After going around the facility and checking the doors, Saphira and Springtrap were able to gather the other animatronics regarding Samson's body. Most of them were shocked, though Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Fredbear, Mangle and Toy Bonnie confirmed that they had seen people behaving strangely in the attraction. Along with Fredbear, Bonnie and Freddy admitting to seeing something strange, as they had all noticed something with Samson. Though they still did not know why he had been killed. The body was pulled out of the freezer and sat on a table while they stood in the main dining room talking.
"So, Samson was acting rather strange, like he was nervous?" Saphira asked the animatronics curiously. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Fredbear nod in unison. She looked at Mangle and Toy Bonnie. "And you both and Freddy noticed a few people acting strangely around the area near where the light controls were. Hmm…this is weird." She looked at the body that they placed on the table as she thought about it. She felt a bit like a detective at the moment with how she was wondering what happened. "And the note seemed to indicate someone knows you are alive."
"And it seems to be Mike's writing," Freddy said as he looked at the note curiously. "I have seen his writing, and I can tell that is his writing. Still…" He looked at the body with a frown. "I am not sure if I like this. I much prefer not knowing who our food is." Saphira gave him a little and he smiled a little. "Right, right…I know, we almost got you, Saphira. That was probably the wrong thing I said."
"Sort of, yeah. How long did this man work here?" Saphira knew he did not work at the attraction when she was coming here as a child, though she didn't really have a lot of interaction with the workers anyway. "If you seem to think this is strange, he must have been here a while."
"Actually, not really." She looked at Phantom Bonnie in surprise and curiosity. "He's been here for a year…however…Samson was getting a little bit close to us animatronics in the last few weeks. I am not sure why."
"Yeah, he was," Fredbear admitted thoughtfully with a frown. "He was really getting close to me the other day. He was poking and prodding…kind of like when you felt my inner skin, Saphira. But he did it without really asking, though of course he did not know we are alive." She raised an eyebrow and realized why the man might have been killed. "I am not sure what prompted him to even get closer."
"Maybe he noticed we were a little more than robotic animatronics," Bonnie said thoughtfully. "I remember overhearing him working at a different restaurant with animatronics, and how we are the most fluid-like animatronics he's ever seen."
"Oh…" Saphira rubbed the back of her neck as she listened to them, realizing that was likely the reason. "Someone who has seen how robotic animatronics work probably realized you were not normal." She sighed a little and shook her head. "And he was getting closer to the truth…"
"And this is probably a warning to you." Bonnie looked at Saphira and she shrugged a little. "I am serious, Saphira. You already said you have seen a few things regarding us. And I don't know if you are making it obvious or not, but…what if you are next?" He glanced at the body briefly and looked back at Saphira. "What if you end up worse than Samson here?"
"I appreciate the concern, Bonnie. Though considering I did not make a huge mess with the files, I highly doubt he would suspect I know any further than knowing you are all alive." Saphira did know though this could be a direct warning to her too. But she suspected it was not if this man was already checking the animatronics closely, and Mike had taken notice. "But I did ask some general questions earlier, but nothing to direct."
"And that was probably so smart…" Freddy shook his head with a huff. "So…since there is nothing we can really do…are we really expected to eat frozen meat?" He looked around at the others who seemed less than pleased by the idea. "I am not so sure if I want that."
"I don't know what will happen if you don't…Mike might act like I am the one who killed him." Saphira knew this was a rather unusual situation, and she did not like it one bit. And the other thing was the security cameras did not actually record anything. That was a flaw in her opinion fer general security, but she was glad in this case since she did not want Mike to see her and the animatronics interacting friendly using the cameras. "I guess…um…" She felt really unsure, but her stomach was starting to churn as she realized she was casually talking with the animatronics about eating a dead man. "Excuse me."
Saphira turned and walked away, although she almost walked right into Springtrap and he looked at her with worry. "Are you okay? You're pale…" She walked around him quickly and ran towards the nearest bathroom. "Oh…" He looked back at the other animatronics. "I guess we just wait for this to defrost or something."
Golden Bonnie frowned a little. "Springtrap, we have kind of overeaten, though. I am not sure if I want to eat anymore." Her ears twitch when they heard the sound of Saphira heaving into the toilet.
