Hello and Welcome back!
Also if you find any grammatical errors, could you point it out for me?
As the three children played in the backyard, Bandit was in his office, finishing a report he had.
As he was typing, his stomach growled and thought about getting a snack before finishing the report.
As Bandit went to the kitchen, he was thinking about Fynn. They had adopted him for a few years ago and they loved him already they first met all those years ago.
Bandit stopped when he heard the joyous laughing of his three children in the backyard.
"Music to my ears" said Bandit to himself while a smile could be seen in his face.
Sometimes Bandit wished for Fynn to call Dad instead of his name. Despite what he said to him, it would've been been nice to hear him say that to him or Mom to Chilli.
Just one word with three letters.
It would mean a lot to Bandit.
When Bandit arrived at the kitchen to find that Chilli finished washing the dishes and was wiping the counter. Bandit opened the fridge and sees Sauerkraut and decides to take it out without closing the fridge
Then he wondered if Fynn told Chilli about last night
"Hey, babe?" said Bandit as he was getting a fork to enjoy his Sauerkraut
"Yeah?" said Chilli, not facing Bandit but a beeping sound could be heard causing Chilli to turn to her hushand
"Did Fynn told you about what happened last night? " questioned Bandit, eating the Sauerkraut and sneezing afterwards
"Not yet, why?" answered Chilli while closing the fridge behind her husband and also giving Bandit the glare when she wants him to know he did something wrong
Bandit noticed her glaring at him and looked behind him and looked at the fridge, causing him to feel embarrassed and rubbing the back of his head
" Sorry" apologised Bandit and continued "Anyway, I think you should know what it was last night" said Bandit and relayed to her Fynn's dream
"Huh." said Chilli as Bandit finished talking
Then, she remembered what happened before they made breakfast together with Fynn.
"Bandit, this morning Fynn had a headache and said he was fine." said Chilli to a confused Bandit
" Okay? But what does that have to do with Fynn's memories?" asked Bandit confused at his wife's sudden change of topic
Chilli rolled her eyes at her husband's confused expression
" He might have remembered a memory at that time, Bandit" explained Chilli
" Oh, but are you sure about that? And don't you think he would tell you if he did?" argued Bandit
"Call it a mother's instinct for the well-being of her child. And I don't know why he wouldn't tell me, though." explained Chilli
" Do you think he doesn't trust us?" questioned Chilli with a worried expression plastered on her face
That caught Bandit off guard
" What?! " exclaimed Bandit putting the Sauerkraut down on the table and sneezing afterwards
Bandit rubbed his nose at his sneezing and looked at Chilli and put his arms around her, hugging her
" Of course, he trusts us. What made you think that?" asked Bandit, comforting his wife
Chilli leaned unto him and stayed silent for awhile before answering her husband
" It's just that.." Chilli sighed " Well, it would be nice for him to call me Mum instead of my name.. " said Chilli, tearing up a bit
'You too, huh?'thought Bandit as he continues to comfort her
"I know it's a little bit selfish of me say that after what we said to him that it's okay to call us by our name but I -" Chilli was interrupted by Bandit, shushing her
" Shh. It's okay, babe. I feel the same." said Bandit, rubbing her back
"If Fynn isn't going tell us about it, he probably has a reason why he doesn't want to tell us. We should wait for him to tell us. We will be there for him when he's ready to us. I know I will and I know you will also. " said Bandit, sneezing a bit
Chilli smiled at her husband's words, thankful for comforting her.
" Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Bandit. You always know what to say to me. " said Chilli, giving nose kiss to her husband
" Heh, anything for my one true love." said Bandit in a romantic manner also bowing his head to Chilli.
"Charming" chided Chilli, rolling her eyes and smiling a bit at her Bandit's antics
They shared a brief kiss and continued to their routine. Bandit eating the Sauerkraut and Chilli continues to clean.
They didn't notice a certain child of theirs in the hallway just outside of the kitchen, eavesdropping in their conversation.
A few minutes ago..
He hated it.
He loves Bluey and Bingo but they can ruthless when it comes to their games
Fynn could be seen on all fours, with Bingo on his back and Bluey in front of him holding the jumping rope in her hands, with the other end on the mouth of Fynn.
It was hot outside and being on all four is not a fun experience
"Giddy up, Gallohop Jr." said Bluey tugging the rope.
Fynn neighed at the name Bluey called him
'Man, this is embarrassing.' thought Fynn
After a few minutes of playing, Fynn started to feel tired. He decided to end the game.
