Saphira reached the door to the bathroom and gently pushed it open. She could hear Springtrap inside, he was talking to himself. She hoped it wasn't negative words, but she couldn't be too sure about that. She just did not want him to feel like he has made her hate him. She wanted him to know that. She stepped inside the bathroom and close the door gently behind her. She expected to see Springtrap hunched over the vanity of the bathroom like she had seen him last time. However, as she approached, she was surprised to see he was not there. In fact, he was sitting on the ground, against the wall with his hands on his knees and staring at the ground. He looked pitiful this way.

Saphira swallowed a little as she was not sure if she could accomplish anything tonight, but she stepped out into the light, and the small movement caught Springtrap's gaze. He glanced up in surprise before he blinked and looked away from her. "I am surprised you even came after me at all…especially after…what you have learned about me."

"I suppose I understand." She walked towards him slowly and she saw him tense, she did not know if that was due to nervousness or something else. "But I want you to know that I am not mad at you." He glanced at her in slight surprise. "You did do something very bad, however…I am not mad. I wasn't expecting you to…"

"It was something I never wanted you to know." The pain in Springtrap's voice was so sudden and Saphira felt her heart ache as she listened to him. "I had wanted to carry that alone for the rest of my existence…and the others promised to do the same. But those men had to blab about it while you were eavesdropping…I don't blame you. I am sure they would have used that against me at some point to turn you against me." He sighed deeply as he looked down. "And I do not even know if it has worked."

"If it worked, would I be standing in front of you in a calm manner?" He huffed at Saphira's question, and she smiled at him gently. "Springtrap, I fully understand why you wanted to keep it from me. And honestly, I wish I never knew. But sometimes…things like that are best to be told before it gets later, and it hurts more…if that makes." He shrugged as he kept his eyes on the ground. She moved to sit down next to him, making him tense even more in response. "And again, I am not mad."

Springtrap was silent for a moment before he shakes his head with a grimace. "But don't you see? This proves I am a monster!" He turned his head slightly to look at her. "You heard what I did to the security guards, you've seen what I do to people who trespass…and…now you know what I did…to that girl…can't you see? It makes me a monster."

"Perhaps." She rubbed her arms gently as she listened to him patiently. "But you have been hurting, Springtrap. And that, unfortunately, turned into a monster in itself. If that makes sense." He grumbled something under his breath that she didn't understand, but ignored it. "And when someone is in a lot of pain, that can turn into deep sadness and anger, and your actions follow whatever you are feeling. It doesn't excuse what you did, but while you were hurt, the actions you took weren't because of the real Springtrap. It was because of pain." He glanced away from her, still not wanting to believe her words. "I know, deep down, you are not a monster. The person who made you is more of a monster than you are."

"And yet, I eat humans," Springtrap said bluntly. "Does that not make me a monster because of it?"

"No, it does not." He huffed with a light growl of frustration. "If I were to walk into the territory of a pride of lions or a pack of wolves, there's a huge chance I am going to get eaten. I am prey to them, they're a predator. That does not make those animals a monster, it is simply how nature's selection works. And while, yes, you were not born of natural circumstances and your diet is restricted to a point, you are not a monster because of it." Springtrap listened and did not respond as Saphira spoke to him. "And I am a lucky one that I can tame a lion in this territory. I do not see monsters in this building, Springtrap. I see souls that need help. Even if it is just a little bit, I know what I can do will be enough. Even if my own life is at risk."

Springtrap turned his head and looked at her with a surprised expression. "You see souls that need help?" She nodded. "But…we don't have any souls. That seems…absurd to me."

"Why is it absurd? I don't think there's no reason why you should not have a soul." He did not know what to say in response to that and Saphira smiled at him. "Just because your birth was not the same as mine, does not mean that you wouldn't have a soul. If you don't believe that, I'll believe it for you."

Springtrap chuckled softly and shook his head. "I do not even understand how you think, Saphira. I cannot believe my ears. I…don't know how to process the idea that you believe that we have souls…but I think I am happy about that." He stared ahead of him with a sigh before he suddenly stood up and walked over to the vanity. Saphira stood up and watched as he placed his hands on the vanity and looked at the mirror. "I…how do you do you it?"

"Do what?"

"Not see me as a monster." He shakes his head again and looked down at the sink in front of him. "I was built to be a killer, Saphira. Just because I regret what I did, does not change anything. What I did was heinous…if I were a person, I would be put into prison. Even though this place is like our own personal prison."

