Two Weeks Later…
Two weeks had passed since the incident with Saphira meeting Mister Afton, and nothing has really happened too much since that time. Mike still acted as he had been with her as a nice guy during these couple weeks, although he has slipped once or twice, even though Saphira acted as though it did not happen. She was unfortunately getting used to trespassers entering the attraction several times a week. She has learned it didn't matter what time they get it, it only mattered if she happened to be in the same area of the trespassers or not. She has witnessed the animatronics kill people two more times, and the rest of the time she's just heard the screams or she had her earphones on and listening to music to cover up the screams. But she was starting to have nightmares of the killings, and she hated them. She didn't see the animatronics as monsters, but the nightmares made them look that way.
Her friendship with Springtrap has grown significantly as well. Not only has he gotten better at drawing, but Saphira was also teaching him to paint. And she was surprised that he picked up the skill so quickly. His favorite painting he had created so far was a painting he made of her and himself standing by a window watching the sunset together. Saphira found it sad more than endearing because the painting still show the two of them trapped in this attraction. She knew that Springtrap may or may not recognize it, but she did.
Now that she has been at the establishment for a month now, Saphira was pretty happy. The nightmare animatronics would be delivered rather soon, and she was a little nervous about meeting them if she was honest. Saphira and the animatronics were still worried about how the nightmare animatronics would react to her even if Afton had said she wanted to be a part of his game. The game could include having to win over the new animatronics.
It was Wednesday right now and Saphira had just arrived at the attraction. It was feeling like a normal job for her now. She had placed her bag down just as Mike walked into the office holding some files. "Good evening, Saphira. I must say, I am glad to come in and see you everyday. I got so used to new night guards every week, it took a little while to get used to seeing just the same person every day."
Saphira didn't really react to that very much, other than give him a slight smirk. "Well, what can I say? This place has grown on me. And…well…I do need a job, even if it is a night shift. My family are pretty much ignoring me anyway, so I may get a cheap place to rent soon."
The man was immediately surprised by her admittance she wouldn't be with her family soon. "Ah, I see. We are certainly doing well." He chuckled softly as he placed the files onto his desk and sat down. "I actually need to talk to you about Friday." She was immediately curious about what he was going to say to her. "You can actually have the night off." She frowned a little as she didn't know why. "There are some deliveries on Friday, and I will be taking over the night guard shift for the night. You won't see me Saturday because of it, but I wanted you to know that you won't be needed this Friday."
Deliveries? Maybe the nightmare animatronics are arriving.
"It is going to feel a little strange, I think…but okay," Saphira said with some enthusiasm. "But can I make a guess of what is so special about these deliveries that you need to be present for them?" The man gave her a smirk. "I assume the nightmare animatronics are arriving, and you need to set the Bedroom of Nightmares for them."
"Nothing seems to get by you." The man chuckled as he began to sign the documents he had. "You are correct. I have to be here when new animatronics arrive, that's just the policy. So you can enjoy your night and do something instead of working here. You'll definitely meet the nightmare animatronics on Saturday night."
Saphira tapped her finger on her desk thoughtfully as she didn't know how the first meeting of these animatronics will go. "I look forward to meeting them. I have a basic idea of what they will look like based on the drawing you showed me of Nightmare Bonnie, but what they will look like in person…I am curious."
"I will say they're a little taller than the rest of the animatronics, but they aren't tall by that much," Mike said as he continued to sign the documents. "I'm just signing off a few things to send off to the boss about the new animatronics."
She nodded in understanding and began thinking on a few things. "Why do I need to be away from the attraction when you deliver the new animatronics anyway? Is it just a safety issue or something?"
"Partly, yes," Mike said affirmatively. "But as the manager of this place, it is my duty to personally oversee any new deliveries of animatronics. And while I know you are extremely responsible, I take on the night shift so you won't need to be here. Two people on the night shift doesn't seem to be plausible. I am capable of doing the shift since a lot of the night will spent making sure the animatronics are in their place."
