Ted leads us to the second floor . He opens a door to the glass building. We enter the building and line up next to each other. Ted walks back and forth in front of me
"Tonight you will meet the leader who will watch the training with me ." Ted smirks." Before that we are going to do something different."
"What are we going to do ." Abby asks
"So in order for us to understand you guys much better. We will look at your fear landscape." Ted explains
I look at him. I know that fear landscape is very important for dauntless .
"How ?" I ask
Ted takes out a serum. It has orange liquid inside it.
"So this is the fear landscape serum and it contains the transmitters which transfer your fear into our computer . We will be able to see it from there " ted shrugs." Who wants to go first."
"What if someone has less fears than other , that's not fair." Peter exclaims
"I believe that it is not important for how many do you have . It is how you go through it." I walk beside Ted." Is that right?"
Ted nods at me . He brings me into the room. He closes the door behind me .
"Good job." Ted pats me on my back
I lean against the door . Ted opens the box of serum and walks toward me .
"Try to relax yourself . How about you come and sit down first then I will inject you." Ted says
I walk toward the recline chair . I sit down on it . I brush my hair to the side . Ted then injects me with the serum. I wince a little. After he presses the button, I passed out.
I wake up in the same room but everything disappeared . The door then opens . Ted comes in. Why is he in my fear landscape? Is that because I am scared of him or something is going to happen.
"I love you so much Delia." Ted walks toward me ." I want to be forever with you."
"No ted , please not here ." I am shivering .
He leans into me and kisses me . I want to push him away but then I hear gun shot.
He falls on the floor. I scream. Three men are standing in front of me and they are wearing face mask.
"Why are you guys doing it." I get off the chair
Even I don't love ted but I don't want him to die .
"Ted please wake up." I cry
I know that either I calm down or directly face my fear . I have to wake up as soon as I can. I rest my head on his chest and breath slowly and slowly. Then everything disappeared and I am awake above the water fall.
"It is chasm." One of the masked man tells me
"What did you guys do to ted!" I scream
"We killed them." One of the men answers
I am angry. Why they killed him so easily and have no feeling
"What did you say?" I ask
"We killed him." He repeats
I throw myself at him and I punch him in the gut. And other one on their face . The third one tries to run away from me but I chase after him.
"I am sorry. Please don't kill me ." He is begging me
"You killed ted." I take out the gun and shoot him .
I am awake with screaming and I am sweating all over .
"It's fine Delia." Someone holds me up." No one can hurt you anymore . You don't need to experience this for a long time ."
"Who is it."I look at the man
"You don't remember me ? I am Alan Davis ." Alan holds me
I shake my head . I lost almost all the memories before 13.
"You didn't know that I lost my memories before 13. I was adopted by Jeanine Matthew ." I lower my head
"Oh I see. That's okay . I will help you to find memories back. I will bring you to rest." Alan smiles
He brings me out of the room and ted comes toward us .
"I can help her ." Ted tries to help me
"No ted , you will hurt her because you were very close to her before ." Alan kicks the door opens and brings me into a dark. Room
I sit down next to him. He puts his electrodes on his forehead
"Ted was in my fear landscape but I was never scared of ted before ." I shake my head
"What was the fear about? It isn't about who are inside it." Alan watches the simulation
"He was kissing me and then he was killed. I killed those men who killed him. Am I a horrible person?" I asked
Alan looks at me . I can see jealousy in his eyes.
"No , that's mean you are a caring person." Alan brushes my hair
I then see another abnegation boy walks in. He looks familiar but I don't know who he is . I watch the simulation together with Alan until marcus Eaton comes into the room with the belt in his hand
"Can he be Tobias Eaton?" I am shocked
"Yes he can be him." Alan frowns." Marcus Eaton only has one son and his wife is dead."
"That's bad ." I cover my face." He is a horrible person."
Then Tobias's fear landscape stops. Only four fears for a man is incredible . Alan and I walk into the room
"Four fears for a man is incredible . I only have three fears but it already many years ago. You broke the current record . We should call you four ." Alan pats him on his back
"Then my name will be four ." Four smiles
Alan leads us out of the room . Ted is talking to Amar
"So Amar will join us . Alan is the lieutenant so he will not always be here so when he is not here , Amar will replace him. " Ted explains." Follows me , I will bring you two to the dorm."
Ted brings me and four with him. I look back at alan. He somehow is familiar to me and I don't know where did I meet him before
"Ted did you know that I met Alan before or not?" I ask
"No I don't think so . However you do look exactly like the girl in his drawing. However he doesn't show anyone that drawing." Ted shrugs
He reaches a big door . He pushes the door opens and everyone are there
"Here is your dorm. You will stay here living with everyone else before you become members of dauntless." Ted explains." I will come back after 10 minute to bring you to cafeteria ."Ted turns around and leaves .
I walk toward the bed next to Abby. A girl waves at me
"My name is Elizabeth and this is my sister Elisa." Elizabeth giggles." You can sleep next to me ."
"I like to stay with Abby." I nod at her." But nice to meet you."
I sit down next to Abby's bed . Abby already changed into her cloth. I look at Eric . Eric is talking with Jason and William about something and they are all laughing with each other .
I quickly take off my robe and change into the uniform .
"Are you okay?" I ask Abby." You look pale."
"My legs feel itchy." Abby scratches her legs
"Any insects bite you?" I frown
Abby shakes her head . Now the door opens, Ted comes in .
"So now it is time for us to go to dinner ." Ted beckons to us .
I follow him and Abby holds my hand . We take our old clothes and burn them in fire . We are not where we are from but now we are dauntless. We enter cafeteria and only two tables are available
I sit down between ted and Abby. Ted starts to eat already
I look at the plate in front of me . One plate of red sauce , one plate of breads and one plate of meat . I don't know what can I make out of it.
"It is hamburger . Put meat and red sauce between two pieces of breads." Ted chews on his hamburger
"You never eat a hamburger before?" Elizabeth is shocked
"What do you eat in abnegation?" Jack is curious
I don't know how to answer . Ted smirks at us
"Plain food ." He answers so casually
"No wander why you left." Elisa giggles
"Yeah it is all because of foods." I roll my eyes
Suddenly people start to hit the cup on the table
"Initiates , stand up."
We all stand up. I lift my chin and look above us . Max is standing alongside the ledge with Alan Davis
"You have chosen a warrior faction . Your duty is to protect the citizens of this city. We believe in the ordinary act of bravery . In the courage to stand up for those people who can't stand up for themselves . Respect that and do us proud." Max turns around and leaves
People start cheering and I look at Alan. He is looking all of us. He is so handsome .
"Yeah welcome to dauntless." The man beside him claps his hand .
Alan leaves and I don't know why he doesn't want to stay here .
I sneak out of the room. I want to go find him
"Ouch." I scream
"I am sorry ." Max apologized." Delia?"
"I am sorry max." I lower my head." I didn't mean that."
Max shakes his head . He takes my hand .
"That doesn't matter . It is me . I am thinking something else ." Max sighs." Where are you going?"
"She is coming to see me . I asked her to wait me here ." Alan walks toward us
"Okay, I will leave her to you."
Max walks away. Why he is helping me here
"Hey Delia." Alan says
"Hey Alan." I lower my head
"Why are you brushing." Alan brushes my face
I shake my head . I don't know too. He is so approachable.
"I don't know . Maybe in front of you that I just can't control myself ." I tilt my head
"You like me ?" He leans into me .
"No , not like that."