Springtrap sighed deeply. "I know…but Mangle and the phantom animatronics have had the least this week. So they can eat him. I am not hungry myself, though…Saphira did bring other things to eat…we might have to be polite." He turned to walk towards the bathroom. "This is by far the weirdest thing we've ever experienced." He walked to the door and pushed it open, stepping inside and hearing the horrible sound. "Saphira?" He looked at one of the cubicles and saw Saphira hunched over the toilet bowl. He walked over and placed his hand on her back. He felt her tense as he rubbed gently. "I guess you are not really cut out for discussing whether we should eat a person or not."
Saphira let a chuckle and closed the lid of the toilet and pulled herself up slowly to sit on the lid. "It honestly just hit me with the realisation that I was literally about to have a casual discussion about it. But also…uh…I guess…well, the memory of the first night hasn't really gone away." Springtrap softened his expression. "But you did stop teenagers from…" She rubbed her neck to feel the necklace. "Taking the most important thing I had in my life."
He smiled at her. "I admit, I did get very angry that he tried to take it from you." He huffed a little to himself. "Ironic. I was angry at you, but the boy made me angrier when I realized he was going to damage the necklace in front of you. A part of me still wanted to be friends with you at the time, I guess."
"Yeah…I kind of got that," Saphira said with a smile. "It took me a little while to realize that if you had wanted to kill me, you really would have done it. But a part of you didn't want to do that, so you resorted to trying to get me out…" She shrugged a little and stood up, flushing the toilet with a sigh. "And now our first time at restarting our friendship now involves a murder…and I don't consider what you do to be murder."
Springtrap stared in disbelief as he did not understand her. "Well…since that has been…kind of dealt with, should we go and check out the new area? I know that finding the man's body probably made the night rather less than favorable for you…me too, actually…after all, we are a little unsure about what will happen now. If Mike kills one person…who is next on the list?"
"Honestly…that is a good question." She walked out of the cubicle and walked to the door to head out. "I mean, I kind of still want to see Bedroom of Nightmares…though you are right the excitement to see it is pretty much gone. And I am not sure how I will feel for the rest of the night."
"Well…I know hot chocolate works for you." She looked at Springtrap in surprise and smirked at him with a nod. "I could ask Toy Chica to make something for you…or we have the chocolate you brought…I assume it makes anyone feel good as well."
She looked at him curiously as she stepped out of the bathroom. "That makes me think you have never had chocolate, have you?" He shook his head. "Hmm…you know, we might have to change that. Since I am here, you might find you will get to enjoy other things. I might see if I can get a chocolate fondue...that is going to blow your minds."
"Chocolate fondue?" Saphira turned and smiled at Toy Chica who was very intrigued by that. "I've heard of that! What is it?"
Saphira chuckled softly. "I would tell you…but that is a secret. I'll bring one in soon."
"Aw…" Toy Chica really wanted to know. "Hmm…oh well!" She shrugged with a smile. "Anyway, where were you both going? To the new area right?" They both nod. "Wonderful! Can I come! I really, really, really want to see how creepy this Bedroom of Nightmares is."
"If you knew how scary the nightmare animatronics will look, I am sure you'll be able to picture it," Saphira said with a chuckle as she turned to head towards the door that leads to the hallway between the main dining room, Toy Plaza and leads up to Haunted Classroom. "But I am sure that despite how scary these nightmare bots might look, they'll be big softies on the inside. Like Springtrap."
He stuttered a little as Toy Chica giggled while Bonnie, Freddy, Fredbear and Toy Bonnie walk towards them to follow them. "I am not sure if I would be considered a big softie, Saphira. I mean…um…I don't think I have ever been like that."
"To me you are," Saphira said confidently. "I know everyone else might say otherwise, maybe you do given how you hunt and all, but I think you are very nice." He rolled his eyes at her in amusement. "Though…Mike said that the nightmares are coming in a month. Makes me wonder how they will arrive and where they will come from."
"Isn't that what you want to know about us?" Bonnie asked curiously. He noticed Saphira seemed to be thinking and he tilts his head. "I hope you aren't really thinking about trying to do something stupid, Saphira. You will likely be here when the animatronics arrive…maybe, though there is no guarantee about that."
