After the shift had ended, Saphira returned home feeling a lot better than she had before. Primarily because she did not get sick or end up being chased this time. But she was still left with a heap of questions. With the folder she had taken, Saphira knew she would be in for a bit of time to study what is written in the folder. Speaking of study though, Saphira did have to do a bit of her schoolwork after getting home and waking up again in the afternoon. She did not want to fall behind and she sent in a few assignments to be assessed and marked. As much as she did want to learn more about the animatronics themselves and how they are alive, she had other things to do too.

Once she had done that though, Saphira grabbed out the book with the plan for living animatronics and stared at the cover for a moment. She was not sure what exactly she would find inside, and she did not know if she wanted to know either. But it would eliminate the burning questions that she had constantly regarding the animatronics…or at least some. This book itself looked really old, so there was a chance this was not up-to-date and the methods of creating live animatronics could have changed. But that also begged the question on whether there were other animatronics out there that were alive and not present in the attraction. That was a possibility.

She opened the book and she was surprised to see information regarding general animatronic functions and how computers work. Saphira read through them and saw nothing out of the ordinary until she turned a few pages and found full two pages of information about how the bodies of how humans and animals function. She stared at the pages in shock as she was not expecting that. After that, she found diagrams of animatronic ideas with organs inside their bodies.

These were mostly just sketches, but there were notes on how to implant the organs into the bodies, how to connect blood vessels and make it work inside a body where the skin was made out of a unique, yet strong metal. From what Saphira was understanding, Afton had originally thought of using simple methods in making the animatronics back when he started. There was no mention of using special technology to make them. Especially in the next few pages, it seemed like it was primarily about using medical procedures, nothing about some like what she and the animatronics had found in the basement of the attraction. At least not yet.

She continued going through the book carefully, pausing only when she found images of brains, along with information about how brains functions and so on. This was interesting. The one thing she knew that the animatronics would not have normal brains, primarily because she knew it was the only organ that could not be donated. Especially since it was the place where everything is controlled. She knew because of that, creating a live animatronic would still require a brain, or they would be brainless creatures.

That is not to say brainless creatures don't thrive, as jellyfish were an example, but with the information she was already finding out from this book showed that Afton had already intended to make some kind of brain for these animatronics. And it seemed like he had an idea of what he wanted to create, along with the use of computers to help make one, but Saphira had no doubt it has taken him years to make one.

Saphira continued to go through the pages, only to realize the time. She couldn't read the entire book at this time or she would be late. She already needed to rush and get herself ready for the shift. It did not take her too long, though she had made her ponytail as a single braid instead of a regular ponytail. Once she was ready, gathered the chocolate and biscuits that were not eaten the previous shift and grabbed her keys to run out to her car.

She wasn't sure if they would eat any of it, given the animatronics still had to deal with the bodies of the three people. Saphira did worry that it would be found out that she and the animatronics knew about the basement, but she did assume with Mike not being there when she arrives soon was not because of a family dinner. That was something she didn't really buy, even though it could be possible that it was the case, it just seems like he might be doing something else and it likely would be something to do with the nightmare animatronics.

When she arrived, the attraction was packed. It was a Friday night, and Saphira was not surprised by how many cars were in the lot. It made it a bit hard to find somewhere to park her car, but she was lucky to find one free near the back door. It was the only place she could park, so that is what she did. She was lucky she had five minutes left before her shift started, she had worried she would be late. And she did not know how that would go down if she was late.

Once she was in the office, she clocked on and relaxed on the chair. She was tempted to read through the book while she sat in the office and watched the cameras, however she did not want anyone to see what she was reading. She did look around to see if there was anything that Mike had left, and she saw something on his desk. I hope you have good night tonight, Saphira. The fifth shift tends to be the night things get a bit hectic. The employees should leave by twelve, as normal, though I hope the rest of your night goes smoothly.

That was an interesting note to read. It implies that Mike knew exactly how the nights are supposed to go. And apparently, the fifth night is when things really get hectic. If that meant that the animatronics are supposed to get a certain way on the fifth night, she doubted it would happen. Though it made her wonder if he had some kind of plan for her, or he had hopes something would happen to her. That was something she was unsure about.

She decided to pull out one of the sketchbooks to draw instead. She really liked that she did not have a lot of tasks to do on this job. If it were a real job and the animatronics were actual robots, things might be a little different. But she honestly preferred it this way. After all, she was rebuilding friendships with the animatronics. And the attraction seemed to more the place she wanted to be.

