As the Riders followed Enny's lead, they took the time to gaze at the land below and saw how vast it was compared to Berk or any land they'd seen in the past. This sparked their interest as they wanted to see everything this world has in store.
Even Fishleg despite his initial worries of this foreign world.
"So uh, how much farther until we get there?" Hiccup asked as he flew next to Enny,
"Not far," Enny replied, then spotted the perfect landing zone, "But we're gonna have to go there by foot,"
With a whistle, Enny's Wyvern descends and the others follow their lead. Once they've landed, they find themselves in some jungle biome and everyone looks around.
"Right this way, people," Enny instructed as she went to a cave,
The others follow and reach the other side of the tunnel. That's when they're introduced to another monster. They were like birds except they had blue scales with black stripes, dull red crests on their heads, a white belly, and sharp claws.
Everyone seemed alarmed as soon as these monsters spotted them, and Dragons growled as they stepped in front forward. Though Enny would stop them from breathing fire as she was the only one who remained calm towards these monsters.
With one whistle, her Wyvern breathes out a fireball right near the feet of the monsters and knocks them right into the air. Once they've fallen to the ground, they kick themselves up, shrieked once, and ran towards another cave.
"What were those things?" Hiccup asked,
"They're known as Velocipreys, small Bird Wyverns, and a native predator of these lands," Enny explained, "Apart from its sharp claws, it only becomes a threat when they hunt in packs. Even veterans aren't foolish enough to get themselves caught in the center,"
"Oh, great! And let me guess, these things paralyze people?" Snotlout rebuked,
"No, not this one particular pack hunter. Also, they don't have stingers like the Speed Stingers," Enny specified, "Just strong legs which allow them to move fast and leap forward. That is just common knowledge, and another thing about pack hunters,"
"There's always a leader," Fishleg guessed,
"Correct," Enny said, "And they're just right through that tunnel,"
"I reckon we'll find their nest there as well?" Eret questioned, and Enny nods as she gestured for the group to follow her,
Once they passed right through the tunnel, they were met with another area, and just ahead of them was a different monster. It may look like a Velociprey, but it was much big than the average Velociprey, its crest was large and redder, with larger claws with one being the biggest, and a large red talon claw on each foot.
When it sighted the group, it shrieked a few times, then lets out a particular roar across the area. The Dragons were now alarmed by this, then they each of them glared at their flanks and rear as several Velociprey emerged as they surround the group.
Toothless goes to the front and growls at the Alpha while Hiccup and the others were eyeing each Velociprey.
"That's a Velocidrome, the Alpha Raptor. They are stronger than the average Velociprey, serve as pack leaders of Velociprey, and their roars allow them to call upon their pack should they find their prey or when they're provoked in their own territory," Enny calmly explained, then she sensed something peculiar as she turned towards the tunnel they just passed, "And would you look at that,"
The Riders turn towards Enny's general direction and spotted another Velocidrome with a pack of its own and shriek towards the group. The Second Wave of Velocriprey soon joined up with the first and seemingly outnumbered them from the sides while the Second Velocidrome takes the rear.
"Um, you said that they're pack hunters, right?" Fishlegs nervously asked,
"Yes, why?" Enny inquired,
"Then why aren't they fighting each other?" Fishlegs asked,
"That's because Velocidromes follows the Strength in Numbers tactic. They don't fight for dominance, rather, they work for one common goal: Survival. Hence why they work together and not against each other," Enny specified, "This is why they're one of the vicious pack hunters of the Old World,"
A moment later, the two Velocidrome shrieked as they and their respective pack charged at the same time. The Riders stuck close to each other while the Dragon keeps them at bay with breath attacks.
Toothless decided to strike the first Velocidrome with a Plasma Blast while Skullcrusher fired toward the second Velocidrome. As expected, the Velocidrome were quick to move and react as they jumped back to avoid the blast and shrieked at their attacks.
As for the Velociprey, they were driven back by the other dragons quite easily and this led to a stalemate as the flames were seemingly intense for them to jump over. While the Dragons eyed Velocidrome's pack.
Enny decided to end it all by pulling out a whistle and blowing into it. It emitted a particular roar that caused the Velocidromes and Velociprey to feel distressed over it and retreated elsewhere. Once the pack was gone, the Dragons stand down while Enny hid her whistle away.
