Chapter 26

Maledictator 2

'This is Nadja Chamack reporting live from city hall. Today is the final day of the mayoral race between Andrea Bougeois and Ronald Bones. Ronald has gained a huge following in light of the support shown by Ladybug and Chat Noir, who Ronald promised to help them keep Paris safe and possibly even defeat Hawkmoth. Could Paris enter a new age? Or will we still be at Hawkmoth's mercy still?'.

William then turned off his TV.

"You think your dad's gonna win?" Asked Scul.

"With all the dirt that was sent out", answered William. "It's practically a ceremony for my dad". There as a knock at his door and Valerie then came in.

"Are you ready, Master William?" Asked Valerie.

"Yeah, I just finished putting my suit on" answered William, fiddling with his tie.

"Very nice", said Valerie. "Today's the big day".

"It's all over the news", said William. "It's not like anyone's gonna forget".

"Shall we head off then?" Asked Valerie.

"Indeed we shall" answered William. The two then walked to the limo, where Ronald was waiting.

"You ready for this?" Asked Ronald.

"Let's see who the people favour" answered William. They got into the limo and drove off to city hall. When they got out, people were cheering for them.

"Man, looks like everyone in Paris is here" said William. When they got up the steps, Andrea and Chloe were waiting for them.

"Look who it is", said Chloe. "The fool's golden child".

"Hey, look who it is", mocked William. "The bitch who probably gives bjs to Hawkmoth". Chloe was about to say something, but Andrea placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Where's you're wife?", asked William. "Is she banging another guy because your meat and two veg are too wrinkled and rotten?". Andrea only scowled.

"And now", the announcer said. "It is time to announce the new mayor of Paris. And that is~". Everyone was at the edge of their seats, or rather, the tips of their toes.

"Ronald Bones". The whole are was silent for about a minute before. Then, the crowd cheered and started chanting 'Mayor Bones' over and over again.

"NO!", shouted Chloe. "NO! This can't be! Daddy was supposed to win, not you!".

"The people have spoken", said Ronald. "Guess they got tired of betting on the same slot, so, they took a gamble with a different one". An official then took the Mayor's sash off of Andrea and gave it to Ronald, who then put it on.

"Thank you. Thank you", said Ronald. "It's so nice to see all your support, as a way to say thank you, I'm holding a party at my resort, and after that, everything will be 50% for the next seven days. Also, Ladybug, Chat Noir, if you're not busy, you're welcome to come too. Other then that, you're all invited".

At the Dupain-Cheng Patisserie.

Tom, Sabine and Marinette were cheering when they heard that Ronald became mayor.

"We got a new mayor" cheered Tom.

"And we finally don't have to deal with Chloe's bullshit anymore" agreed Marinette.

"I haven't been this happy since we first opened the bakery" cheered Sabine. Suddenly, the bell rang. Marinette ran up to the counter and saw Valerie standing there.

"May I speak to the people who run the bakery?" Asked Valerie.

"Mom! Dad! Someone's here for you!" Marinette called out. Tom and Sabine then walked up to the counter.

"Aren't you one of the maids that work at Palacio De Oro?" Asked Sabine.

"The head maid actually", answered Valerie. "And, Mayor Bones, would like to speak with you". She then lead them to the limo and the drove off. When they arrived, they saw Ronald waiting for them by the entrance.

"Ah, Mr and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng", said Ronald extending his hand. "So nice to see you".

"Likewise", said Tom as he and Sabine shook his hand. "Congrats on becoming mayor".

"Thank you", said Ronald. "Now, follow me, we have much to discuss". The Dupain-Cheng family then looked at each other before following Ronald.

"As you are aware", said Ronald. "I'm throwing a party tonight. And I was wondering if you'd cater for the desserts".

"Why us?" Asked Tom.

"I've heard outstanding stuff about your goods", said Ronald. "Jagged, Clara, heck, every time someone comes here from your bakery, all their reviews of you are rave". Tom, Sabine and Marinette were looking at each other.

"While we are flattered", said Sabine. "We simply don't have the time, or facilities for it".

"Ah, but you will soon", said Ronald. "You will soon". He then took them a set of white doors.

"Allow me" said Valerie. She then pushed the door open to reveal a kitchen full of chefs.