"Because it wasn't the real you when you did what you did, Springtrap." Saphira walked closer to him and placed her hands on the vanity next to him. "I see past the exterior, and I see someone who is kind, gentle and a great person to be around. And I know you have changed because of the pain of me not being here, but I know that you didn't enjoy assaulting that girl. I know you were taking your anger and pain out on the trespassers and security guards, but you haven't said that you enjoy it. Because I know you don't. You do it to vent that pain and anger, channelling it into your desire to hunt and eat." She placed her hand on his arm, feeling him flinch slightly. "I see the real you, Springtrap. I am sure you don't believe that, but I know what I believe."

He stared at her hand for a few minutes before glancing at the mirror to look at her. "How do you do it? I…don't understand."

"Because the appearance of someone is not their personality, and I know from my own experience, pain can make you do things that you don't normally do." She rubbed his arm gently to try and comfort him. "I care deeply for you, Springtrap. I care a lot." He widened his eyes as he listened to her. "And I know that you are an amazing person. You don't like hurting people, which is why you regret what you did. And I'm sure you even regret how you've tortured and killed the security guards and trespassers." He nodded silently and she smiled. "I see the real you and there is no shame in that."

Springtrap looked at her curiously and smiled. "I still can't believe that you are willing to touch me. And yet…I believe what you say." He turned his head to look at her and she gazed at him. "Do you really care about me that much? Even after all this time?" She smiled and nodded affirmatively. Springtrap took a deep breath, his heart was beating quickly at the moment. "I…I don't even know what I have done to deserve someone as beautiful as you. Inside and out." Saphira blushed slightly from the comment and Springtrap stared at her with a smile. "I care deeply for you too. I know…I did not show it at first. And I guess, my pain and anger was stronger than how I felt for you. But I never stopped caring."

"I am not going to pretend that I understand your pain fully. What you and I have experienced is different, but…I look at you, and I see myself." He blinked in confusion and surprise as he listened to her. "Because I sympathize with you, and we both have been at our lowest over the past few years. Our actions might be different, but the pain is raw and real. That is why it is easy for me to look past your exterior, and see inside. I think it's a good thing. And I want you to not ever feel alone."

Springtrap looked down, feeling the warmth in his heart. He felt as though the love he had for this girl was growing. She was standing by him despite his shortcomings, and he was so happy about that. "What did I do to deserve you?"

"I could say the same thing." He chuckled softly and looked up at the mirror, gazing at her with a soft smile. "I know we both are also trying to hold onto the childhood friendship, while also trying the rekindle it. It will never be same, I don't want it to be the same. I hope you can find it in yourself to relax completely around me." Saphira shuffled closer and wrapped her arms around his waist to hug him, feeling him stiffen from the touch. "You have always been my best friend. I don't want anything to change that." He said nothing as his emotions were running raw at the moment. "You have no need to worry, Springtrap. But I do need to ask." He glanced down at her curiously. "Was it only the one time?"

Springtrap looked at her in surprise. "Yes. It was." He tilts his head and frowns slightly. "Did Afton and Mike want to imply there was more than one girl?" She nodded. "Well…considering those two are hoping the nightmare animatronics will kill you, I guess I should not be surprised that they would want to tell you that to destabilize our friendship. I hope you believe me over them."

"Of course I do." Saphira smiled at him. "I would never believe them over you." She stood on her toes and kissed his cheek, making him look at her in surprise. "I'm going to go back to the office. I brought some more sketchbooks if you want to keep practicing your drawing."

Springtrap was pleased to hear that. "I would like that. Actually…Actually never mind." She was curious about what he was going to say. "If you wouldn't mind giving me sometime to sort out my head, I'd like that. I think I need a moment to myself."

"Okay, as long as you aren't thinking about bad things still." She lets him go and made her way to the door, stopping and looking back at him. "And I hope you do not doubt the fact that I care deeply for you, Springtrap. I well and truly do."

"No, I will never doubt it."

Saphira hoped that was the case as she left the bathroom. She felt much happier now. She looked at the tablet she still had with her and saw she had to reboot the system again. She made her way to the main dining room and saw Foxy stepping into the hallway.

"Argh, I was wonderin' if ye and Springtrap were talkin'. I hope things have been sort out." Saphira smiled at Foxy's voice, she loved his accent and she nodded at him. "That's good. Ye know, I don't think I apologized for what I said…the night I first talked to ya."

Saphira gave him a surprised expression. "I don't think you have any reason to apologize. You were just playing along, and that is fine. But I appreciate it anyway, Foxy. If you were carrying that guilt, you can wash that away."