Saphira did not respond to Bonnie straight away. He was right that she was indeed thinking about it. If she survived the month, she might be able to see if she can see who delivers the animatronics. Though she has already thought about looking for the RAM. Being black with no plates was something that interested her. Sure, it probably will be dangerous to follow, but she might be able to figure out where the animatronic creator lives. She suspects he isn't far.
"I am not thinking about anything stupid, Bonnie. I just want to be able to know how you exist, that is all." Saphira opened the doors into the Haunted Classroom and walked through. "Though to be fair, I am still not exactly sure how to start…I already peaked through the files in the office…that is a start I suppose."
"We already know that, but…after what happened with Samson…I don't know…" Bonnie sighed deeply as he knew they were past trying to make Saphira leave now. She's already showed that she wants to remain. "I know nothing we do can make you leave. I just hope that you will leave on your own before it is too late."
Saphira looked at him with a kind smile, happy he was worried for her safety. "It will be okay, Bonnie. I know you are trying to look out for me, and I really appreciate it. But I will be okay." The animatronics were still uncertain, though they did not push the issue. "It is a shame I probably can't share some food today, but if you all want, I brought a few things for us to nibble on. I had hoped to play music in the main dining room…though we can't do that now."
"What about my room?" Fredbear asked with a smile on his face. "We could use that. It might not be as big as the main room, but really, there is not as many of us as there would be guests during the day." Saphira thought about the idea as they walk through the section. "I would like to do something, if we can."
Saphira thought about it and looked at him with a smile. "I guess we could do that...but I want to see this Bedtime of Nightmares." She spotted the new door at the end with a sign on it. Nightmares Contained, Enter at Your Risk. Along with a No Entry sign. "A simple, white door...I like it."
Springtrap sniffed suddenly with a frown. "Blood?" She stopped and turned in surprise. "I smell blood..." She looked around as the other animatronics sniff. "Wha..." He frowned in confusion... "This is weird. We haven't had any intruders."
"That smells like...Bobby. He was the one who was helping me when I accidentally killed that kid." Bonnie gasped loudly in shock. "Oh no...I hope he didn't realize...I hid the body well...I think."
Saphira turned to the door and wondered if this person was inside the new area. "Let me guess, the smell is coming from here." She points to the door and the animatronics nod. "Great...two murders..."
"Three..." Freddy said as he stepped towards the door. "Smells like...hold up...Bobby's nephew was with him today. That is his scent." Freddy looked at Saphira worryingly. "Um...we aren't hungry. We would likely be like you if we eat any bodies tonight, and heave it up into a toilet. And we don't know where we would put them...except one place, but the smell of the bodies will draw attention."
Saphira had no answer. She had thought they knew, but she guessed she was wrong. They were not used to having this much food each night, and she wondered how their metabolisms worked if they weren't hungry everyday. She stepped closer to the door and grabbed the knob, turning it slowly. When she opened it, she caught the scent of blood immediately.
"And you did not notice anything with Bobby?" Saphira asked, looking at Bonnie who shook his head. "Huh...maybe he was more subtle than Samson...but I am surprised that his nephew is here too..." She pushed the door open further before she shines her flashlight inside. As she was about to take a step, something dropped from above, making her jump back and widened her eyes when she saw Bobby's head that had be beheaded from his body and the eyes pushed out of their sockets. "I don't think I want a party now."
She felt her stomach churn again and she bolted away from the animatronics. She had no idea why this was happening now. She ran to the nearest bathroom and almost did not make it to the toilet before she heaved. A minute later, she felt a familiar hand on her back, rubbing gently as she vomited violently into the bowl.
Springtrap sighed deeply. "I hope this is not something that will happen every night...killing to eat isn't the same as killing for sport or revenge...that is for sure."
Saphira could not help but agree. Though now she is wondering how long Mike has been waiting to do this. If there are employees in the attraction who suspect something about the animatronics and he knows, it was odd that he waited to do this until she arrived. Maybe it was a warning, but it could also be something else.
Saphira rubbed her throat as she finished heaving and flushed the toilet. "I really haven't been eating properly these last few days, and I was hoping to munch on something tonight while sharing it with you. Now I don't even feel like doing that now."