"Fair enough." Saphira was still thinking about it. "I assume they get delivered after midnight." He nodded. "Well, I guess I get the joy of being able to have sleep during the night instead of during the day."
He chuckled softly. "Yep, that is precisely why it is good. I know you may not necessarily sleep at night, but you'll be able to keep doing your study." He looked at her curiously. "You would be almost finished your work right."
Saphira nodded. "I got back my grades for my last few assignments and they're all A's and B's, which I am happy with. Just two more assignments and no more schoolwork ever."
"That's wonderful news." He finished signing and he turned his chair to place the files into the cabinet beside him. He leaned back in the chair and placed his hands on his face. "Ugh! So much paperwork to do when new animatronics show up…at least there won't any new ones until Halloween this year. I have no doubt people are going to love them."
"I hope they do. But I expect a similar result as they have with Springtrap. It will be nice to see people love him a bit more. But I don't expect it to change. In his own right, he will always have a creepy appearance." Even though Saphira could never see Springtrap as creepy. She never did.
"I agree." He filled the draw with the documents and closed it with a deep sigh. "Alright, that's pretty much me done for the night." He looked at his watch. "I had better get going. You know the drill, reboot the systems when you need and keep watch of any trespassers in the establishment. I know you do a fantastic job."
He stood up, gathering his coat and wallet as Saphira watched him. "I'll see you tomorrow." He nodded with a quick wave before he left the office quickly. She heard him open the door and she muttered to herself. "The nightmare animatronics are coming this Friday." She tapped her finger on the desk before she grabbed a copy of the attraction map.
She knew that the loading dock was the only place that the animatronics would be delivered to. And they would be delivered here after midnight when the other employees have done home. She could not help but feel tempted to see if she could get a sneak peak of the animatronics, and maybe Afton himself. She doubted he would use his RAM to deliver the animatronics, unless it was needed to tow a large enough trailer to bring them if they were taller than the animatronics who were here currently. She doubted they would be too much bigger due to them needing to go through the doors of the facility.
Hmm…maybe if I hang around here on Friday…but they know my car. I would need to be smart.
Saphira knew she probably did not need to see the nightmare animatronics before Saturday, but this could give her an opportunity. Maybe even a way to track where Afton goes after the animatronics are delivered. Her parents had adopted a cat recently for her sister, and they purchased a few tracking devices to put on the collar in case the animal ever got out. Thankfully, each device would connect to only one device. She could set it up to her phone and she could figure out where Afton's base of operations is. It was an idea, but it was also risky.
I would need to figure out how and where I am going to plant the device…if it is in an obvious spot, Afton will send the Freddles after me.
With this information, Saphira would think it over the next few hours as the guests leave the attraction and the other employees clean and finish up for the night. She was happy she could get that time to herself with that knowledge. She wasn't going to say much about it though. She considered telling the animatronics, but the Freddles would be listening, and the last thing she wanted was for Afton to figure out her plan.
When the last employee left ten minutes until midnight, she decided to grab the tablet and stand up with her flashlight to make her rounds of the attraction. She hummed softly as she walked down the hallway to the loading dock and just as she was about to walk through the door, she heard voices inside. They sounded like whispers of teenagers. She leaned closer to the door, placing her ear against it to see if she could hear what they were saying.
"I can't believe no one has found us!" A young boy's voice said. "We've been here almost all night, and the workers just keep walking by us! I can't believe how stupid they are!"
A girl's voice could be heard giggling. "I know right?! This was a great idea! Now we can work out why people disappear when they trespass here."
"Are you sure this is even a good idea?" Another girl asked in a nervous tone. "I wanted to study to the exam tomorrow, Angela, I don't know why you wanted me to come if you wanted to ignore our schoolwork."
"Because I didn't want to be the only girl here, Lara!" Angelica responded in a snotty tone. "Besides, we could end up becoming famous by exposing what is going on here."