"What the heck was that?" Snotlout asked,
"A Whistle that emits a monster roar, one that scares them off," Enny remarked,
"That's terrifying but awesome!" Tuffnut said,
Enny then looks down at her watch and notices that there was still some time left to spare. Thus, she turned to the group, "It appears that we still have some time to spare. If you'd like, I'll take you all on a tour around this land. There is still so much to see in this biome and monsters to meet. And when we're done, I'll show you all where you'll be staying for the night,"
The Riders agreed since they retain some level of curiosity, though Snotlout wasn't convinced in the slightest, "Oh no! I ain't going nowhere with this place. If anyone of you wants to go, fine! I'm staying,"
Hookfang seems to agree with his rider, and Enny decided to be a bit sly on him, "If that's what you want, then go ahead. It's a shame because these lands happen to hold some of the riches minerals and wildlife you'll ever find,"
This caught Snotlout's attention and turns to her with a unconvinced look on his face. But Enny knew that he was tempted in finding these valuables, "And where do you suppose we'll find these things?"
"You said you wanted to leave, why would I tell you now?" Enny said,
"Oh! So that's how it's going to be. Fine! I'll stay, but if you don't show me where these things are. There will be trouble," Snotlout warned while Hookfang rolled his eyes,
"Noted," Enny said,
As for Hiccup and his friends, they sighed at Snotlout's response. The sentiment is also shared among their dragons,
"To think that she'd play him like that. I almost pity him," Gobber remarked,
"Indeed," Mala added,
With that, Enny provides a long tour around the jungle biome. She went into every detail of the natural resources they'd come across and demonstrated how they are harvested. When Gobber was given an Iron Ore that was mined within a crevice, he had determined that the quality was finer than the ores they'd find in their world.
As they exit the cave, they soon find themselves in a densely forested shoreline, and front of them was a sandy path that leads to the island up north. As the riders and dragons analyzed their surroundings, Astrid noticed something moving in the woods.
"What's that?" Astrid questioned,
Everyone turns in her direction and saw something blue walking around with a shell on its back.
"That almost looks like a Hermit Crab," Tuffnut commented,
"A very large Hermit Crab," Fishlegs specified,
"That's a Ceanateur," Enny revealed, "A Monster that belongs to the Carapaceon Class. The shell itself isn't found around these parts. Rather, it grew its shell,"
"It grew its shell?" Hiccup remarked,
"Indeed, but try to be careful when they burrow themselves into the ground. For they can wait for hours until their prey passes, jump right out of the ground, and strike," Enny stated, "Also, they spit out a small ball of poisonous fluid, so be careful about that as well,"
Just as she finished, they saw the Ceanateur dig itself under the ground, and hide in plain sight. From another angle, no one wouldn't be able to see this thing until they walked onto it. That makes them quite dangerous if they truly aren't careful with it.
But while some of them weren't looking, the Twins were at it again as they Ruffnut and Tuffnut riding what appears to be some large boar with large tusks.
"What are they doing?" Valka questioned,
"Riding a Bullfango. They're foul-tempered monsters that'll charge at everyone they set their eyes on," Enny revealed, then the twins were shaken right off of the Bullfango's back.
As they took their time to pick themselves up, the Bullfango kicked off some dirt and planned on charging at the twins. However, Barf and Belch dealt with the Buffalo by spraying its gas toward it and then igniting it which caught an explosion.
When the dust settled, they were soon met with a charred Bullfango lying on the ground. Enny went to the carcass and poked it a few times, then hummed as she turned to them, "Guess we're having Bullfango meat tonight,"
"Uh, what?" Rufftnut asked,
"Bullfangos aren't just aggressive monsters, they're also a food source for people and monsters alike," Enny explained before kneeling, and pulling out a carving knife in hand,
She then proceeds to carve the Bullfango much to the disgust of the people behind her and harvested raw meat as well as a few parts of the monster's body. As she stored them, she turns back to them, "I'm sorry for making you all see that, but I assure you that it's worth it once I've cooked it,"
"Yeah, sure. Whatever you say," Astrid remarked,
After that, they continued to explore the areas and Enny provided more details on what they found. When Heather noticed an abnormally large beehive, Enny explained that the honey exacted without issue.
She also explained that the honey inside is used for medical purposes as well.
When Ruffnut and Tuffnut caught a couple of weird-looking bugs in the area, Enny explained that the bugs they caught were a few Flash Bugs, Thunder Bugs, and Bitter Bugs.