"Okay, that's enough." said Fynn, letting go of the rope and getting Bingo off his back.
Bluey and Bingo were not happy with him ending the game.
"Hey, horsey can't talk." said Bluey to her brother and was now getting up, which she said "and horsey can't walk, either" her arms crossed along side Bingo.
"What? Can't we play something else? My knees and hands are hurting, you know.." said Fynn, rubbing his hands and knees
"But we can't think of anything." said Bingo with Bluey nodding her head in agreement
"How about Hide and Seek? You hide and I'll seek." suggested a grinning Fynn, confident at the seeking role since he could find them easily.
"No! You always find us, though. I don't how you do it but you always find us. " exclaimed Bluey, crossing her arms
"What?! No I don't" sarcastically said Fynn
"Yeah, it's like your nose knows where we are or something." said Bingo pointing at Fynn nose
Fynn could feel his anxiety spiking up. Fearing that they might have found out his secret
"Wh-what makes you say that, B-Bingo? My n-nose isn't like that at all! " stammered Fynn, not making eye contact with them
Bluey and Bingo raised an eyebrow in confusion at their brother's visible discomfort. They looked at each other with the latter raising her arms in confusion
Bluey and Bingo would figure out if Fynn was lying. With his stammering and his body language, it's pretty clear he was lying. They would also not try to pry into it also.
" Are you okay, Fynn? " asked Bluey
"I'm sorry if I said something wrong" said Bingo, ears drooping
Now, he feels bad
"We'll play hide and seek. I'm sorry for upsetting you." continued Bingo
Really, REALLY bad
They were just playing with him but he made them sad.
"No, it's alright, Bingo. I overacted there. Sorry. " said Fynn, giving a quick hug to the both of them, to which they returned the hug
"Do you still want to play Hide and Seek?" asked Bluey to which Fynn nodded
"Yea! We'll hide so good that you can't find us in a long time!" passionately said Bluey, with Bingo agreeing with her
"We will see about that." chuckled Fynn " You guys go hide. I'm just gonna go drink some water." continued Fynn
Bluey nodded and urged Bingo to come with her, giggling and as they start to hide
Fynn went inside the house and was heading to the kitchen but as he closed in to the kitchen, his ears twitched and could hear Bandit and Chilli talking
He was eavesdropping on their conversation. They were talking about him.
Fynn shouldn't eavesdrop on them but he wants to know what they had to say about him
They talked about his memory. About what happened in the morning and last night.
One question from Chilli made Fynn's heart ache
"Do you think he doesn't trust us?"
Does he trust them?
He didn't want to tell them what he was, fearing how they would react
Is that it? Was he afraid? Or he doesn't trust them enough? Or both?
Fynn clenched his hands. He should tell them. He hated lying. He hated seeing someone he cared, cry because of him.
Fynn started to move to the kitchen, to tell them.
To tell them, that he trusts them
To tell them, he loves them
To call them, Mum and Dad
But he stopped, Fynn could feel himself tearing up.
He can't tell them, he was still scared
He still can't trust them with his secret
He still can't call them the words they want to hear from his mouth
'This is stupid. I'm so stupid' thought Fynn
Ultimately, he couldn't do it. He went back to the girls, forgetting to have a drink.
It was Monday. A school day. Fynn always hated Mondays. He always find to be tired on this particular day of the week.
Fynn was at his classroom in high school or as Bluey says in her own words "Big School". He was seated by a window allowing him to stare the outside. It was Lunch time, no lecture from his teachers, no quizzes at the the moment. He was staring outside with a hand on his chin, he wasn't really staring more like he's gazing into the distance, tuning out the world around him, thinking about his life.
His ears twitched, as he heard some of classmate talked about him from the other side of the room.
"He always alone, why is that?" asked a classmate of his, who Fynn doesn't remember his name.
Fynn tuned them out. Not wanting to continue hearing what they think of him. Fynn is an introvert, so he liked to alone when he was in school. Completely a different story in his home, where he liked to be with his family.
Fynn doesn't have friends at all. He really doesn't consider his classmates friends, more like acquaintances
"Hoy! Ayaw mo pagtsismis dira sa akong migo!" said a very loud voice
Well, he does have one friend.
Fynn didn't turn to see whose voice that was, he knew the loud voice
Gasps and laughing could be heard from behind him and footsteps could be heard, heading towards where Fynn was seated
Fynn turned to see a German Shepherd with a grin plastered on his face. The German shepherd took a seat next Fynn.
This was Fynn's friend, Rex. Rex grew up in the Philippines but his family decided to move Australia. About the same time, Fynn was adopted by the Heeler Family.
