As they entered, they saw orange and purple decorations adorning the school as well as many bookshelves loaded with books. As they walked in, they met up with Nemona again. "Here we are guys! Welcome to Naranja/Uva Academy! This here's the entrance hall! You can sign up for all kinds of classes at the desk behind me, and those halls off to the sides lead to different parts of the school. It's totally big enough to let loose and battle in here, but for some reason, they banned Pokémon battling in the main entrance…"

Gee, I wonder why? Thought Issei sarcastically.

As Nemona was explaining, Director Clavell came to greet them. "Master Issei, Miss Violet, Miss Nemona. How did you find your first school commute?"

"We had a blast!" said Violet, with Issei nodding in agreement.

"I imagine Miss Nemona's high spirits helped with that. She's a true asset to our fine academy. Not that I was expecting any less from our Champion-ranked student council president. Reliable as ever Miss Nemona."

"Well I know how to look after my friends! Right, guys?" asked Nemona. With the two nodding. "Oh! But speaking of which…we saw some of those Team Star kids in town, Director!"

"You did?! Where?!" the Director asked, shocked.

"It was down the stairs from the front gates. They were hassling this kid with an Eevee backpack…"

"That's quite the news. Are they still to be found out there?"

"Actually, Issei and Violet flexed on 'em and ran 'em off."

"You don't say… Of course it is fine to try and help a fellow student… But you might wish to show a bit more restraint as you find your feet here at our academy. And, Miss Nemona, do remember that the school's staff is here to resolve any such troubles."

"Uh… Right! Yes sir, Director!"

"A child with an Eevee backpack you say… I suppose that might have been Miss Penny. I'm relieved to hear she's come to class, at least. Ah, and Miss Nemona? If you'd be so good, do report to Mr. Jacq about this Team Star business. As your homeroom teacher, he should be kept appraised of all such goings-on."

"You got it, sir!"

"Ah, but look at the time. You three had better hurry along–classes will be starting soon. Master Issei, your room and uniform will be prepared for you shortly. You'll be fine going to class as is for today. I have already informed the staff about your abrupt entrance into the student body."

"Thank you, Director," said Issei with a smile.

"We're in class 1-A! C'mon guys, I'll show you the way!" said Nemona energetically and they all went to class.

Later when they reached the classroom Nemona told them to wait outside as she went in and talked to the teacher. A bit later classes started. "Good morning, Mr. Jacq!" said the class.

"Hello, hello, everyone. We have some exciting news this morning. Who wants to hear it?" asked Mr. Jacq.

"Oooh oooh! Me! I want to hear the news!" said one student.

"I suppose I should have told you sooner, but we have some new friends joining our happy homeroom as of today."

The class began whispering among themselves. "I wonder what they'll be like?" someone asked.

"All right! You both can come in!" said Mr. Jacq. With that que, Issei and Violet walked into the classroom. They both stood up front next to Mr. Jacq's desk. "Could I trouble you for a few words introducing yourself?"

"Right. I'm Violet…"

"So calm and collected! She's pretty cool!" said one student.

"And I'm Issei. Due to certain circumstances, I enrolled in this school last minute. As you can see, I haven't even got my uniform yet," Issei gave a small introduction.

"Wow! The other kid's here because of a special reason! So mysterious!" said another student.

"Looks like everyone's eager to get to know you two. All right, then. Who wants to be the first to ask our new friends a question?"

"Me! Me! Can I ask a question?!" asked a student. "What's your favorite thing about Pokémon?"

Issei had to think about that since this was all new to him, but Violet answered in a heartbeat. "I like everything about Pokémon!"

"Really? Awesome! I'm totally the same!" said the student.

Issei realized he didn't have to overthink this. They were just kids. "I like how mysterious Pokémon can be. Every new one I meet is like a surprise waiting to happen."

"Me too! I totally feel the same way!" said another student.

"Does anyone else have a question for the new classmates?" asked Mr. Jacq.

"Me! I have a question!" said Nemona. She looked at Violet. "You went to all the trouble of enrolling here, so spill, Violet… What do you hope to get out of it? You must have some kind of dream, right?"

Violet thought about it for a bit. At first, she just wanted to meet many different Pokémon, but after what happened in the cave with Issei protecting her, her goal had changed. "I want to be a strong Trainer!" she said seriously. Issei could tell there was something behind her words. It was similar to how Gasper was when he wanted to change.

Nemona smiled at Violet's words. "You will be! Oh, I just know it! You and me–we're going to get so strong battling together!"

"Well, thank you both for telling us a bit about yourselves. I'm Mr. Jacq. I teach biology here at the academy, and I'm also your homeroom teacher. Those are your seats. Second row from the front." Issei and Violet went to the desk behind Nemona and sat down. "All right, you ragamuffins. Be nice and friendly to our new classmates!"

"We will, Mr. Jacq!" said the class.

