It had been an hour since Springtrap left her alone in the office. There was no other peep from the animatronics in the attraction, despite the fact Saphira was still checking to see if everyone was in their place. Though while she had confidence that nothing would really happen during the rest of the night now, she was thinking a lot about what Springtrap had said. She caressed the necklace thoughtfully as she thought about what to do over the next couple nights. She didn't know how things would go and if Springtrap would go through with his threat.

She groaned and stood up with a grimace. Her legs felt stiff and she grabbed the tablet as she decided to walk around the attraction to stretch her legs, and to see if any of the other animatronics would talk to her. She was happy that Foxy had spoken to her, though she knew he was trying to be friendly and threatening at the same time. It kind of seemed like a conflict in a way. She didn't know how the others felt about her being back.

Saphira made her way through the hallways, taking the long way to the kitchens as she decided to walk that way first. She heard the notification go off again on the tablet and just hit reboot without looking. She needed time to think. Even if it meant walking around and checking the animatronics. She had no doubt that Springtrap would say something to her when she passes by him in the Haunted Classroom.

She paused though when she heard something. She turned and shined the light down the hallway with a curious frown. "Springtrap? Is that you?" No response. She sighed deeply. "Alright, if anyone else is trying to sneak up to me, I can hear you. You lot are all big and heavy, so I can hear you all."

There was no response and the sound stopped. She rolled her eyes and continued walking towards the door into the loading dock. As she reached for the door, she heard the sound again. And she was certain it sounded like someone was crawling. She looked behind her again with a frown before she noticed something on the ceiling. She shined her light up and yelped in surprise, backing away slightly when she saw Mangle looking at her.

"You can crawl on the ceiling?" She asked in disbelief and Mangle chuckled softly. "Wow…that's…creepy…" Saphira shook her head and smiled slightly at her. "Um…don't tell me you are…um…"

"Relax, I just want to talk, Saphira." Mangle, with her feet gripping the ceiling, lowered herself carefully onto the ground. "Though, how was my stalking? Did I creep you out at all?"

"Uhh…should I answer that?"

The animatronic chuckled again and Saphira watched as white and pink panels pulled out of a slot in Mangle's back and shifted around her body as she stood up and her limbs fix themselves and the additional head was tucked against her internal endo body as the plates completely cover her. Saphira has not really seen this properly before, so seeing it right now was rather cool.

"Did you want to keep walking while we talk?" Mangle asked curiously. "Seems like you had a lot on your mind. And I can…well…guess why."

"Oh…are you going to tell me how wrong I was that I couldn't come back?" Saphira asked in a low, sad voice. "I don't want to have to tell the reason why, it hurts too much. But I am sorry…"

Mangle smiled at her with a kind expression. "Listen, Saphira, I am not mad. To be honest, I was one of the least mad at you. Bonnie, Toy Bonnie and…I think Golden Bonnie were the only ones who weren't terribly mad at you. Kids come and go all the time, even long-time visitors and that is life."

"Yeah…but I somehow had an impact…" She turned and opened the door to the loading dock and the animatronic followed her. Saphira was still weary about her after what had happened tonight. "I…did not even know that I did."

"I can actually understand. I don't think everyone has really taken the time to notice that human children don't really understand everything that they do and the consequences. You are…seventeen, right?" Saphira nodded and Mangle continued. "At seven, you probably didn't know what you wanted to be when you grew up." She couldn't argue with that, though Saphira was somewhat impressed with Mangle. "How old were you again when Springtrap arrived here?"

"Uhh…" Saphira had to think on that for a moment. "Well…this attraction has been open for thirteen years…so I was four when it open. I know I was here for the grand opening, and I remember Springtrap being one of the first horror animatronics. I think I was also the first one to run up to him and say hi."

"Wow…that is a long time ago…" Mangle put the numbers down, and realized that Springtrap and Saphira had been friends for three years before she stopped coming. "And during the three years you had been coming here, you developed a close bond with Springtrap. You had him at your birthdays."

She nodded with a smile. "Yeah…I did. My parents used to tell me to pick Freddy or Bonnie…but I wanted Springtrap. Everytime we would come to the restaurant, he was the first one I would go and say hi…because everytime I saw kids near him and he would wave, they would run and scream. I still don't understand…are kids still scared of him?" The animatronic nodded. "Wow…okay…"

She looked ahead to head to the kitchen, though Mangle moved to stand in front of her suddenly, making Saphira nervous. "Sorry, but…" Mangle paused as she moved her ears as though she was trying to listen. "Look, I am not trying to hurt you…though I guess my word matters little after what happened." She looked at Saphira with a sad expression. "I am sorry they hurt you…physically."

Saphira widened her eyes and relaxed a little. "You seem skincare about that…Foxy pretty much admitted killing me was on the agenda tonight."

"Sadly, that is the norm here, Saphira. We have to kill humans to stay alive." Saphira frowned curiously and Mangle pressed her jaw together for a moment. "Well…I just said a little too much…but yes, we are alive. Don't ask me how, we don't know." She nods slowly as she listened to Mangle carefully. "Anyway…I am sorry. I personally hate killing people. I actually don't. I haven't killed someone in years…though that never makes me feel any better I guess."