Springfield was immediately concerned. He knew that humans can lose weight from not eating a lot, and while he thought her weight was good, he didn't want her to be underweight. "I had no realized that has happened to you."
"I think it's because of all the excitement and my mind thinking about everything else but food. I do eat before I come here, but that's it." Saphira looked at him for a moment before she heads to the door to leave. "I'm going to go back to the office. I need to just sit and have some water."
"Would you like company?" He asked gently as he followed her out of the bathroom. "I know we have to figure out what to do with the bodies, we aren't going to eat them tonight. But you don't have to be involved with that."
"I would like that, thanks." She smiled at him as she walked to the main dining room. "But I don't think I can stop thinking about this. I...I think we should know who Mike is going to be targeting."
"Why?" He had a frown as he was concerned by Saphira wanting to know more. "I am not sure if we would even be able to do anything to stop Mike, Saphira. Even if we know who is next, we can't exactly go up to them and tell them. That would only expose us."
Springtrap had a point. But knowing might at least mean Saphira could do something. She didn't know if people had their own lockers in the locker room or if they pick which one they want. That was the only thing she could think of right now is by putting warnings in there. But than there was a concern of someone telling Mike about the notes too.
Saphira groaned a little as she rubbed her head in frustration. "You are right. I don't even know the other employees either. If I had their number or if I knew when they would arrive I could warn them...but I don't know what to do either."
"I do understand wanting to know though, Saphira," Springtrap said softly as they enter the main dining room together. They glanced at Mangle and the phantom animatronics, they were still letting the man's body defrost. Chica, Foxy and the other toy animatronics were not in the dining room. "I could name at least two other employees who might suspect something, but their last shift is...today since they resigned."
"I guess if they end up dead and put on the news we will know who killed them." Saphira's head was racing as she was thinking about so many things and it was starting to give her a headache. "I just hope we get one night where I don't have to see a dead person or you killing someone to eat."
"It would be nice. And we only just started talking about normal things too..." Springtrap followed her out of the dining room into the hallway towards the office. "I cannot believe we gone from talking about your school to talking about who else might die here."
"Yeah, I agree..." Saphira could hear the alerts from the tablet in the hallway and ran into the office to reboot the system. "I should remember to take this tablet with me." She sighed as she grabbed Advil out of her bag and walked to the staff room to use the water dispenser to fill a cup. Springtrap remained outside the room patiently. "Maybe now we can have a normal conversation...though that is going to be hard."
He gave her an apologetic expression, knowing that she has had to deal with finding multiple dead people in the building, and none of it was their fault. She would know if it was as some of the animatronics are not good with keeping straight faces when it came to pranks and such. "With the online school that you do...you don't go to a building with other kids, right?" She nodded. "Can you explain how it works?"
Saphira smiled as she put the Advil tablets on her tongue and swallowed with water. She walked out of the room to head into the office and sat down to try and relax. Springtrap stood in the office waiting for an answer. "Online school is all done through the internet. Basically, the computer. All of my work is done through the computer. I still use books to help with assignments, because when I have it written down, I can base copy it onto the computer and send my assignment that way. Or I use a scanner to upload assignments, depending on the subject."
He smiled as he listened to her explain the online school to him. "Do you interact with teachers at all? Or is it really just through the computer and you read whatever it is you are learning?" He paused for a moment and shrugged. "Does that even sound right?"
Saphira chuckled a little, amused that the animatronics were still innocent to a lot of the world outside the attraction. "I do have teachers, though I don't really speak to them much. I find I rarely need help from them anyway. Besides, I have gotten pretty good grades without their help and there is a lot of things that I can find through the internet to help me anyway." She stood up and grabbed out one of her textbooks. "I bring these in case I have time to work on these during the shift, so far I have only had a little bit of time to do this."
Springtrap stepped closer as she opened the book and she showed him. He widened his eyes as what he was seeing was math, and none of it made sense to him. "Uhh…how do you even understand this?" He looked at Saphira who chuckled softly. "It is all numbers in weird…uh…it is all jumbled to me."
"I can understand, this is all just algebra and I personally don't enjoy math," Saphira said as she closed the book and placed it on the desk. "But I do a decent job with it, and I have gotten B's and A's, so I am not worried about failing math."
