(A/N: I do not own Spiderman. That right belongs to Sony.
Also guys, I'm going to have to ask you to please stop asking me to adding Gwen to the Harem. I'm notified of every review I get. I've seen the request.
I'm honestly on the fence about adding her but constantly asking me is not going to help her get added in and it'll likely make me not want to add her in. I'm not saying this to be rude and I apologize if it comes off like that but I would like to see different kinds of reviews other then 'Add Gwen In!' all the time).
*Lunch*
Liz and Peter sat beside each other at lunch. They sat there are talked about their day until Peter decided to bring up a topic that was on his mind.
"Hey, Liz, uh...have you looked into what was going on with your hands back at the will reading? You know, when Harry said your hands were really hot?" Peter asked.
Liz scratched her chin. "Well...not really. I haven't really thought about it until last night. I started thinking about Osborn and what he said to you that day and it got me riled up. I went to the bathroom and accidentally slammed the door. My dad tried to come bursting in but he let go of the handle, shrieking in pain. He asked me what I did to the handle because he said it was really hot"
"Hm...you don't think it has anything to do with your brother, do you?" Peter asked, curiously.
"I don't know, Petey. My brother's mutant powers...they...they may be genetic. I...I just don't know" Liz said, worried. She didn't know if she could handle this. What if she wouldn't be able to control her powers. What if she became a monster. She began panicking, breathing heavily. Peter had to wrap his arms around her to calm her down.
"It'll be ok, Liz. Relax...Why don't we call up Dr. Connors from Florida this week? We can send him a blood sample and he may be able to explain this and if it turns out you do have your brother's powers" Peter suggested.
"Well...ok...but what about that guy already at the ESU Lab? Dr. Warren's brother?" Liz asked.
"I don't trust him. He always gave a weird vibe to me and plus, I heard Norman recommended him which is already a red flag to me" Peter said, scratching his chin.
"Yeah, I can see why but Petey...what happens if I...you know...have it?" Liz asked.
"It'll be ok. We'll figure something out" Peter said, smiling softly at her, sending a warm comfort down Liz's spine.
Liz smiled at Peter as she nuzzled into his arm. "Thanks, Petey. You've always known how to calm me down"
"It's the boyfriend's job to keep our crazy girlfriends calm" Peter said, cheekily which caused Liz to lightly shove him.
"Oh shush" Liz said before kissing him. At that moment, Mary-Jane and Gwen had finished getting their food and sat down with Peter and Liz.
"Hey, Lovebirds. Gwen caught up to me and explained what happened. I'm sorry, Tiger. I never realized Harry was such an asshole" Mary-Jane said, sitting down.
Peter looked to the redhead and sighed.
"I don't know what's going on with him. Ever since we got into Junior year, he's been obsessed with 'making it', so to speak. Wanting to get on the football team, wanting to get in with the 'in crowd'. It's like our friendship wasn't enough for him anymore" Peter said as he took a bite of corn chowder.
"Do you think you'll ever be able to patch it up with him?" Mary-Jane asked.
"I don't know. If fortune favors...but we've seen how she's been treating me lately so...I honestly doubt it'll be anytime soon" Peter said, somberly. Liz noticed and squeezed his hand, comforting him.
Gwen looked at the scene and slightly grimaced. This was something she would have to get used to...though it wouldn't be easy.
Speaking of the 'in crowd', a table occupied by Flash, Sha Shan, Sally, Randy, Kenny and Glory was nearby and a particular blond girl's eyes were on Peter's table.
"Would you look at that? I heard Lizzie had gotten back together with Parker but I didn't want to believe it. Why would a smokin' hot babe like her who could have any guy she wants go for that?" Sally asked.
"What does it matter? She likes him, he likes her. That should be the end of it" Sha Shan insisted. Flash just shrugged, not saying a word on the subject. Ever since he and Sha Shan got together, he'd mellowed out a lot in order to please his girlfriend.
