A half hour passes by ever since the incident with facing Aaron and his friends, and Saphira was feeling a little better. Springtrap remained with her the entire time. He didn't even want to go eat any of the remains of the people from tonight, his first and main concern was Saphira. He did watch as she grabbed out one of her sketchbooks and began to draw something. It was a sketchbook filled with her original images, and she was currently drawing a skull being held in the hands of a creature. He watched in intrigue with how she sketched the image as she added blood to the skull, along with an intriguing idea of a butterfly sitting on top of the skull. He could see this was maybe her way of seeing her pain, though he was not sure.
"Hmm…you did say you wanted to teach me how to draw," Springtrap said suddenly, making Saphira jump a little from not expecting him to speak. "Sorry…you were too deep in focus on your drawing, I didn't mean to scare you."
She took a deep breath and looked up at Springtrap. "It's okay, Springtrap…you're right. I was a little too focus on my drawing." She smiled at him and grabbed out the empty sketchbook. "I think now is a good time. You seem to need it too, Springtrap. And by the way, to me, there is no right or wrong in art."
"That gives me a little confidence. My hands are a little bigger than yours, so holding a pencil might not be the best thing I can do." He watched Saphira opened the sketch book and held a pencil out to him. "So…is there a way I should hold this?" He grabbed the pencil carefully like he was holding something fragile.
"Kind of like this…" Saphira showed him as she held her pencil between her thumb and index finger with the pencil resting on her finger. "I don't know if you will feel any kind of strain in your muscles, but this is the way we hold it." He nodded and she smiled at him. "Alright, I can teach you a little bit about drawing perspectives in art, because that can be something people learn over time, but for now it is best to just…draw what you feel. How you picture it."
Springtrap nodded, though he was unsure. She placed her hands on his hand, making him stiffen as she guides his hand to the page and the tip of the pencil touched the paper. With that encouragement, Springtrap began to draw. Watching as the lead on the page seemed to form on the page like magic and he focused on what he wanted to draw. It took a moment, and he relaxed into it.
Saphira watched curiously, surprised that he was actually pretty good. She watched as he drew a room filled with plush toys, and all of these were the plush toys of the animatronics. And in the middle was the image of a girl with black hair, holding the only Springtrap plush and a plastic pendent around her neck. The girl had tears and she was holding the hands of an animatronic standing beside her. Saphira knew right away this was an image of Springtrap and her.
"Wow…you have hidden talent." Springtrap glanced at Saphira for her comment as she stared at the sketch. "It's beautiful, Springtrap…" She looked up at him with a smile. "I guess…feeling like you're protecting me, is why you drew this. Though I am not a little girl anymore…"
"No…you are not." Springtrap smiled and looked back at the image to keep sketching out the image. "But this is how I feel. Even though you are grown, you've matured…I still see you as the innocent girl from all those years ago…" She giggled a little as she listened to him. "I know I reacted out of hurt when you came back…but now, I just want to try and protect you…I am powerless when it comes to anything outside these walls…but at least in here, I can and I will protect you."
"And I know you do protect me." He side-eyes her curiously. "You've already protected me, Springie…" He widened his eyes as that was the little nickname she had given him when she was a kid. "A few times already. Even on the first night, when those stupid teens broke in and…they also tried to take away the necklace." She looked at the necklace with a thoughtful expression. "Hmm…I think I will look for a new necklace."
"Why?"
"Because this thing represents the old friendship we had, Springtrap. It does not represent it now…and who knows how the future is going to shape up." Saphira knew it was a surprised to Springtrap, but she was thinking about it. "Maybe I could find a pendent that looks like this, but it is made of real metal. I think that would show our friendship is solid, and not plastic."
Springtrap chuckled softly. "I like how you are thinking…but you know that necklace is only a representation. It isn't proof that we are friends, it's just an attachment we have to it. And while I threw mine out, I still hate the idea of you getting rid of yours. I know it is plastic, but it's worth a million dollars to me." He glanced down at the sketch he had made and smiled. "Just like how you are worth infinity to me."
"Infinity?" Saphira chuckled softly at him. "I did not think you would know what that means."
"Well…I do. I learned about it from you." She frowned in surprise and tried to remember when she said that. "It was the last day you and I saw each other, Saphira." Saphira thought about it and realized she had forgotten that moment. "I see you might have forgotten…"
"I'm sorry…I…I did not mean to forget." She looked away from him with a frown. "To be honest…I have forgotten…some things about this place…but I know it is partially due to the impact of the accident. Can you…refresh my memory?" She glanced at him slightly. "Or…"
"I am not mad…" He placed a hand on her shoulder, squeezing gently. She grimaced and Springtrap realized he squeezed her injured shoulder. "I guess we're both making little mistakes." She smiled at him and looked away. "Do you remember coming to me to tell me that you got a high grade in school?"
