Alison's Point of View
It had been three years since Namine started working on Brittany. She had thought it would only take two years, but it turned out that relinking the memories on anyone who wasn't Sora was harder than she thought. None of us were ever upset with her. We knew she had been trying her best. Waking Brittany before she was ready would be dangerous.
Namine was confident that she was almost finished, and I was very excited. "Are you done yet? My dad is waiting," Lucy questioned.
I was packing my bags to leave Auradon Prep. "Yeah, give me, like, five more minutes," I bargained.
"Five more minutes for you is about an hour. Come on. I want to enjoy summer vacation before it's over," Lucy groaned.
I picked up my pace and said goodbye to my dorm room at Auradon Prep. I was going back to Radiant Gardens for summer vacation, where Lucy and I would spend every day together. As we made our way out of the school, I spotted someone I didn't want to run into and pulled Lucy back before we turned the corner.
"What?" Lucy mouthed.
"Dizzy," I replied quietly. Dizzy was even more Auradon than the Auradon residents and was twice as annoying. She had been trying to make friends with everyone all semester, including me and Lucy.
Lucy risked taking a look to see if the coast was clear. "We're good."
Unfortunately, she was wrong, as the next corner we took, she was chatting with Miracle, the daughter of someone named Mirabel. Dizzy squealed when she noticed us. "It was so great to meet you both!" She hugged Lucy and me, much to our displeasure. "I can't wait until next semester when we can hang out again!"
"Yeah. Sounds great. Could you let go now?" I groaned.
"Sure thing," Dizzy smiled.
Walking out to meet up with Mr. Braig, we noticed a huge crowd gathered outside. Fairy Godmother cleared a path directly to Lucy and me to reveal Mal and Ben. It was unusual to see them at Auradon Prep anymore because they had already graduated. Fairy Godmother was working on dispersing the crowd as Mal and Ben walked toward us.
"So, your first year at Auradon, huh? That's pretty big for my little sis," Mal commented.
"What are you doing here?" I wondered.
"Seeing you, of course. You're going back to Radiant Gardens, and I have to stay in Auradon to rule it, so I won't see you as much," Mal explained.
During my stay in Auradon, I visited Mal when my schedule allowed. We had gotten close since Brittany went into her coma. It was almost like Mal filled the hole for a big sister just enough for me to get by. She had also done a lot of growing since our first meeting and was much more tolerable. "Yeah, I guess that's true. Maybe someday I'll come to visit with Brittany. She's going to wake up soon," I suggested.
"I look forward to it," Mal agrees.
"We're always happy to see you and always sad to see you leave. You're always welcome in Auradon," Ben adds.
"Aly, my dad's waiting," Lucy prompts.
"I know." I hugged my sister and brother-in-law. "I'll make some time to come back with Brittany. We'll have Evie, Jay, and P.J. come, too. Maybe even Max."
Ben opened his mouth, but I stopped him before he could say anything. "Not Kai." I insisted.
"I was going to suggest Lonnie," Ben explained.
I nodded. "Yeah. Lonnie, too," I replied. Kai hated me. He hated who my parents were, and he felt like I put a wedge between him and Molly. Eventually, Sora stopped trying to force Molly to like Kai, though Kai still tried and attempted to undermine everything I ever did with or told Molly. Even though he was friends with Ben, I couldn't stand being around him for more than a couple of hours.
"I should go. I'll see you soon," I assured them. Lucy had run ahead to where Mr. Braig was.
"You ready?" Mr. Braig asked me.
"Yeah. Let's go home," I said.
Mr. Braig opened a dark corridor that led back to the castle in Radiant Gardens. Uncle Ienzo was waiting for me. "I'll see you tomorrow, Lucy," I mentioned.
"Later," Lucy replied as she and Mr. Braig walked back to their house.
I ran into Uncle Ienzo's open arms. "Uncle, I missed you so much."
"I've missed you as well. It hasn't been the same around here without you. I trust they took care of you well?" Uncle Ienzo asked.
"They did. In fact, I was able to see Mal a lot. She's actually really cool now. Even though she could never replace Brittany, it was nice having a sister. But I guess I already told you that." I commented, referencing our nightly video calls. Ienzo had stepped up and gone out of his way to be there for me in several ways, including insisting on talking virtually every night. Though I had pretended to gripe about it, I secretly loved that he wanted me to keep in touch with him. He got me through a lot of hard times, including my breakup. It turned out that I was too young for a serious relationship.
"Speaking of which, I just got word; Brittany will wake in two days," Uncle Ienzo smiled.
I had never been more excited in my life. "Does Molly know?"
"Yes, she knows. I must warn you, Kai knows, too. Be on your guard in case he attempts to turn Brittany against you," Uncle Ienzo warned.
"Don't worry. He could never tear us apart. We're sisters, through and through," I reassured him.
Uncle Ienzo laughed. "I suppose you must be right. Come inside. I need some help in the kitchen."
I followed Uncle Ienzo into the castle, skipping all the way with joy that my sister would finally wake up.
And that was Alison's epilogue. Next will be Molly's, and then we have Brittany's. Stopping this is bittersweet, but it's definitely time. I'll be able to focus more on my other fanfictions once I finish this one up.