"I'm just sayin'. Plus, Parker's a loose cannon. You guys hear he became an alcoholic over the summer?" Sally asked her friends.
"Really? I didn't hear that" Randy said, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah. Word has it Stacy was going to leave Osborn for Parker but after Osborn's dad died, she stayed with him out of pity and cut Parker out of her life for a bit so he started drinkin' to make himself feel better. What a crybaby" Sally said, sneering at him.
"Aw, poor guy" Glory said, looking sympathetically at Peter. Randy gave a look of concern as well. He never understood his group's need to hate on the guy. He never did anything to them. Why constantly torment him?
"Why is she with them now, though? Where's Osborn?" Randy asked, curiously.
"Didn't ya hear? Stacy dumped Osborn in front of practically the entire school. Apparently he eavesdropped on them planning to get together so he guilt tripped her with his dad's death at his funeral so she'd stay with him" Sally said, chuckling.
"You can't be serious. That is the sickest thing I've ever heard" Glory said, sneering. Sha Shan nodded her head in agreement.
"What does it matter to him now? Heard he also inherited Oscorp and got truckloads of money in a trust fund left to him" Kenny said, looking enviously at Peter in contrast to his girlfriend.
"Ah...that must be the reason why she got back together with him" Sally said, smirking.
"Jumping to conclusions a bit there, aren't you, Sally?" Sha Shan asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Why not? It's the only reason it can be. Oh, it'll be so fun to see his face when he realizes that's all she wants him for" Sally said, getting up from her seat. Randy grabbed her arm.
"Sal, whatever you're thinking about doing, please don't" Randy practically pleaded, not wanting to see what would come next.
"Oh come on, Rand! It'll be funny! Just watch" Sally insisted, shaking herself from her boyfriend's arm. She then proceeded to march down to Peter's table and stood over both him and Liz.
Mary-Jane and Gwen who were on the other side of Peter and Liz looked up at Sally standing behind the both of them. Noticing the shadow and noticing MJ and Gwen looking up behind them, both Peter and Liz turned around to see Sally smirking down at them.
"Hey there, happy couple" Sally said in a sarcastic tone.
"Uh...Sal...what are you-?" Liz attempted to ask before she was interrupted.
"Doing here? Just checking up on my best gal and her beau. Do you mind if I sit?" Sally asked.
"Well actually-" Peter said before she sat down, squeezing in between him and Liz uninvited.
"Sal, what the hell?!" Liz asked, getting frustrated.
"What, just wanted to see what was going on. So hey, Pete, I see my girl Liz took you back. Good for you" Sally said, pinching Peter's cheek who lightly shoved it away.
"You better stop what you're doing if you know what's good for you" Gwen threatened with a dark look on her face.
"Oh relax, little geekette. I ain't doing much. I'm just wonderin' how my boy Peter got back with my girl Liz here. Say Pete, it wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you recently came into a lot of loot, is it? You been buyin' her diamonds and stuff?" Sally asked with a kind of evil smirk.
"Sally, he hasn't bought me anything like that nor do I want him to" Liz said, glaring at Sally. She knew she didn't like Peter but this was ridiculous.
"Oh, ok. Hm...then why else would you be back together with Parker, I wonder...let's see here...Ah! I get it now! I guess it's because Parker knows where to get all the cheap booze, innit?" Sally asked and gave a bit of a cruel laugh.
Peter didn't say a word. He just stared at her blankly before non-chalantly taking another bite of his chowder.
Gwen and Mary-Jane were shocked and practically seething with anger at her bluntness. However, they hadn't said a word. They just glared deeply at the cruelty of this blonde bimbo.
Liz on the other hand wasn't so quiet on this issue. With an angry face on, she quickly stood up and glared down at Sally. The blonde noticed and twitched at the sight.
"Sally, get out of here. Now" Liz demanded, referring to her by her full name instead of her nickname for her and pointing back to the table where she was sitting, where her boyfriend Randy was slinking down in his seat from embarrassment.
"Wha...what? Liz...girl, I-" Sally said before Liz interrupted her.
