Duel 64: Flying Close to the Sun
"Ha!" Yubel chuckled, stretching their arms above their heads. "That was quite fun," They said walking away from the crumbling Brron. "Now I need to find that little brat and take him out," They said closing their eyes and spinning around the castle courtyard. "Ah!" They said opening their eyes in a random direction. "There you are."
"We need to find an exorcist, or someone versed in removing demons. Who knows what'll happen to Rose if we let that demon just run her body." Yuko said.
"Hmm?" Yubel said, raising an eyebrow. "That would be quite a bad thing to do," They said, flying into Yuko's face. "Wouldn't want to harm Rose's mind now would you?" They smirked.
Yuko steeled herself. "We'll find a way. Exorcism isn't that hard, you just need to know what you're doing."
Chazz was less subtle and decided to grab Yubel's shoulder and spin them around to punch them in the face. A black tendril snaked out of Yubel's shadow and wrapped around Chazz's fist before it could connect. "So violent," Yubel chuckled, throwing Chazz across the courtyard. "And did you really forget what Rose could do?" They laughed, flapping their wings and floating up. "Well I'm off to go take down that little brat so me and Rose can leave this infernal dimension, ta-ta~!" They laughed flying away.
"...Why does that demon have a man's voice?" Syrus asked.
Chazz sat up. "Well mark me down as scared and horny," He mumbled.
"Guys we have to stop that thing before it kills Jesse," Alexis said as she started climbing to the top of the castle walls. "Come on we need to find out where it went."
"Right!" The group agreed, scrambling to the top as well.

"I fixed it!" Bastion yelled in happiness as the generators sparked to life.
"Bastion?! I finally found you my boy!" Eisenstein yelled excitedly.
"Yes I have managed to re-establish a connection to the energy rift," Bastion explained. "However I don't know if I can aim us towards our dimension."
"Not to worry!" Eisenstien said back. "Our initial attempt has allowed me to make a stable permanent rift, even if you can't make a stable jump directly to me you can now continue to jump as long as you need till you find the correct coordinates!"
Bastion smiled tiredly. "That's wonderful," he said looking back at the spirit gates. "I'll work on a better switch so we don't have to fry Lime and our generators every time."
"...Ok then," Eisenstien said, confused. Bastion just shrugged and pulled out his PDA.
"Axel, Jim," Bastion said into it.
"Yeah?" Jim said back.
"I need you to go find the rest of the group," He explained. "We can't make the jump without them."
"We're on it," Axel said, closing his PDA and sliding down from the roof to the ground with Jim beside him. "Finding them is gonna be hard though," Axel admitted as they set out into the wasteland.
Jim shook his head. "Maybe, but I have something to make it easier."
"Jim, as nice as Shirley is, I don't think she'll be able to track through this mess," Axel said.
"Not her," Jim said, unwrapping his bandages, revealing a large artificial eye that housed an uncut green stone. "This."
"What is that?" Axel said, looking at Jim's face.
"It's called the Eye of Orichalcum," Jim explained. "I was given it by an old odd-eyed shaman after I lost mine saving Shirley, it lets me see spirits and people's auras, and Rose and Yuko's are lit up like a Christmas tree," He said pointing off in the distance. "Right over there."
"Then there's no time to waste," Axel said, summoning his 'Volcanic Rocket'. "Get on," He said, climbing on and extending a hand to Jim. Jim grabbed it and climbed up as Rocket took off at full speed.

"There you are," Yubel smirked as they saw a large ruin made of sand in the middle of a lava moat with a certain blue haired man standing on top.
"And there you are," Night-Jesse said back smirking.
"You have been quite a thorn in my lovely's side," Yubel said, landing in front of him. "And I will make sure you are put in a deep dark grave so you can never bother us again," they said grinning madly.
"Well one of us will certainly end up in a grave," Night-Jesse countered, activating his duel disk. "And the other will end up with what we both desire."
Yubel raised their eyebrow. "So you knew Bron's cards wouldn't work?" They asked, walking to the other side.
"Oh it would have made one," Night-Jesse said back. "It wouldn't have been strong enough for what YOU wanted," He said chuckling. "-But for me it would have been enough."
"And what do you want?" Yubel asked.
"Ah ah ah," Night-Jesse said wagging his finger with a smirk. "You won't catch me monologuing." He said, drawing his card. "I set two cards and end my turn."
"Oh well," Yubel shrugged. "Worth a shot," They said, drawing their first card. "I set one monster and three cards and end my turn."
"Oh?" Night-Jesse smirked, drawing his card. "Nothing good? Oh well, I activate 'Advanced Dark'," He said placing his field spell down, shrouding his entire side of the field in a black haze. "Now all my 'Crystal Beasts' are treated as Dark types on the field and in the graveyard."
