At Helicopter before coming to Academg
1 week after the entrance exam Koyo and other students who passed the entance exams sat inside of a helicopter en route to his new school Duel Academy. Some students choose to travel by a ship but Koyo choosed air travel because he hates long sea travels which can give him travel sickness. Some students like Chumley were sleeping, while some were looking and enjoying the view, and the others were looking at their deck. Koyo wad sitting next to Misawa who was suprise to see Koyo being admitted to Ra Yellow since he assumed the former would be a Obelisk due to his skills being akin to a Pro, and both of them became good friends and they were looking at each others deck and are looking forward to duel new people.
A ding dong sound came from the speakers on the aircarft, all the passengers looked up from what they were doing.
"Attention new students this is your captain speaking, if you look right you will see your new home Duel Academy and we will be landing within 30 min, so I request all the passengers to fasten your seatbelts until we landed". Most of the students did as they were ordered, looking happy and excited to see their new school through the window screen.
After 4 hours of flying Koyo, Misawa, and all the students finally landed at the main building area and took their bags from overhead compartments and followed the line out of the plane.
Outside the main school building
As they arrive they saw a group of teachers and academic staffs standing which also includes Chronos, and Midori. In the middle of the group standing was a older bald man in his 40ties-50ties and he had a grey goatee and his eyes are shinning and he was smiling kindly
"Good Morning everyone, I am Principal Samejima the head of this school and welcome to Duel Academy". His voice rang across the crowad and cheers from new students rang into the sky.
" I know you all must be very tired, now you all can settle and get some rest at your dorms and make sure you attend the Welcome Ceremony which will began after 6 hours". Smaejima finished with a chuckle. He knows that all the new students who have just arrived at the island are feeling exhausted and they just feel like jumping straight into their beds. So he decided to not prolong the assembly and hope they find their assigned dorms comfortable.
The students then left the main building area and headed off to their dorm room assignments and took their keys from registration. Koyo was checking his PDA a silver hand held gadgets which is similar to a phone, and it contains his ID, grades, and details of his dorm etc.
"Well looks like I am in room number 59". Koyo said while turning of his PDA.
"Well looks like we're neighbours, and my room number is 60". Misawa chuckled while looking at Koyo.
"That sounds great, I can't wait to see how our dorm looks". Koyo is happy that he and Misawa are neighbours and they both can spend anytime they want.
"So are you ready to head over to the dorm ?. Misawa asked simply.
Before the boys could leave they were interuppted by a voice.
"Hey Koyo and Misawa which dorm are you both in is it red". The boys turned back to see Chumley rushing to them.
"Lets see, yellow blazer and buttons. Nope". Misawa chuckled while describing his uniform
"Actually we're in Ra Yellow, but my sister is the head of your dorm Chumley". Koyo informed to Chumley.
"Wait your sister teaches here Koyo". Misawa was suprised to know that Koyo has a older sister who teaches here and is the head of Slifer Red dorm, and he also realize that Koyo didn't get into Obelisk because of potential controverises.
"Yes her name is Midori Hibiki and she has been teaching for last 3 years, she can be stern but she's also very cool and understanding". Koyo explained to his friends
Chumley hoped that Midori will be like Koyo and he has no idea about dorm ranking system, and Koyo and Misawa has to explain everything to him. The trio then decide to head back to their dorm and left the main building area and hoped to meet at todays welcoming ceremony. Koyo went with Misawa while Chumley went on the other sides of the island.
At Ra Yellow Dorm
The Ra Yellow dorm look like a simple house on the outside, but inside its very clean and equipped with basic luxury, which students find comfortable to stay despite the dorm not being lavish or big as Obelisk but its still 1000 times better than Slifer Red dorm.
Koyo and Misawa walked inside and found their dorm rooms next to each other. When they unlock the door they found out their room is a fairly-sized bedroom with the bed being next to the window, the room also has a study desk with a chair, a cupboard to store their clothes and drawers to store their essentials, a small fridge, and a full-lenght mirror with the bathroom near the entrance.