After classes ended Issei and Violet decided to explore the school together. Their first stop led them to the cafeteria. As they were exploring, they saw Arven at the other end. Issei decided to talk to him since he still had questions about Koraidon and Miraidon. As they walked up to him, he noticed them. "Oh, hey. So we meet again! You remember me, right?"

"Kinda hard to forget when you just dumped something on us without any explanation," said Issei sarcastically.

"You're Arven, right?" said Violet.

"Yeah, exactly! That's my little know-it-all-buddy! Got a mind like a steel trap, eh?" Issei was a bit dumbfounded by how casual and friendly he was being all of a sudden. It was making him suspicious. "No need to tell me your names. Violet and Issei, right? Whole school seems to be talking about you two. The new kids that showed up with the president of the student council. I normally wouldn't bother showing up for class, but I came all the way to school today just to talk with you two–our new celebrities. You've gotta help me out so I can make my dream a reality!"

Issei was surprised again by his brazenness after his earlier attitude towards them. He looked at Violet who seemed not bothered and ready to help. Issei put a hand in front of her to stop her response and spoke first. "What's this dream, first?" he asked.

"Hehehe… Caught your interest, have I? You want to hear all about my dream, right? Well this might come as a surprise, but fact is, I'm all about that picnic life: the great outdoors, the perfectly prepared sandwiches, all of it. Not half bad at cooking either, I can tell you." He pulled out a book from his large camping backpack. "Right now I'm researching new recipes that'll help Pokémon feel better. Real health food, see. I found these books the other day, and it had a section about these Herba Mystica things… Basically, they're some kind of special herbs that heal up any Pokémon as soon as they eat them! Now, there are a total of five different types of Herba Mystica, based on what I read. Just taking a little lick of them once they've been powdered will get your blood flowing, provide nutrients, prevent aging–it'll even boost the immune system! These herbs seem like the real deal. Only found here in Paldea–and rare to boot! But this book says they're all guarded by Titan Pokémon, meaning that it's gonna be pretty tough to try and grab even a few sprigs. "'Cause, see, these Titans are– Well, I think they've gotta be…things like this!" Arven handed the Violet book to…Violet, and pulled out a Scarlet book, opened it up and handed it to Issei. They both read a few pages and saw what he was talking about. After they read it, they gave him back the books. Once he put them away, he continued his explanation. "I really want to get those herbs for myself, but… I'm not very good at Pokémon battles. Don't have any friends with strong Pokémon to lend me a hand, either…"

Gee, I wonder why, Issei thought sarcastically. He realized he was doing that a lot today.

"And I'd never hear the end of it if I went crawling to that student council girl…"

Fair point, thought Issei.

"But here you waltz up! You've got to help me out with this–you'd be perfect!"

Violet looked at Issei wondering what they should do. Issei thought about it for a bit. It all sounded like a folktale meant to be a bedtime story, but he was in no place to judge. Afterall, the supernatural was a myth to him too a little over a year ago, and now here he is in another world. Who was he to judge? Also, something else persisted in his mind. What's with the food in this world? It's like everything gives you a power up here, he thought. After mulling it over he decided to help, since it would also more than likely give them a chance to find out more about Koraidon and Miraidon. "Fine, we'll help." Violet smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Nope! Wait! I don't need an answer yet! I'll just register the places where it seems there might be Titans in your map app for you." All three Rotom Phones appeared, and Arven transferred the map data to the duo. "Let it stew a bit, and we can get more into the details later. And in the meantime…take this. A little gift for listening and all." He handed both of them a bag of Stardust. After that Arven took a deep breath and ran off while yelling. "Give the idea some serious thought! Please!"

Issei's eye twitched from that whole interaction as he had thought it over and then Arven just up and said to think it over again. He put a hand on his head to fight back a headache. Violet patted his back supportively as the two made to leave the cafe. Before they could exit, however, both their phones rang. Issei and Violet looked between each other with Issei having a suspicious look. Both their Phones floated in front of them as they answered. "...This is Issei and Violet, correct? I hacked your smartphones so I could talk to you. Hope you don't mind."

"What's this all about?" Issei asked calmly.

"How composed of you. My name is Cassiopeia. But never mind that–it's you two I want to talk about. I hear you're both Trainers with serious potential. If the description is accurate, there's something I'd like to ask you. Tell me… You guys know about Team Star, right?"

"Only from what others have said about them," said Issei.

"Great. I appreciate you being up-front here. Team Star is a group of troublemakers formed by some academy students a while back… They cause headaches for the school and try to bring others down to their level. I refuse to sit idly by and let them get away with it! So, I've come up with a plan to bring down Team Star and force them to disband for good. I call it…Operation Starfall! But I'll need allies to carry out this operation… and I'd like you two to be a part of it." Issei and Violet looked at each other. Violet was unsure as was Issei, although they did agree that something should be done about them. As Issei was about to respond he was interrupted by Cassiopeia. "No need to reply right this second. We can discuss the details some other time. Till then, I'll leave you to it. Bye."

