Susano-o: Franz was an odd duck, mound of the bound creator made no sense, and finally how did Pegasus get rid of all the copies of Ra? Marik made hundreds of them, I'm actually surprised Ra never smote him for doing that. Man's plot armor is….godly. *Puts Sunglasses on*
Sekhmet: Plot contrivances. And after three years I finally caught the 'Rona! In all seriousness though, I got one of the milder versions and I have a pretty sturdy immune system anyway, so I'll be ok. I honestly forgot that this was a thing that happened, since we postponed the tournament until season 4 so we had to go back and not only pick what battles we wanted to show, but also do all the filler we missed.
Susano-o: I forget most of the details of this duel all the time, again God card powers are bullshit so duels with them usually just end up with some kind of asspull. Hero City 2 isn't even that good.
Sekhmet : But we all remember the bad photoshop tear. Everyone remembers the bad photoshop tear. Oh, and in case anyone cares, MEXT is the Japanese equivalent of the board of education.

Duel 76: Something is Happening!
"Can we have a normal school year? For FIVE SECONDS?!" Yuko screamed.
"Apparently getting an education is frowned upon!" Rose screamed back as the two ran towards the woods.
"Thanks MEXT! You've failed us yet again!" Yuko exasperated.
"Wait for us!" Someone yelled from behind the two. Turning around they saw Alexis and Chazz coming from the dorms, dragging Syrus behind them.
"No, not again, I just finished repressing last year!" Syrus cried.
"Don't forget about us as well!" Bastion shouted, riding into battle on Tania's tiger form. Which was more badass than anyone was willing to admit.
"Where are the teachers!" Rose yelled, before slamming head first into Crowler taking both of them to the ground. "Oh hey Crowler," Rose said smiling.
"Rose," Crowler deadpanned. "Well, it's been a few weeks, more than I expected."
"Honestly same," Rose shrugged, standing up offering a hand to Crowelr as well. "So what's the sitch?"
Crowelr held up his hand. "Wait a minute before you run into danger kids, we have someone coming to help," He explained. "We'll wait for them in my office till they get here."
"Oh thank Ra!" Rose cheered, clasping her hands. "Competence!"
For once the group didn't run straight into danger, instead they took a leisurely stroll to the main building, stopping only for a moment when they saw multiple people carrying wooden beams running towards the pier, wearing Black Knight jackets.
"Umm what's going on?" Rose asked, the students snapped to attention with a salute.
"Ma'am! We're creating a barricade around the island!" One yelled. "We saw the fire and are preparing for another attack! We've already dismantled the Blue dorms and we're about to do the same with Yellow! What are your orders!?"
"...Umm, stand down?" Rose said, confused. The students let out a huge sigh.
"She said stand down!" One yelled back to the line of students carrying lumber. "Go rebuild the dorm!" The crowd cheered and raced back, stripping off their jackets along the way.
"...I think they've got some PTSD," Rose mumbled.
"I think we ALL have PTSD. Aren't we supposed to have a school counselor for that?" Yuko asked.
"Working on it," Crowler answered, leading everyone inside, meeting up with Bonaparte, Axel, Jesse, Jim, and Camula.
"Hey," Rose said, waving to the group.
"Bonjour."
"Hey."
"Hay."
"G'day."
"Hello."
"So anyway, why is a Phoenix being born on the island?" Yuko asked.
"I can answer that," A voice called out from Crowler's deck where the chair was facing the window, swiveling around revealed that it was Maximillion Pegasus. What followed was a two minute freak out at meeting the creator of Duel Monsters in person, forgetting why they were even there until another fireball appeared in the sky and slammed into the island.
"Oh right the plot," Rose said, snapping out of her fangirl squealing at getting an autograph. "So what's happening Mr. Pegasus?"
"One of my former employees, Mr. Edward Franz, has stolen the last copy of the winged dragon of Ra."
"Wait, how are there copies of the God Cards?" Syrus asked.
"Marik and his rare hunters made quite a few copies of The Winged Dragon in an attempt to make superior decks for Battle City and hide who the real Marik was," Pegasus explained. "None of them worked, Ra was very clear on its opinion on forgeries, most of them have since been destroyed, but I kept one for research purposes."