"ATTEEEEENNNNNTION!" Shouted Valerie. All of the chefs stopped what they were doing and looked at Valerie.

"These are some of our best patisserie chefs in our kitchen", said Ronald. "You now have the entirety of the Patisserie kitchen and these chefs at your disposal. So, what do you say?".

"I'd say, let's get cooking" said Tom.

"Do you need my help?" Asked Marinette.

"I think we got plenty hear" chuckled Sabine.

"Don't worry", said Ronald. "I'm sure William will be more then glad to hang out with Marinette. Valerie, would you care to show her to his room?".

"It would be my pleasure", said Valerie. "Follow if you would Marinette". Valerie then lead Marinette out of the kitchen.

Meanwhile, William was spinning around on a chair in his room.

"You seem excited" said Scul.

"Why wouldn't I be?", asked William. "My dad's the mayor now, and Chloe is just another face in the background. HAHAHAHAHA-Whwhwhwhoa…..ow". William had lost balance and fell on his back. There was a knock at the door.

"Come in" said William. The door then opened, to reveal Valerie and Marinette.

"Are alright young master?" Asked Valerie.

"I'm fine", answered William.

"Anyway", said Valerie. "Marinette's parents are using the kitchen, so they were wondering if you could keep her entertained until they're done?".

"I'd be more then happy to" said William.

"Very well", said Valerie as she walked away. "And remember to use protection". Marinette's face then turned red.

"So, what do you wanna do first?" Asked William.

"Well, I do need new fabric for my designs", answered Marinette. "So, can we go fabric shopping?".

"While it doesn't sound all that interesting", said William. "Sure beats sitting on my ass in here". He then grabbed Marinette by the hand and pulled her towards the limo.

"Where are we going today, young master?" Asked the driver.

"The nearest fabric store please" answered William. The limo then drove off.

"So, how does it feel being the son of the mayor?" Asked Marinette.

"Feels pretty good", said William. "I can't wait for Paris to react to the fact that the child of he new mayor isn't a spoiled brat. Heh, try saying that three times fast".

"I don't think I will because I'd like to keep my tongue" answered Marinette.

"You are a funny girl, Marinette" said William. The limo then stopped.

"We're here young master" said the driver.

"Thanks", said William. "I'll call you when we're done". They got out, and the limo drove off.

"That driving made me hungry" said Marinette.

"How about we get something to eat?" Asked William.

"Yeah, I now a nice cafe that has the best cakes" answered Marinette.

"Better then your parent's?" Asked William cheekily.

"Well, no" said Marinette. They then headed off to the cafe.

Meanwhile, Adrian was in his room. He had seen the results of the election and was indifferent about it. Chloe was always good to him, but that was because their parents forced them to hang out. But, he knew that Chloe was an absolute bitch to everyone who didn't enable her. Between her and Lila, it's like choosing the lesser of two evils.

"Hah! Take that Chloe" said Plagg.

"Do you think Ronald's up to the task?" Asked Adrian.

"Is Camembert my favourite cheese?" Asked Plagg. Adrian just looked at the floor.

"You're just worried that Chloe's gonna get Akumatized because of this?" Asked Plagg.

Adrian said nothing.

Meanwhile, Andrea and Chloe were not having the best time.

"Ugh, this is unbelievable", said Chloe. "His dad should not be the mayor".

"Sweetie", said Andrea. "I, unfortunately can't do anything. The people voted for him and-".

"Can't you just rig the machines to make it look like you won?" Asked Chloe.

"I can't", answered Andrea. "And if I was caught, I'd be banned from running for office permanently".

Meanwhile, in Hawkmoth's lair.

"Frustration, anger, hopelessness and above all, misery. The perfect target", said Hawkmoth before infecting a butterfly and sending it out. "Fly away, my little Akuma and evilise this defeated man".

The Akuma made it to Andrea's hotel and it entered his tie.

"Maledictator, I am Hawkmoth. You lost your power and are now feeling weak and defenceless. But, I'm giving you the chance to take it back. But in return for this, I only ask of one thing, Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous".

"By the power invested in me", said Andrea. "It shall be done". A black, bubbly mist then covered him.

At Palacio De Oro.