She hung up the call and Issei was really getting annoyed at being blown off in all these conversations. As Violet was comforting him once again, Director Clavell walked in and saw them. "Ah, Master Issei, Miss Violet. Please do try to keep your voices down if you're making calls within the school, won't you?"

"We'll be more careful. Sorry for the disturbance," said Violet.

"You don't want anyone else overhearing any personal information, after all. Honestly… There are so many things we need to be careful about in this day and age. On you go then, young man and lady." The pair nodded and left the cafe. Once they were gone Clavell spoke quietly to himself. "Team Star, you say…?"

The next stop of the pair was the staffroom. As they entered, they saw other teachers and some students. In the back they saw Nemona talking to someone tall with strange hair. They walked over but didn't want to interrupt them so quietly waited for them to finish. "Very well, Champion Nemona. I trust you to handle this in my stead," said the tall lady.

"Sure thing! You can count on me. In fact, I bet this is gonna be fun!" responded Nemona.

"I'm glad to hear it. Good day, then." The lady turned and walked away, which was the pair's que to go up to Nemona. As they passed by, the tall lady stopped. "Oh–pardon me," she said as she walked by. Issei felt something from her but couldn't quite place it.

Nemona finally noticed the pair as they approached. "Oh, Issei, Violet! Hey!"

"Who was that?" asked Issei.

"She looked awesome!" said Violet.

"Piqued your interest, huh? That lady is… Well, they call her la Primera! She's strong, she can do pretty much anything, she's got cool practically coming out her ears… She's basically everything I wanna be–or that any Pokémon Trainer would wanna be, really! Oh! Which reminds me! Remember in homeroom when I asked what your dream is?" Violet nodded. "Well, since your heart's already set on becoming a really strong Trainer… I've got an idea for you! This goes for you too, Issei! You should try to reach Champion Rank like me!"

Violet looked excited but Issei wasn't sure. "What is Champion Rank anyways? I keep hearing you guys talk about it, but I have no idea what it means," asked Issei.

"Well allow me to explain!" said Nemona excitedly. "The Trainers who reach Champion Rank are the ones who raise their Pokémon really strong. They're pro-tier battlers. Their moves keep crowds absolutely on the edge of their seats! You have to prove yourself to the PokémonLeague to officially get the title of Champion. And to do that, you have to do more than just take classes here. You've got to take on eight Pokémon Gyms and win so you can collect their Gym Badges! Once you've done all that, all that's left is a special test– the Champion Assessment. And once you pass THAT, then at long last you'll be a Champion! It's every Pokémon Trainer's dream! The coolest title anyone could ever hope to get! Not to brag or anything! I reached Champion Rank during our last Treasure Hunt, you know! Oh, the Treasure Hunt is a special independent study thing we've got here. Should happen soon! Our last one started not long after the beginning of this school year! It's great! You get to leave school to go have an adventure and learn however you want! I guess you could say my journey to becoming a Champion was the treasure I found…maybe? I dunno yet if that's the answer I'm looking for…"

Maybe? You aren't sure? Questioned Issei in his mind.

"Anyway, I've got a feeling I'd be able to get even stronger if you guys and I were all working at it… Lemme go ahead and save the Gyms' locations in your map app in case you decide to go for it!" Everyone's phone appeared again, and the map data was downloaded into Issei's and Violet's phones. "Give it some thought!" said Nemona with a smile and she ran off.

After she ran off the school's intercom went off. "Calling Master Issei and Miss Violet to the Director's office, please." This announcement surprised the two of them. "Once again… Master Issei and Miss Violet to the director's office, please." Once the announcement was done the intercom did another jingle and turned off.

"I wonder what it's about?" said Issei airily. Violet wasn't sure either and the pair headed to the director's office.

"Thank you for coming, Master Issei and Miss Violet. Have you two been enjoying your time here at Naranja/Uva Academy?" asked Director Clavell.

"Its…been an experience," said Issei thinking about his last three conversations.

"I'm enjoying myself," said Violet.

"That is most wonderful to hear." he said as he got up from his desk. "Now, you may be wondering why we could not have simply conversed earlier in the cafeteria. But let me assure you, there is a reason why I asked you to meet me here in my office. It seems that a friend of mine has a rather serious matter to discuss with you two."

"With us?" asked Issei, wondering who could possibly want to talk to him, much less know who he is. Violet looked around the room and didn't see anybody, so she was confused.

"Ah, no, I'm afraid they aren't actually here in this room with us. One moment please. Just allow me to connect us…" Director Clavell said as he turned on the T.V. in the corner of the room. Issei and Violet walked up next to Clavell and waited for it to connect.

Once it did, two people appeared on the screen. "Hello, Issei and Violet. It is nice to meet you," said the woman on the screen. "My name is Professor Sada."

"And I am Professor Turo. We carry out Pokémon research within the Great Crater of Paldea–at a site known as Area Zero," said Turo.