"I think everyone has gone home now too," A second boy spoke up. He had a slightly deeper voice than the first boy Saphira had heard. "The security guard will probably be in the office."
"I heard the security guard is a woman," A third boy said in a snarky, mocking tone. "I highly doubt it will be that difficult. I think a female security guard is a dumb it."
"I agree with you!" The first boy agreed with an arrogant snort. "If we can keep out of sight of all the other dumb workers, we can hide from one, little, night guard."
"But they can't hide from us." Saphira jumped when she heard Freddy's voice whisper behind her. She turned her and saw the bear animatronic with Springtrap beside him. "Fredbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy have gone the opposite side. We had wanted to come and say hi, but we had no idea these little kids were still hiding."
Saphira listened to him and whispered back to him. "That means you saw them around."
"They were troublemakers," Springtrap whispered his blunt response. "They were rather rude to the employees and made some distasteful remarks about us animatronics. They actually threatened to throw soda on the main stage in the dining room because Freddy was singing."
"You're kidding." He shakes his head and Saphira blinked in shock. "Well…that settles it…they sound like a nice group. Though one girl sounds like she didn't want to be here."
"We noticed that too," Freddy whispered, seemingly sad about what he was going to do. "She was the only one of the group who didn't do much. She only watched and seemed to be disappointed about her friends' behavior. It is sad she will have to be…well…she and her friends must be dealt with."
Saphira knew that would be the case, but she still felt bad that it would happen. She rubbed her hands nervously. "I…honestly was just about to…" She paused when she heard the teens inside begin to move.
"I think we have waited around enough," Angelica's impatient voice said loudly. "Hey, Miss Night Guard! You are very bad at your job." There was silence before there was a giggle. "Oh, look! There's a camera in the corner! Hey!"
Saphira couldn't help but get very irritated by the attitude of the teenagers. She glanced at Freddy and Springtrap with a frustrated frown and whispered to them. "Are the others on the other side yet?"
"They should be. I think we've run out of time anyway, so we can definitely stall these kids." Freddy gestured to the door. "You first, we will have your back."
Saphira was a little nervous. She didn't really want to confront the teenagers, only to see them be killed by the animatronics. While she was getting used to the fact that they needed to eat humans in order to survive, it still was not getting easier to watch. She took a deep breath and pushed open the door, shining her light inside as she looked at the five startle teenagers who look at her in shock as she looked at them. They were even more startled when they see Freddy and Springtrap behind her.
"I am a stupid night guard, huh?" Saphira said as she walked into the loading dock area, looking at all five teenagers. "But what does that make you? You, the kids who thought it was a good idea to hide in the attraction until it closed."
The teenagers were stunned. Saphira saw Lara, who was wearing a cute pair of purple glasses, denim jeans and a purple, long sleeved shirt and her red hair was tied into a bun. Angela is blonde, wearing a brown tank top and glittery shorts. The three boys had a similar appearance with dark brown hair and brown eyes, they wore unzipped jackets and jeans, though they were wearing different colored shirt underneath their jackets.
"So you're the security guard?" Angela asked bluntly as she got over the shock of being caught. She glanced at Freddy and Springtrap as they eye off the teenagers. "I've never seen Freddy get off his stage. A little odd that you have them behind you there."
Saphira simply smiled at the girl. "I am indeed the security guard. And you really should have gone home when the attraction closed. You five know this is a school night."
"And we will not come back again!" Lara said nervously with raised hands. "We promise..."
"Oh, shut it, Lara!" One of the boys snapped at the girl, slapping the back of her head. A response that made Saphira angry. "We will do what we want!"
"You don't have to hit me, Justin..." Lara rubbed the back of her head as Justin stepped forward, puffing out his chest to look bigger.