Saphira smiled at Mangle as she listened to her. "You shouldn't feel the need to apologize, Mangle…" She felt more relaxed now that this animatronic was being genuine with her. "Whoever made you is obviously the monster." The animatronic just shrugged a little, not really caring at this point. "Anyway, do you have anything to tell me about Springtrap? What happened when I stopped coming?"

Mangle glanced around again. "I really should let him tell you…but…Springtrap…a month after you stopped coming, he realized you were not coming back. Though he tried pushing through each day, and when it was your birthday…which is…uh…"

"September."

"Yes…September…he had hoped you would come back. Your pictures were still on the party wall…but they were taken down and replaced with new photos of other kids with the other animatronics. Taking away the only thing that showed Springtrap was as friendly and as fun as the other animatronics." That sounded horrible. Saphira could see how that would have affected him. "To be honest…I know it wasn't your fault, but he became a monster."

She frowned a little. "He used to say that all the time. I didn't believe him…now I still don't…I think…"

The animatronic's smile widened a little. "You still have that same sentiment. I know Springtrap told us how happy he was when you would keep going back and playing with him. You apparently did a lot together. You used to make glitter bombs in the Haunted Classroom, which always exploded on yourselves, and you would furiously try to clean him before a staff member saw…"

Saphira chuckled as she remembered that. "Yeah…we did that way too much."

"And…I think you used to play…doctor, right?" She nodded affirmatively. The animatronic paused and looked down. "The amount of things you would do with Springtrap each time you came, Saphira…well, it brought joy to his life. He could push through, even though he would almost get distracted when a kid would scrape their knee. Human blood is rather hard to ignore when we get that smell. He felt a sense of comfort knowing that there was a human who didn't care about what he looked like…and what he was doing, even if you did not know."

She felt even more sadness for Springtrap. She had no idea she impacted him so much. "I…never knew he cared a lot for me…"

"He still does."

She widened her eyes and shook her head. "Yeah, right. After what he did tonight, it is a strange way for him to show he cares. Even if he spared me, despite the fact I had to watch teenagers being chomped in front of me…dying in front of me, I…"

"I know, Saphira. I know. But I don't think Springtrap was truly prepared to ever see you again. He's never considered the possibility. After all, we all knew you would grow up one day and you could have brought in a child of your own. And I must say…" Mangle smiled happily at her. "You are quite the stunner, Saphira. I have seen so many young women through here, and you are a stunner."

Saphira felt flustered suddenly from the comment. "Uh…I didn't expect that you would even notice…"

Mangle chuckled softly. "Believe it or not, but we learned overtime in the differences between humans. And we started figuring out who was decent looking or average."

The girl snickered in amusement and disbelief. "Now that is funny. I guess you've had to learn things…anyway…" She paused as she thought back to Springtrap. "I have to ask, when you are around the kids, do you sometimes find it hard to not…lose control?"

"I don't, because I actually sleep while the kids poke and prod at me when I am in dismembered mode. But, uh…" She visibly grimaced and looked away from Saphira. "It…it has happened…only a couple times…and I can assure you, they were accidents. One time Bonnie had to be pulled away to Parts and Service by a staff member to get some cleaning and the technician had left his cleaning products in some stupid place and left Bonnie alone. Now that would not normally be a bad thing, but a boy followed them, snuck inside and…Bonnie was just stretching his arms and back, and the kid snuck behind him to scare him. Bonnie was startled and turned, swinging his arms and…" Mangle took a deep breath and shook her head. "The boy was hit and flew into the wall. Bonnie thought he was okay when he checked on him, but…the boy's neck had snapped. And…Bonnie panicked and hid the body in one of the empty cabinets…until night."

"Oh, so nothing like…you know, someone getting a paper cut and you all going crazy?" Saphira questioned curiously.

"That did happen…once…Fredbear was the culprit, he's a lot less sympathetic to people though. Fredbear used to be pretty nice, though seeing what Springtrap went through after you left kind of sapped that out of him. He was starving one day and a kid entered the dining hall when it was empty and she approached Fredbear, and accidently scraped her leg on a chair…" Mangle paused as she was having a hard time admitting these things. "Well…Freddy, Bonnie and Chica were playing their music loud enough and no one heard the girl's screams. Fredbear managed to keep the room clean, but we all smelt the child later."

Saphira shivered as goose bumps cover her skin. "You're really destroying the happy image I had of you all when I was a child, Mangle…uh…can you move aside so I can keep walking?"

Mangle stepped away and Saphira opened the door to walk down the short hallway to the kitchen. "I know I am, and I apologize. But I also want you to be aware of what you are walking into if you decide to come back. But I honestly do not think you should." Saphira did not respond and kept walking. Mangle widened her eyes worryingly at the silence. "You are, aren't you?"

