(A/N: Just a few things before we start: The quick updates will probably end soon as I'm running out of pre-written chapters.
Also, I have another story that I'd like to shamelessly promote if you don't mind me doing. It's called Spiderman: The Templar? It's a crossover between Spectacular Spiderman and Assassin's Creed (Mainly Black Flag but also a bit of Rogue and Unity). I don't know how many of you guys are big AC fans but you might like it either way. You don't really need to be a big fan of the game series anyway to follow it. I just think it needs some love.
Anyway, onto the story. I do not own Spiderman. That right belongs to Sony).
*The Next Morning*
May Parker wheeled Peter out of the hospital who had gotten dressed in the clothes he had on the night before. It felt good being back out in the fresh air, considering.
"Feeling ok, Sweetie?" May asked.
"Yeah...I think so" Peter said, honestly. However, May wasn't sure.
"You wouldn't lie to your old aunt like that, would you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Aunt May, I promise you. I'm ok...really" Peter said.
May nodded. "Good. I'm glad. Now let's get you home. Come on, you're outside the hospital now, you can stand"
"Thank god" Peter said as he stood up and stretched.
"Don't put too much stress on your arms, dear. You still have stitches on" May chastised as she moved the wheelchair to the side, allowing a nurse from inside to go out and take it back inside.
Peter called for a nearby Taxi which they both got inside in which they took home.
Back at the house, May was fixing the both of them breakfast until the home phone rang. May walked from the stove and picked up the phone.
"Hello?...Yes, this is the Parker Residence. May I ask who is calling?...Oh, really?...Yes, he's here...You would like to speak to him? Alright" May said. The last few statements made Peter's eyes shoot up from his bacon and eggs and raise an eyebrow.
May turned and said "Peter, it's the General Counsel of Oscorp. He wants to speak to you"
Peter suddenly shifted in his seat uncomfortably. "I...what? Why?"
"He insists it's important, Peter. It sounds like you need to speak to him" May said, still holding the phone.
Peter hesitated before standing up and walked over to the phone. He picked it up and said "Hello?"
"Hello, Peter Parker? I'm the General Counsel of Oscorp. I'm just calling you to inform you you've been invited to come to attend the hearing of the Last Will and Testament of Norman Osborn" The man said.
Peter raised an eyebrow at this.
"What? How can I be invited? I wasn't related to him" Peter said, not really wanting to go, especially if Harry and Gwen were going to be there (And they would be).
"Mr. Osborn was very insistent that you be there to listen, Mr. Parker. It seems he has some important news he wishes to share with you" The man on the other end said.
"O….K. I mean...I guess I can be there...I...I assume Harry will be there as well?" Peter asked, already knowing and dreading the answer.
"Yes, he will be. He is Mr. Osborn's only child, after all" The General Counsel said.
Peter silently cursed himself. "Alright...would it be alright if I bring someone with me?"
"Of course. You can bring up to 2 people with you" The General Counsel said.
"Ok, thank you...what day?" Peter then asked.
"Today, actually at 2PM. Sorry for the short notice. We tried calling you last night but we didn't get an answer. Is the time suitable to you?" The lawyer asked.
"Uh...yeah, sure. That's fine" Peter said. He had wanted it to be another day so he could mentally prepare himself but it seems that wasn't the case.
Peter needed someone there with him. He couldn't be there alone with Harry who was probably going to bring Gwen with him.
"Excellent. I'll see you there, Mr. Parker" The General Counsel said before hanging up the phone.
"What was that about, Peter?" May asked, curiously as she laid another plate of bacon, eggs and toast.
"Uh...I have to stop by Oscorp this afternoon to read Norman Osborn's will" Peter said, shaking his head.
"Really? How sad…" May said, looking down at the table as she sat down.
"...Yeah...A true loss…" Peter said, slowly, narrowing his eyes at the wall. He then proceeded to ask Aunt May if she could be there with him at 2.
"Oh, I'm sorry, honey but I need to go to my chiropractor that time. My back's been out of shape lately. Can you not go alone, dear?" May asked.
"Uh...I…" Peter trailed on his answering. May sensed his uneasiness and raised an eyebrow.
"Now honey, I know you and Harry aren't on good terms right now but you're going to have to face him sooner or later to clear the air between the two of you" May said.
"...I don't think I can, Aunt May. I...I may need to call Liz...or maybe Felicia could go with me" Peter said, trying to come up with solutions.
"If you think that's best, dearie. Anyway, it's almost noon. You need to start getting ready for your appointment" May said.
"Right….I will..." Peter said as he hurried upstairs and scrambled to get his phone out. He quickly dialed Liz's number then Felicia's to put them into a conference call.
As they both answered, Peter quickly started talking before they could even hello.
"Hey Liz, Felicia, I have you both on a conference call. Sorry for the urgency but I was wondering could you meet me at Oscorp at around 2 today? Norman Osborn's will is going to be read and I really, really don't want to be alone there with Harry and Gwen. I still have PTSD from what happened a few months ago. Are you both able to? Please?" Peter asked very quickly, practically begging.
"Petey, Petey! Calm down. Of course I'll be there with you. What kind of girlfriend would I be if I left you alone with those 2?" Liz said. Peter could see the see the sneer on her face as she said that.
"Ditto from me, Pete. I'll be there too. I'll deal with them myself if I have to. You've seen how sharp my claws can be" Felicia said, letting out an angry cat hiss over the phone.
"Overacting just a teeny bit there, Kitty" Liz said. Peter could just see her give a weird look right now which caused him to smirk.
"You haven't seen my claws, honey" Felicia lightly remarked.
Peter let out a little light chuckle.
"Thanks, girls. You 2 are the best" Peter said, relieved.
"Of course, Petey. Just relax. We'll both be there" Liz said, assuring him.
"Just get ready and we'll go down there together, Pete. Maybe you'll get some of the bastard's money" Felicia said bluntly.
"It's kind of the last thing on my mind right now and despite the wordless feud me and Harry are having, I still see him as a friend and I don't really want to celebrate his father's death...no matter what he did when he was alive" Peter said, somberly.
"Ah, you're such a big boy scout. Guess that's what I always liked about you. Anyway, I gotta get ready. I'll see you there, Pete. Love you" Felicia said.
"Same, Petey. Love you" Liz said to him.
"I...love the both of you too. Thank you" Peter said as he hung up the phone. He needed to get used to saying that. He gave a sigh and went to his bed to take a quick nap before he had to get ready. It was going to be a very awkward time and he wanted to be as mentally rested as he could.
