Sitting in the office chair, wearing brand new clothes as she clung to Springtrap's arms. She had a very hard time letting him go while the animatronics cleaned up the mess of the bathroom, and the blood that was on her. Ointment had been applied to Saphira's cheek to help soothe and kick start the healing of the knife wound. Bonnie had primarily helped Saphira by helping to clean her skin and put new clothes on. Saphira was still terrified as she trembled violently from fear. She still did not know what to say to the animatronics regarding what Afton had said. Especially since she knew that the Freddles could attack her at any time.
Springtrap himself refused to leave Saphira's side. Seeing her terrified like this made him feel horrible for her. She had not yet said a word this entire time, but he preferred that she would take her time to tell them than be forced to say anything when she was not really ready. He wanted her to take her time. He held her as she clung to him as the mess gets cleaned up by the others.
"Everything's almost back to how it looked before," Freddy said as he walked to the door of the office. Bonnie was in the office as well as he had finished cleaning the blood from Saphira's face. The blood from the wound had taken a bit of time to stop seeping out of the cut, a and Saphira liked having the rabbit animatronic around anyway. "The tiles are cleaned, and everything is mostly put back to the way it was. We only need to find somewhere to put her tattered, bloodied clothes and to clean the mops thoroughly before we are done."
"Good job, Freddy. We do not need any unwanted questions being asked by people during the day." Bonnie glanced at Saphira who didn't really react to Freddy speaking to them. "I do not think she could handle it."
Freddy looked at Saphira with a sympathetic expression. He felt bad for her. "I never thought I would say this, but seeing a human in that state worried me." Bonnie and Springtrap gave him a curious expression. "You know what I mean. I know she is our friend, best friend, but I have never really felt bad for a human who gets hurt."
"I guess I understand what you mean," Bonnie said slowly, even though he himself often felt bad. He disliked having to kill people for food, but he did it knowing that was the reason. "But I have a different view about this sort of thing, Freddy. I honestly…well…when Saphira was much smaller…I always felt protective of her."
Springtrap looked at him surprise. "You have? I guess I should have realized. You treat her like a daughter, so to speak…even though I don't particularly know how to be a parent."
Bonnie chuckled softly at his comment. "I guess as Saphira and I developed a bond, I became protective of her and I felt a sense of love for her." Saphira turned her head slightly as she was listening to him. "It isn't a physical attraction though, I have my own eyes set on Golden Bonnie…even though she seems to prefer to not be in a relationship."
Springtrap seemed relieved knowing that Bonnie didn't feel romantic feelings for Saphira. But he himself knew he had feelings that he didn't know that he could admit. "Saphira is lucky to have us in her life."
"You know very well that's a lie, Springtrap," Bonnie said sadly as his expression softened. "If she never knew us, she wouldn't be in this situation. But now she cannot get away. Not like she could last week."
"Yeah, I know…but I guess before, she was lucky to have us," Springtrap agreed begrudgingly, even though he knew that Saphira would have been safer to leave than to stay and risk her own life. He looked down at her. "I guess we will be doing what we can to help you, Saphira. I know you have been threatened most likely, and you were attacked…"
"It was more than that," Saphira interrupts, her voice was dry as she was feeling dehydrated from the crying she had done. "Afton has been wanting to talk to me. Apparently, he likes me."
"Likes you?" Freddy tilts his head in surprise. He was confused as well. "It certainly does not seem like he likes you. That seems weird."
"I am not sure what he means, but I think he has been impressed with how I have figured out things. I don't know." Saphira sniffled as she looked up at Springtrap. "For some reason, he claims this is a game he wants to play. And…he wants me to help him with something, but I have no idea what." She shuddered at the very idea of it. "He…he also wants to get rid of Mike, and wants me to help, or at the very least, play along."
"Okay, that was not what I expected," Bonnie said thoughtfully. "I would have assumed he wanted to do something else." He lifts his hand to his chin and rubbed it thoughtfully. "Hmm…it really does seem suspicious to me. And…" He frowned as he thought on it more. "It might be worse than tormenting you." He looked at her with a very worried expression. "While I do not know what exactly we can do, I am actually worried that you will be forced into something more extreme and you have no control."
"Probably…his little surveillance system will make sure of that." She gestures to the vent on the wall of the office, making the three animatronics look at it. "You remember hearing the little scurrying, Springtrap?" He nodded slowly. "Well, it just so happens that they are Freddles." Freddy frowned as he already didn't like the name. "They real animatronics with sharp teeth and claws, and they're designed to keep an eye on us since the cameras do not record anything."
