"Sooooo," I rolled my eyes slightly.

"Nothing happened Trish, I rode around with him for a little while and we just talked. Then I went home, slept, and got up early to get my Maci girl." I opened the registers as we talked. That really was all that happened.

"Hmmmm… you should give it a chance Ally. You haven't been with anyone since Maci's dad, which clearly wasn't the best relationship, but you really shouldn't base an future relationships off of them either." I sighed. At this point Trish was just following me around the club like a lost puppy while I got ready for opening.

"I am not Trish, but I am not in the spot for a relationship. I am having to work so hard right now just to try and make ends meet for me and Maci. Plus, you know that she is my top priority right now. I have to be focused." She nodded and offered me a small smile. I knew that she understood because she understood all that I had been through to reach the point I am at now.

"Hey, on another note, how do you feel about training for the other manager position?" She was smiling and looking at me excitedly "Millie is leaving at the end of the month and we both agree that you would be the best fit. You show up the most, work the hardest, and you know how the floor is worked better than anybody."

"Uhm yeah absolutely!"

She let out an excited squeal and jumped around, "Yay okay, we just have to clear it with Mr. Moon." I nodded as I finished wiping down all of the tables on the floor and made my way back up to the bar.

"What needs to be cleared with me?" I screamed and hit the floor while Trish ducked down and covered her head.

"JESUS AUSTIN WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU" I screamed, my arms waving around as I tried to catch my breath.

Trish quickly stood back up trying to catch her breath as well. Once, she had caught her breath she turned back to us.

"We were just talking about letting Ally train for the manager position to take Millie's place when she leaves." He nodded and leaned against the counter.

"Would you like that position Ally?" I shook my head a little bit, as a wave of heat hit my cheeks after realizing that I had not only just screamed at my boss but called him by his first name in front of my other boss. How. Embarrassing.

"I would" I nodded slightly at him, setting my cleaning rag down on the counter.

He nodded, "Well, if you want to it is yours, but I had another offer for you as well."

Trish stepped into the back quick to give us some privacy, even though I knew that her ear would be pressed against the door. I turned and gave him my full attention.

"What kind of offer?"

"I need an assistant at my label office. Just someone to schedule my meetings, grab coffees every now and then, help me out when in the studio with artists. Easy things. There wouldn't be much training involved mainly because it is more of a learn as you go job. But, the hours would be easier. You would only be working 9 am to 3 in the afternoon and you get an hour lunch break, but we only work Monday to Thursday." I felt my brows squint together.

"Why would you that Mr. Moon?" He chuckled and shook his head.

"Ally, you just screamed at me my first name as I walked in, you can call me Austin. And I figured it would be easier on you and your daughter. Easier hours, better pay, more time at home."

I sighed and shook my head, "Austin I am not looking for any handouts. Me and Maci are making it just fine."

He smiled when I referred to him by his first name, " I am not giving you any handouts Ally. I cleared it with Dez, my GM at the label, he talked to Millie and Trish about you and we both think that you would be a quick and perfect fit."

I thought about it for a few minutes. It would be nice to only need a babysitter during normal hours, and to be able to put my sweet girl to bed at night. I gave him a quick glance before nodding at him, "deal, but only on one condition."

He smiled, "and what exactly would that be?"

"No more flirting with me, or trying to take me out or anything like that. I am not going to be the gossip of the office. I don't like drama, I don't do drama, I don't want drama."

He just chuckled ad turned around to walk out of the club. I noticed on the clock that we were only about ten minutes to opening.

"Tonight will be your last night at 66 Ally. Starting Monday morning, you will be a salary employee at Moon Records. See you there." Before I could get in another word, he left.