"The professors are, in fact, graduates of our fine academy, as well as splendid researchers," said Clavell.

"Well. Allow me to get straight to the point," said Sada. "Issei, student ID number 805C394… and Violet, student ID number 805C393… You two are the students traveling with the unusual Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon, is that correct?"

Both Issei and Violet were shocked by this. "How could she have known that? Was she spying on us?" asked Issei mentally.

"Hard to say. I didn't sense anything out of the ordinary, but we don't know what anything is truly capable of in this world yet," answered Ddraig.

Violet nodded yes with Issei following suit. "Thank you. I appreciate that you were honest in confirming the facts. Ah, not that I– I do not mean to offend you two. In fact, we wish to ask for your assistance," said Sada.

Everyone wants our help. Are we really that extraordinary, or is it because we're new to this and we don't know any better? Issei couldn't help but think this was all weird.

"Assistance with what?" asked Issei. As if right on cue, both Koraidon and Miraidon came out of their balls.

"Oh. How good to see that you are both well. It has been quite a while since we last met," said Turo.

"Gias!" responded the dragons.

"Koraidon and Miraidon were once in our care, you see. Their Poké Ball was also originally mine. I assume you received it from a young man called Arven," said Turo.

"We are no longer in a position to be able to manage those Pokémon ourselves. This is what I would ask of you both: Will you continue looking after Koraidon and Miraidon on our behalf?" asked Sada.

"I mean, we were already doing that anyways so, yeah, no problem," said Issei.

"We do appreciate your agreement," said Sada.

"Koraidon and Miraidon have been greatly weakened and are currently incapable of battle. It can, however, take on a form specialized for mobility. In all likelihood, it will require some time to fully regain the capabilities they once had," said Turo.

"I will provide you with our contact information. If you would please get out your phones?" The phones came out and they received the contact info. "We will be in regular contact going forward to keep tabs on your status," said Sada.

"Until then," they both said with a wave. The communication then cut off.

Both Koraidon and Miraidon made a small roar at the professors disappearing. Clavell looked at the two dragons and pushed up his glasses. "Could these Pokémon have their origins within Area Zero…?" He shook his head as if realizing something. "Sada, Turo… Don't tell me you actually did it…"

"That doesn't sound ominous at all," said Ddraig sarcastically in Issei's mind.

After putting the dragons back in their balls Issei and Violet turned to Clavell to see if he had anything else to say. "Well, it seems that the professors are asking quite the favor of you two. But of course the academy is always here to support you in any way that we are able. I do hope you'll continue to enjoy your school life, together with those Koraidon and Miraidon."

The two were about to leave Clavell's office when Nemona came in. "Hellooo! 'Scuse me!" she said as she walked in. "Oh! You two are still here! Oof. Getting called into the director's office? How'd you land in that much trouble already?!" she said jokingly. "...Naw, kidding! I know it wasn't like that. Mr. Jacq wanted me to show you the way to your rooms in the school dorms. Your very own private room, guys! Let's go check 'em out!" With that she led the way to the dorms. They got to Violet's room first. "Ta-ta-tachán! From today on, this is your room, Violet! Actually, it's as new to me as it is to you. Never been here before."

I don't see why you would be in an empty dorm room, Issei thought sarcastically. I think I'm starting to become more cynical.

"Maybe check out your new bed? Looks comfy. And you must be pretty worn out from all this stuff happening on your first day, huh? A quick rest on a bed is all you need to get yourself and your Pokémon healthy again!" said Nemona. "I'll see you tomorrow, when you've rested up. Then we can battle even more! Take care! C'mon Issei, I'll show you to your room."

"I wanna go too, so I can see where Issei is," said Violet.

Nemona smiled. "All right then. The more the merrier right Issei?"

"Sure, why not? I got to see her room after all, but my money is on it looking exactly the same," said Issei playfully. After that they all went to Issei's room which was exactly how he said it was. After a bit of chatting Nemona and Violet left. Once they were gone, Issei checked around his new room. He found his uniform and school backpack in the closet as well as some basic ingredients in his cupboards. A pamphlet with the school rules and curriculum were on his desk as well as his student ID. "He really went all out, didn't he? Or maybe all the students get this stuff," said Issei.

"Well, what happens now, partner? We have a place to stay, and we know our goal… How do we go about achieving it?" asked Ddraig.

Issei sat in thought at his new desk. "Based on the logic this world seems to follow and based on what future me said, I think it goes without saying that I'm gonna have to catch Dialga and Palkia somehow. And if they're the creators of time and space in this world then that means that I'm gonna have to become stronger in this world's way of battling."

"I would say I don't see how you would do that, but you clearly did, based on your future self. So, we need to grow our strength and find out where to find these creator gods."

"That seems to be about right. No pressure or anything," Issei said sarcastically to himself. He messed with the clock on his desk to set an alarm and then went to rest on his new bed. He had a busy new life ahead, starting tomorrow.