Saphira shrugged. "I…have not decided. My life is kind of complicated at the moment too…so…I am not sure…"

"Would that not be better than facing the reality of potentially being killed and eaten by one of us?" Mangle argued gently. "I don't want to see you die, Saphira. You are kind and gentle, I know that. I do not know how much you have really changed since you were a child, but I know that kindness and gentleness were always your personality traits. And…well, I still think of you as our friend…" Saphira stopped and turned to look at her in surprise. "And as your friend, I want to make sure you are safe. Please listen to that reason. I know Springtrap…his way of telling you to leave might not have been the best."

"No…if anything, it made me feel guilty…" Saphira turned and opened the door into the kitchen, shining her flashlight around as she walked inside. "I shouldn't feel guilty…but had I known you guys were…well…alive and sentient with feelings and memories, I might have convinced my parents to come back one last time and explain why I could not come back. But I cannot go back and change the past."

Mangle felt bad for Saphira. She should not be feeling guilty, but Saphira had such a close bond that it made sense. "I know. No one here would ask you to do that. You should not be feeling guilty, you are right. What happened was not your fault, nor is it Springtrap's. It was an accident that took someone from you…and more."

Saphira nodded and let a few tears roll down her cheeks. "Yeah…it did."

Mangle thought about hugging the girl, though she knew she could not. The other animatronics would not like it. She was already walking a tight rope just coming and talking to Saphira like this. Springtrap had come back to the other animatronics and instructed them to not be kind to Saphira, regardless of their feelings. She had felt otherwise.

Saphira looked at her tablet as an alert goes off and clicked the reboot. She walked through the kitchen to the storage area. She heard Mangle gasp and stop for a moment. "I am sorry, I need to go now. I cannot accompany you further. That leads to the Haunted Classroom. It is best I am not seen with you."

"I understand…go where you need to, Mangle. I will be fine on my own." Saphira watched the animatronic nod and turned to leave the kitchen while she walked through the storage, feeling the chill of the fridges and freezers as she walked by them. She walked out of the door at the other end and looked around at the Haunted Classroom. She took a deep breath and grimaced. "Pfft…still smells like blood."

She hoped she wouldn't get sick by the smell, but she made her way through the section, though she did not bother to check where the animatronics were. Still, she let some more tears fall as she thought about everything Mangle had told her. It sounded like an awful life they were living. She looked around and realized this was almost like a prison for the animatronics, and they were forced to eat certain meals. Humans.

She knew she probably should not feel sorry for them, but she did. She took a deep breath and let more tears fall as she continued to walk and made her way to the doors to go through the main dining room. She thought about checking the Toy Plaza, but as she thought about it and was about to make a right turn, she came face-to-face with Fredbear.

She gasped and stepped back as he looked at her with suspicious eyes. "And just what do you think you are doing, hmm? Trying to find evidence of those boys, huh?"

She stared at him as he glared at her and sniffled. "S-Sorry…I…I am…just doing my job…" She smiled a little with a shrug and walked around him cautiously as he turned his body, following her with his purple eyes. "I…I am really sorry, Fredbear…"

He narrowed his eyes. "For what?"

Saphira opened her mouth to respond, though nothing came out for a moment. "For…f-f-f…for existing…" She turned on her heel and walked away.

Fredbear frowned in confusion. "What is that supposed to mean, huh?" She did not respond as she kept walking. "Alright, walk away! Go on! Just like you did last time!" Saphira stopped in her tracks. "Ah ha, so you were apologizing for that, right?" She glanced over her shoulder him. "Don't think I will ever trust you again."

Saphira swallowed and turned her head away to keep walking away. She rubbed her arms nervously and entered the main room. She looked at the stage to see Bonnie and Foxy sitting on the stage, talking with each other, while Freddy was down in front, Chica was laying on her stomach with her head resting on his hands and kicking her feet in the air, Golden Bonnie was sitting beside Foxy and Toy Foxy was standing by them. They all look at her curiously, silencing their chatter and she kept walking.

She froze when she heard the sound of yelping and turned with worry, thinking it was another human who trespassed, only to hear a loud thud and she recognized Mangle's voice. She sounded frightening and someone was talking to her. She couldn't tell who it was, it was not Fredbear or Springtrap, it was someone else. She thought about checking, but she was too scared and turned, running over to the door and opened it to run back to the office.

She slipped on the tiles and grazed her knees, making her gasp as she scurried to the chair, checking the cameras to find Mangle huddled on the floor with Phantom Mangle yelling at her. She was surprised, and it looked like Mangle had been hit. She wondered if that meant the animatronics knew they were talking. Saphira sighed and looked at her knee. Thankfully there was no blood from the graze, but it still stung. She remained in the office, watching the cameras until six finally came around and the animatronics returned to their posts.

She clocked out as the prep staff began to arrive to start in the kitchen and left the attraction. Her mind was racing and she thought about it. As she reached her car, she stopped and looked back at the attraction. She knew that her first night here should have told her to leave. But something told her that she shouldn't. She wanted to come back. Springtrap and Mangle might have told her why she should come back, and seeing what happened to the teenagers should have told her to leave too…but all these happenings made her realize someone made these animatronics the way they are.

And I want to know who made them, why and how. I want to try and help them if I can. I know this might be dangerous…and I am crazy to do this, but…I think they need someone to help them. After all, a human has made them…and the new nightmare animatronics will likely be like them too.