Springtrap narrowed his eyes and sighed. "And they will keep you and use in check if we somehow do something he dislikes." He shakes his head and tightened his hug around her, making Saphira widen her eyes in surprise. "You are truly trapped like I am, and I am so sorry."
Saphira smiled a little before it quickly faded. "I don't feel that way." He looked at her when she said that. "Sure, I might be trapped, but I don't feel that. Not while I have you, Springtrap. But don't worry, I don't intend on doing anything stupid. I'll just play along for now."
He was unconvinced, but he also didn't want to argue with her. "Very well. Thank you for telling us. It is a shame, we were going to do something fun…but you've had a hard night. You learned something horrible about my past, and now you have met Afton, and found yourself chased and attacked…"
"Yeah, true." She glanced at the time. It was twenty past four, and she had a little over an hour and a half before her shift would end. She truthfully didn't want to do too much. She was too shaken to do anything. "I truthfully don't feel like doing much, Springtrap. I don't even want to draw. But I am sure we can figure something out."
"That's understandable," Bonnie commented gently with a slight smile. "How about some pizza? There is some in the kitchen that we have not touched, and it is still edible." Saphira shook her head with a slight grimace. "Also understandable. I know pizza would taste much better fresh." He paused for a moment. "What about a hot chocolate? Toy Chica can rustle one up for you if you would like one. I have no doubt a bit of chocolate will make things much better."
Saphira thought about it for a moment before nodding. Hot chocolate sounded very nice at the moment, and she was rather willing to have something to help her settle and relax. Ice cream sounded great too, but she knew that she couldn't have that. Bonnie left the office to inform Toy Chica of the request. Freddy followed him, leaving Springtrap and Saphira alone in the office. She leaned against him as he held her. It was a little awkward as she was sitting in her chair while hugging Springtrap, but she didn't care.
"I am curious now, if Afton intends on keeping you alive for something, would that mean that the nightmare animatronics aren't going to be…dangerous?" Springtrap asked curiously as he thought about it. "Unless I am reading this all wrong. And are there other animatronics coming?"
"Well…he didn't really say. And to be honest, I don't know if he truly makes their personalities that way. I don't believe evil is born, Springtrap, and I believe that even for animatronics. But he did mention he had his own personal animatronics he is training." She shivered at the thought. She felt sad for the animatronics he had in his grasp as she did not know what he was doing to them. "I don't know if what he says is absolutely true though, but if it is true, I kind of already feel sorry for those animatronics in his clutches."
Springtrap couldn't help but smile as hearing her say she was feeling sorry for the animatronics Afton could have was another reason why he loved her a lot for her gentle, humble nature. He himself knew that he was likely a lucky animatronic if what Afton had said is true. He did not know what Afton would do to the animatronics that were in his possession, and he really didn't want to know as he assumed it would be awful.
"Does that mean you don't think animatronics under Afton's control would be evil?" Springtrap asked her curiously.
"Well…no. I know everyone of your have been made with a different personality, and that is good. And for all I know, he has animatronics that might not necessarily meld well with his ways. But of course, I don't know if he is telling the truth, or simply toying with me." She took a deep breath before moving to stand up. "Sorry, Springtrap, I need to use the bathroom. And I don't really want to hold your hand while I pee."
He smiled at her as he helped her to her feet. "It is alright. We have all had a big night." She nodded as she walked towards the bathroom door. "Listen, Saphira, I…I am glad that you came to speak with me earlier." She glanced at him as he spoke to her. "You helped me realize a lot. I honestly did not think that you didn't believe that the way I behaved was the real me. I am glad that you think that, but…you know, a part of me thinks it could be."
She took a hold of the door handle and drummed her fingers thoughtfully. "You were designed to be rather ruthless, according to Mike. But even if that is the case, I don't believe that you are truly like that. We wouldn't have become friends if that truly was the case. You shouldn't fear that, Springtrap. You are good. To me, you are good." He smiled at her as she reiterated that he wasn't evil. "And to be honest, if that is what you were designed for, your inner strength is stronger and you have been able to be someone different. And that is a positive thing you should remember, Springtrap."
She stepped inside the bathroom and closed it behind her. Springtrap's smile seemed to widen as hearing that he could have overcome what he was meant to be really felt good. He had never really thought of it that way, and he was glad that Saphira told him it was possible. It was so nice to have someone say that to him, and his feelings for Saphira felt as though they grew by two times. He really didn't know how he was going to act during the next few weeks, but he would try to keep himself self controlled.
