Chapter 2
Devilwolfking asked if I am going to make another wrestling OC story after this? If you missed it in chapter one this will be the last Riley Morgan story in the timeline that started in Two Worlds One Love. Honestly, I'm not sure. There was a such a space between the end of the Jake Reed stories and the start of the Riley stories. It really will just come down if I get an idea or character I want to work with. It was AEW All Out weekend. Neither Mandy nor Riley would be on the Pay Per View card. Still there was plenty to keep them busy during the weekend. It was late and the Pay Per View was the next day. "New York Style is better," Mandy insisted. "Why do we always have this debate? I just said I love deep dish pizza," Riley says. "And darling you have to remember I'm an Italian American girl from New York," Mandy says. "And I'm just a guy from Nebraska who likes pizza. And his phone is going off," Riley say as he moves to the nightstand to grab his phone. "Who is is it?" Mandy asks. "My sister... Hey what's up?... How?"" Riley says clearly getting upset. Mandy gets a really bad feeling. "Well, where are they?... Just hold on I'll be there as soon as I can," Riley has before ending the call. Mandy is shocked at how frantic he looks. "Riley what is wrong?" Mandy asks. "My parents were in a car wreck. Some guy ran a red light."
"My mom would succumb to her injures as we were traveling back to Omaha. My dad was in a coma, I did get the chance to say goodbye to him at least. And that is why I have been off TV for a while," Riley says. He is sitting next to Mandy and across from Renee Paquet. "I can't even imagine how hard that must of been for you. How have you been coping?" Renee asks. "I would give just about anything to see them again. But I think about the good times. I think about what they would want for me. And I've been very open that at times my dad wasn't always the most supportive of my career. But the last few years we finally worked a lot of that out. In no small part thanks to her," Riley says looking at Mandy. "Now the last few weeks we seen the Reborn videos. Is that in part due to losing your parents?" Renee asks.
"Yes and no," Riley says before Mandy takes over. "Riley and I had both talked about making changes. We wanted to put ourselves into a different headspace going into twenty, twenty-three," Mandy adds. "But I also admit I came up with that logo one night when I couldn't sleep. To kind of go in depth, one of the last conversations I had with my dad was how I had proven him wrong. I had been a star and a champion in Japan. Well, he jokingly said "You will never be world champion in America." And my mom..." He pauses needing a second.
"Somewhat the same thing. She had finally accepted that I wasn't going to retire and start some quite life. She told me at one point if the only place I had to go was to the very top," Riley says. "Is that why you targeted MJF upon your return?" Renee asks. "One of them. I've never liked Max. And it's long overdue some shut him up," Riley says.
Orlando Mandy and Riley's home
Riley was in his man cave as he wrapped a gift. He knew he should, but he pulled out his phone again and checked it. Putting it down he shook his head and then a a knock on the door drew his attention. "Come on in babe," Riley calls out. A second later Mandy enters. "Hey, I don't feel like cooking. Let's go get a pizza," Mandy says. "You don't have to keep doing that Mandy," Riley says. "Doing what? I was just thinking we get dinner and you have never met a pizza you didn't like," Mandy says. "Trying to keep me distracted. I love you and I appreciate it but I'm doing fine, okay?" Riley says. "I just want to take care of you," Mandy says. "You have been. Babe I couldn't of made through this without you," Riley assures her. They hug. "So, since I'm asking questions, still enough time to change our Christmas plans. So do you..." "No Mandy we have been over this. We have been playing to have Christmas at home for months. We invited my siblings they said no. My sister is her in-in-laws, one brother wants to be with his wife, and jug head wants to be with his friends skiing. I say you and I enjoy our first Christmas in our home ever," Riley says.
AEW Dynamite
The pre tapped interview of Riley had just aired. The show had just thrown to MJF who was in a dressing room. The current AEW world champion had a contemplative look on his face. He picks up his version of the AEW title belt. "Riley Morgan for you the world title is a goal. It's something you have worked your entire career to reach the level of the top guy. You had to go all over the world to become stronger and win over fans and promoters... What a damn loser! See Ri Bread the world title is my birthright. Everyone knew I would be world champion from the day I started," MJF starts to yell. He stands up and looks right into the camera. "Riley your father and mother didn't support your career because they knew you were going to fail. And you should be glade they are gone Riley because they won't have to watch you fail. And frankly they would be ashamed of what a..." MJF suddenly stops as the sound of door opening is heard. Max's eyes get real big just as the camera pans over to find Riley has entered the room. With one big punch Riley drops MJF.
Security runs in and drags Riley off. "He's quickly becoming my favorite wrestlers on the roster," Tony Schivone says on commentary. "MJF is disgusting," Excalibur adds. Riley is pulled away by security. MJF grabs the triple B before charging and hitting Riley with it. Max than strikes the two guards before starting to put the boots to Riley. But Riley sweeps the leg and Max falls over. Both men are now trying to grab holds. "Get someone back there," Taz yells. Finally, more guards show up and separate the two men. "This isn't how you treat the world champion!" Max yells to wrap up the segment.