"Good. Actually, I was wantin' to talk with ya." She smiled at him as she walked over to the door. "Mangle has been mad that ye caught her and I…ye know. More mad at me than ya, of course." Saphira raised a surprised eyebrow and she listened to him. "I'm not sure if ye are good at this sort of stuff, but…she has been avoidin' me. She says I embarrassed her. We both were embarrassed by the unexpected moment."

"Sounds like she just needs time to realize it was an accident. I don't think she's blaming you intentionally, she's just embarrassed." Foxy didn't fully understand and Saphira grinned at him. "Does Mangle have a favorite thing? I can bring some chocolates for you to give her tomorrow."

"She does like white chocolate, for some reason. Hmm, I suppose if the wind blows the right direction, a box of chocolates is the best treasure I can give her." Foxy nodded as he rubbed his hook along his chin. "I think that sounds great."

"And I'll write a small note for her to read. Hopefully that will stop her ignoring you. But, you should maybe take your romance somewhere else next time if you don't want to get caught."

"Yeah…yer are right." She chuckled softly as she walked into the dining room to see Fredbear, Bonnie, Freddy, Chica, Toy Freddy and Phantom Chica in the room. "Argh, everyone here has been worried about you and Springtrap."

"Were you and Springtrap able to talk it out?" Fredbear asked, turning towards Saphira and Foxy with a worried expression. "Especially since this is a subject Springtrap hates talking about due to the regret he feels about it."

Saphira nodded with a smile. "You will be pleased to know that Springtrap has no need to feel guilty for what he's done. He knows I'm not mad, and that I've forgiven him for his actions. I think he's still currently in disbelief."

"I can't imagine why." Bonnie walked over with a grin. "You seem to see things so differently to anyone I know. But you have always been special." He stepped closer and hugged her suddenly, making Saphira giggle. "Thank you for not making Springtrap feel like a villain. He knows what he's done was wrong, and he wants to make it up to you, even though we all had hoped you would never have found out."

"I was not going to be angry at him, Bonnie." She smiled at the animatronic as Bonnie let's her go. "I would if he wasn't remorseful, but I don't see any point in being angry about something that was fuelled by pain. Pain makes us do funny things. You aren't too different from humans."

"I really need to take a page out of your book," Freddy comments with a light chuckle. "You are the kindest person I know. Despite how sweet your scent is, I think the sweetness shows how kind you are and it makes me not want to eat you. Too sweet can be too bad."

"I don't disagree about that." Saphira walked toward the door to head to the office. "I'm going to go grab a sketchbook so that Springtrap and I can do a bit of drawing." She looked at Freddy with a curious expression. "Do you think you want to do some singing? I have a song in mind for you to sing."

The animatronic gave her a surprised expression before grinning. "I would love to. If it's a song about friendship, I think I know which one you are thinking about. Bonnie, Chica, Toy Freddy, Phantom Chica, we should gather the rest for a great end of the night."

They all nod in agreement as Saphira opened the door. "This is going to be a great night!" Chica exclaimed enthusiastically. "Make sure you hurry back. Maybe we can play the music loud enough for Springtrap to come out from that bathroom."

Saphira hoped that was the case. She closed the door and turned to keep walking when she heard a click. She looked at the door with a frown and grabbed the handle. She tried to open the door and realized it was locked. Saphira felt panic fill her very being as goose bumps cover her skin and she shivered.

"Uh, hey guys!" She called out, leaning against the door. "The door just locked. I'm going to try and see if I can unlock it…hopefully it's not a bad thing." She heard confused voices on the other side and someone grabbed the door and tried opening it. "Please do not break the door."

"That is the most wise advice you can give them right now." Saphira tensed and shivered when she heard his voice. She took a deep breath as she stood there nervously. "Oh, come now, don't be shy. Turn around and let me see you, Miss Dawn."

Saphira trembled as she slowly turned around to face him. To her surprise, she saw Afton wearing a cloak. She could still see his dusty, blonde hair, but she couldn't see his face properly. She couldn't even see his eyes. But he was holding a knife in his hand, and she knew he would use it if she did something he did not like. Complying will be the safest thing she could do for herself right now.

"Now I see why Springtrap likes you." The man stepped closer and Saphira pressed her back against the door. "A lovely girl like you…and from what I have been seeing and hearing, your personality is as sweet as those emerald eyes of yours." She turned her head to look away, but he grabbed her cheeks roughly and forced her to look at him with his nails digging into her skin. "Look at me while I'm talking to you." She whimpered softly as she stared at the shadow of his face. "Now come, we have a bit to discuss."