"Interesting," Yubel said, crossing their arms with a bored face. "What now?"
"I summon 'Sapphire Pegasus (1800/1200)," Night-Jesse said, summoning his beast that was then surrounded by the haze that forced black armor onto its body. "Now I'll add 'Emerald Turtle' to my spell zone and send 'Pegasus' to attack your facedown, and since I attacked using a 'Crystal Beast' I'm able to special summon 'Rainbow Dragon, the Zenith Crystal Beast (3000/0) from my hand."
Yubel smirked as 'Pegasus' rammed into her facedown 'Clayman' (800/2000). "200 damage to you."
"Oh no," Night-Jesse chuckled. "I activate 'Advanced Dark's' effect, I send a 'Crystal Beast' from my deck to the grave and I take no battle damage, so goodbye 'Cobalt'."
"Hmm very well," Yubel said.
"And now 'Zenith' will attack your 'Clayman'."
"Ah!" Yubel grinned as their monster was destroyed. "There we go, I activate 'Hero Counter' now you get to pick a card and if it's a 'Elemental HERO' I get to summon it and destroy one of your cards," They said, flourishing their hand. "So pick a card, any card."
"The leftmost one," Night-Jesse answered.
"Wrong choice," Yubel laughed. "Here comes 'Elemental Hero Avian (1000/1000) and say goodbye to your 'Zenith'."
"It doesn't matter because he goes to the spell zone," Night-Jesse responded. "And now I'll activate 'Crystal Conclave' to summon 'Topaz Tiger' (1600/1000) to attack your 'Avian' and he gains an extra 400 attack (Tiger: 1600-2000/1000)."
Yubel snorted. "Persistent little brat," They said as 'Avian' was ripped apart. (Yubel LP: 8000-7000). "Well it doesn't matter, 'Hero Signal' here will punish you for your overconfidence by letting me bring out 'Burstinatrix' (1200/800)."
Night-Jesse laughed again. "You're the overconfident one, I'll end my turn by activating 'Crystal Rageki' to send my 'Emerald' to the grave to destroy your 'Burstinatrix'."
Yubel glared as their monster was destroyed again. "Well well well, maybe you aren't as bad as I thought," They said drawing their card. "I activate 'Skyscraper' and summon 'Elemental Hero Captain Gold' (2100/800), 'Captain Gold' attack 'Pegasus'!"
Night-Jesse smirked as his card was destroyed. "I send 'Amethyst' to the grave to negate the damage."
Yubel smirked. "I'll set one card and I think that'll be it for me."
"Oh it will be," Night-Jesse chuckled. "I draw, and activate 'Crystal Bond', I'll add 'Ruby' to my hand and put 'Amber' on the field, now I'll summon 'Ruby Carbuncle' (300/300) and now I can bring back my 'Amber Mammoth' (1700/1600), 'Sapphire Pegasus' (1800/1200), and 'Zenith' (3000/0)."
Yubel looked at the three monsters without worry. "What are you gonna do?" They asked.
"I'm going to send Zenith' to attack your 'Captain'."
Yubel smirked. "And the trap is sprung, I activate my 'Mask Change' to send my 'Gold' to the grave and summon my 'Masked Hero Koga' (2500/1800) and now he gains 2000 for your four monsters (2500-4500/1800)."
"I stop my attack then," Night-Jesse said with a snarl. "And I end my turn."
"Let's go for round two then," Yubel chuckled. "I activate 'Mask Charge' to add 'Avian' and 'Masked Change' back to my hand, now I'll summon 'Avian' (1000/1000) and 'Mask Change' him into 'Masked Hero Divine Wind' (2700/1900), now you can only attack with one monster a turn."
"Alright," Night-Jesse said, looking at the field.
"And now I use 'Koga's' effect to banish my 'Gold' to reduce your 'Zenith's' attack by 2100," (Zenith: 3000-900), and now 'Koga' attack 'Zenith'." (Koga 4500-4000/1800).
"I send my other 'Emerald' to negate the damage!" Night-Jesse yelled.
"Good for you," Yubel said, clapping slowly. "I end my turn."
"I draw," Night-Jesse said. "You're going to regret this, I activate 'Zenith's' effect to banish him and summon another 'Sapphire Pegasus' (1800/1200) and add an 'Ultimate Crystal' monster to my hand, I'll also send 'Conclave' to the grave to return my 'Pegasus' and 'Ruby' to my hand." (Koga: 4000-3500/1800). Now I special summon 'Rainbow Dragon' (4000/0) and attack your 'Divine Wind'!"
(Koga LP: 3500-4000/1800).
"I activate 'Koga's' effect!" Yubel yelled.
"Oh no you won't 'Advanced Dark' negates the effects of any monster attacked by an 'Ultimate Crystal' monster, so you'll be taking this hit!" (Yubel LP: 8000-6700). "And now I summon 'Rainbow Overdragon' (4000/0) by tributing my 'Rainbow Dragon'!"