Coincidence? Not really.
Did Fate had planned it so Fynn has at least a friend? Probably.
Fynn was just glad to a friend who was there for him. To laugh with and to laugh at.
They first met when Fynn was by himself in playground not far from the Heeler household, then a German Shepherd came running up to him, asking why is he playing alone and if he can play with Fynn. At first, Fynn was shy around him, barely saying any words but after many play dates, Fynn opened to him. After that, they became fast friends, Fynn would consider him to be his best friend.
"What did say to them?" said Fynn to his friend
Rex thought about telling him but decided not to
"Why don't you figure out? You're smart, aren't you? " teased Rex also grinning at Fynn
For someone who was born in a country where english isn't his mother tongue. Rex was not bad in his English speaking.
Fynn rolled his eyes at him. " That doesn't mean I know Bisaya, amao. " said Fynn, with a deadpanned face on his face.
Rex would tease Fynn names he didn't understand. 'Amao' is one of them, it basically means stupid and 'Migo' is a friend who is a boy, while for a girl it's 'Miga'
Rex laughed and said to Fynn, " Nah, it's more fun if you could figure it out yourself."
Fynn smiled and rolled his eyes and went to staring at the window. Rex looked at Fynn a bit before reaching at his bag, pulling a plastic resealable bag. Rex pulled a candy called 'Yema' from it and proceeds to give it to Fynn, to which Fynn unwrapped it and ate it.
It was sweet. Fynn liked the yema candy Rex gives him. Maybe he should ask Rex's mom how she makes it.
Fynn thanked him for the candy, "So, what's troubling you?" asked Rex at his troubled friend, who was still staring outside.
"Just my life in general" said Fynn in a monotone voice
Fynn had told about his past, that he was adopted and how he doesn't remember his parents, apart from the wolf part.
He didn't tell that for obvious reasons
Rex nodded and asked " Do want to talk about it? You seem troubled by it."
"No.. Not really" sighed Fynn to his friend
Even though, they were best friends. Fynn sometimes didn't want to talk about his problems. Whenever Rex asked Fynn about, he was met with the same response. Fynn was grateful he wouldn't try to pry for more.
Rex wanted to press him further but he doesn't understand what Fynn's going through, so he doesn't pry any further if Fynn don't want to talk about.
"Well, okay but if you ever change your mind, I'm all ears." said Rex, holding his ears in his hands
Fynn smiled at his words and then nodded and thanked him. Fynn is grateful to have a friend like Rex. Someone, outside of his family, who cares for him. Granted, Rex is his only friend he has.
The silence was broken by a voice Fynn isn't fond of.
"Zoning out again, Fynn?" said a voice, Fynn doesn't turn to see who it is and he could feel the dog smirking at him
"Hai naku, nanasad ang buang" said Rex in his language
Fynn now turned to see the dog in his confused face, wondering what Rex just said
The dog was Beagle with glasses named Tim. Self proclaimed rival of Fynn. Fynn didn't want that. They first met when Fynn was just reading a book alone, when he suddenly proclaimed that Fynn was his rival. Fynn didn't know how to react but went on it. But as time went on, he was starting to annoy him.
Everytime Fynn would make a mistake, he would gloat about it. Fynn has told him numerous times that he's done with rival thing but Tim just ignored him and kept going.
But why would he make Fynn his rival?
Fynn asked him about it but was met with a "because I want to" shout from the beagle
"Hey! What did you just said to?!" screamed Tim to the German shepherd, smirking at his reaction
"Well, if you want to know, I said you're cra-" but was interrupted by Fynn, stopping him from saying it.
"Don't." said Fynn, looking at Rex, who just shrugged
"What is it, Tim?" said Fynn, already knowing what he wants
Tim went on about how he got a better score than Fynn. He wasn't really paying attention to Tim. Tim went how he should improve to beat him If he's ever going to beat him, after all Fynn's rival.
Fynn could care less about being someones rival.
After Tim was done, Fynn argued with him a bit before smiling widely at Tim, showing his teeth.
Another thing about Fynn, is that his canines were much more sharper that others.
Tim shivered and said "Will you stop doing that!"
Fynn and Rex both laughed at him.
After that, lunchtime was over. It went on like any other ordinary day in school. Have a lecture from the teacher, the teacher would ask if there were any questions, then a quiz next. Fynn wasn't really a studious student but he wasn't lazy about it too. He just did what every student is doing, learn. Rex would say that he would the top of the class, if he wasn't for his shyness. Some of his classmates agree on Rex on that. Even Tim would agree, although he didn't say that to Fynn.