"And that one copy was somehow inoffensive enough to be usable?" Yuko asked.
"No, and that's what's puzzling me," Pegasus admitted. "It should have destroyed Franz as well, but somehow he survived."
"The dumb always survive, let's go find out how, as much as I'll probably regret it because you'll probably make me fight it." Yuko said.
"Mine!" Yubel yelled, shoving Yuko behind them. "I wanna feel the pain of the eternal flames!"
"Well I guess it's up to me," Rose shrugged, but everyone could see her shadow whipping around her feet in excitement.
"Fine by me, I fought the last three sets." Yuko said.
"Hey why can't I battle them?" Chazz asked, angrily. "Ra can't stand up to the power of my Ojama, VWXYZ, Armed Dragon's!"
"The very fact it takes you two breaths to say your entire deck profile is the reason you can't battle Ra," Alexis deadpanned.
"And no offense, but what is a trash king to a god, even a fake one?" Yuko asked.
"Wow just kill all my buzz," Chazz snarked. "So dramatic."
"Yeah is it just me or are you all acting a little too comfortable about this whole situation?" Jesse asked.
"I guess it's an instance of, 'Same shit different day'," Hasselberry signed, pinching his brow. "This is a school right?"
"They unplugged the jukebox after 11 plays, and that was the best meal I've ever had, to quote John Mulaney." Syrus said.
"..."
"Anyway," Pegasus interrupted, spinning around to look out at the campus. "Back to the matter at hand, I'm going to find Franz and get that card back, none of you are going, this is my employee and as such I will handle it."
"Sir, I believe you're too late," Crowler said. Pegasus spun back around to see that everyone had already left."
"How did-?" Pegasus questioned.
"Don't think about it," Crowler said. "Come on, let's go find them."
….
"First one to find Franz gets to duel him!" Rose yelled, taking off into the forest. Yuko immediately stopped long enough for everyone to get ahead of her. Syrus waited till everyone was focused away from him and jumped into a bush. "Franz! Where are you!?" Rose yelled excitedly. "Come out here you german fuck!"
"Honey you really shouldn't be so eager to duel him," Alexis interrupted. "You know Ra is dangerous in the wrong hands, and a disgruntled employee's hands are very wrong, be careful or you might end up like Joey."
"Yeah how did Marik get away with that?" Rose pondered, Alexis glared at Rose completely sidestepping the point. "You think literally attacking the opponent directly would be grounds for disqualification."
"Rose, that's not the point," Alexis interrupted. "This is dangerous, maybe you should have let Pegasus handle it."
"Hey I can handle this," Rose argued. "I already beat back a lovecraftian horror twice, the flames of an eternal phoenix are just the next step, or a sidegrade, I'll figure it out when I duel him."
"Wait up!" A voice called from behind the two, turning around they were shocked to see who was running at them.
"Chumley!?"
"Hey guys," Chumley wheezed. "It's good to see you again."
The three stood there awkwardly for a while as Chumley reigned in his breathing. "Ugh, it's been a while since I had to run," He sighed.
"I bet Mr. Card Designer," Rose smiled. "Too busy making me some new support right?" She said putting an arm around Chumely's shoulder. "Right?" She grinned darkly.
"Ywah," Chumley said, sweating, his first experience with the Gentle Darkness was not going well. "I made you a new card," He explained, holding out a card.
"Awww yeah!" Rose excitedly snatched it from Chumley's hand. "Yubel we're gonna kill a god today!"
"Oh wonderful!" Yubel said, materializing behind Chumley, sending the poor teen flailing to the ground in shock. "I've wanted payback against one of those three for so long after they rejected me from the Duat."
Alexis raised an eyebrow. "So the Egyptians were right about the afterlife?" She asked.
"Well for duelist yes," Yubel corrected. "All duelist go to the Duat."
"That's….incredibly in line with how the world works and I hate it," Rose sighed.
"Alright religion aside," Alexis interrupted. "We still need to find Franz."
"Oh, is someone looking for mich?" Someone said from the treeline of the clearing they had conveniently stopped in.
"That depends," Rose asked. "Are you a disgraced card designer who somehow stole a god card and is now using it to bully children at a school?"