Saphira thought about it for a moment and smiled. "Yeah…I got an A plus on my Math, and I was telling you a bit about numbers…did I tell you about infinity at that time?" He nodded. "Oh…I remember you looked confused, and I thought it was because your system did not understand."
"I did not. That would be correct. However, you told me infinity was an endless thing, just like space…" Springtrap took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Sometimes I would look out the windows, Saphira. Seeing the stars in the sky is beautiful. And you told me that by looking at it, I could see infinity. Because it does not end or begin. When you explained that to me, that is how I felt about our friendship." He opened his eyes back up and looked at her. "And then…you were gone…that dream of infinity vanished." Tears fill her eyes and she glanced away from him. "At least now we can…well…have it back. I hope."
She sniffled a little and stood up from her chair to hug Springtrap. "I never knew that you had felt that way…and I actually did not know you would look at the stars. I used to do the same…I would stare at the stars, and I would see the occasional meteor cross the sky. After the accident…I kept wishing for a new friend…someone who I could rely on. I guess that wish brought me back here."
Springtrap rubbed her back gently and looked back down at the book. "I guess it seems that way…maybe I should continue practicing my drawing." She nodded and lets go of him as he turns the page to sketch something else. "And I am actually finding it fun." She was really happy to hear that and grabbed her own sketchbook to draw too. Though she paused and decided to grab the sketchbook she had filled with Springtrap. "And the fact there isn't really any rules to art helps too. I will ask about distance, but that can be for another time."
Saphira did not respond as she began to sketch again. She found herself liking the fact she could sketch Springtrap leaned over slightly as he sketched out whatever drawing he was doing. It was really nice, and she hoped they both could bond over it. She knew that she used to bond with Springtrap over many different things. But this felt special, and she hoped to move onto paint at some point.
She and Springtrap would sketch for another hour, and she had sketched a few more Springtrap pictures in that time as well. She was wondering if she was starting to obsess over him. She thought that would be weird…but she really did not know if she was slowly obsessing over him. After all, she found herself more and more intrigued by him, and enjoying his company a whole lot. It's only been a few days since they really started getting along again, and it felt like they fell into this friendship so naturally.
And he sees my friendship to him worth infinity. That's a lot, and deep…that's kind of how I feel too.
Springtrap sketched two more images. The first was an image of himself with another child version of herself at her birthday party. He had drawn it so that the adults and other kids looked like shadows, while the two of them were the main focus where they were both happy and having a lot of fun. It was rather beautiful.
The next one though, was an image of him in the bathroom and glaring at a darker image of himself. He had sketched blood around in the bathroom, with tears falling from his face. Saphira didn't know if the animatronics could cry, but it was possible given everything else. Still, it showed the pain he had been through. She saw it and felt her heart ache because of it. It certainly reminded her of the images she had drawn to share her pain in that way.
Saphira put the sketchbook down as her arm was aching a little. Springtrap looked up and saw her rubbing her wrist. "Are you okay?" She nodded and smiled at him. "Do you think you would want that hot chocolate now?"
She chuckled softly and shook her head. "I don't think I will eat for the rest of the shift, Springtrap. Thanks for offering…but I really still don't feel good." He looked at her sympathetically and she looked up as Bonnie returned to the office. "Ah, Bonnie!" She widened her eyes when she saw he brought the crowbar back. "I wondered what you guys did with that."
"We cleaned it." Bonnie walked over to Mike's desk to place it back where it had been. "We don't need Mike to suspect anything. Luckily this thing is pretty touch." He noticed Springtrap holding a pencil in his hand and saw the sketches in the book. "I see, you seem to be an artist, Springtrap."
"Well, I have the best teacher." Springtrap gestured to Saphira with a big smile. "And I am enjoying myself. Saphira's right. Drawing is really good." She chuckled softly and he looked at Bonnie. "Has everyone had their fill."
Bonnie nodded. "Except for you."
"I'll have it later. Someone here needs me more than my stomach needs food." Saphira raised an eyebrow at Springtrap and he smirked at her. "Would you prefer it if my breath smells like human blood and flesh?"
"You don't need to make yourself go hungry for me." He did not seem bothered at all, so Saphira let it go. "But I know you seem to be able to not need to eat all the time, from what I am understanding." She looked at Bonnie curiously. "Um, is Toy Bonnie still eating?" He nodded affirmatively. "Well…I was going to take him up on the offer he had."