Saphira had noticed over the last few days her parents stopped asking how her job was. She would try and spend time in the morning when she finished work, but they told her they were in a hurry for their jobs or getting Roxy ready for school and such. Saphira knew it wasn't true, but even when she would leave for work, it was like they disappeared and acted like she was not there. She really hated it, as it made her feel like she was stranger in their house.

The hours pass and Saphira watched as many adults were forced to leave Chica's Chapel at around ten-thirty as they had overstayed the opening hours and needed to leave. The families left as normal, though the staff had a lot to deal with before they would start to leave. Saphira was glad she did not have to deal with them. She knew she was a security guard, but her job was to keep an eye on the other staff until twelve when they left and watch over the place. So she couldn't really do anything to help the others.

She did see how exhausted the staff were when they left though, and she knew it was a long day for them. It will be even longer for them over the weekend, and she knew it. She wondered how busy this place got at Christmas. She knew it would get extremely busy at Halloween, especially on the night of Halloween. She did hope she could dress up a bit for Halloween. She has not dressed up for Halloween in years, but she would make an exception for this year.

Once the last of the other employees were finally gone, Saphira pulled out the book again to keep going through it, opening to pages about the brain of the animatronics. She was interested on Afton's idea on how he would have created the brains for the animatronics. She did find computer codes and motherboard images before seeing a sketch on how the brain would look and act like a normal human brain. Perhaps smarter. Saphira knew whatever was done, it allowed the animatronics to smell, taste, feel pain and hunger, so the brains they have might be artificial, but almost exactly like any human brain.

It was still interesting to read through these notes. She turned the page and widened her eyes when she saw various schematics for the different tubes and other items that would be used to create the living animatronics. She saw one with the sarcophagus she and the animatronics had found. She looked over these curiously, and she saw there was another drawing of some kind of table for operating on the animatronic bodies to develop them.

This all feels really science fiction to me.

And yet, the animatronics were here. She finally reached the pages where it showed different ways on how to make these animatronics. It was all jumbled and messy, and Saphira had a hard time following. The first animatronic images were of a bear though, so she guessed Freddy was always on the cards of being made.

I still wonder how long this man had been designing these…Mike took over the restaurant thirteen years ago.

"What do you have there, Saphira?" She looked up and smiled when she saw Springtrap walking in with Bonnie behind him. He looked at the pages and frowned when he saw the schematics. "Wait…you go this from the basement, didn't you?"

Saphira nodded at Springtrap. "I did. I was able to read through this. This looks like a very early file filled with ideas from someone who was designing and making living animatronics. I am not sure how long ago this was written, but the computer designs I am seeing are pretty ancient, so I think it is at least thirty years old."

Springtrap and Bonnie look at the book curiously. Saphira turned to the next page, showing another step-by-step guide on how to make live animatronics. "While I must say, this is a good piece of information that you have found, Saphira. However, I am worried that you might end up in trouble." She glanced at Springtrap as he spoke to her. "No one went into the basement, so we will take care of the bodies tonight. But Mike might discover what you have, and I would hate to think what would happen."

"I am touched you are concerned, Springtrap, but I will be fine. If no one has been it that basement, but us, I think it should be fine." Saphira looked at the page again before closing it and putting it on the desk. "But I think we should try and do something else tonight. Although, Mike left a peculiar note. Does Friday really get hectic here during the shift?"

Springtrap smiled awkwardly and rubbed the back of his head. "Probably because...if a night guard survives this long...uh...that's probably because I used to...I don't know if I want admit what I did."

Saphira saw how uncertain he was. He rubbed his arm and looked away from her. "I see..." Saphira glanced at Bonnie and he had a look of shame. "I won't ask for the details. But does this mean there could be more trespassers as well?"

"Yes and no, each week is different. Saturday would be the day we get the most trespassers." Bonnie glanced at Springtrap who was frowning at him. "I think it is better that she is aware of what will likely happen tomorrow than she be surprised. You saw what those teenagers tried to do to her."

Springtrap nodded as he clenched his hands slightly, seemingly angry about the incident. "Yes…I do remember. I try to not think about that night…" He looked at Saphira with a softer expression and smiled at her. "Shall we do another round of the attraction? We might actually be able to go into the Bedroom of Nightmares."