Several days passed as Issei did all he could to learn about the new world he was in. He thought the school uniform was a bit childish so he made some slight modifications to it so that it would look like his old school uniform with his new school's colors. He wasn't the best in school but the way this world worked was very gamey, so it was oddly easy for him to pick up. He was particularly interested in the biology and history classes as they told him about Pokémon and the region he was in. And when he wasn't in classes, he was battling with Nemona and Violet to get more used to using his new knowledge and battle strategies. He even fought with Riosei and Scyther himself since they seemed to want to practice with him. Both Violet and Nemona were shocked that Issei could keep up with Pokémon, even if it was practice. Some passing students who saw this were also shocked by the scene. Even the teacher in charge of P.E., Dendra, was looking at Issei train with his Pokémon with a bit of admiration, but that was put an end to by another teacher saying that training this way is dangerous and a bad example for the other students. As the days went on Issei became more acclimated to his new surroundings and was even starting to want to stay, but he knew he couldn't. There were too many people waiting for him. It was nighttime and Issei was in his room going over some material from class. While he was flipping through pages he was thinking about his next move. What do I do? Even from the classes I haven't heard anything about Dialga or Palkia. I could ask the Director, but he seems busy keeping the school in order. Not only that but even if I find them, I'm in no condition to fight them. I mean, I could fight them myself, but I don't know how I would be able to fight gods that can bend time and space. I don't want to make the mistake of killing them either if they turn out to be too weak. I think my best bet is to play by this world's rules and not use my powers recklessly. I'll only use them in an emergency, he thought to himself. As he was mulling over what to do in his mind there was a knock at the door. "Come in," he said.

The door opened and in walked Violet and Nemona. The two were all smiles and they wanted to hang out with Issei, which he obliged. As they were chatting Nemona got really excited about what Issei did with his Pokémon the other day. "I never thought someone could keep up with a Pokémon like that! It was so amazing how you dodged around Riosei's and Scyther's attacks! Not to mention landing some blows of your own! Where did you learn to fight like that?!" asked Nemona. Violet's eyes were sparkling too, wanting to know the answer.

Issei looked away awkwardly. He still hadn't told them anything about his life and he was hesitant to do so. He tried to think of something to say but when he looked at them, he couldn't help but feel like he would be fine if they knew. He took a few more minutes to think about it and the decided, "fuck it" and decided to tell them the truth. "Well, it's a long story. Actually, I have something to tell you guys."

The two looked confused at Issei's sudden change in mood. "What is it, Issei?" asked Violet.

"I haven't been completely honest with you guys. I know it's only been a week, but you guys have been nothing but supportive and helpful to me since I got here. You've done more than anyone ever should for a stranger, and I think it's only fair you know my whole story." The two visibly leaned forward in their spots, clearly interested as Issei explained his story. He kept his story PG as he noticed during his time here how proper and innocent everyone was, and he honestly felt like if he talked the way he usually did he would corrupt the surroundings unintentionally. Although he couldn't leave out all the details. After he gave a background about himself, he told them about the incident that caused him to be sent to their world, followed by meeting his future self and the goal he has to get back to his own world. Even though he already explained this once to Clavell it didn't sound any better the second time around. He nervously watched their expressions, thinking they wouldn't buy it, but Violet looked slightly amazed by all this and took it in stride, while Nemona had something of a serious look on her face which made Issei a bit worried.

After a moment of silence Nemona finally spoke. "So… You get your strength from boobs?" asked Nemona, causing Issei to nearly fall out of his chair at where her focus was.

Issei just smiled awkwardly. "It's…a bit more complicated than that. I can get a boost from it but it's not what makes me strong."

Nemona sat in thought for a bit more before something almost resembling a blush appeared on her face. "Will you get stronger if you poke mine?"

If Issei was drinking water, he would have done a spit take. "What the heck are you saying?! What are you trying to do?!" he asked with Violet also looking at Nemona confused and with a blush.

"I'm just curious how strong you can get, that's all," said Nemona looking to the side.

Issei put a hand on his head. "I should have figured. You only have battling on the brain." Nemona made a look of embarrassment. "Look, let's just drop all that stuff, it's not really relevant to my current issue."

"Right, finding Dialga and Palkia. Two Legendary Pokémon. Sounds like an awesome adventure! Maybe you can do that for your treasure hunt!" said Nemona excitedly.

"Maybe, but if my experiences this week are anything to go by, I feel like I'm gonna have to become a strong Trainer if I'm gonna have a chance against them," said Issei.

"Why not just fight them yourself?" asked Violet.

"I've considered it but I'm not sure how effective my powers would be. I could be completely ineffective in fighting them or too effective to the point where I might accidentally kill them and completely cut off my way home. I just don't know," said Issei.

Violet and Nemona folded their arms in thought. "Looks like the best way is to become a strong Trainer," said Nemona.

"Don't worry, we'll do everything we can to make sure you find a way home! Right Nemona?" said Violet.

