Ch.3 Attempting a Rescue

I'm going to start uploading twice a week now because I've written far enough ahead that I should have the ending written by the time we get there. I am aiming for 10 chapters with potentially an epilogue, I am currently drafting Chapter 7 right now, so with the pace I've had we should be ok; as long as college doesn't kick my butt too badly when I get down there.

But now it's time to see what these kids are made of!

Baljeet-So where exactly did the slide take you?

Phineas-I'm pretty sure Isabella and I ended up in Perry's secret agent lair. There were gadgets and vehicles, but the vehicles and chairs in the room were Perry-sized.

Baljeet-Do you know why it closed after you and Isabella went down there?

Isabella-Oh, so that's why no one else came down after I did.

Baljeet-My guess is that the slide was for emergencies only. I think that the slide closed after the first two people went down it, so maybe it was designed to be Phineas and Ferb that went down, since they are the ones that would need to be contacted for any Perry emergencies..

Phineas-That kind of makes sense

The gang approached Doofenshmirtz's building to hear a faint jingle.

Buford-Did that building just sing?

Baljeet-How are we supposed to get up there? That balcony must be 200 feet high!

Phineas-Isabella and I grabbed grappling hooks to try and ascend the building.

Isabella tossed a hook to Buford and handed one to Candace, while Phineas handed one to his older step-brother, and one to Baljeet.

Phineas-Just aim your shot to the side of the building and pull the trigger. If you miss the ledge at the top, use the sticky setting on your costumes, which will activate when you push down on your right wrist and say "sticky shoes." The sticky effect will go away if you touch your right wrist again. Remember to do that when we reach the top so nobody is stationary long enough for the robots to find us. When we reach the top, I will use these wire cutters to open Perry's cage. I need you guys to try to find a key to remove Perry's handcuffs. Does everybody understand?

Candace-Yep

Ferb gave a thumbs up.

Buford-Oh yeah, Doofenshmirtz is going down.

Isabella-Let's do it

Phineas-Baljeet?

Baljeet-Oh, sorry Phineas. Yes, I am good.

Phineas-Then let's go rescue Perry!

The climb up the side of the building left a lot to be desired. Ferb got up to the ledge first try but stayed on the side of the building since most of his friends were much farther down. Isabella however, wasn't far from Ferb so with just a little climbing thanks to her sticky shoes, she made it up to Ferb.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled story for this brief author's note.

During the rest of the scene at Doofernshmirtz's building, all of the kids will be whispering. I tell you this because I didn't want to write down "whispering" next to each kid's name.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Isabella-Nice shot Ferb!

Ferb smiled at Isabella and continued to look down, Baljeet and Candace were only about halfway up the building so it would be a minute before they got to the top. Phineas was only about 20 feet from Ferb and Isabella and Buford was right behind him. After a little waiting Candace and finally Baljeet reached the top of the building.

Phineas-Guys remember, press down on your wrist to disable the sticky setting on the costume. Is everybody ready?

The group all nodded trying not to make too much noise.

Phineas-Alright then, let's do this!

And with that the group jumped over the ledge and on to Doofenshmirtz's balcony. The ninja suits got to work instantly, taking the kids onto walls and up to the ceiling to avoid Doofenshmirtz. Upon scanning the ground there were two robots surrounding Perry's cage but no other robots on the floor now. The time to strike was upon them.

Isabella-Phineas! How are you going to open Perry's cage with those robots guarding it?

Phineas-Oh no! I forgot the robots were guarding the cage. We'll need them to get distracted long enough for me to cut open the wires. But I don't know how long I'll need.

Phineas looked at the ground again for just a second before the ninja suits took them to a wall across from the ledge they came in from.

Buford-It's gonna be impossible to find this key if we keep teleporting everywhere!

Phineas-Maybe we don't need the key. There might be something at home we can use to get him out of his cuffs. I didn't want to have to resort to this but we might need a diversion so I can break Perry out.

Candace-It is what it is, Phineas. Let's just do this, my head hurts from hanging on this wall.

Phineas-You guys need to distract the robots but also get into a position where you can get to the ledge and jump off.

Buford-Alright let's do this!

The kids turned their suits off. As they landed, the noise from the fall was enough to get the robots attention.

-Who's over there?

Candace-They can talk!

The whispering thing I was talking about is now over. You may now increase the volume in your head.

Most of the kids ran around the room towards the ledge trying to distract the robots. Phineas stayed in the corner of the room waiting for the perfect time to go get Perry. Phineas made his way to the cage while the other kids were being chased along the outside of the room, and he was cutting the cage open. Once the cage was open he cut Perry cuffs apart. Perry still was wearing them but could at least move his arms freely now.

Robot-Oh I see what's happening now.

One of the robots turned the arm that once looked like a cannon into a lasso and threw it towards the kids catching Baljeet. The other robot was facing towards Phineas and the escaped Perry and trying to lasso them. Phineas turned towards the ledge and ran that direction but the robot threw the lasso and perfectly caught Phineas. Once Phineas was lassoed up he turned and saw all of his friends also tied up and then Perry was next.

A man walks in the room slowly clapping. His head shaped oddly similarly to that of Phineas.

-Oh, now what do we have here? Perry the Platypus, were you expecting guests?

The man's voice was much higher than the kids expected.

Phineas-Who are you?

-I'm Doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and you all are in big big trouble. Now that I have captured Perry the Platypus, and now apparently you kids, nothing will stop me and my robots from taking over the entire tri-state area!

Uh-oh. So maybe that didn't go as expected for the kids. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next. Will Doof take over the Tri-State area? I guess we'll find out next time…