Both the mens are happy with their room since it just feels like there home. They then decide to arrange there room and then go for a dorm tour before the welcoming ceremony starts.
Koyo unpacked his things and arranged his entire room for about 2 hours then he took a quick shower for about 20 min and changed into his Ra Yellow uniform. Unlike most of the students his blazer is white color with yellow lines, and he wore a black bants and yellow boots.
He then left his room and met up with Misawa in the corridor, and together they took a tour around the dorm. The dorm has a student lounge and inside the lounge there are 4 types of vending machine which consists of snacks, soft drinks, carbonated beverages, and ramen. The lounge also has space for the boys to play video games with their friends. The dorm also has a large living room, hot spring where students can relax and bath with their friends, cafeteria, movie theater, and also a large spacious kitchen where they can dook together and the kitchen is mostly used by their dorms head master Professor Sartyr who is a expert in cooking and his skills are equivalent to world class chef. But when it comes to the dueling arena the Ra students are permitted to use the Obelisk dorm duel arena for practice.
After the tour the boys decide to leave the dorm and head to the campus for tour so that they can arrive on time for the ceremony.
Obelisk Girls Dorm
The Obelisk Girls dorm is situated next to the boys dorm and both the genders can socialized with each other any time they want. The dorm looks like a castle outside and inside it looks like a seven star hotel. The dorm is reserved for elite or rich student who have connection and it is the biggest out off all three dorms. The service are akin to a seven-star hotel.
Anna arrived at the dorm a bit earlier than Koyo while Yunna arrived yesterday. As Anna arrived at the dorm many girls were staring at her with admiration and some with envy. She didn't like the way they look at her but she tries to ignore them and pretend she didn't care. She then met with Yuna who guided her to her bedroom, and her room is opposite to Yuna. After Anna unlocked the door, she wasn't suprise to see it was a en-suite bedroom and is similar to a seven-star hotel. Like all the Obelisk she has a king-sized bed, a large balcony where she can enjoy the island view and get some fresh air, A large 3D TV which hanged in a wall and is in front of her bed, a couch and a small coffee table situated front of the bed, a study table with a chair, a vanity stand with a mirror and next to it there is a small fridge and a coffee station where she can make her hot beverages, a walking closet and a full-lenght mirror with a bathroom near the entrance.
After taking some rest for few hours, she then decide to hang out with Yuna and Ryo before the welcoming ceremony. As she left her room she saw Ryo was struggling to unlock her door and decide to give the girl a hand.
"Need a hand with that?". Anna asked casually
Ryo turned around and gratefully smiled at Anna. "Yeah that would be great, and this dam key doesn't appear to turn the right way". Ryo replied ruefully.
"The trick is a piece of cake here let me show you". After Ryo handed the key , Anna quickly unlock the door demonstrating the process.
"Thanks you're a life safer, by the way are we neighbours?. Ryo thanked Anna and then ask if they are girl next door.
"Well don't expect me to show mercy in duels. Yes I am in the room next door to yours, so feel free to stop by and ask me anything you want". Anna replied kindly.
"Why is their only a girls dorm for Obelisk and not for Ra and Slifer?. Ryo asked to his neighbour
"Our school doesn't have too many girls compared to boys so they decide to keep all the girls regardless off who they are in Obelisk, but I am pretty sure by the next few decades it will change". Anna explained to her.
Both Ryo and Anna agreed that Duel Academy has unfair sex treatment. The boys are treated differently based on there dorm rank, while all the girls weather they're skilled or weak duelist and student or come from a rich or middle class family get to enjoy all the luxuries of a top student.
Ryo intially wanted to chill at her room alone until the welcoming ceremony but she then changed her mind and decide to hang out with Anna. The girls then decide to take a tour around the dorm with Yuna before heading to ceremony.