"You bet! If you wanna be the strongest then going for the Champion Rank will definitely be the best course of action since that will prove you're one of the strongest in the region!" said Nemona.

"I see… I guess that would be a step in the right direction, but I'll more than likely need more than that," said Issei.

"What about the Titan Pokémon that Arven was talking about? If these super strong Pokémon really do exist then they could help prepare you for your battle against Dialga and Palkia as well," said Violet.

"Wait, what's this about super strong Pokémon?" asked Nemona.

"It's something Arven asked us to help with. I'm not too thrilled about helping someone who's only been rude to us, but it seems like his goal is to help others, so I guess he's not all bad," said Issei.

"If that's the case let me go too! I wanna fight these super strong Pokémon!" said Nemona excitedly.

"Sorry, but no," said Issei, surprising both Nemona and Violet. "Arven didn't want you to help because he knew he would never hear the end of it if he asked you for help. That aside, since I know you're strong if we all went together then Violet and I wouldn't be able to get as much experience since if things got tough you would end up handling it. Just leave this to us," said Issei with a confident smile.

Nemona looked disappointed at being left out. "Fine, but you better make it up to me by giving me really good battles!"

"Deal!" said Issei. "Oh right, one last thing." The pair looked at him curiously. "Please keep my story a secret. I told you because I trust you two, but I don't think people would believe me if I told them and I don't want people thinking I'm crazy. The only other person who knows is the Director so please don't mention this to anyone else."

"Don't worry! Your secret is safe with us!" said Nemona with Violet nodding her head. Then her eyes turned interested. "So… Show us."

Issei tilted his head. "Show you what?"

"Your Gear thingy!" said Nemona.

"Oh, you mean the Boosted Gear."

"Yeah that! Show us that!"

Issei smiled as he lifted his left hand in front of him. It glowed red before the Boosted Gear appeared. Both Nemona and Violet were looking at it with sparkling eyes. "Well don't be shy. Introduce yourself Ddraig," teased Issei.

"Who you callin' shy?!" said Ddraig.

The sudden voice of the gauntlet made the two even more excited. "Is that the dragon who lives in your gauntlet?!" asked Violet excitedly.

"Yeah, that's me. I'm one of the Heavenly Dragons, The Welsh Dragon, Ddraig," Ddraig introduced himself.

"It's nice to meet you, Ddraig," said Violet.

"I've never met a talking dragon before! This is so awesome!" said Nemona. As things got heated up, they all talked until curfew.

The morning of the next day Issei was ready to head to class when an announcement came over the intercom. "Attention, all students. Today marks the beginning of an important new assignment. Please assemble in the schoolyard, where I will explain in more detail." After that the intercom turned off.

Not a second later Nemona came bursting into Issei's room, practically dragging Violet with her. "It's TIIIME!" Nemona shouted. "I've been waiting FOREVER for this! C'mon let's go out to the schoolyard!" said Nemona and she ran off leaving Issei and Violet in the dust. The pair looked at each other and smiled, then followed after her.

Once all the students were gathered in the schoolyard the director made his announcement. "Excellent. It seems everyone is here. Well then, it's time that I explain your independent study assignment. As usual, the theme will be "A Treasure Hunt"! I ask each of you to set out and travel the world in search of your own treasure. You have all learned much within the walls of our fine academy… But now it is time to turn your eyes upon the wider world and deepen your understanding. Explore Paldea's abundant nature, soak in its rich culture, discover the Pokémon that live here, and get to know the people, too. Where will you travel? Who will you meet? And what will you achieve? Of course, your Pokémon partners will be there to help you. You will journey together, learn new things together, share each other's thoughts and feelings, and find something you might always treasure! I look forward to welcoming you all back after your independent study, when you return to us as fine young Trainers!" Clavell raised his arms in the air in a grand gesture. "Let the Treasure Hunt begin! Onward!"

As the students were filing out of the schoolyard, Issei was stopped by Clavell. "Master Issei, a moment please?" he asked. Issei stopped and turned with Nemona and Violet tying with him, wondering what the director wanted. "Miss Violet, Miss Nemona, I have a matter to discuss with Master Issei about his situation, so there is no need to wait for us."

"Oh, don't worry Director, sir! Issei already filled us in about himself!" said Nemona cheerfully.

The director was surprised and looked at Issei waiting for confirmation. "They have been really helpful since you introduced them to me, so I only thought it was fair they knew the truth. They took it surprisingly well. I think the people of your world have a good trusting nature," said Issei with a smile.

The director nodded with a smile of his own. "I see, I'm glad we made a good first impression on you. In that case you two can remain here for the conversation." Clavell made a serious face. "Master Issei, what do you intend to do for the Treasure Hunt? I'm aware you're in about as unknown territory as unknown can be, so if you wish to remain here in order to try and find out more information about your goal it would be completely understandable."