She explained that Bitter Bugs are used for medicine as well while she demonstrated the Thunder Bug and Flash Bug to them. The Thunder Bug emits electricity as she applied some pressure on the bug, and the Flash Bug caused a flash of light that blinded the twins while the rest had to avert or shield their eyes from the light.
When the light dies down, the Twins momentarily blink and wandered around the area with arms stretched. They all tripped from roots and vines, hit themselves against trees, and bump into people. But Enny assured them that they'll regain their vision soon.
What interested them is how something as small as a bug could emit a variety of powers that may be considered equal to certain dragons. But Enny had an answer for that.
"Bio Energy?" Hiccup asked,
"It exists within all organisms of this world and it's also part of the Natural Ecosystem," Enny explained, "However, certain monsters of this world can accumulate a large amount of this energy by devouring lesser monsters. Particularly, the ones that stand above the Food Chain,"
Enny then pulled out a small sack from her back, dug into it, and pulled out what appears to be a crystal, "And this is one of them,"
Everyone marvelled upon seeing this crystal and Hiccup was the first to take it off her hands. As he gazed upon this crystal, he did not notice his friends gathering around him, "I don't believe it, this crystal almost feels like its alive,"
"That's Bio Energy in its purest form," Enny said as she took the crystal back, and stored it away, "Another story that we'll go to in time. All that matters is that it affects nature itself, why do you think certain bugs and ores are large and in finer quality?"
"That's... One way to put it," Fishlegs said,
Enny just smiled then she noticed Snotlout looking through a cracked crevice and trying to pull out a particular ore. She went to him and placed her hands against her hips, "What do you want in there?"
"Ah well, you know," Snotlout stammered and Enny just shook her head before pulling out a pickaxe,
She then mined the crevice a few times, and what Snotlout found was a golden stone piece. She picks it up and passed it to Snotlout, who proceeds to chuckle before pocketing the piece.
That's when Enny finds something odd among the group, "Oh great,"
Everyone noticed her expression and they looked around. That's when they knew that someone was missing.
"Where's Dagur and Mala?" Heather asked,
"Their dragons are gone too," Astrid added,
Enny just pinched the bridge of her nose while Eret was the first to ask, "I don't suppose you have something to track them with?"
"We could use Skullcrusher, he could track their scent if we have something of theirs," Stoick suggested,
"No need, I've got that handled," Enny assured as she pulled what looked like a small lantern, but it wasn't a lantern as a swarm of glowing insects emerged.
Everyone marveled at the glowing insects while the curious dragons attempted to take a bite of them. Unfortunately, they couldn't as they seemingly phased through the jaws of the dragons.
Moments later, they stopped at a particular location and Enny examined a set of footprints on the ground. Once she gathered enough, the swarm went east.
"What are those things?" Fishlegs asked,
"Scoutflies, they're used for tracking monsters so long as they've got the scent," Enny replied, "The same applies to people. Now come on, who knows what Dagur might pull out here,"
Meanwhile...
Mala, Shattermaster, and Sleuther watched from the sidelines as Dagur is in the middle of chasing small furry creatures around the area. Sadly, he couldn't catch one of them as these creatures are quite elusive and often hit him with their paw clubs when he's often.
"Why you little!" Dagur yelled as he stood up, "When I catch you, I'm going to wear your skin like a hat!"
Mala just giggled even though her husband is having trouble against these creatures. Before long, they were soon caught up by the group. Though they mostly find themselves confused upon seeing Dagur being bullied by these creatures.
"It seems like Dagur the Deranged has met his match," Enny remarked,
"Are those cats?" Astrid questioned,
"I doubt it, these cats walk on two legs and hold large paw-like clubs," Tuffnut doubted, then he smirked towards Ruffnut,
Without hesitation, the two lunged toward these cats. But their elusive nature kept them from the arms of both the Twins and Dagur himself. Two of them even grabbed the twins' helmets and made a run for it.
"Hey!" Ruffnut yelled,
"Get back here!" Tuffnut followed as he picked himself up, and chased after his helm,
Sadly, the cats would fit through holes and escape with the helmets. Tuffnut tries to follow them by crawling through the hole. Only to get stuck as he couldn't pull himself out.