Saphira smiled and stood from her chair, taking the tablet and flashlight with her. "I guess we should do that, it is my job after all." The two animatronics step aside to let her past and she chuckled at them. "You don't need to be this polite, you can go ahead of me, I am not going to be upset."

Bonnie smiled at her. "Maybe not, but there is no harm in letting you go through first. We like being polite to someone else for a change." Saphira chuckled as she walked out of the office to do her usual round of the attraction. They followed her down the hallway towards the loading dock. "You will be happy to know that the bodies will be completely dealt with tonight. We made sure to clean any evidence in the basement."

"I am curious how you do that," Saphira said softly. "I have only ever seen you do the act of killing…and I have not seen you clean it up afterwards."

"The simple answer is that the tiles seem to be very easy to clean here," Springtrap explained and gestured towards the different storage rooms with cleaning products. "We have gotten to know how to use the mops here, along with the produces. Though we usually will just use a paper towel from the kitchen and clean the area with bleach afterwards. That seems to work. You never smell the blood after."

"I never thought you would know how to do that. That's kind of impressive." Saphira was really impressed as she listened. She wondered if they were capable of learning quickly, because it seemed like that. "I suppose you are right though. The tiles in this place do look easy to clean. Makes it so much easier on the employees. I do wonder what will be in the Bedroom of Nightmares for the floor. If it's carpet, hopefully it's the type that is really easy to clean." She looked at the two animatronics. "And I do not recall using bleach on carpet, it will show on the carpet."

"Ah! That's why I overheard one of the employees shriek that at one of the other cleaners," Springtrap said thoughtfully, rubbing his chin as he though about. "I guess it makes sense. We hate the smell of it, but it seems to kill the smell of blood well. We are not sure what else works well yet, but we know vinegar seems to."

Saphira chuckled softly. Hearing the animatronics casually talk about these products was hilarious to her and she wondered what else they knew. As they enter the loading dock, Saphira glanced at the door and gasped to see it wide open. She ran over to it to pull it shut, only to find it was stuck.

"Shit!" Saphira cursed as she around to push on the door. It groaned as it shifted slightly, but she resorted to moving everything away at the base of the door. "I hope no one snuck in this way..." She heard the sound of something clashing loudly in the kitchen. The two animatronics look in the direction but they do not move. "I guess we have our answer..." She grabbed the door after clearing the bottom of it and pulled on it again. And it worked too well, as she pulled to hard and closed it too quickly that she almost lost her balance. "WOAH!"

Saphira stumbled back from the door and fell into Springtrap's hands. "Are you okay?" He looked at her in concern as she huffed in relief. "You were a little hard on that door."

Saphira chuckled as she stood up, brushing herself off and walked over to the door to lock it. "I'm fine, I just wasn't expecting it to close like that. I expected it to still be stuck. Still..." She turned around and looked towards the door that led towards the kitchen. "We should find out what that noise was."

"I don't smell anyone new here…" Bonnie sniffed the air curiously and walked over to the door. He paused as he heard voices. "Oh, it's just Chica, Toy Chica and Freddy in the kitchen." Saphira looked at him in surprise as the animatronic opened the door. "I think there's a lot of leftover pizza from tonight. Not unusual, it is our treat for the week."

"Ah, right." Saphira's stomach growled a little bit. She had already eaten something earlier, but since she had not been eating too well over the last few days, the idea of pizza sounded good. "I might have some slices. I need to catch up after the last few days."

Springtrap gave Saphira a sympathetic expression as they walk towards the kitchen. "Is it because of us, Saphira?" She quickly shook her head as she did not want him to feel guilty. It wasn't entirely their fault as her being sick from seeing the bodies definitely was not on them. "I hope not. I would feel awful if you are hungry because of us. I know what it is like to starve…even though I had done it to myself, it was horrible."

She looked at him and placed a hand on his shoulder to let him know she was sympathetic to him. "I am glad that you didn't allow yourself to die from starvation, Springtrap. I…I am not sure how I would feel knowing that you had died because of me…even if it was not all my fault." He did not react to her or respond, though she saw the sadness and regret in his face. Bonnie opened the door into the kitchen, and she stepped inside. She widened her eyes when she saw Chica, Toy Chica and Freddy. "What the…why is there stuff all over the floor?!"