"Thank you, director, but I already made up my mind about what to do last night. Even if I find Dialga and Palkia, chances are they would only listen to a strong Trainer, so I plan to learn all I can and get stronger out in Paldea. I plan to aim for the Champion Rank in this region in order to make sure I can take them on if necessary!" said Issei with determination and earning a smile from Violet and Nemona.

Director Clavell smiled. "I see… In that case I can wish you nothing but luck. I will be doing what I can on my end to try and find out about Dialga and Palkia while you're gone, so rest assured I will do my part as well."

"Thank you, director." With that the three headed out to start their independent study. As they were walking out of the school building, they saw students excited to go out into the world.

Before anyone got too far Director Clavell called out to all the students. "Take care, everyone! And remember–the Great Crater of Paldea is exceedingly dangerous! Entering it is a violation of school rules!"

Issei was curious why going in the crater was explicitly a school rule and not some sort of law in Paldea but he didn't have enough info about society yet to know the answer. Nemona was moving at her own pace though. "What're we waiting for! Issei, Violet, let's go!" she said and ran off.

Issei and Violet were about to follow her when they were stopped by Professor Jacq. "A moment you two, could I ask for your assistance with something?"

"What do you need, Professor?" asked Violet.

"I was hoping one of you could do me a favor. You see, a colleague of mine has been studying rare Pokémon that have been said to have stopped existing many years ago. One of his associates found an egg said to have been acquired during one of their expeditions to Area Zero. This egg doesn't match any known eggs that currently exist, it's a real mystery. So, I was thinking. Why not have one of my students study it? The two of you seem promising enough among the new students so I was hoping you could take it and record your findings."

Issei and Violet looked between each other. Issei gestured to Violet. "I don't know the first thing about taking care of an egg so it's all yours if you want it," said Issei.

Violet nodded and accepted the egg. "Thank you! Please keep me up to date about your findings. I hope you both enjoy your independent study assignment!" said Mr. Jacq and he returned to the school.

Issei and Violet went to meet Nemona at the top of the stairs. "Hey, what did Mr. Jacq want?" asked Nemona.

"He wanted us to take care of this egg," said Issei, with Violet showing her the egg.

"Ooooo, an egg! That's so cool! I've never seen an egg before. Was never really the "look after a newborn" type, but I'm sure you guys will do great!" she said as they walked down the stairs and into the city square. "Anyways, since you guys plan to head to the gyms you should set a destination on your map app! That'd get you guys on your way easy!"

"Tch! How's that for a student council president! Giving your own friends an insider advantage?" said a voice from the side. The three turned to see Arven standing there.

"Ay! A-Arven?!" said Nemona. Arven walked up to the group with a grumpy look on his face. "Insider advantage? Sheesh, you make it sound like we're cheating or something! All I did was suggest that they check out the gyms. It's their best bet to achieve their goals!"

"Issei and Violet are gonna have their hands full searching out Titan Pokémon with me. They don't have time to waste on something like chasing after Champion Rank. The three of us are gonna be too busy visiting the lairs of Titans and nabbing their Herba Mystica!" argued Arven.

Nemona gave Arven a small glare. "Look, Issei has a very important quest he has to go on, and in order for him to complete his goals he needs to reach Champion Rank to do it! Violet also wants to grow stronger too, and the Gyms provide the right challenge in order to grow stronger!"

Things were starting to escalate as they argued. Issei was about to step in when his and Violet's phones began to ring, getting everyone's attention. The phones floated in front of them as the call was answered. "Hey you two. Cassiopeia here. It's about Operation Starfall. Remember what I told you before? Team Star is made up of five individual squads. And each one's got their own base. I need you both to go to each base–all five of 'em–and beat the squad boss there. Team Star's grunts might try to get in your way, but I'll be helping you guys out…from a distance. And heads-up that the bosses each specializes in a different Pokémon type. Just remember the names of the crews, and you'll figure it out. Still no need to worry. With your skills, I'm sure you guys are more than up to the task. I'll just go ahead and add the bases' locations to your phones for you guys." The phones updated with the new map info. "Good luck with those bosses. I'll hook you up with some nice rewards every time you beat one."

"Wait one second! Who are you supposed to be?! And Team Star–those punks are a serious hazard! They're not Issei's and Violet's problem!" said Nemona, upset.

"That's right! Because they've got more important things to do, like searching out awesome ingredients with me!" said Arven.

"I thought it was up to them to decide whether he goes or not… Wasn't that what you said, Nemona? And Arven?" said Cassiopeia.

"How do you know my–?" asked Nemona surprised.