He pulled her roughly by the face, making her stumble and gasped when he placed his arm around her shoulders, with the knife resting against her arm. He walked her towards the office, and she had no idea what he wanted to do or say to her. As far as she knew, none of it could be good, and she wondered if he had been waiting for this moment for a while.

"I must say, I almost missed you before. But you couldn't help but eavesdrop, could you?" She didn't know if she should respond to that or not. "Well…I know you weren't meaning to, but you heard Mike and I talk. But I have wanted to speak to you for a while, and this is as good of a moment as any." He raised the knife and placed the tip against her right cheek, making her shiver fearfully. "I am very impressed by you, Saphira. You have survived a week here, and you are likely to survive many more…" He pressed the tip into her skin, making her yelp as the knife pricked her skin and she felt the warmth of blood bleeding from the wound. "I want you to do something for me."

"W-What could…uh…you want m-m-me to do?" Saphira asked nervously as Afton guides her into the office. "Uh…I'm not…that smart."

"You are smarter than most people. Now sit down!" He shoved her into her chair and Saphira fell into it, and it nearly fell backwards. She managed to sit down and place her hand on her cheek, looking at the blood on her hand. "Mike is disposable. He has always been disposable and he knows it. But you…" He points the knife at Saphira. "There is only one of you. You have fallen into the hearts and minds of my creations, and I have to agree, you are one of the most beautiful young women I've seen in my life. However…there will be a task I want you to do. But I know you are not yet able to do it yet." Saphira frowned at him in confusion as he began to pace slowly in front of her. "You know what I want to achieve, I want immortality. And if I can find it in living metal, I want that more than anything." Saphira was still not following. "You have a unique opportunity to see if something can happen to ensure that. Of course, I will achieve my level of existence before that happens."

"Um…okay."

The man chuckled deviously and looked at Saphira with an evil grin. "Despite what Mike says, there are no flaws in my animatronics. One day, the people of this society will accept them. The nightmare animatronics…well…you shouldn't worry about them. You will win them over. At least the ones that are coming here, anyway."

What does he mean by that?

"I have my own personal collection that I keep to myself so I can train and enslave." She shivered and frowned, a little angry that Afton would do that to his own animatronics. "You may get to meet them if you live long enough. And don't worry, I am not the one who will kill you." He chuckled coldly as she shivered fearfully. "But I am glad that you agree to do this…though I know you have absolutely no idea what I'm asking of you. Not that I care very much." Saphira did not react as she simply sat there. "But I would like your help in getting rid of Mike." She was surprised suddenly, though as Afton had spoken about the man being disposable, she guessed she should not be surprised. "You don't need to know the details, but you will agree to play along." She just nodded a little. "Excellent. Oh, and just to let you know…" Afton walked around her to the vent, Saphira turned the chair slowly to watch him as he opened the vent. "If there is anything that you do that I am not particularly happy about it, I will have these guys come after you. And they are real animatronics, not lively ones like your friendly animatronics in the next room."

Saphira widened her eyes as she saw two, small Freddy-like animatronics. They looked a little withered, but they have two rows of sharp teeth, black eyes with silver pupils, small top hats, claws on their hands and feet. They weren't much bigger than a toddler, but they looked dangerous, and Saphira could see that. And she could also tell they were definitely robotic animatronic, and not lively ones. Which means Afton could do whatever he wanted.

"I know you have heard my little Freddles already…" Afton looked at her and she could tell he was grinning without seeing his face. "They do a great job of keeping a close eye on things for me. You see, I manufactured the camera system for this facility to not record, because there is no way I want someone, like the police, nosing around and finding things out. But yet…" He lowered his voice to a deadly tone and Saphira shivered. "You seem to be very good at detecting things. Maybe a hidden talent, one that I am not sure I like, but it is not like you know exactly how these animatronics are made. Maybe I'll show you one day if I feel like it." He chuckled a little and Saphira just stared at him nervously, not knowing what to say. "I am so glad that we finally meet properly. I know you will not disappoint me. However, since you found yourself going through my diaries, I am going to have to punish you. I hope you are good at running."

Saphira jumped a bit. "W-What do…" Before she could even finish asking the question, the two Freddles jumped out of the vent, along with several other Freddles and ran towards her with their teeth loudly clanging together.

She shrieked and kicked one away, grimacing as while she kicked the Freddle away, its body was hard and it hurt her leg and she stood from the chair and to run from the Freddles. "That's it! Run, run as fast as you can! Don't rely on your precious Springtrap, he can't get to you!"

