicing his observations to Kakashi, who sat next to him. "She second-guesses herself in critical moments and ends up missing opportunities to capitalize on her opponent's vulnerabilities."

Kakashi nodded in acknowledgment, impressed by Shikamaru's astute observations. "Indeed," he replied, "her hesitations might stem from a fear of failure. She needs to trust in her abilities and have confidence in her skills.

"And there's another thing," Shikamaru continued, his brow furrowing slightly, "Although she is fast and unpredictable, she sometimes tries too hard to catch her opponent off guard which at times wastes precious time and makes her open to an attack."

Kakashi's single visible eye crinkled with approval. He couldn't blame the girl for that as she is only a genin with no jutsu under her belt, so she is trying to compensate by using her unpredictable style to the fullest.

Shikamaru then turned his focus to Sasuke's performance. He noticed that the Uchiha often displayed an eagerness to prove himself during the match, leading him to occasionally take unnecessary risks in his attacks.

"Sasuke is an exceptional fighter, but he tends to get over-eager to showcase his abilities," Shikamaru observed, "His eagerness makes him susceptible to falling into traps or exposing himself to counterattacks."

Shikamaru also noticed that Sasuke occasionally neglected defensive maneuvers in favor of focusing solely on his offense. This oversight left him vulnerable to counterattacks and damaged his overall performance.

"Also, Sasuke seems to forget about defense at times," Shikamaru pointed out, "He's so focused on attacking that he leaves himself open to counterstrikes."

Kakashi nodded appreciatively at Shikamaru's acute analysis. "It's a common mistake among skilled fighters," he said, "Sasuke should remember that a good defense is just as important as a strong offense."

Shikamaru's observations highlighted crucial areas for improvement in both Amaya's and Sasuke's fighting styles.

Moments later, the dust settled as Amaya hit the ground, her feet swept from under her by Sasuke's well-timed maneuver. The Kakashi clone signaled the end of the sparring session, and they all caught their breaths. Sasuke couldn't help but wear a triumphant smile, relishing the taste of victory, while Amaya sighed in good-hearted disappointment. However, she gracefully accepted Sasuke's proffered hand, allowing him to help her back up.

Shikamaru, who had been attentively observing the entire match, heard Kakashi's praise as they rejoined the other members of their team. "That was some exceptional analysis," Kakashi commended, his visible eye crinkling with pride. "The ability to analyze opponents in the midst of battle is a crucial skill you'll need to master. Your keen insights will be invaluable not just for your teammates' growth but also in honing your own strategic acumen."

Kakashi's satisfaction with the training session was evident. His clone's feedback had facilitated subtle improvements in both Amaya's and Sasuke's techniques throughout the sparring session. Moreover, Shikamaru's impeccable observation skills were proving to be an asset to the team's progress.

As Shikamaru took up his role as instructed and provided constructive feedback to his teammates, Kakashi couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Their attentive expressions and willingness to learn and grow together were promising signs. Maybe, just maybe, Team 7 had the potential to become an exceptional unit, with each member contributing their unique strengths.

Of bonding and unity :

The sun was beginning to cast its warm glow over the training ground as Kakashi arrived, a tad less late than his usual timing. Team 7 was already assembled, waiting for their enigmatic sensei, who strolled in with that characteristic nonchalant demeanor.

"Yo, everyone. Sorry for my slight delay," Kakashi greeted with a casual wave.

Sasuke crossed his arms, his expression clearly showing his impatience. "Finally decided to grace us with your presence, sensei?"

Amaya chimed in, a sly smile on her lips. "Yeah, we were starting to think we'd have to send a search party."

Kakashi chuckled beneath his mask, unfazed by their banter. He reached into his vest and pulled out a book with an absurdly long title printed on the cover. "Well, since I'm here now, I brought something interesting for us today."

Kakashi held out the book he had been reading. The title was comically long and read, "Mastering the Art of Team Dynamics: How to Train Your Genin to Not Kill Each Other – Tips, Tricks, and Techniques for Team Building by Jiraiya the gallant."

Sasuke's eyebrow twitched in disbelief. "Seriously, sensei?"

Amaya couldn't help a small quirk of her lips, clearly finding the whole situation amusing. "That's quite the title. Is that an actual book?"