AEW Rampage Later That Night
Mandy stretched as she waited backstage her match was up next for Rampage. The Bunny with Penelope Ford were finishing their entrance. Mandy heard her music cue up and headed to the ring. Mandy sat on the apron as part of her entrance only for The Bunny to kick her off wasting no time Penelope Ford picked Mandy up and tossed her into the ring. The referee calls for the bell as Bunny puts the boots to Mandy. Mandy fights back to her feet but gets dropped with an overhand chop. The Bunny grabs Mandy by the throat and chokes her. "One two three four," the referee counts before Bunny breaks and then yells at the referee. "Mandy Rose getting a much needed second to recover," Jim Ross notes on commentary. Bunny moves back toward Mandy who has recovered to kick her in the gut. Bunny is rocked letting Mandy hit a clothesline. The Bunny is able to shake off the attack sooner and goes for a superkick but Mandy avoids it. Powerslam by Mandy who looks to follow up with a springboad bulldog but Penelope shakes the ropes causing a slip.
Mandy hits the ground byt the time she gets up Bunny hits a Thez press. Count of one count of two, Mandy kicks out. The Bunny looks for a vertical suplex but Mandy blocks it and hits a suplex of her own. Mandy holds on and drags the bunny to a standing facelock. Penelope reaches in a pulls Mandy's foot to Bunny can escape. Mandy has had enough and gets out of the ring to give chase to The Super Bad Girl. It looks like Mandy is about to run into a trap as the Bunny also exits the ring and waits. Penelope rounds the corner followed by Mandy. Bunny goes for elbow by Mandy moves and instead she hits the ring post. "OUCH!" Bunny yells. Penelope goes to check on her friends which lets Mandy drop kick them into each other. Having now taken control Mandy tosses her opponent back into the ring. Knee face breaker by Mandy and she covers count of one count of two Bunny kicks out. Next Mandy sets up for the bed of roses and hits it. Another cover by Mandy count of one count of two. Bunny kicks out just barley.
Needing a second to recover Mandy is slow to get up again. Finally she goes and goes for a power slam. Bunny manages slip off the back and gets a school girl holding the tights count of one count of two count of... Mandy kicks out at the last second. Superkick by The Bunny rocks Mandy. "DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE!" The Bunny yells as she set up for her finishing move. Mandy drives back and runs the Bunny into the corner getting free. Tilta a whirl slam by Mandy to retake control. Mandy finally hits her running knee count of one count of two count of three. "The winner of the match Mandy Rose!"
After taking a few moments to celebrate her win, Mandy headed to the back. Scanning the area she found Lexy Nair who was waiting for an interview. "Here you go," Riley says walking up to her with a water bottle. "My hero," Mandy says once she takes a drink. "Nothing worse than having to talk with post match dry mouth," Riley says. "You can say that again. Are you done for tonight?" Mandy asked. "I've filmed everything I need to film. I signed all those action figures. What about you? Anything after this stuff with Lexy?" Riley asks. "Once the promo is cut I am finished for the night."
"HOLY CRAP! It's a white out!" Max Caster can be heard saying. Several people are now looking out the door and see the blizzard that is raging in Colorado. "Maybe you should get that interview done ASAP. Its only going to get worse out there," Riley says dreading the drive. "Yeah, I will and I'll get changed quick," Mandy says heading off.
"Riley you okay man?" Kenny asks passing by. "No. I hate driving in snow. I hated it in Nebraska. I hated doing it on the Indie scene and I hate it now," Riley says. "You can ride with us we can make room for you and Mandy," Kenny offers. "Thanks Kenny but Mandy I rented they car and we are supposed to fly out tonight," Riley says. "Yeah, well so am I. Don't think that is happening unless we gain superpowers," Kenny jokes. "Kenny, can I ask you something?" Riley says. "Sure pal." "Why are you wearing shorts? It's freaking winter and like ten degrees outside," Riley says even pointing at Kennhy's exposed legs. "I'm from Canada," Kenny defends.
The Drive
Riley was focused on the view out his windshield. The road was awful and visibility was even worse. "I think that's the exit coming up," Mandy says. "Well let's hope it's to iced up or snow packed. I don't know if this Honda is going to make it and it's... Hydroplaning again," Riley says fighting the wheel. Mandy thought saying maybe it would stop. But she knew it wasn't going to. Once again, the car slides and Riley has to try and keep control. The exit was on an incline. Normally it wouldn't be an issue to get up it. "I can't get any traction," Riley thinks. A head of them a old Dodge gets really sideways like a race car that was about to spin into a wall. At the last second the driver into Dodge managed to make a correction. "Come on just a bit more," Riley says to the car. Finally, they were back on level ground.
"We are going get to the airport and find the flight has been cancelled aren't we?" Riley asks feeling a big calmer now. Mandy had her phone in her hand. "Still says it's leaving on time." "Well, we should make it," Riley says. "Oh no. It just updated. Pushed back two hours," Mandy says. "At least it's not cancelled...yet," Riley says. "Oh, geez look how backed up it is?" Mandy says sees the heavy traffic ahead. "I bet there is a wreck. I hope everyone is okay," Riley says.
Hotel Suite
Tony Khan had made it back to his hotel. In so many different ways 2022 had been the toughest year he had so far running AEW. Thankfully the las few weeks things had turned back in a positive direction. The fans were reacting well to everything, the locker room was happy. Tony as always was a busy man. The Jaguars were making a playoff run, Fulham FC was nearing the end of it's season. And of course, All Elite Wrestling was returning to Los Angeles. The LA show was already stacked. Tony looked at the latest card he had written down for it in his notebook. The main event was going to be the ladder match for the Trios Titles. Hangman and Moxley were also set for the card as was Danielson vs. Takeshita. Tony picked up his pen and wrote in another match.