At Duel Academy Welcome Ceremony
After touring the entire campus with Misawa, Koyo found himself in a classroom which is similar to lecture hall, and he also noticed all of his classmates are wearing different uniform. But when he turned around he saw Chumley who was taking a nap dressed in uniform similar to him but the yellow lines are replaced with red, while all the students from his dorm are wearing yellow blazer and black pants, he saw a group of boys wearing blue trench coat, some are wearing red blazers, and all the girls wearing white sleeveless blouse and blue mini-skirt.
A few minutes later Samejima appeared on giant screen before the students, reintroducing himself to them and he then explaines the rules and regulation to them before disappearing.
After 1 hour ceremony, the classroom is filled with laughter and to much off noise and the students were having a friendly talk and introduce themself to their new classmates.
Koyo was enjoying talking with his classmates, and got lost in his thoughts, to the point where he can only think about their talks, which also caused him to accidently bumped into Yuna.
"I am so sorry, please forgive me ". Koyo bowed and apologize to her nervously.
However Yuna gave a angry glare to him and her expression looks like she wants to murder him. "Sorry my foot you better watch yourself properly before bumping into me". Yuna replied angrily giving him a death glare. She loves to keep herself clean and hates when a slifer or Ra accidently bumps into her.
"You don't have to overreact Yuna". Both Koyo and Yuna turned to see Ryo walking towards them with her arms crossed and she apologize to Koyo on Yuna's behalf, but he gladly forgave her.
Yuna then had a change of heart and apologize to Koyo for being a jerk.
" Hibiki-kun your duel with Chronos-sensei was impressive and I am looking forward to challenge you one day". Ryo complimented Koyo for kicking Chrono's ass and hoped to challenge him someday.
" Sure I will". Koyo replied back with a smirk".
" If you want to earn my respect then you 'll have to prove it to me through a duel". Yuna said nonchantly. Unlike Ryo and Anna, Yuna looks down on Slifer and Ra but she found Koyo's entrance exam duel impressive despite disliking him at first and she is willing to forgive and give him a chance because she likes to get along with worthy opponents who are strong and rich, hoping to seduce them for her selfish needs.
Koyo accepts her challenge with a grin and decide to leave with Misawa and go to the duel arena to see if their is a duel taking place. Before he left he ask the girls their names and both of them introduce themself to Koyo and he recognize Fujiwara and Ryo as one of top girls who scored top in both written and paratical exam.
With Misawa and Koyo
Both the boys were walking around the campus and decide to go to the duel arena to see if there is a duel taking place.
"Wonder what's inside". Koyo thought to himself as he was about to head to the arena.
"Hurry up Koyo, their is a awesome duel taking place, and we might miss it if we don't go on time". Misawa was approaching fast while Koyo was hanging behind.
The boys veered to the left into a vary large room. The room was huge akin to a stadium, there were many stands around the wall, and large platforms with wires coming out of the bases.
"This is one of the best duel arena I have ever seen". Misawa said while looking around the surroundings.
"Thats true". Koyo said and then he became worried about something "But do you think they'll allow us".
"Wrong this is Obelisk Blue campus and no slifer slackers and Ra Yellows are allowed".
They all truned their heads to see a. pair of teenage boys dressed in blue blazer walking towards them and the pair introduce themself as Torimaki and Raizou. They are Slade Princeton's lackeys.
"Is that so, you might be a elite but you don't own this school". Koyo gave them a befitting reply and he didn't like the way they were badmouthing him and the Slifers.
"You guys have separate arena so why don''t you search for yourself". Raizou snarled.
Miswa turned around and apologize to them, but Koyo shrugged and decide to challenge them to a duel. Before they could begin a voice interrupted them.
"Wait a mintue... You are that kid!"
Before any of them could ask what he meant, Torimaki turned his head "Hey Slade the guy who beat Dr. Chronos is here". He called out.
Both the Ra Duelist turned to see a tall boy with pale, and black hair. He is dressed in standard Obelisk uniform, and coldly looking at Koyo.