Kakashi chuckled behind his mask. "It is indeed, and I've been reading it lately. Thought it might be useful to explore some of its advice."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "And what kind of advice does it offer?"

Kakashi flipped through the pages, his visible eye scanning the contents. "Well, it has chapters on conflict resolution, communication skills, and team building exercises." He paused for dramatic effect. "Speaking of which, we're going to start with a little team building exercise today."

Amaya's brows furrowed. "Team building exercise? What's that supposed to mean?"

Kakashi's eye crinkled with amusement. "We're going to play a game called 'Never Have I Ever.'"

Sasuke's expression turned incredulous. "Seriously? Isn't that game for parties and stuff?"

Amaya couldn't help but agree, "Yeah, I mean, isn't this a bit childish?"

Shikamaru, leaning against a tree, let out a sigh. "Troublesome."

Kakashi chuckled. "I know it might sound odd, but according to this book, it helps in getting to know each other better and building trust."

Kakashi then adjusted his headband and cleared his throat, his single visible eye focused on his attentive team. "Alright, let's get started with the rules of 'Never Have I Ever.' It's quite simple. We'll take turns going around, and each person will say something they've never done. If someone else in the group has done it, they take a step forward. The goal is to find out interesting things about each other."

Sasuke was clearly skeptical about the game. Shikamaru, though resigned, seemed to be silently calculating the potential outcomes, and Amaya seemed to accept with a slight sigh.

"However," Kakashi continued with a mischievous glint in his eye, "there's a little twist. Whoever loses the game will have to face a punishment."

Sasuke's eyebrow arched, his curiosity piqued. "What kind of punishment?"

Kakashi's smile widened beneath his mask. "Depends on the situation. Just something light and amusing, I promise."

Amaya folded her arms, now looking intrigued. "Alright then, sensei. Let's see what you've got."

Kakashi motioned to the open space in front of them. "Alright, who wants to start?"

The genin exchanged glances, all avoiding being the first to volunteer. Kakashi sighed and rolled his eye. The book did mention that it is always the teacher's job to set an example. "Fine, I'll start."

He turned to face his team, his finger tapping thoughtfully against his chin. "Never have I ever... been early to training."

Sasuke and Amaya exchanged glances, and as Kakashi expected, both of them took a step forward. Shikamaru, on the other hand, remained in place, his expression unfazed.

Shikamaru smiled, "I always came at the agreed time, but never before."

Amaya smiled at him, shaking her head. "Of course, you'd want to squeeze in any additional minute of sleep possible." She said, before putting a hand to her mouth, realizing what she said. She feared he would take it the wrong way but to her relief the Nara smiled wider and spoke "You betcha, Amaya"

"Alright, Amaya, your turn," Kakashi prompted.

Amaya gave a smile, clearly ready for this. "Never have I ever... lost track of time while training and ended up skipping a meal."

Sasuke hesitated for a moment, then took a step forward. Shikamaru joined him, and Kakashi chuckled as he, too, took a step forward.

Kakashi nodded approvingly. "Good one, Amaya."

"I never skip ramen time, you know." She grinned.

"My mom is a slave driver, she doesn't care about things like meal time when she thinks we should be training." Shikamaru explained.

Shikamaru's turn came next, and he looked at his teammates with a lazy grin. "Never have I ever willingly woken up early.."

Sasuke took a step forward, and even Kakashi chuckled as he moved a step as well. Amaya followed suit, an amused expression on her face.

Sasuke smirked, clearly relishing his turn. "Never have I ever... passed a day not training without feeling guilty."

Shikamaru took a step forward. Kakashi joined him, his eye crinkling with amusement.

"You never went a full day without training and not feeling guilty?" Shikamaru asked Amaya and Sasuke, incredulous. That sounded terrifying. For him, rest days were a gift from god

"Rest days are important, you know." Kakashi explained but decided not to dwell on it, it was a lesson he had to impart to them another day.

As the game continued, they learned more about each other's quirks and experiences. Some revelations led to laughter, while others led to good-natured teasing. By the time they finished, they had discovered surprising connections and similarities that hadn't been apparent before.

"Well, that was... interesting," Sasuke admitted, a hint of amusement in his tone.

Amaya smiled slightly. "Yeah, I guess it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."

Shikamaru yawned. "Still troublesome, but I suppose it wasn't the worst thing."