"And what would that be?" Springtrap asked curiously.
"Trying on the different outfits in the clothing store." He widened his eyes in surprise when she told him what she wanted to do. "Would you like to come and watch? I might not actually buy any of it, but I probably need a wardrobe change. I mostly have black at home."
"Black suits you," He commented with a smile. "You don't need to change color."
"Yeah…but so does green…" Saphira ran her fingers through her hair and pulled it out. Springtrap widened his eyes as she shakes her head as she ran her fingers through the strands to try and get out any knots. Due to the fact she had braided it, her hair looked wavy at the moment. "Does my hair look better up or down?"
Springtrap stared at her for a moment before he answered. "I think it looks better down…your hair is a lot longer than it was when you were a kid. How long is it?" Saphira giggled and stood up, turning to show her hair reaching just below the middle of her back. "Wow…I remember when it was just around at the shoulders."
"Yeah, I used to like the cute cut at the time. But I decided to grow it out and I love it!" Saphira grabbed the tablet and walked around Springtrap to the door of the office. "What do you say? Do you want to come along and watch me try on different outfits?"
He nodded, taking the sketchbook and holding it against his side. She smiled, amused that he would continue to sketch. That was something she would do. "I think I would enjoy it. I am curious about how you will shine wearing different clothes."
"I hope you don't mind if I tag along," Bonnie said as he followed Springtrap out of the office.
"Not at all. I'd love it if you joined." Saphira smiled at him as she walked down the hallway happily. "I do not know what I will try on, but I am sure it will be fun. I haven't gone and tried on outfits in years, so this will be like when I used to dress up as a kid."
"You might even figure out a different style that you never thought you would like. Though, unfortunately you are stuck with the security guard uniform. So you won't be able to show us, unless you think it's okay since there's no actual recordings with the cameras." Saphira listened to Bonnie and just giggled. She already planned on wearing something else during her shift, so she would definitely try. "And from that little giggle, I think you will wear something else."
"I might as well, or I'll just get bored wearing the same thing every day," Saphira said as she walked into the main dining room. She looked ahead and saw Fredbear, he looked like he was walking in her direction and she smiled at him. "Hey, Fredbear."
"Hi, how are you doing?" He asked with a smile. "You had a rather rough night again, and I hope you are okay."
"I will be. I'm actually just going to go and try on some clothes at the clothing store?"
"You are?" Fredbear frowned in confusion. "And why would you want to do that? The registers aren't exactly on at this time and you might not be able to buy anything."
Saphira just giggled at him. "It's just for a bit of fun, Springtrap. Even if I can't afford it, I could probably find an outfit or dress that is similar somewhat else, and I'll likely buy it. There are shops open later than six, so I can always make time for a little shopping."
Fredbear listened, though he still did not seem convinced. "Hmm...well...I still don't fully understand. Though I guess I can come and watch. I think it will be fun. Plus, you need something to take your mind off tonight."
"She and I have already done some sketching," Springtrap said with s smile, making Fredbear give him a weird look. "She showed me how to hold the pencil and told me art had no rules, so I just drew what I had my mind and it turned out wonderfully. Saphira just needed to do something else, and she's taking up Toy Bonnie's offer."
"And about time too!" Toy Bonnie's enthusiastic voice filled the room as he opened the door at the end. "Come on, come on!" Saphira giggled and ran over to him. "There's only a few hours before six, we had better get to it if we want to have our fun."
Saphira glanced at the time and smirked at Toy Bonnie. "It's only two-thirty. We have plenty of time."
He chuckled softly. "I suppose, but you know when you have fun, time really does fly." She nodded in agreement as she walked through the open door and walked towards the Toy Plaza. "You might only end up trying a few outfits before the time runs out."
"Well, I still have my next shift," Saphira said as she entered the Toy Plaza with the animatronics behind her. "And it is not like the clothes will go anywhere, and there will always be a new style that comes in anyway. It'll be fine, Toy Bonnie."
"I know…but I just wanted to say it anyway." He chuckled softly as he followed and glanced at Springtrap. "And are you bringing that so you can sketch Saphira wearing the different outfits?" He glanced at the toy animatronic in surprise. "I never knew you would be into art, though I guess Saphira must have shown you a thing or two for you to start sketching."
He smiled at him. "Actually…I might draw something else. But Saphira mostly showed me how to hold the pencil and how to draw on the page. She didn't teach me anything else. Though…" He glanced at Saphira curiously. "If I have never seen something before, how would I draw it? Like certain flowers."