Saphira just raised an eyebrow at the cocky attitude from the boy. "You don't scare me kid." Justin smirked and reached for something on the shelves beside her. She saw he was trying to reach for a pair of pliers, but Freddy moved suddenly and the boy pulled his hand back with a shout of fear. "Yeah, you're a wimp. I don't know what you kids were thinking...but you really should have left." The door on the other side of the room opened, startling the teenagers as Fredbear stepped through the door first with Bonnie, Chica and Foxy behind him. Mangle and Phantom Mangle crawled in behind Saphira as they clung to the ceiling, making the kids huddle together. "I am not responsible for what happens next."
Saphira walked over to the side door to make sure it was locked, and one of the other boys ran towards the door, shoving her into the wall. Saphira yelped as her arm hit the corner of a fire extinguisher box, there was no cut, but it hurt. The boy tried opening the door, but it was locked. "What the hell?! Why's this door locked from the inside?!" He slammed his wrist on the door and turned to yell at Saphira, only to press his back against the door as Springtrap was standing right behind him. "Shit! Get Springtrap away from me! He scares the shit out of me every time."
"So why must you taunt the very thing you're afraid of?" Springtrap asked in a slow voice, surprising the teenagers that he could talk. "You and your friends have an awful lot to say, but you are all just talk." Springtrap stepped closer to the boy and he whimpered loudly. "You must feel so good pushing someone into the wall like that. Because I know deep down, you're nothing but a little, whiny, brat!" He lifts his fist and attempts to punch the boy. He ducked and ran around Springtrap, making him punch the door.
"Come on, don't be denting the door," Saphira said as she walked towards Fredbear, rubbing her side.
"Is this bitch serious?" Justin questioned in disbelief as he watched Saphira walk away casually. "You aren't going to care what these things are going to do?" She simply shrugged as she walked around Fredbear. "Hey! I am talking to you!"
"Wait, wait!" Lara shouted, running after Saphira and managing to get around the animatronics. "I am really, really sorry, okay? I never wanted to do this, those four did!" She glanced back as the door close behind her and she was shocked. "W-What is going to happen to them?"
"Just keep walking, Lara," Saphira responded to her bluntly as she walked towards the kitchen. She glanced at her tablet as the alerts go off and she hits reboot. "Even if you didn't want to do this, you do know you did not have to listen to the pressure. Having no friends is better than having bad friends."
"I guess…" Lara glanced back as she heard the sound of blood curdling screams from the loading dock. And she knew it was her friends. "What are they doing to them?!" She looked back as Saphira just kept walking and walked into the kitchen. "Don't you even care what is happening?" No response came from Saphira as she kept walking. "You're a bitch!"
Saphira rolled her eyes and turned to face the teen as the girl closed the door. "It isn't my fault that you decided to be little assholes and stay behind." She turned away from Lara and kept walking through the kitchen. "You seem like a nice girl, and this is unfortunate…"
She heard the sound of a knife being picked up and Saphira turned to see Lara holding one of the large kitchen knives. "That makes you some kind of murderer if those animatronics killed my friends!" She tried to slash Saphira, making her jump back in surprise and glared at the teenager. "I'm going to kill you!"
Saphira was rather alarmed at how quickly the girl became murderer. Lara lunged at Saphira with the knife raised, and Saphira jumped to the side, though the girl still tried slashing her and knocked off numerous pots and pans that fall onto the floor in a loud clash. She was a little afraid of the girl as the teen's face was full of rage and her eyes looked like they were black with rage. Saphira jumped had to avoid the girl until one of the other animatronics arrive.
And it didn't take long. Hearing the sound of the pots, Springtrap slammed open the door, entering the room with his hands covered in blood. He saw the teenager running at Saphira with the raised knife and he was shocked as all the animatronics had felt a sense of sadness knowing they had to kill this girl. But that completely disappeared for Springtrap as soon as he saw what was happening and he ran towards the girl.