Kakashi grinned at his team. "See? Team-building exercises can be fun."

They may have been forced into it, but the game had given them a chance to connect in a way they hadn't expected.

"Oh what about the punishment, Sensei?" Amaya asked, "Looks like you're the loser, what kind of punishment are you gonna do?"

"Mah, I'll treat you all to dinner later, how does that sound?" He drawled, his single visible eye crinkled with intrigue as his attention was on the pages of the book rather than his students. He glanced up at his team, who seemed to be ready to move on to more serious matters. "Alright, alright, I know you're all eager to train, but here's another interesting one we could try. It's called 'Would You Rather?' It's all about making tough choices. Let's see how well you all handle these scenarios."

Sasuke let out an exasperated sigh, while Amaya raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Shikamaru just stared at Kakashi as if he had already resigned himself to the inevitable.

Kakashi's visible eye crinkled into a smile. "Don't worry, we won't spend too much time on this. Just a few rounds to lighten the mood. Sounds good?"

Sasuke crossed his arms, but a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Fine, sensei. Let's get it over with."

Amaya shrugged, her interest piqued. "Sure, if that's what you want."

Shikamaru let out a resigned sigh. "Troublesome, but go ahead."

Kakashi's eye glinted mischievously. "Okay, let's start. Would you rather have to eat nothing but dango for a week or have to run laps around the village non-stop for a day?"

Amaya smiled, her lips quirking into a slight playful smile. "I'll take the laps. I can't fathom a week without Ramen."

Sasuke crossed his arms, his competitive nature showing. "I'll take the laps too. I'm used to endurance training, and at least I wouldn't have to deal with a sugar rush."

Kakashi chuckled. "Smart choice, both of you."

Shikamaru scratched his head, mulling it over. "As troublesome as it sounds, I think I'd go with the dango too. Running around non-stop would be... well, you know."

Kakashi nodded approvingly. Kakashi then blinked once then twice before reading off the next one, "Fair enough. Alright, next one. Would you rather fight a hundred squirrel-sized Jiraiyas or one Jiraiya-sized squirrel?" You can count on Jiraiya to come up with such ridiculous scenarios, he thought amusedly.

"Jiraiya? That's one of the sannin, isn't he? It's a tough one! I guess... one Jiraiya-sized squirrel? At least it's just one, right?" Amaya spoke a hint of amusement danced across her features, accompanied by a faint upward curve of their mouth.

Shikamaru smirked. "I'd go with the hundred squirrel-sized Jiraiyas. I mean, they're small and probably not nearly as strong as the original. Plus, I wouldn't want to face off against a massive squirrel."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "I'll go with the squirrel-sized Jiraiyas too. I can handle a hundred small opponents better than one gigantic and unpredictable one."

Kakashi laughed heartily. "I'd probably take one Jiraiya-sized squirrel. Trust me you don't want to deal with a hundred Jiraiyas, no matter how small." He explained, "Alright, let's hear some from you now. Amaya, why don't you start?"

"Honestly, how could I compete with the last one?" She smiled, "I can try though." She scrunched her face in thought before an idea popped up in her mind, "How about this: Would you rather spend a day training with Orochimaru or attend a lecture on the history of Konoha with Iruka-sensei?"

Sasuke groaned. "Definitely training with Orochimaru. I'd rather not be bored to death."

Amaya's lips curved upwards. "I'm with Sasuke on this one. Training with Orochimaru would be more fun, it's just one day, surely it wouldn't be that bad."

"You know, I would lecture you for choosing to spend a day with a traitor rather than listening to a lecture from a fellow Konoha ninja," Kakashi said, his tone playful. "That is, if I wouldn't have done the same."

Shikamaru scratched his head. "I'd probably choose the history lecture. At least I could catch up on some sleep."

As the rounds continued, the genin's initial reluctance gave way to genuine enjoyment. They found themselves laughing and bantering as they debated the hypothetical scenarios. Eventually, they even started coming up with their own 'Would You Rather?' questions, each one more ridiculous than the last.

Kakashi watched his team with a satisfied smile, glad to see them loosening up and having fun. As they wrapped up the game and finally transitioned into training, he couldn't help but feel that these moments of camaraderie were just as important as the rigorous training they undertook.

"Okay, now it's time to climb some trees." He eventually said, making the genin look at him as if he were crazy.