Saphira looked at him and thought about it. "Well…you could use pictures for reference…I'll tell you what, how about I get some books for you? I can get books with images of different trees, flowers and other plants, along with images of forests, beaches and so on. You only know your surroundings here, and I understand. Though I doubt you can access the internet, so books would be the next best thing."
"And I can keep them for you." Springtrap and Saphira look over to see Golden Bonnie walking towards them. "I think it is wonderful that you have found something to escape reality, Springtrap. Just like I dive into my books, you've found art to be very peaceful and something to relieve anything that might be on your mind." She walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I kind of wish I can take up drawing myself."
Saphira smiled at Golden Bonnie. "I can get you some art supplies too, Golden Bonnie. That won't be difficult at all. I have plenty to share."
"You would do that?" Golden Bonnie asked with a smile. Saphira nodded and Golden Bonnie let out a squeal of excitement, surprising the other animatronics. "Thank you! I love reading, but I have always, always wanted to paint and draw."
Bonnie chuckled softly. "I guess your talent for drawing is spreading into the rest of us," He joked, making Saphira giggle as they approach the store and walk in. "You go and check out the different clothes, we can turn on the lights."
Saphira nodded and looked at the tablet when it went off to hit the reboot button before she ran over to the clothing racks. It was hard to see, but she squints when the lights turn on and she took a moment to let her eyes adjust to the light. She hummed softly as she checked the different clothes, though she was drawn to the dresses mostly. She smiled as she found a few dark dresses and took them off the shelf, keeping the dresses off the ground as she took them to change room. She did see a couple, dark green dresses and she decided she would try them on as well.
Toy Chica, Chica, Phantom Mangle, Mangle and Foxy all soon join the others while Saphira went to try on the first dress. She didn't know why, but she felt a little nervous about putting on something she wasn't used to. It's been years since she's worn a dress, and has grown accustomed to wearing jeans and shirts. Still, she knew there was no reason to be nervous, so she simply just had to try the first one on.
The first dress she tried on is a midi, black dress, with elbow-length sleeves and an outer lace around the dress with floral embroidery. There were buttons down the middle of the dress and the sleeves themselves were transparent. It was elegant and Saphira liked it. She wished she had a brush with her to brush her hair into a side part style, because that would really suit this dress. But she was only trying it on.
She walked out of the change room and almost stopped when she saw the other animatronics waiting for her. "Argh, look at what the sirens 'ave brought from the sea!" Foxy exclaimed excitedly as she approached the pedestal and stood in front of the full-length mirrors. "Yer a fine maiden, Saphira. That dress looks stunnin' on ya!"
"It sure does," Mangle agreed with a smile. "Not many people can wear black, but you wear it well."
"Thank you." Saphira chuckled a little as she move around, looking at the different angles of the dress as she looked in the mirror. "I actually really like it. I haven't worn a dress until now for many years, so this feels nice."
Toy Bonnie chuckled softly. "I told you that you are beautiful." He walked over to the pedestal and stood behind her, looking at her in the mirror with a smile. "You only needed to see past the negativity that has brought you down. You are beautiful. And just remember, you don't need to wear anything different to believe that."
Saphira blushed from the compliment, running her hand through her hand and playing with one of her strands. "Thank you, Toy Bonnie. I…I am happy to feel beautiful after a long time." She giggled softly and twirled around on the spot. "I'm going to try on the next dress!"
She ran away, not noticing that Springtrap had not given a compliment. But he had stared in awe from seeing what she was wearing. And he returned to sketching what he was working on while he waited. Saphira hummed happily as she changed out of the midi dress and into a mini dress covered in sequins. It had elbow-length sleeves too and had a rope belt around the waist to hold the shape. Saphira liked this one a lot too as it sparkled in the light. She also had decided to kick her shoes off, mostly because she did not want to risk accidently stepping on one of the dresses and ripping it, but also it was much easier to get in and out of the dresses too.
Once she had it on, she walked back out and over to the pedestal. This time, she saw the rest of the animatronics had arrived at this time. "I didn't realize I had a full audience," Saphira joked with a big smile.
"After what happened tonight, there was absolutely no way we were going to not be here for you," Freddy said confidently with a big smile. "I actually was thinking, since we have the place to ourselves for the rest of the night, maybe we should do a little bit of partying."
"One thing at a time," Fredbear said with a smirk. "I know Saphira would want to enjoy that, but let her have her fun dressing up and showing off how great she looks in every outfit."
"That kind of dress makes me think it's meant for partying," Freddy commented as Saphira stood on the pedestal, moving her body to look at the mirrors. "She looks like a disco ball! A beautiful one at that!" Saphira chuckled softly as she listened to his compliment. "I am still bummed they took out the disco ball because someone complained about it being a nuisance during parties. And I still don't know why."