"I am not a disgraced card designer!" Franz shouted walking out of the tree line. "I was Pegasus's top card designer for years until this fat koala came!" Franz shouted pointing at Chumley. "I even had a new idea for a new set of cards focusing on what column you place your cards in, but Pegasus said no and instead this year's set will include an archetype based on grilled cheese!"
"Chumley you made an archetype based on grilled cheese?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah it's a life point gaining set," Chumley explained.
"Dude that sounds so much better than columns!" Rose said excitedly. "I gotta get some!"
"I'm still here!" Franz yelled.
"Oh right," Rose said. "Alright then, let's duel!" She said activating her duel disk.
"Yes," Franz smirked. "Lets."
"As the not disgraced duelist I'll go first," Rose said, drawing her first card. "I summon 'Elemental Hero Solid Soldier' (1300/1100), and use his effect to summon 'Elemental Hero Shadow Mist' (1000/1500) from my hand in defense mode, this lets me add a 'Change' quick-play spell from my deck to my hand, I'll set two cards and end my turn."
"My turn frauline," Franz smirked. "I summon 'Ra's Disciple' (1100/600)!" A man dressed in a ra themed outfit appeared on the field. "And when I summon one, I can now special summon two more from my deck, giving me three."
"Oh my Ra, Ok it's happening!" Rose yelled, holding out her hands towards Chumley and Alexis. "Everybody stay calm!"
"What's the procedure?" Yubel asked, appearing behind her.
"Stay fucking calm!" Rose yelled. "Everybody fucking calm down!"
"I play 'Double Summon'!" Franz yelled. "Now I tribute my three 'Disciples' to summon 'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!"
What could only be described as a reverse lightning bolt flew from the card, parting any and all clouds in a considerable radius around the duel. The circle filled with a blinding light, and from it slowly descended a monster which needs no description. The sun motif gave a mighty, if pained roar that shook the earth itself. (?-3300/?-3300)
"Oh yeah here we go!" Rose shouted excitedly jumping up and down.
"Tell me frauline, do you fear death?" Franz asked. "-Because you're about to meet Anubis today."
"Well maybe," Yubel said. "You'll never be able to attack with him."
"Oh I will," Franz chuckled. "Pegasus doesn't know everything his employees make, I created a very special field spell to control Ra, I call it 'Mound of the Bound Creator'!"
Three chain covered pillars appeared around 'Ra' all of them shot out chains that wrapped around 'Ra's' arms, legs, chest, and neck. 'Ra' roared in pain as the glowing chains tightened around him.
"Now he's mine to command," Franz laughed.
"Oh, well that's one way I suppose," Yubel said looking at the bound god.
"Indeed," Franz smiled. "Now 'Ra' destroy her 'Solid Soldier' Blaze Cannon!"
'Ra's' mouth was forced open and a giant fireball formed inside his mouth, turning into a massive gout of fire that blasted towards Rose.
"I activate, 'Masked Change'!" Rose yelled. "I send 'Solid' to the grave to special summon 'Masked Hero Dian" (2800/3000) in defense mode!" 'Dian' appeared on the field only to be immediately destroyed by 'Ra's' flames. "Oops, no damage for me," Rose smirked.
Franz laughed. "On the contrary, anytime a level 10 or higher monster destroys a monster by battle, the control takes 1000 points of damage," Franz explained, a chain came off one of the pillars and smacked Rose in the back (Rose LP: 8000-7000). "Now I'll set one card and end my turn."
"Alright then," Rose said, drawing her next card. "I summon 'Elemental Hero Stratos' (1800/300) and use its effect to destroy 'Mound of the Bound Creator'."
"Oh no you don't," Franz smiled. "I activate 'Solemn Scolding' for 3000 life points, I can negate your summon and destroy it." (Franz LP: 8000-5000).
Rose hissed as she looked at her hand. "I play 'Fake Hero' and use it to special summon 'Elemental Hero Blazeman' (1200/1800) and use his effect to add 'Polymerization' to my hand, I'll use his second effect to send 'Neos' to the grave to make him a light monster, then I'll fuse him and 'Shadow Mist' to make 'Elemental Hero The Shining' (2600/2100) in defense mode, I'll end my turn."
