Chapter Four: Sorrow with a little pinch of revenge
A/N: PLEASE, DON'T KILL ME. I was going to keep updating until this part of the franchise was done, but I overwhelmed myself with writing part 3 and just wasn't motivated at all to do anything.
With that said, I am truly sorry that I kept you guys waiting. Especially on a cliffhanger of all things! I'll try to get into the swing of things. The process will be slow.
I want to thank all those who followed and hopefully will still follow the rest of the 2nd movie! One more added note, and you can continue with the story. Thank you all so much for your patience!
This chapter is all original from yours truly. Of course, all the characters are still owned by Wes Craven. I only owe, Tiffany. It is a short chapter, but if I had added more from the movie, it would've been a long story. I'm proud of this chapter and will be excited to hear what you guys think. Please enjoy and leave a review.
I was left standing in the ER room after the doctors and nurses rushed to the OR room. For how long I've been standing here, I can't give you that time. Things be to moving in slow motion for me. My time had stopped the moment I seen, Randy, lying in his blood in the news van. I think someone is talking to me and possibly leading me elsewhere. I wasn't sure.
"Tiffany?"
I felt a hand on my shoulder, making snap out of my trance and looking into the eyes of Sidney. She looks worried. Was it towards me or for Randy. Of course, it was for Randy. How selfish could I be? She smiles, pulling me into a hug. Coming out of the trance, I took a deep breath. I wasn't hugging entirely back, as I noticed blood on my hands and didn't want to get it on her jacket. She pulls back, still having her hands on my arms. I look down at my blood covered hands.
"Hey, why don't we get you cleaned up." Sidney suggests.
We walk into the restroom. She turned on the water, and I managed to move my hands under it. The warm water was soothing somehow.
"Tiff, I know you probably don't want to talk right now. Is there any update on Randy?"
I closed my eyes, shaking my head. My hands still felt sticky, even under the warm water. The blood wasn't coming off my hands.
"Why isn't this coming off!?" I shouted, slamming my fist on the counter.
"Let me help."
Letting her help, the blood seemed to wash away more. My hands were still stained a little, like I made, have dyed my hair and forgot to put the gloves on.
"Thanks."
Sid smiles.
"Let's get back out to the lobby. Dewey, Gale, Derek, Hallie, and Mickey are here."
I nodded and walked out of the bathroom and back into the lobby. As said, everyone in our small group was here. Dewey looks at me sympathetically, giving me a hug.
"Holding on there, Tiff?"
I slightly nod my head. Gale comes next and gives me one, too. Surprisingly, I hugged her back. I swallowed, wanting to tell her something.
"Gale." We pull back from the hug. "I don't think I ever thanked you for saving our lives. So, thank you."
"There isn't a need to thank me." She smiles slightly.
"Hey you."
I turned, finding Mickey behind me. He opened his arms, and I stepped into them as he wrapped his arms around me, hugging me. I felt a lump in my throat as I wanted to cry in his chest.
"I'm here to give a report for a, Mr. Meeks?"
We all turned towards a thirty-year-old something, long black hair, woman.
"Yes?" I went up to her immediately.
She smiles a little.
"He lost a lot of blood. Thankfully, he was lucky to have you there."
Several gasps could be heard behind me. A hand on my shoulder.
"Are you saying he's alive?" Sidney asks.
She nods her head.
"However, he is touch and go at the moment. Lost him once on the table. he's been as stable since. We'll have to keep him for more than a few days for observation."
"Can we see him?" Dewey asks.
"He isn't awake. I'll allow two at a time."
"Thank you, Dr…." I said, wanting to thank her.
"Dr. Barnes." She smiled.
"Thank you, Dr. Barnes."
"He's lucky to have a friend like you. Let me take you to him."
"Sid, Tiff, how you guys go in first." Dewey suggested.
We nod and follow Dr. Barnes into the ICU area. Only a few doors down, she opens a door.
"You can go in. If he happens to wake up, let me know. I'll be outside."
"Thank-you." Sid and I say.
I was hesitating, did I want to see my best friend like this. I was starting to find it hard to breathe a little. I felt a hand holding mine.