Yubel blinked at the aurora. "You really are obsessed with dragons, rainbows, and crystals," Yubel said cupping their chin. "And that new outfit isn't doing you any favors, maybe think about toning down the flaming BDSM look."
Night-Jesse chuckled. "You really have no room to talk," He quipped back, looking Yubel up and down. "You look like the definition of a why boner."
"A fair point," Yubel shrugged. "So what are you going to do with 'Overdragon?"
"I'm going to banish an 'Emerald' to give him an extra 600 attack (Overdragon: 4000-4600/0), and send him to attack 'Koga'," (Yubel LP: 6700-6600). "And now I'll set a card and end my turn."
Yubel drew, and laughed. "Well this is a fine how do you do, I activate 'Miracle Fusion' to banish 'Koga' and 'Divine Wind' to summon 'Contrast Hero Chaos' (3000/2600)!" Yubel raised their hand to the sky. "The heavens call... The earth cries out... The crowds roar... All calling on him to strike back against evil. Now listen up, villains! He is the warrior of justice, 'Contrast Hero Chaos'!" They chanted as 'Contrast' landed on the tallest building on the 'Skyscraper' skyline. "'Contrast' activate your effect and negate 'Overdragon's' effect!"
"So what?" Night-Jesse asked. "He can't destroy my dragon."
"No," Yubel smirked. "-But he can suicide himself with 'Skyscraper', 'Contrast' attack 'Overdragon'!" The two monsters collided in a blast of dark and light that could be seen for miles away leaving nothing of the two after it was over. "And now I'll end my turn."
Night-Jesse crackled loudly. "Good try, but I have one more ace up my sleeve, go Rainbow Gravity!" He yelled loudly. "With my 7 different named 'Crystal Beasts' I can summon my final dragon, the 'Rainbow Dark Dragon' (4000/0)!"
The air itself shook as the haze deepened to absolute darkness before a pair of red eyes cut through the haze and seven beams of energy ripped it apart, revealing the dark dragon.
"Now I use his effect to banish all dark monsters on my field and in my graveyard to give him a 500 point boost for each, and by my count that's ten so it'll be an extra 5000!" (Dark Dragon: 4000-9000/0). "Attack with Rainbow Reverse Refraction!"
Yubel smiled. "The last trap closes shut, did you forget about this little one I've had sitting since the start? Well you'll remember it forever after you see it, it's called 'Magistery Alchemist' and it lets me summon back a 'HERO' by banishing four other 'HEROs' so I banish 'Avian', 'Burstinatrix','Clayman', and 'Bubbleman' to summon back 'Contrast Hero Chaos' (3000/2600)."
"No," Night-Jesse growled. "No I won't lose again!"
"Oh but you will silly boy!" Yubel laughed. "For you see since I banished a fire, wind, water, and earth attribute monster, my 'Contrasts's' attack doubles, and all your card effects are negated, and since it's from a trap, your 'Advanced Dark' won't stop it." (Dark Dragon: 9000-4000/0) (Contrast 3000-6000/2600).
Night-Jesse snarled. "I set a card and end my turn." "Next Turn my 'Return From The Different Dimension' and 'Rainbow Refraction' will end this demon and I can take what I need from its corpse!" He screamed in his head.
"There, on top of that ruin!" Yuko said. The group had been wandering in the wastes in the vague direction Yubel had headed off to until they found them.
"Well that's great, but how do we get Rose back? That demon won't give her up easily." Alexis said.
"I don't know yet. We gotta come up with a plan." Yuko said.
Yubel drew her card and stared at it for a while before looking up to face Night-Jesse. "You know Nightshroud, I almost pity you," They said. "You've spent countless centuries trapped inside the nebulous void of the World of Darkness with no power because your body stuck rotting away on a remote island in the middle of the ocean, in another dimension no less. Only to be ripped out of the void and shoved into the body of a child to serve as the pawn of another man, and then to top it off, you were trapped in a card until Viper came along and dug you up, leaving you stuck in this pitiful leaching energy form you're in now," They continued flippantly ignoring Night-Jesse's rage. "-But what I really pity is the fact that you had to go about your entire plan to revive your body and return to your dimension in a way that endangered my lovely's health, had you simply done it a different way we wouldn't even be here right now."
Night-Jesse stopped his raging, only to start laughing instead, making Yubel angry now. "You think I'm doing this to return to the World of Darkness? Ha! That is a drop in the bucket compared to what I want," He said with a malicious grin. "And after this duel, I may just tell you before you collapse into nothingness."