Enny then grabs Tuffnut by the heels and pulled him out of the hole. As he picked himself up, he glared at the hole he swore, "When I find those things, I going to club it hard,"
"You are not clubbing any Lynians, not on my watch," Enny stated,
"Lynians? You know those tiny little beasts?" Dagur questioned,
"They're intelligent and humanoid felines of this World and what you just saw happens to be a Melynx. They're kleptomaniacs and will get the chance to steal whatever they can get their little paws on. Just like the twins and Snotlout as a Melynx is stealing the golden piece he just found," Enny explained,
"What?" Snotlout turned to the one side where he pocketed the ore, and saw a Melynx holding it, "Hey!"
The Melynx makes a run for it as Snotlout gives a chance and it was quite nimble as it went under Hookfang. Eventually, it escapes by digging a hole in the ground and dives right into it.
Snotlout grunts in anger while Astrid turns to Enny, "What do they do after they've stolen something? Do they use them as weapons, wear them, or do they just put them on a pile,"
"The latter, and where they live isn't far from here," Enny said as she used the scout flies to locate their little hideout, "But if it isn't there, then they would have sold it or traded it,"
"Oh no! That thing isn't going to sell my shiny!" Snotlout stated,
With that, Enny gestures the group to follow her and showed them a hole big enough for people to find it.
"Does that opening lead to their camp?" Hiccup suspected,
"Yep," Enny replied,
"I don't think everyone will fit in there," Gobber remarked,
"It's just a Wild Lynian Camp, they won't do anything harm to anyone," Enny said, "Also, you may stay out here while a handful of volunteers may go and see the Lynian Tribe,"
As expected, the ones who volunteered to see the tribe are Hiccup, Astrid, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Snotlout, and Heather.
Hiccup wanted to see these Lynians himself and Astrid wishes to accompany him for obvious reasons, Snotlout and the Twins want to visit the tribe to retrieve what was stolen from them, and Heather's reasons are due to Dagur as he bears a bit of a grudge against them and she's quite curious to meet this tribe.
They all crawled their way through a narrow tunnel and soon reached the Lynian Tribe. They were surprised as they sighted the pile of items. But that's when Snotlout and the twins scavenge their way through the items while Hiccup, Astrid, and Heather paid close attention to the Lynians.
Heather would bend down as a Felyne approached her and gave a few scratches under its chin. It purred while a few more Felynes gathered towards Hiccup and Astrid.
"I've got to say, these things are quite cute," Astrid remarked,
"You're telling me and look at their weapons, just imagine what they could do if they're aggressive," Hiccup said then feels a tug on his prosthetic leg,
As he looked down, he pulled his leg back and he saw a Melynx eye on his leg. Though Enny would draw its attention with something in her hand,
"As I said, Lynians are intelligent creatures. Quite similar to that of humans," Enny said as she lay down with a few Felynes and Melynx gathering around her, "But some would often leave their natural home and co-exist with humans. Think of them as small and furry Terrible Terrors,"
"And what's that thing you're holding?" Astrid asked,
"If you recall Dragonnip, Then you may say this is Catnip," Enny said as more and more of the Lynians surround her,
"Found it!" Ruffnut and Tuffnut said as they pulled their helmets above their heads, and wore them once more,
As for Snotlout, he grunts in frustration as he had lost his gold, "It isn't in here!"
"Then I'm afraid it's long gone by now. But don't worry, there's more of that than what you find here," Enny said while Snotlout still seems frustrated,
By the end of this encounter, Enny had called off the tour and had everyone on their dragons as they head to a certain place to rest. But not after Dagur received an apology gift from the Melynx: A Velocidrome Claw.
"It seems we've been on the wrong foot. For that, I'll accept your apology," Dagur said while the Melynx bowed and ran off,
After that, they departed from the Jungle.
Short Timeskip...
The Riders continued to follow Enny and the latter opens what appears to be a large portal big enough for everyone to come in. After they've passed through the portal, the riders find themselves in another foreign land with several large trees and an open area where a large lodge is seen.
As they landed, Enny makes her way up to the front of the lodge and spread her arms as she introduced her home to the riders, "Welcome to my home! Feel free to go in with your dragons and make yourselves comfy while I prepared tonight's feast. But try not to make a mess around here,"
The Riders were once again in awe over the size and quality of the lodge. Though Gobber was more in awe than the rest of them, "Now that is a house,"
Before long, the Riders of Berk rushed their way to the lodge while the others followed suit. As for Enny's Wyvern, it went to its stable and feasted upon its meal once more.