"No, Sally. I won't have you talking to Petey like that. He's been through enough pain as it is and I am not going to let you make it worse. Go" Liz said, not changing her stride.
"But...but-" Sally tried to say.
"Go!" Liz demanded one final time before Sally got the message and quietly went back to her seat.
Randy just sat there looking embarrassed while Sha Shan and Glory just glared at her. They both got up and left the table with their trays, refusing to even look at her right now. Flash and Kenny followed their girlfriends, leaving Sally alone with her boyfriend, Rand.
"Jeez, it was just a joke. People need to lighten up" Sally said, glaring at the two couples leaving the table.
"Hey, uh...Sal...I...just remembered. I got a….paper due tomorrow that I gotta finish. I need to make a few finishing touches" Randy said, slowly getting up from the table.
"What are you talking about? It's the first day of senior year!" Sally said, raising an eyebrow at him.
"It was uh...Summer homework. Yeah. Summer. I...just really gotta go finish it" Randy said, quickly giving Sally a hug and then leaving the table, leaving the blonde girl to herself, stunned at what just happened. Afterwards, she just sulked and ate her food alone.
"I'm so sorry, Petey. I never knew Sally could go that far" Liz said, hugging him
"I always thought she could and this confirms it. How do you put up with this bitch, Liz?" Mary-Jane asked incredulously.
"I...well...I was almost kind of like her just a year back. Back from before Petey started tutoring me. I never knew someone this geeky could be so kind, so sweet and so funny at the same time" Liz said, gazing longingly at Peter.
"Geeky, huh?" Peter asked with a smirk
"Yeah, Petey. Geeky...but I like geeky. You converted me" Liz said, giggling and kissing Peter's cheek. Gwen looked away from this. Getting used to this was going to be harder than she originally thought.
"Still, if she's this hostile to Peter, do you really think it's a good idea to keep being around her like you usually are?" Mary-Jane asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know. She's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I don't want to just cut her out of my life...but you are right. She has changed recently and not at all in a good way...or maybe I changed too much. Either way, I really wish she would get over this bratty high school attitude she's got. Sure, it may do her some good now but not 10 years from now when she's supposed to have a job and has to work with people she doesn't usually hang around with" Liz said, lowering her head down.
"I think it's worth at least talking to her about. I don't really want you and her to end up like me and Harry" Peter said, encouraging her.
"You can't be serious, Tiger. After this girl straight up made fun of you like that and implied Liz was using you?" Mary-Jane asked with a raised eyebrow, surprised.
"Well...as I've learned over this summer, friendships are more important than they're given credit for. If you hadn't been there for me, MJ, I would have been far worse off than I was. I have no right to come in between a friendship that had been in place for such a long time, no matter how I feel about her so...whatever you decide with Sally, Liz, I'll support it. I owe you at least that much after all you've done for me" Peter said, smiling softly at her.
Liz shook her head while smiling a wide smile.
"You are the most amazing guy, you know that?" Liz said, giving him a momentary deep kiss.
"Yeah...He really is" Gwen said, regretfully as she looked down at her practically untouched food.
Suddenly, the bell rang. Lunch had gone by fast. Peter looked at the next class on his schedule. History with Felicia. He gave a brief mental groan but in reality, he was actually kind of excited to have his other girlfriend as a teacher. He was still a teenaged boy after all with hormones and had certain...fantasies.
"So I'll see you guys later then?" Peter asked as he got up.
"You know it, Petey" Liz said, kissing his cheek.
"See you around, Tiger. Maybe we'll meet up at the Silver Spoon after school" Mary-Jane suggested.
"Yeah, I'd be good for something like that" Gwen said with a small smile and sad eyes.
"Same. Are you game, Petey?" Liz asked, looking up at him.
Peter paused before nodding. "Yeah...that sounds great, I think. I'd be happy to go with you guys"
"Great! See you later, Petey" Liz said, kissing his cheek again. At that moment, the bell rang and it was time to go to the next class.