But he just doesn't want to be the center of attention.
The class was having a quiz, a math quiz, the teacher went out to go the bathroom. As soon as the teacher was out, the students begun to ask each other what answers are.
Rex turned to his friend beside him and begun to ask him.
"No." interrupted Fynn, still writing in his own paper
"Huh? You didn't even let me talk." said Rex raising an eyebrow
"You want the answer, don't you?" said Fynn, points his pen unto Rex, who nodded nonchalantly at Fynn
Fynn rolled his eyes and smiled "You know I don't just give you the answer. I prefer I show you how to get the answer."
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try the easy way. Math is definitely not for me. " chuckled Rex
Fynn was showing him how to do the math problem. Some of his asked for his help, which he did help. That was why Rex was different from the rest of his classmates. When it's schoolwork, they would ask. But if its not, they wouldn't bother him. Fynn found that to be alright to him. He doesn't really want that many friends. Unlike Bluey, who she befriend anyone she mets.
The teacher came and proceeds to collect the paper, to which some students complaining they weren't finished yet.
The final bell rang. It was time to go home. Fynn and Rex packed their bags, their classmates doing the same.
Then Fynn's ears twitched, he heard someone was call for Rex but it was so loud from the students conversations that Rex couldn't hear it. But with his ears, he could hear it.
He turned to see a red kelpie with a hat calling Rex. He didn't know who was but he was kind familiar.
Fynn tapped the German shepherd's shoulder and pointed at the red kelpie.
Rex looked where he was pointing and saw the kelpie, then Rex went to him with Fynn following him.
"Hey, mate, I wanted to know if you're still up for Cricket?" asked the kelpie to Rex
"Yeah, I'm still up for it. I'm not gonna chicken out, man. Plus I want to learn it too" answered Rex, grinning at the kelpie who was smiling at him. Then Rex noticed Fynn was him. Introduction was in order, he figured.
"Fynn, this is Digger, I recently found out about cricket and he's showing me how to play." said Rex, putting a hand on the kelpie's back
Fynn shyly waved at him, not knowing what to do but wave at him
"And Digger, thisnerd is my best friend, Fynn." teased Rex, causing Fynn to roll his eyes at his teasing
"Nice to meet you, mate" said Digger, offering a handshake to Fynn, which he returned.
"You, too." replied Fynn
The three of them was walking towards the gate of school. Rex and Digger mostly talked about Cricket. Fynn just listened to them. Cricket wasn't really his thing. Digger has 2 younger siblings, a little brother and a little sister. He also found that he was Rusty's, a friend of Bluey, big brother. He figured that's why he was familiar.
Fynn was just minding his own business when Digger called him saying "How about you join in for a game of cricket, too, mate?", with Rex looking at him, already knowing what Fynn's answer is.
"That's alright, I'm not really a sports guy." said Fynn to Digger to which he nodded in understanding.
"Why do you think I call him a 'nerd'" teased Rex, elbowing his best friend at his rib, causing Fynn to winced in pain.
Fynn noticed Bandit's car arriving, he told Rex about it and was heading towards Bandit but was stopped by Rex holding his shoulder.
"You know you can tell me if something is troubling you, right?" sincerely said Rex, maintaining eye with Fynn.
Fynn looked into his eyes and saw he was sincere about his words. He meant it. He also saw worry in his eyes. Worry for a friend.
Genuine worry for a friend
It made Fynn to burst out what was troubling him to him but instead he just says
"I know"
They said their goodbyes and parted ways.
Bandit now picked up the his children from their school and was now heading home. Bluey and Bingo were talking about their day at the back of the car. Fynn was seated in the passenger seat, looking out the car.
They stopped because of the traffic light is red.
"How was your day at school." asked Bluey to her brother, who was still looking outside the car.
All three Heelers looked at him for his answer.
"Same old, same old." shrugged Fynn
"Did you meet new friends?" asked Bingo
"No"
"Did you have fun at school?" said Bluey
"Maybe"
It was the same responses from him when it comes to school. So they weren't all that surprised at him.
The questioning of his sisters went on a bit but then Bandit joined in.
"Did you find a girlfriend?" teased Bandit, earning a 'Ohh' from the girls and an eye roll from Fynn.
"No, I didn't." said Fynn
The drive was normal for them. Fynn liked it. They laughed. Just bonding with them. Teasing each other. Fynn hopes that it doesn't change in the future.
Thoughts?