Koyo waved at the new kid, "Hello there, I am Hibiki Koyo and you must be slude". Slade growled while Misawa began to laugh his ass off.
"Its Slade Princeton". Slade rudely correted his name to Koyo.
"Hibiki Koyo, Its a shame you end up being in Ra instead of Obelisk, you think you can hog my spotlight as a king. Their is only one King at Duel Academy and that's me Slade Princeton". Slade boasted arrogantly. He is proud of his status as the Top Obelisk student and is jealous that Koyo might overshadow him.
Both the Ra students hate Slades's arrogance, and Misawa got offended and attempt to challenge him to a duel and his expression looks like he want to pick a. fight with him but Koyo manage to calm him down.
"Impossible". Koyo scoffed with his arms crossed.
"Maybe you just win with your luck". Slade snorted ignoring Koyo's comment. I had say why don't we find it out through dueling.
"Bring it on, after all everything is solved with dueling". Koyo snarled with a grin.
Both Koyo and Slade went to the platform and got their duel disk ready, but before they could start dueling, the were interupted by a voice.
"Well looks like this is going to be a bully crew". said a female voice.
They all turned around to see another Obelisk student Anna Rhodes walking towards them. She maintain a stoic expression while glaring at them with her arms crossed
"Wow she' s very beautiful". Misawa whispered loudly. He fell in love with Anna's beauty.
"Hey Anna are you coming to cheer me on and watch our duel?". Slade smirked and asked her sarcastically.
Anna ignored him and reminded them to attend the Obelisk Welcome Dinner.
"Well Chronos-sensei is looking for you three and I came to remind you guys that the Obelisk welcome dinner is about to start, now hurry up and get going".
"Oh yeah... Come on guys lets go". Slade leapt over the railing and into the arena floor, Anna shook her head as three of them left the arena.
Anna turned around the Ra students and apologize to them on Slades's behalf. "I am sorry about it you guys, not us all the obelisks are like that...Its just Slade is a cocky jerk, especially towards Slifers". But Koyo isn't bothered by their arrogance.
"Ah...Its no big deal".
"Huh?". Anna looked at Koyo suprised with his reaction.
Koyo shrugged, "Slade and his goons don't bother me and besides I can defeat him in one turn".
"Well two turns or maybe two and half turn". Anna giggled. "Hey what's so funny?"
Anna shook her head as she stop. "Nothing just forget about it. Oh yeah the Ra welcome dinner is about to start, so you guys better get going before its too late". Anna warned them.
Both Koyo and Misawa were in jogging mode. "Well looks like we better go, before the others finish our share". Misawa said jokingly.
Just before they were about to leave, Koyo stopped and turned back to the Queen of Obelisk asking her name. "Oh whats your name miss?". He called out
Anna blinked once and gave a small smile, "Anna Rhodes and yours?."
"Koyo Hibiki, see you around". he replied and with that he and Misawa left.
"Looks like this is going to be a fun year". Anna said to herself before she left to her dorm.
Slifer Red Welcome Dinner
Unlike the Obelisk and Ra Welcome dinner, the slifer welcome dinner isn't good and their food was very simple which consist of small bowl of rice, sardine with some sauces, and small chopsticks. The students were seated in their dorm cafeteria which is decorated with wooden furnitures.
Many students are not happy with their food including Chumley who wished to have grilled cheese sandwiches.
"This is our welcome dinner". One boy said to no one in particular
"The food is so plain and bland, I was hoping they give us grilled cheese sandwich with hot sauce". Chumley complained.
Midori then appear and her appearance has attracted many young boys. She is a beautiful tall young woman with fair skin, long black hair, and dressed in red trench coat and a mini skirt.
"Hello Children I am Midori Hibiki the head of your dorm. She greeted with a kind smile. "Now before we began eating , I would like you all to introduce"...Before she could continue she was interupted by Chumley.
"The food is delicious, welI I shouldn't judge a book by its cover". Chumley began stuffing the food inside his mouth, while everyone else was gawking their food.