"Or you could yell about it as you're dying," Yubel said suddenly a little uncomfortable with his grin. "-Because I equip 'Favorite Hero' to 'Contrast' Now since I have a field spell he gains attack equal to his defense," (Contrast: 6000-8600/2600). "And you can't target him with card effects, now 'Contrast' attack 'Dark Dragon'!" (Night-Jesse LP: 8000-3400).
"I use 'Return From The Different Dimension'!" Night-Jesse yelled. "I pay half my life points to bring back 'Rainbow Dragon' (4000/0) 'Rainbow Overdragon' (4000/0) and 'Rainbow Dragon Zenith' (3000/0)!" (Night-Jesse LP: 3400-1700).
"...Ok. I've got an idea. It's not a very good one, but I think it'll work." Syrus whispered.
"Really? You came up with a plan?" Chazz said.
"Yeah. I can have plans. You don't know everything about me." Syrus said, slightly indignified. "Now here's what we do…"
"Oh," Yubel said slightly shocked. "Well then, I guess I'll have to end things differently then," They smirked. "See 'Favorite Hero' has another effect. If the equipped monster destroyed another this turn, I can send it to the grave and that monster can attack again." (Contrast 8600-6000/2600). "Attack 'Rainbow Dragon' and end this duel!" Yubel ordered.
"Damn it!" Night-Jesse yelled as Nightshroud started leaving Jesse's body. "I'm not dying here!"
"Shut up and die on your feet!" Yubel shouted as 'Contrast' hit 'Rainbow Dragon' with a thunderous kick. (Night-Jesse LP: 1700-0)
"No, I have one more!" Nightshroud countered leaving Jesse's body just in time and sliding through a portal into another dimension.
"Little cockroach just doesn't know when to die," Yubel snorted as they watched the portal close with a smirk. "At least he's finally going to bring us to the right place," They concluded with a shrug. "Come on my lovely, we need to go if we are to get the card we need," She said to no one.
The air of championship didn't last long though, because Chazz unceremoniously chucked his shoe at her. Yubel dodged it with ease.
"Who throws a shoe?! Honestly!" Yubel yelled exasperated.
"How about a rock?" Hassleberry yelled, slamming a football sized rock into the back of her head.
"Ha! You think a mere rock can stop me? Well you would be right, because I think I'm blacking out." Yubel canted, crumpling to the ground.
"How did you know that would work?" Hassleberry asked.
"I didn't. But Rose wouldn't expect a rock, would she?" Syrus said.
"...Either way," Alexis said, walking over to Yubel, just as they slid into their shadow and Rose came back out, also unconscious. "We should get back," She said, putting Rose on her shoulder. "We got Jesse and beat Brron so there's no need to stay."
"Get her back and exorcise that demon. I don't think I'll be able to do this alone. I'll need to call on an old…" Yuko trailer off.
"And old what?" Hassleberry asked.
"And old...adversary." Yuko finished. Just as she finished her sentence, A flaming pterodactyl came flying overhead.
"G'Day mates!" Jim yelled as the pterodactyl landed in front of them.
"You two are a sight for sore eyes," Alexis chuckled.
"Speaking of eyes, were we fortunate enough to miss some eye gore?" Yuko asked nervously.
"Nope," Jim said. "Come on, we have to get back Bastion got through again and we're making the jump soon."
"Autobots! Transform and move out!" Syrus cheered, summoning 'Shuttleroid' to take them back to the academy.
…
"I've done it!" Bastion yelled happily. "I've made a switch!" He shouted gesturing to the mess of wires and soldered metal all connected to a large lever.
"That looks great!" Lime said.
"What!?" Bastion shouted. "Lime?! When did you get here? I thought you went with the others?"
"I wanted to, but I have a child now, so I had to come back." Lime said.
"A what-?!" Bastion shouted, waving his arms in confusion.
"A child. That's what living things do right? They make children?" Lime said.
"How!? And with who?!" Bastion shouted louder.
"Oh you wanna meet my wife? Come over here honey!" Lime called over. Dark Jeroid trotted over, a small basket strapped to its back.
"You had sex with Dark Jeroid!?"
"It was bound to happen eventually." Lime said.
"How did you even have sex with a sextuple abombination?!" Bastion shrieked as he reached the end of his rope.
"I don't know what those words mean. -But the secrets of Ojama reproduction cannot leave the hive." Lime said as steam came out of Bastion's ears. "You wanna see the baby?"
"I….You know what….why not," Bastion sighed. Lime opened the basket lid to show off a tiny pink Ojama.
"This is Ojama Pink."
"...ok," Bastion said, walking away. "I'm gonna go throw myself in a pot of boiling oil now."

"Alright, is everyone here?" Yuko asked.
"Everyone's accounted for. We double checked." Syrus said.
"Great. Since Rose isn't conscious to say it, I guess I have to. Bastion, do the thing!" Yuko said.
"Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed, and kick it! Gotta blast!" Bastion yelled, and threw the switch.