"All right, that's enough!" said Issei sternly, making everyone quiet. He had an incredibly annoyed look on his face. "The three of you have been going on and on about your own goals, but you seem to be forgetting that we have no obligation to do anything you all say. We agreed to help, out of the goodness of our hearts, but we might have to rethink that if you all are going to feel like we have no choice but to do what you want," irritation eminent in his voice. Arven and Nemona had looks of shame on their faces and Cassiopeia was silent. Issei sighed and continued. "Look, we can take care of all three goals. I doubt any of these tasks are going to be done anytime soon and they all sound like they are going to be difficult in their own right, so it's in both of our best interests to tackle them when we're at the appropriate strength to deal with them." Issei looked at Nemona. "The Gyms will be good for us to properly gauge our power–" Issei turned to Arven. "The strength we gain will make sure we're ready to face the Titan Pokémon–" Issei then turned to the phone. "And will help with training to defeat Team Star and their bosses. There's no reason we can't do all three, but don't think for a second we are under some obligation." Issei spoke his next words calmly and with a hint of care. "We want to help. Don't take advantage of our kindness."

The three were silent until Cassiopeia finally spoke up. "I'm sorry. You're right. I'm the one who asked for help, I shouldn't be pushing my agenda on you. I want your help. Will you please help me?"

Issei and Violet looked to each other with a smile. "Yes, we will," said Violet.

Arven was looking down while scratching the back of his head. "I-I'm sorry too. I just…" Arven's voice trailed off as his look darkened.

Violet looked concerned for him. "Arven, you don't have to worry. We'll help you; we just want you to be less pushy about it," said Violet. Arven looked up at them surprised and something like hope appeared in his eyes, but he quickly tried to regain his composure by shaking his head.

Nemona looked like she was about to apologize next, but Issei stopped her. "We already talked before Nemona. I know you were just trying to help but you need to cut your intensity down a notch," said Issei.

"Sorry," said Nemona with a blush.

"All right. If we all understand, then the matter is settled. We have all the map data for the Gyms, Titans, and Team Star bases, so we'll tackle them to the best of our abilities, right Violet?"

"Right!" said Violet enthusiastically.

"Well if that's all I'll leave you to it. I'll be in touch," said Cassiopeia and the phones hung up.

"What a strange person," said Arven.

"I'm glad you guys are making plenty of friends but be careful about getting dragged into dangerous things, ok?" said Nemona concerned. The pair nodded in agreement. Nemona's expression change back to her usual smile. "All right! No more weird vibes! It's time for our adventure to really get started! I'm gonna battle every single Pokémon Trainer I meet! I'll start by heading to a Gym and training up some new Pokémon! Here,I'll send you guys a pic of what the Gym buildings look like!" She shared a picture of a tall, almost office looking building. "Now remember, this adventure is about doing what you want and finding your very own treasure!"

"A treasure…of our very own… For me, that's got to be Ma– Er, my big dream of tracking down Herba Mystica, that is! Once we get those herbs, I'll make you guys the absoluuute best sandwiches you've had in your lives!" As soon as Arven said that both Koraidon and Miraidon appeared out of their balls. They both gave a small growl of greeting. "Argh! What'd you come out for?" asked Arven annoyed.

"Oh my gosh! Did it just come out 'cause you said "sandwich"? Hahaha!" asked Nemona jovially.

"Well, you're not getting one…" said Arven, annoyed.

Both Koraidon and Miraidon turned to Issei and Violet and made a small roar while crouching down slightly. Nemona seemed to get what they meant. "It seems like they want to start moving… Are they telling you guys to get on?" Issei and Violet looked to each other and shrugged. They then walked up to the dragons and got on. Once on, the dragons changed form slightly to forms made for mobility. "Whoa, they transformed! Now they REALLY look like some kinda weird Cyclizar! As long as you guys have Koraidon and Miraidon, you can go pretty much anywhere. Paldea's your Cloyster!"

Arven shook his head, clearly still annoyed at the dragons. "Hmph… Yeah? Maybe. Well, if you're going to search for those Titan Pokémon, I'd say set out from the east gate!"

"If you guys wanna head to the Gym, the closest one is out the west gate!" said Nemona.

"Well, I'm out of here! Catch up soon buddies!" said Arven and he ran off.

"I'll head to a Gym. See you two around!" said Nemona and she ran off too. With the chaos done, Issei and Violet finally began their adventure!

Finally! Done with the tutorial. Now is when things start getting original. I mentioned in the last chapter one more imported Pokémon, and that one is the egg Mr. Jacq gave Violet. As for what it is you'll have to wait till it hatches, but I'm sure some of you will be smart enough to figure out which Pokémon it is. Now comes the tricky part. If I traveled the routes going from location to location there wouldn't be much adventure, so I'm going to be wandering about, fighting Trainers, catching Pokémon and having them battle each other. I'll try to think of things to fill in the travel. Also, regarding the part with Nemona and the boobs thing, I tried looking up the ages of the characters and while there is no official age for the Scarlet and Violet characters it is believed the player is somewhere between 11-13 and Nemona is 16. At this point in the DxD story Issei is 18 so it's not too weird with Nemona but I'm definitely avoiding anything weird with Violet. Romance is also not the focus of this story so it's not gonna get a lot of attention. Anyways, I look forward to the comments as always and I'm still waiting on names for Pokémon. : )