Lara shrieked and stopped in her track when she saw Springtrap running at her. She dropped the knife and backed away, falling onto her backside and crawling backwards. Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie run into the kitchen as they had also heard the commotion. "Please don't kill me!" The girl pleads with Springtrap as the animatronic stomped towards her.
"Shut up!" The animatronic stomped on Lara's ankle, making it snap loudly and causing the teenager to scream. "You don't get to beg and cry after chasing the night guard with that knife! Now I have no obligation to show you any mercy!"
Saphira ran over to the kitchen door to check it quickly before running towards the door to the freezers and cool rooms, only to step on a rolling pin, making her lose her balance and fall hard on her tail bone. "Ow…" She groaned, Springtrap snapped his head around to look at her in shock. "I just landed on my tail bone." She placed her hands on her back as Toy Bonnie ran over to her. "I dropped the tablet…is it broken?"
Toy Bonnie picked up the tablet and showed it to Saphira. "You're in luck, there is no scratch or damage to it." Springtrap turned away from the teenager to walk over to Saphira, ignoring the teenager. Lara began to try and crawl away. "Are you good standing up?"
"Yep…" She looked at Springtrap as he stepped closer and she made a face at him. "Springtrap, your hands a covered in blood!" He glanced at his hands and looked back at her. "I know you're concerned, but you know I don't want you touching me with bloody hands." Springtrap smiled at her as Toy Bonnie helped her to her feet. "Just…go deal with that bitch…" She rubbed her back again with a grimace.
"I look after her Springtrap, you take care of that little human," Toy Bonnie said reassuringly to Springtrap before looking at Saphira. "Come, I think a little hot chocolate after all of this will do you some good." She nodded in agreement as she walked out of the kitchen to walk past the freezers and cool room.
Saphira knew that she had grown rather accustomed to this, and she does interact with trespassers if she is close enough for it. She was unsettled by how casual she was about the animatronics killing people, but she was getting very desensitized to it, even if she didn't particularly like that she was. She heard Lara screaming in the kitchen, and it sounded worse than the teenagers in the loading dock, making her cover her ears.
"I guess you weren't expecting the quiet one to snap and try to kill you, huh?" Toy Bonnie asked gently, making Saphira shake her head in response. "Eh…just another normal night…this time, a bunch of teenagers who decide to remain behind after dark. I wouldn't be surprised if someone does actually break into the attraction later."
Saphira looked at Toy Bonnie with a smile as she walked into the main dining. "I still can't believe that this is starting to feel normal for me…but I guess I am…getting used to it…that's why I think I'm a sociopath or something like that…because I don't feel a lot for people who get killed here anymore."
"I think it's more of seeing it so often, you're used to it. Besides, you know we need to eat, and that is why you are also turning a blind eye. Even if it makes you uncomfortable." He rubbed her back as she walked towards the front door. "But there is no shame in defending yourself, Saphira. You don't need to rely on us all the time."
"I know…I guess…I was just afraid of being stabbed by that girl." She couldn't help but glance around, a little jumpy now she had been chased by a random girl with a knife. "You guys are far less scary…oh, and speaking of, Mike told me the new animatronics are arriving this Friday. The nightmares are coming."
Toy Bonnie widened his eyes, though he seemed unsurprised. "That explains why some more work has been happening recently in the Bedroom of Nightmares. It is being prepared to welcome the animatronics who will be there during the day. Hopefully, they will be nice to you."
Saphira was hoping for that too. But she had her doubts at the moment, so she did not know if it would take a long time to even get to know the new animatronics, or if they would be aggressive. She had to wait to meet them first of course. Saphira knew that she wasn't going to judge them based on their appearance. She knew they'll look scary, but Springtrap was designed to be scary too and she walked up to him the first week he arrived. So she would certainly not judge the nightmare animatronics based on their appearance.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know I've been having bad spats with insomnia for a while, which is why I've only been able to put out one chapter a day, or every two days. I apologize if the quality of my writing has slipped, but I am still wanting to write and put out the chapters for all of my stories. Happy reading!