"Oh poor girl," Franz said. "Don't be ashamed, no one has a counter to 'Ra's' power," Franz drew his card. "I attack your 'The Shining' dealing you another 1000 points of damage," (Rose LP: 7000-6000). "I'll end my turn," Rose started chuckling, angering Franz. "What's so funny!?" Franz shouted.
"Oh nothing," Rose smirked. "I just realized that I've got this in the bag," She said, drawing her card. "See you've got a fatal flaw in your plan 'Ra' has no inherent way to do damage to me, you're only getting damage from your field spell, but as long as I put my cards in defense mode I'm safe," She explained. "So I can just sit and wait till I get all the pieces I need to win," She said looking at her cards. "Kinda funny you didn't think of that, oh well, I play 'Foolish Burial' to send a monster to my graveyard." Rose said, sending her card to the grave. "I think I'll set one monster and end my turn here."
Franz grit his teeth as he realized the fatal flaw in his plan. "No matter, once I get another monster on the field, you'll be open for a direct attack!" He yelled drawing his next card. "Ah here's one now 'Nubian Guard' (500/500), I'll send him to attack your facedown, go Blitzkrieg Bop!"
'Nubian Guard' groaned menacingly as it flung itself at Rose's facedown, before bouncing harmlessly off 'Clayman's' (800/2000) rock hard skin (Franz LP: 8000-6500).
"Ok time out," Rose said. "One, I refuse to believe that things attack name is Blitzkrieg Bop, and two, your deck is made entirely of low attack monsters so you can use cards that can bring them out to summon Ra, am I right?" Rose asked, raising an eyebrow, the silence she got back was all she needed. "Yeah good plan in theory, but now you're stuck without another attacker." She sighed. "Please at least tell me you're running three copies of 'Skull Servant' and 'King of the Skull Servants' so you have SOME cards that can get past 4000 attack?" She was again met with silence. "Dude, you can make cards, but you sure as hell can't play the game."
"Shut up!" Franz yelled. "'Ra' destroy her monster!" (Rose LP: 6000-5000).
"Wow this is disappointing," Rose said, drawing for her turn. "I was hoping for some epic battle, but this is gonna come down to me cheesing a win out," She said looking at her hand. "Yeah it's over," She concluded. "I activate 'Miracle Fusion' to fuse my 'Neos' and 'Yubel' to create 'Elemental HERO Neos Kluger' (3000/2500)!" She yelled. "And now it's time for the big guns, 'Kluger' attack 'Ra'!"
"Are you stupid?" Franz yelled. "Your monster is weaker than mine!"
"Yeah, but his ability makes the damage worth it," Rose smirked. "See when he battles, you take damage equal to the monster he's battling."
"Not so fast!" Franz yelled. "'Ra' cannot be targeted by monster effects!"
"Yeah I know, duh," Rose mocked. "'Kluger's' effect doesn't target!" She laughed as her hero was blown away by 'Ra' but not before sending a blast of purple energy right at Franz. (Rose LP: 5000-3700), (Franz LP: 6500-3200).
"And now your field is empty," Franz grinned, only to lose it when he saw another monster standing on Rose's field.
"Oh not quite," Rose chuckled. "You see, 'Kluger's' last effect lets me summon his counterpart 'Neos Wiseman' (3000/3000) from my deck when he's destroyed, and guess what? His effect is just like 'Klugers' 'Wiseman' Attack!"
"This isn't over Frauline," Franz growled. "I use one of 'Ra's' effect, by paying 1000 life points, 'Ra' transforms into his phoenix mode, he'll lose all his attack points, so your 'Wiseman' does no damage to me!" (Franz LP: 3200-2200)
Rose smiled. "And there's the play, you forgot someone else on the field, 'Wiseman' is aiming for your 'Nubian Guard'!" (Franz LP 2200-0).
"Well that was…..just kinda boring," Yubel sighed as 'Wiseman' faded from the field.
"Yeah, either Marik's cheating was the only reason Ra was so powerful, or this guy was just bad," Rose agreed. "I'm guessing both."
"Well, let's take him back I suppose," Yubel said, summoning their shadow to grab Franz and teleport all three of them back to Crowler's office.