"Let's go in together."
Taking a deep breath, with Sid next to me, we walked in together. It was dark in the room, except for the illuminating light coming from a small lamp in the corer of the room.
"Oh, Randy." I mumbled.
Sid started to rub small circles on my back. Randy was lying down un the hospital bed, an oxygen mask over his face, IV in his right arm, several other tubes of medicine going into his IV. Pulse OX device on his left pointer finger. The heart monitors on the right side of the bed, lighting up and beeping with the rhythm of his heart. Making it double indicating that he is alive. I sat at his left side of the bed and Sidney on his right.
"Oh, Randy. I am so sorry." Sidney says.
I scrunched my eyebrows together, looking at her confused.
"Why are you sorry? I was the one who was with him."
"I just feel like if wasn't for me, then no one else would be getting killed or attacked."
"Sid, we were all there that night. No matter what, either way, we stand by you."
"Thanks.
We sat in silence for a little while after that. Just listening to the heart monitor beeping, next to us, was soothing. Knowing that my best friend is still with us. Sid stands up, stretching out her back.
"I'm going to go see if anyone wants to come in."
I smiled and nodded, not taking my eyes off Randy's fall and rising of his chest. There was a knock on the door. Dewey and Gale were standing at the door.
"Why don't we take a walk." I look up at Dewey.
Knowing that look, I wasn't going to get out of this. But, I had to try.
"I don't want to leave. I want to make sure I'm here if he wakes up."
"I'll stay with him. If he does. I can come get you." Gale says, as she sits down next to Randy.
Sighing, I stand up and grab Randy's hand. It was cold but warm at the same time.
"I'll be right back."
I walked out with Dewey as we started to walk down the hallway. We stopped at a nearby vending machine. He gives me a; we need to talk look.
"What do you want me to say, Dewey?" I questioned. "That, this isn't my fault, and I shouldn't be blaming myself. News flash, it is. It is my fault. If I hadn't walked away from, he wouldn't be in the hospital. I walked away for one minute, Dewey. ONE MINUTE!"
I didn't care if anyone was looking our way. Looking at Dewey, I knew he was just listening at this point. So, I continued my rant.
"Not only have I failed to protect, Randy. I failed to protect Tatum, too."
"I already told you, her death, wasn't your fault. Randy being stabbed, isn't yours either as it's not Sid's. Do you understand?" He was firmly grasping my arms, but not too hard to hurt me.
"I know, I just…" I think I finally felt it. "I love him, Dewey. I can't live without him. I know that sounds selfish, I know. If he dies, I don't know what I would. I can't live without him." I finished.
"I know you can't. I know."
He pulled me into a hug. As soon as he squeezed me, everything that I was holding back came all out at once. I don't know how long we were like that for. I finally was able to stop. I composed myself, Dewey handed me a tissue. I smiled and thanked him.
"Dewey, please tell me, we are going to find this, Fucker."
"We are going to get him. I promise you that."
"When we do, I am going to personally kill him this time."
I could tell Dewey was worried about me taking revenge like this. I think he didn't mind though, as we wanted to get back at him too. We walked back to Randy's room; the doctor was walking out of it. My eyes widen, already fearing the worse. I fast paced myself towards his room, the doctor noticed. Instead of having sadden in her eyes, she had a smile on her lips.
"I think someone was asking for you."
I smiled, in what felt like forever. I ran towards the door, Gale was standing up, holding Randy's hand. The heart monitor was till beeping but seemed to be at a normal rate. I looked at Randy's eyes, they were closed, but he looked peaceful. I think he sensed me nearby, as he slowly opened his eyes.
"Hey, you." I walked slowly; afraid I might be dreaming.
"Hey." He said, weakly.
His hand was risen but being so weak it was slow. I quickly, gently took his hand into mine.
"I'm here, I won't leave your side. I'm here. I won't leave you."
He smiled, as he was closing his eyes. I widened my eyes, but the heart monitor was still steadily beeping."Don't worry, he's just sleeping." Gale says.
I sat down, his hand still in mine. I was glad he had woken and that he would be alright.