Inside the lodge, Everyone expressed their opinions on the interior and it looked rather big compared to the exterior. The hall was large to fit an entire village of people, and a large table that can hold several banquets at once.
As they took the riders took their seats, the Dragons just lay down on the floor. Enny then returns as she appears at the end of the table, and spread her arms as two portals are opened, "Everyone, Dinner is served!"
On cue, several Lynians appeared with large trays of food and everyone was surprised at how a bunch of Lynians could carry such weight so easily. What follows is them placing the trays onto the tables and taking off the lid afterward.
They were awestruck by the sight of deliciously cooked food, and some didn't hesitate to eat on the spot. Though Enny didn't mind the table manners since they're Vikings and all that, instead she went for a fact, "A little-known fact about the Lynians is that some possessed talents that even people in this world find appealing. The Culinary Arts is one of them,"
"Huh, I had no idea that such creatures would make something so delicious," Fishlegs said before joining the others,
"Indeed, though I should warn you. Since Lynians are Feline Creatures, they sometimes have the tendency to-" On cue, Tuffnut was in the middle of coughing on his food before digging his fingers into his mouth. Before long, he pulled out what appeared to be a small strand of shredded cat hair, much to the disgust of everyone present, "Shed like regular cats,"
Enny then used her powers to locate every strand of hair on the food, lift them up, and make them disappear before the riders' eyes. As the Riders continue to eat, Enny provides large platters of food to the dragons.
Particularly the fishes that exist in the Old World. All of the dragons were deeply impressed by the food they'd been given and hungrily ate it all down to the bottom of the platter.
In just an hour, the bellies of Enny's guests were all filled and the trays were taken by Lynians soon afterward.
"Oh man, it almost feels like I'm in paradise, right now," Tuffnut commented,
"You can say that again, though it'd be paradise if you weren't around," Ruffnut remarked,
The twins would punch at each other while Stoick was the first to stand, "On behalf of everyone on this table, I thank you for serving such an astounding meal. I could still feel the taste lingering in my mouth,"
Stoick's family and friends chuckled at his comment, then Gobber went to ask an important question, "That reminds me, where we'll be sleeping? I don't mind having a place of my own, but I'm quite curious about what you've prepared for us,"
"Though you'd never ask," Enny said, then gestured for everyone to follow her,
The Dragons would follow them as soon as they finished digesting the food in their bellies. Though the larger dragons were forced to stay behind as they couldn't fit to the rooms of their riders.
They walked down some stairs and they soon find themselves in a hallway with several doors. Some were single doors while others are double doors.
"Oh, I call dibs on that room!" Ruffnut yelled,
"No way! I call dibs on that room!" Tuffnut argued, then the two engaged in a fight,
"No one is calling dibs on any rooms. For I've already arranged these rooms beforehand," Enny then waved her hand towards the hall and several dragon insignias appeared on the front, "These insignias will show which rooms you'll be sleeping in,"
With that settled, everyone went to their designated room. The Married Couples were given a shared room while the rest were headed in single rooms. Once all doors are closed, Enny turns around and walks towards the stairs.
She would soon leave the lodge and went to her Wyvern as it patiently waited for her. She firmly pressed her hand against its beck and smiled before hearing it chirp; which Enny clearly understood as she nodded her head with her eyes closed, "I know, but don't worry. I'll tell them tomorrow, I promise,"
Her Wyvern purred and then lies down on the ground. Enny then pulls out a blanket, rests her head against her Wyvern's leg, and slept while the Yian Garuga curls itself around her.
With the day finally over, tomorrow will come with the next monster in mind: The Yian Garuga.
I'm aware that the Velocidrome explanation is a bit short, and may be a bit inaccurate. But I will try to keep things interesting such as having Dragons confront these monsters and see how they fare against them. Also, I compared the sizes of the Night Fury and the Yian Garuga, The latter appears to be larger than the former as the adult size is 46 feet on average while Toothless' Size is 26 feet.
As for the next chapter, I will not only include the Ecology of the Yian Garuga I will also include the weapons (Old and New), The Customs of the Old World, and give Enny's Yian Garuga a name just like all the Dragons of the HTTYD Franchise.
That is all I have to say, stay safe from the virus, and I will see you all in the next chapter!