Saphira ran towards the loading docks, hoping the door could be opened. But she found it was locked as well, and she yelped as one of the Freddles jumped on her back and bit into her right shoulder. She threw it off and she realized these things were fast. She ran around the others, while they jumped at her and landed on the wall. She glanced back and saw they could run on the walls and the roof, making them even scarier. She heard Afton's cold laughter as she thought of what to do while she ran back down the hallway.

I could get the crowbar…but he might stop me…

The tip of her shoe suddenly caught in the gap of the bricks and she fell forward with a shriek, landing hard on the ground and grazing her chin. Two Freddles scratched her legs and she kicked them away and ran into the nearby bathroom, closing the door and holding it shut. She heard the Freddles scurry away and enter a vent, making her scream as the vent behind her popped open and several Freddles lunged at her, ripping her clothes, biting her arms, face, neck and legs while scratching as well until they stopped after a couple minutes and scurried back into the vent.

Saphira collapsed on the ground from pain as their bites and scratches stung, and she was almost completely naked as her clothes were shredded, leaving her in only her bra, panties and shoes. She crawled to the other side of the bathroom, not knowing what Afton wanted to do as she heard the bathroom door open slowly and she pressed her head and chest into the wall to try and hide her shame from him, and so she would not allow him to enjoy the pleasure of seeing her this way.

"This is just but a taste of what I can do to you, Saphira," The man sneered joyfully as he gazed at her while she was huddled on the ground. "It brings me so much joy seeing you in such a pitiful way. Such a beautiful creature…it's a shame you now belong to me just as much as animatronics do." He chuckled loudly as he left the bathroom shortly after, much to her relief. "Enjoy what's left of the rest of the night, if you can."

Saphira heard the back door open and slam shut as Afton finally left. She let out some sobs as the hallway door slammed open as the animatronics finally entered the hallway. "Saphira!" Saphira did not respond as she heard the voices of Fredbear, Bonnie and Springtrap shout for her.

"I smell blood!" Toy Bonnie exclaimed with worry. "Wait…that scent is familiar…that's not Mike's scent…"

"Afton?" Golden Bonnie's voice spoke in a shaky, worried tone.

"Maybe…" Saphira tensed as she heard the bathroom door open slowly. "Oh my…there's blood all over the floor here in this bathroom." She continued sobbing and remained pressed against the wall as she heard his footsteps enter the bathroom. "Oh no…Saphira…what happened? Are you okay?"

Saphira did not respond to him. She couldn't say anything, she didn't know what to say. She heard his footsteps approach. She worried that the sight and smell of her blood would entice them. She felt a familiar hand on her back, making her jump from the contact. "Saphira…" Hearing Springtrap's gentle voice made her turn and throw her arms around him and bury her face into his chest as the animatronic had knelt down. She felt his strong, warm, metal arms wrap around her. "It's alright. You are safe now."

"But…I…" She sniffled loudly. "My blood…"

"It doesn't bother us," Bonnie said reassuringly as he kneels by her. "I do not recognize them cuts and bites. Was this something Afton did?" Saphira just nodded without responding to him. "Hmm…I suppose you can tell us…uh, we are going to need the medical kit. Some of these wounds look deeper than others."

"Already on it!" Fredbear's voice exclaimed as he walked into the bathroom. "Here. You are the one who knows more about medical stuff than the rest of us, Bonnie."

"Thank you."

"Alright, mateys, let us clean the deck!" Foxy instructed in an authoritive voice. "We are not leavin' this bathroom in a mess like this. And someone get the lass new clothes. They're completely shredded!"

"Let's clean her up first." Saphira heard Bonnie opening the first aid kit. "Hmm…I am going to clean what I can, Saphira. Once I do that, I'll probably put some pressure pads on the wounds to stop the bleeding. Many of these are deep, not enough to be of course though…and trust me, we know how deep wounds can be before there's no going back. After that, there's ointment here I can use, but it might sting. Springtrap, make sure she doesn't move too much until I say."

Saphira felt Springtrap nod as his chin was resting on top of her head. She was still trembling from fear and the words spoken to her by Afton was replaying in her mind. This was some kind of game he was playing right now, and she was another player. She did not know what exactly he wanted her to do, he was not very explicit at all. She hoped it wasn't something she could not achieve at all, because that made her worry that he would do something horrible to her or even to her family. Regardless, she felt safe in Springtrap's arms at this time. She didn't care she was almost completely naked in front of the animatronics, but they were helping her and cleaning the bathroom and hallway of the mess. She did not know how to tell the animatronics what she had heard from Afton's mouth and what was crawling through the vents of the attraction.