Springtrap has never heard the word algebra before, so he definitely did not understand. "Hmmph…I am glad that we know the basics of reading and numbers…" She nodded in agreement as she relaxed in the chair happily while she looked at him. "Do you do any other art? Aside from sketching animatronics, of course."
Saphira nodded and grabbed out her phone. "I do. Though the art I do…you might be surprised, actually." She scrolled through her phone before bringing up an image and showed Springtrap the screen. He leaned down to look at it curiously. "I have gotten a few commissions though, people like this art."
Springtrap was surprised by what he was seeing. Saphira had used a digital art program for what she was showing him right now. It was an image of a girl with black hair, black eyes, black eyeshadow and nails while crying blood and holding a knife against a human skull with a blanket of shadowy mist around her. He definitely did not think she would have drawn something like this, but what he was seeing seemed to be an expression of her pain. Though he was not sure.
"When did you draw this?" Springtrap asked curiously, looking at Saphira.
"Um…two weeks ago, actually." She looked at the phone again and scrolled through the other images. "Oh, I love this one!" She smiled and showed the animatronic.
He was taken a back when he saw an image of a naked girl hunched over a river with blood drip from her lips and her eyes were blood red. And he saw this wasn't a normal girl Saphira had drawn, but this girl had sharp spines out of her back with a tail covered in scales and abnormal hands and feel with claws. Beside the girl was a man with his heart literally ripped from his chest.
He looked away from the phone, shaking his head slightly. "I am…surprised." Saphira smiled and looked at the image, she loved what she had created. "I am not sure what other images you have made, but…I guess you were able to turn your pain into art." She nodded as she scrolled through the pictures happily. "I kind of wish I had a more positive way to dealing with mine. But we're limited on what we can do here."
Saphira looked at him sadly. "I know. But now I can probably help with that. I can teach you…" He looked at her in surprise. "I can get one of my empty sketchbooks and I can teach and encourage you how to draw. Expressing your feelings through painting and drawing is something a lot of people love. My parents don't understand, but others do."
Springtrap smiled at the idea. "Hmm…I think I would like that…" He looked at his hands for a moment. "But…aren't my hands a little big to hold a pencil?"
She chuckled softly and shrugged. "I don't think…" She paused and turned when she heard the sound of something small walking in the vent. "Did you hear that?" Springtrap nodded as he stared at the vent near the desk. "Sounds like it is walking away…"
Springtrap walked over and lifted the vent cover, peering inside. "Hmm…" He could hear the sound of whatever it was walking away. "The vent's big enough for me to slip inside. I will find what…"
"No, no!" He turned and looked at her in surprise when he felt her grabbed his elbow and stared at him with worry. "That might be a bad idea, Springtrap! We don't know what that was!"
"But…if I go after it…"
"What if you get hurt?" Saphira interrupts bluntly with a frown. He stared at her in surprised as he had no expected her to be worried about him getting hurt. "I know you are strong, and you might not get hurt, but…we don't know that."
Springtrap looked into the vent and lowered the cover, turning to look at Saphira. "You are…worried that I will get hurt?"
"Why wouldn't I? You're my friend."
Springtrap smiled at her and placed his hands on her shoulders gently. "Alright, I won't go after the creepy crawlie that we heard. But if we hear it again later or another night, I cannot promise I won't go after it. For all we know, it is a little robot spying on us. Especially considering all the things that have happened tonight."
Saphira was relieved that he would not follow. She turned when she heard the alerts again to hit reboot before she sat on the chair. She grabbed out two chocolate bars from the bag and held one out to Springtrap, surprising him. "I know you said you aren't hungry, but chocolate won't take up much room."
The animatronic took the bar and looked at it before hearing the crackle of the packaging and watched Saphira opened her bar and taking a bit out of it. He managed to open his carefully and sniffed the bar curiously. Saphira watched him as he seemed to like the smell of chocolate and bit a piece off. She was still getting used to the idea he could eat, but she watched him chewed and she noticed his tongue rolling around. He nodded and his eyes light up as he fell in love with the taste of chocolate and took his time to enjoy the bar with Saphira. She was happy, though she looked at the Mike's desk thoughtfully. She considered going through the filing cabinet again. Something had to be there that might give more information.