Saphira turned and looked at Freddy in surprise. "Really? Someone complained about a disco ball?" He nodded and she rolled her eyes. "Wow…somehow I am not surprised. Too bad I was not there, I would have put that person back in their place."
"Yeah…but it was taken away." Freddy shrugged a little and smiled at her. "We still have good parties though. The disco ball is not what makes them complete. At least we can sing whatever we want at night."
"That is true." Saphira looked over at Springtrap and saw he was still sketching. "What do you think about what I am wearing right now, Springie?" He looked up and stared at her. "Is this good? Or should I try on something else?"
Springtrap stared at her for a moment before responding. "You would look amazing in anything. You were right, black suits you." She blushed as she heard him compliment. "I feel like I am kind of looking at a star right now." Her blush deepened and she glanced down, feeling shy and flustered suddenly. "Uh, I am saying too much."
Bonnie chuckled softly as he walked closer and looked at the sketchbook. "Mmhm, definitely…" Springtrap frowned at Bonnie and closed the book shut. "I guess I can't say I am surprised you would say that. She was always the radiant sunshine in our lives when she came in everyday. It's not surprising you would be like a star to him."
"Yeah…I guess…" Saphira's heart was racing as she felt flustered and the feeling of butterflies in her stomach was hard to ignore. She had not thought she would look like a star to Springtrap, and it made her feel extra beautiful. "I might go try on another dress. This is a lot of fun."
She glanced at Springtrap with a smile and ran into the change room to let herself have a breather. She took deep breaths and chuckled to herself. She figured she was just being silly. Or…was she feeling something else? Saphira did not know if he even realized what he said affected her. She didn't think the animatronics even noticed her blushing as they did not comment on it. But whatever Springtrap was drawing, he did not want the others to really see.
She took a few minutes to compose herself before she put on a jade, green dress. This one was different from the others. It had shoestring straps that rise from the cleavage part of the dress, and can be crossed over or left like normal straps on her shoulders. It had a cut out between the cleavage part of the dress with a thin line between the breasts. It wasn't dark green like her eyes, but it was nice and she found herself liking the dress a lot.
She walked back out with a smile, and stopped when she saw Springtrap standing outside the door. "Uh, why are you standing close to the door?" She asked with a frown.
He stared at her for a moment, his eyes casting downward glances before looking away. "Bonnie heard movement." Saphira was about to ask when she heard screams from nearby. She covered her ears and he placed his hands over her hands. "Just some more trespassers."
She nodded and waited for the screams to pass before he removed his hands. "Thanks…I…I guess I didn't hear anything because I was getting changed…" He nodded in agreement as he stood listening for the others. "What do you think of this dress?"
He looked back at her and smiled at her. "It's like you are wearing a gemstone, Saphira…your eyes are sparkling all the time like one. I have never seen a real gemstone, but I would like to believe they sparkle like your eyes."
Saphira blushed again and hugged him. "Thank you…" He wrapped his arms around her and she rests her cheek on his chest. "I like hearing that I am beautiful…sometimes I still hear the same voices in my head, telling me I am not."
"And you never listen to them." Springtrap rubbed her back gently and looked down at her. "For they are just voices that will never tell you the truth. You are beautiful, and I cannot see that beauty ever changing." She looked up at him and smiled. "Just like…uh…" He paused and glanced away from her.
"Just like what?" Saphira asked curiously.
He grimaced a little and moved away from her suddenly. "Don't mind what I just said. I…I had no context in what I was going to say. Ignore it." He smiled at her and Saphira stared at him curiously. "Uh…I think we will have to cut the dressing up short…sorry."
Saphira watched as he walked away and she wondered if what he said was the truth. She stared after him as he left before she turned away and slammed the door shut behind her. She got changed back into her uniform and put the clothes back where they were. She had a feeling Springtrap was going to say something else, but he didn't want to say it. And she was mad that more people interrupted her fun with the animatronics. Bonnie and Golden Bonnie were the only ones waiting for her when she walked out of the shop and they went with her back to the office.
They remained with her, and Saphira was surprised Springtrap did not come back. She wondered if she unintentionally made him think of something and she was worried for him. But Bonnie just said Springtrap was getting his fill now and she figured it was okay. She showed Golden Bonnie how to draw in the meantime, though she did not have a spare sketchbook for her at the moment. She was thrilled and she asked so many questions on drawing, which Saphira answered, even though she felt like there was no rules in art. It was nice she could bond with the animatronics with this good hobby.