"How is it that you have gone through so much pain, and you still come out so…sweet?" Springtrap asked as he leaned against the wall by the bathroom door. "I…I am still struggling with my actions, my thoughts, my feelings, and you are showing me I could be different again, and I don't know how you do it."
"Truthfully, I don't know," Saphira responded honestly. "I guess I just do it. And to be honest, I am not over the pain of the past, Springtrap. I don't think I ever will be for some time. But I just kind of live my life. Or at least, I go along with it. It never meant I was happy. I honestly was happier here than I was in a long time." She knew that had changed when Springtrap and the others were angry at her, but now she was definitely happier, despite the threats she's been given. "I guess that is why I want to stay. I think I have to, even if I had a choice, because you are my friends. And I would love to see if it is possible for you to have a life different from what you know."
Springtrap listened and felt his heart glow from the happiness, and sadness as he listened to her. She had a reason to be here, even if it was not from the reason he had expected. "It sounds like quite a dream, Saphira. Hopefully it is something to achieve. But I guess we can only do our best. And I hope you will not put yourself in a position where you will be in a lot of danger."
"A little too late, I think." Saphira already felt as though she was in a heap of danger, and it didn't matter if there was not any immediate danger right now. Aside from the Freddles in the vents. "No matter how you look at it, I am already in a lot of danger. I just need to be cautious when I proceed with something."
"Yeah, I guess you are right." Springtrap sounded a bit defeated as he listened to Saphira. "I will try to protect you as much as I can. I see now that there are controls of this place that I was no aware of. And only one person seems to have that power."
Saphira agreed. She wiped herself once she finished and stood up to flush the toilet before washing her hands. "I do not know what I will even do yet, Springtrap. All I want to do right now is just let you hold me while I drink a cup of hot chocolate. If I do think of anything, I will mention it. But not right now."
Springtrap did not saying anything else. He completely understood that she really didn't want to do anything else. It had been a terribly hard night for all of them. He glanced at the vent with a frown, almost wanting to go in there to destroy the Freddles. He had tried to before they knew the Freddles even existed. But he knew that probably would not be a good idea. He couldn't stand and run in the vents, he could only crawl through them. And the Freddles probably could run through the vents and be able to attack him. So it was an idea he scratched rather quickly.
Saphira wouldn't want him to go in there either. But now they were in a dilemma of not knowing what they can do to help Saphira. She was pushed into a corner and had no way of getting out at this time because if she tried, she and her family would all suffer. Springtrap could not be angry that she did not leave anymore. She chose to stay because they were her friends. She chose to stay because she wanted to clear a misunderstanding. And she chose to stay because Saphira has already admitted that she has loved him for years. Even when she was a kid. He could only be angry at his creator, Mister Afton.
Saphira stepped out of the bathroom and looked at Springtrap with a smile. "What should we do on my next shift? We could do painting together. I was going to see if the others wanted to join in."
He chuckled a little at Saphira when she asked what she wanted to do on her next shift. "I do not mind, as long as I am with you. Painting sounds great to learn. But…" He lifts his hand to his chin to rub thoughtfully. "Hmm…I will think of something. We all kind of need something fun to do anyway."
"That sounds like an idea." Saphira chuckled at him and hugged him. Springtrap rubbed her back gently as she relaxed against him. She breathed in his scent, and it was comforting to her. "Do you know you have a unique scent?"
"What?" Springtrap tilts his head in surprise and let out a huff of amusement. "Okay, I have not been told that one before." He began to laugh and Saphira looked up at him. She smiled as she saw he was very amused by the comment. "I have to say, that is the last thing I ever expected to be told. But I am curious. Is it a good smell, or a bad smell?"
"It is a good smell. I like it." Saphira chuckled a little when Springtrap was still very amused. "It brings comfort. And, I guess I must have noticed when I was a kid, because it was one of the first things I noticed when I came back and you were standing close to me. At least…when your breath didn't smell of blood and flesh, of course."
He couldn't help but hug her. "I am very happy that I can comfort you in simple ways. Even when I am not actively trying to comfort you." He shakes his head. "This is something I am not sure I'll be able to forget. For some reason, I thought I would smell bad. You know, because of my appearance."
"Then guests would complain." Saphira turned her head when she heard the door in the hallway open and close. She heard footsteps approaching and she figured it was Toy Chica. "Looks like my hot chocolate has arrived." She was surprised to see Bonnie walking by the window first with Toy Chica behind him. "Did you get to assist Toy Chica with making the hot chocolate, Bonnie?"