"Chummley I think she wants you to say something". A boy said to him, while trying to stop him from eating. "She's walking over here". The boy tried to warn him. Midori now stood over them.
"Well since some of us can't wait... She said with a scowl. "Lets eat".
Obelisk Welcome Dinner
The Obelisk welcome dinner was like a seven-star hotel fancy party and it was held in the girls dorm banquet hall. Both the girls and boys are mixed together and they have buffet style internatinal gourmet foods, punch bowls, and classical songs played by the school band in the background.
Chronos the head of boys dorm, and Emi Ayukawa the head of girls dorm introduce themself to their students and welcome them with a toast.
The students were seated and eating in a rounded table which is covered in a silk white table cloth, and is decorated with flowers and candels similar to a wedding reception.
Anna was seated and eating with Taku, Roy, and Yuna in a rounded table. While Slade and his lackeys were eating in a separate table.
Ra Yellow Welcome Dinner
The Ra Yellow Welcome Dinner isn't lavish as Obelisk, but the students still have good foods similar to restaurant, bistro, and a buffet meal. They have varities of cuisine's which are arranged in buffet, including varities of drinks and deserts. The headmaster of their dorm was the one who cooked it.
Koyo and Misawa took their seats along with the rest of the students at one of the large six tables. The tables are covered in simple greren cloth and are decorated with simple candles
"Welcome amigos I am Professor Sartyr the head of your dorm... Now before we dig in I would like you all to give a brief introduction to yourself. He spoke in a Spanish accent and he appears to be a middle aged man in his 50ties and dressed in a yellown trench coat.
Misawa was the first one who started to introduce himself and he confidently stood up from his seat. "I am freshman Daichi Misawa, and I am known as the science and mathematics genius." Then Koyo stood up and introduce himself, after that everyone continue to introduce themselves, after the introductions was over, the feast start and many boys began to enjoy the meal and were having fun eating to much.
After 1 hours of eating, everyone felt full including Koya and Misawa and some almost passed out. Both Koyo and Misawa along with some boys took a stroll outside their dorm ground, in order to burn some fats and calories..
Sartyr doesn't allow his students to step out of their room after 10:30 pm during weekdays, but since its their first day he allowed all of his students to do whatever they want.
After 1 hour of walking Koya and Misawa decide to take a bath at hotspring before going to bed. The hotspring of Ra Yellow is in a small bathouse, and its not big like Obelisk but its still a favorite spot for many boys to relax. Both the boys went to the changing room carrying their bath supplies and PJ, removed their uniform and changed into a piece of towel which covers their private parts . They then went to the pool and relax, while some boys were sitting outside the pool and taking a shower.
After 2 hours of having a relaxed bath, the boys went back to the changing room and changed into their PJ. Koyo was glad that their are no girls in his dorm, and he can live in the dorm freely without any stress or tension. He used to be a chick magnet when he was in middle school, and he hopes no girls in Academy will come running behind him. Many girls in his middle school admired him for his posh dueling skills, good looks and his tall height. He rembered during his swiming class back in middle school one of his fangirl was taking a pitcure of him dressing, luckily he managed to caught and take a strict action against her before it becomes viral.
After bath, Koyo and Misawa were walking in hallway and talked about the fun they had and they wished each other goodnight before going back to their rooms for sleep
After Koyo came to his room he decide to call Midori, but then check on his phone screen it was already midnight, and he decide to meet her in-person the next day since she might be sleeping and he doesn't want to disturbed her and went back to sleep.
Notes
Their is no duel for todays chapter and its a Koyo centric chapter and focuses on him settling down. I planned to add more interaction with Koyo and Midori but then I feel it wouldn't make sense to add this scene out of nowhere.
The welcoming ceremony scene was really lame to write, especially the way I made Koyo interact with Yuna and Ryo. I honestly feel their interaction doesn't make sense.
Next chapter is going to be a Anna centric one.
The next upcoming chapters are going to be shorter.