Before Saphira, Bonnie and Springtrap were the three animatronics that Bonnie had heard. But there was also pots, pans and other items on the floor. Including a China plate that was shattered on the ground. Freddy looked at Saphira with a guilty expression. "Sorry, I tried to stop them from getting into so much in the kitchen. These girls just would not listen."

Chica rubbed her hands together. "Freddy's right, Saphira...Toy Chica and I were gathering the pizza and we just...nudged a few things from the counters, and we did not mean to do it. It just happened."

Saphira sighed and rubbed her forehead. "I don't care whose fault it was, I only care that you broke a plate. And I see it is made out of China, so it wasn't cheap." Saphira grumbled as she walked over to grab a broom that was hanging up. "We have to clean the kitchen up before we do anything else."

"You mean, they have to clean the kitchen." Saphira looked at the kitchen door and smiled when Fredbear walked in, less than pleased by what he was seeing. "Why in the world are your three causing a mess? You have never done this before. We have gathered leftover pizza and other food from the kitchens without making a mess."

"It was an accident!" Toy Chica exclaimed, bending down to pick up the bots and pans from the floor to put them back. "It wasn't like we were trying to scare Saphira, because I bet that is something going through your mind."

"I was not thinking that." Fredbear looked at the pizza. There was at least a dozen whole pizzas that were leftover, along with some pasta and salad dishes. "At least we have something different for tonight. Saphira will get the first picks though, since I am sure she would enjoy it."

Saphira looked at Fredbear in surprise and looked at the food that was leftover. She did notice that none of these had been thrown out, and it still looked fresh, which was good. "Well…I would like a few slices, but I don't want you all to miss out. You said it is a treat, so I don't want to take that away from you."

"Yes, it is what we consider a treat when it comes to the weekend, but you are our friend," Fredbear said softly with a smile as Chica took the broom from Saphira's hand to sweep up the broken shards of the plate. "Plus, I don't think I have seen you eat much. You are here from nine to six every day, which is about nine hours in total, and I don't think you've eaten anything. Unless you have something before twelve, I don't know. But I know humans eat multiple times during the day."

Saphira had not realized that Fredbear had noticed. "Uh, well, I guess I haven't felt hungry because there is just too much going on. My mind has been going a million miles per hour and I just feel like I can't keep up, really. So I guess I don't notice. But I do have something when I get home."

"That's what you meant by needing to catch up after the last few days," Springtrap said in a relieved tone. "Good…I was worried we would be indirectly at fault given…what I put you through…"

"What we all put you through," Fredbear corrected the animatronic with a kind expression. "I am not sure what you were talking to Springtrap and Bonnie about before, but yes, I would feel bad if we were somehow part of the reason why you weren't eating." He glnaced at Springtrap who looked away. "Reminds me of the month-long fast you had, Springtrap. If he wasn't covered in those casings, he might have looked skinny."

Saphira raised an eyebrow. "I would have a hard time believing you can get fat. You're active almost all the time, so I would certainly think you would not get fat. Unless…" She thought back to the folder she had been going through before about how Afton made the animatronics. "Considering you don't have bodies like humans, it might be impossible for you to get fat."

"Probably a good thing," Chica said with a grin as she put the plate pieces into the bin. "I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to move our joints if we did. Thankfully, we don't need to worry about that."

Saphira chuckled softly and walked over to the kitchen side door, finding it was locked. "I best check the other doors before we do anything else." She walked towards the door to lead by the cold rooms and freezers. "We should check the…um…storages here in case someone else was stuffed into these."

"I don't think I saw anything suspicious today," Toy Chica said as Saphira opened the door. She could see the doors to the cold rooms and freezers and walked over quickly as Springtrap followed Saphira closely. "But we did not suspect three people would have killed by someone else. So…it could happen again."

Saphira opened the first door and there was nothing. Springtrap proceeded to open the doors and there was nothing inside, she was relieved by this. She did not want to have to deal with another incident like the night before. Still, she wondered why it was only happening when she was the new night guard. She did wonder if other employees were killed by Mike. And not necessarily at the attraction. It was possible. She did remember seeing some news about employees from the establishment being found dead at their homes from peculiar injuries, though the police could never find evidence. Whoever would kill them was able to cover their tracks. Though Mike had decided to do that at his attraction. And she was curious to know why that was.