Bonnie walked into the office, and Saphira noticed he was holding a plate with several cupcakes and cookies on it. "I know you didn't feel like eating, but we figured you might want something to accompany the hot chocolate. I have a few cakes and cookies here. I remember your favorite cookie was the key lime cookie. They still make it." Saphira stared at the plate as Bonnie placed it on the desk. "There's also chocolate chip and gingersnap cookies."
Saphira walked away from Springtrap and hugged Bonnie. "Thank you. That is so sweet of you. I guess you are right. Anything sweet will certainly help me feel better. Even if it isn't necessarily good for me." She chuckled as she turned to Toy Chica as the animatronic carefully placed the mug onto the desk. "Cinnamon?"
She turned her head and smiled at Saphira. "Of course! I would never change to a plain, old, milk hot chocolate on you, Saphira. This is your favorite one and the best to make you feel better. And to honest…" She glanced at Bonnie with a smirk. "I would have suggested ice cream, but Bonnie thought the cakes and cookies are better."
"Ice cream does sound good." Saphira walked over to the chair and sat down, grabbing the key lime cookie and sniffing it, breathing in the delicious scent. "But these are great. Thanks again, Bonnie. You did not have to do this, but I am grateful. Springtrap can always have one if I decide I don't want it."
He blinked in surprise. "Really? You would share one with me?"
"I used to try and do that as a kid. You don't remember? I had a whole dozen key lime cookies and I tried pushing one into your mouth." She chuckled a little as she thought back to what she did as a child. "I can't believe that you didn't even eat the biscuit. I bet you were trying your hardest to ignore something so delicious."
"I do remember. And I really, really remember thinking you were crazy for trying to feed me. Even though I did end up tasting…" Springtrap flinched when Saphira suddenly held the cookie out to him. "Oh, no, I don't want to take it, Saphira. It is yours."
"But I want you to have it." Saphira smiled at him. "It might be my favorite, but you are also my favorite animatronic. So you should definitely have it because of that reason." He glanced down at the cookie again before gently taking it from her. "I don't need to always have my favorite food. I don't mind if someone else has it."
Springtrap stared at the cookie in disbelief. He had not expected her to give away her favorite cookie. He looked up when he heard her sipping the hot chocolate. He truthfully stayed away from sweet things. He enjoyed the smell of them, but he's never eaten them. This was mostly because he had not wanted to. But Saphira had offered him something sweet, and he figured he should eat it.
"The place is all clean now, too," Bonnie said softly, getting Saphira's attention. "There shouldn't be any comment tomorrow, though I don't think Mike really makes any kind of note or comment about the odd things that happen around here. Especially when it involves us."
"At least it is all clean, that is all that matters." Saphira sipped another mouthful and glanced at the tablet when the signal goes off. She sighed and hit the reboot buttons. "It would be nice if that didn't have to be something I have to worry about."
"He's designed the horror attraction that way, I am afraid," Toy Chica said in a slow tone. She glanced at Springtrap when he took a bite of the cookie and chewed, making her smile at him. "This is the first time you've ever had a cookie, Springtrap." Saphira looked at him in surprise as she had no been expecting that. "How does it taste?"
Springtrap took a moment before placing the rest of the cookie into his mouth to eat. Saphira smiled and grabbed the chocolate chip. "Seems like he likes it. Hopefully it does not start an addiction to sweet stuff. I can easily buy stuff from the stores before coming here to share, so it will be fine."
Springtrap rubbed his mouth as he finished off the cookie. "It was really good. I wasn't sure what to expect. I see why you like it, Saphira. It isn't too sweet, but it's sweet enough to be enjoyable. It makes me wonder how sweet is too sweet."
She chuckled softly. Saphira was thoroughly amused he loved the cookie, but she was also wondering how many things Springtrap had missed out on because he avoided it due to the pain he has gone through. Saphira did share one of the cakes to Springtrap as well. She gave him the vanilla cupcake and he thoroughly enjoyed that too. She could tell he wasn't expecting it to be very soft and light, but he enjoyed it. It actually made the end to Saphira's shift really nice.
She was also thinking on what she could do. She wanted to know where Afton was making the animatronics, and if there was a way to see how. She knew that following Afton's RAM would not be possible because he knew her car, and he would likely not lead her to his house. She had to think of something though. The nightmare animatronics are coming in a couple weeks, and she still did not have a lot of answers. But what she did know was that she was going to try her best, build a stronger bond with the animatronics and figure out how she could find out more about Afton and where his base of creations were.