"Hmm, this isn't gonna be easy", said Ronald. "Might have to divide and conquer".

"Define what you mean?" Asked Valerie.

"Well, I'm gonna have to be in city hall for most of the day", answered Ronald. "But, who will be in charge here?".

"That does present a problem" said Valerie. Soon, the sounds of screaming was heard.

"What's going on?" Asked Ronald. He and Valerie then ran towards the lobby and saw some with blue skin wearing a jumpsuit styled like Napoleon, complete with a hat.

"Is that an Akuma?" Asked Ronald.

"I, I assume so" said Valerie. The Akuma then saw Ronald.

"Ah, there you are Ronald" said the Akuma. Ronald then put two and two together.

"Andrea?" Asked Ronald.

"Not anymore", said the Akuma. "For I, am Maledictator". The middle and index fingers on both of Maledictator's hands created an orb.

"By the power invested in me", said Maledictator. "I declare that you leave Paris!". He then flung the orbs, but Ronald then dodged them.

"We need to get out of here" said Ronald.

"No need to tell me twice" agreed Valerie. They then ran off.

At the cafe.

Marinette and William were enjoying themselves, when William's phone rang.

"Hello" said William, answering.

'William, it's me'.

"Dad", said William worryingly. "What's going on?".

'There's an Akuma after me. I'm heading to the garage, get to somewhere safe'.

The line then cut.

"Dad" said William with the sound of worry in his voice. Marinette noticed this.

"Is there something wrong?" Asked Marinette.

"There's an Akuma after my dad", answered William. "We paid for this right?".

"Yeah" answered Marinette confused and worried.

"Then I gotta go" said William before running off. Marinette then went to find a place to hide. Eventually, she found a place.

"William has no idea what he's getting into", said Marinette. "We gotta stop the Akuma".

"Don't worry, Marinette", said Tiki. "We'll figure something out".

"Tiki! Spots on!".

At the Agreste Manor.

Adrian was watching the news and saw that Andrea had been Akumatized.

"Huh, he's having a temper tantrum because he lost", said Plagg. "Pathetic".

"No time for that" said Adrian.

"Plagg! Claws Out!".

Meanwhile, Ronald was driving through Paris, trying to dodge Maledictator.

"Hold still, and listen to your mayor!" Shouted Maledictator.

"That's what this is about?!", shouted Ronald. "You spat the dummy because you lost?! No wonder your wife cheats on you". Ronald then applied the breaks and crashed into a lamppost.

"I hope insure covers this" groaned Ronald as he got out of the car. Maledictator then landed in front of him.

"Shit" groaned Ronald.

"By the power invested in me", said Maledictator. "I comma-". He was stopped when a yo-yo wrapped around his arms before getting yanked away. Ladybug and Chat Noir then showed up.

"You okay, Mr. Bones?" Asked Chat Noir.

"I'm fine", said Ronald. "I just need to get out of here". He then got up and ran.

"You will not stop me from getting my power back", said Maledictator. "I am the true power of this city".

"We'll see about that" said Ladybug.

With William.

He ran into an alleyway, before Scul flew out of his pocket.

"Are we gonna tear this one a part?" Asked Scul.

"Like wrapping on a present", answered William. "Scul! Devour!".

With Ladybug.

She and Chat Noir had been fighting Maledictator and were nearing the end of their wit.

"This is going nowhere" said Chat Noir.

"For you maybe" retorted Maledictator.

"Lucky charm!" Shouted Ladybug. After her yo-yo spun, what came down was-.

"A antler?" Wondered Ladybug.

"Why would it give us an antler?" Asked Chat Noir. Maledictator was getting ready to attack again, when something struck him, sending him flying. Everybody looked to see, the Wendigo. He then unleashed a loud roar, echoing across Paris.

"By the power vested in me", said Maledictator. "I-". He didn't get to finish, when the Wendigo grabbed his middle and index fingers on each hand. He then ripped them off, causing Maledictator to scream in pain. Wendigo claws then grew and slashed Maledictator across the stomach and then across one of his arms. He then reached into his chest, pulled out a rip and stabbed him in the shoulder. He then grabbed each side of Maledictator's head, and with s symphony of sickening sounds, he basically tore Maledictator off of Andrea. The Akuma then flew out of the carcass.

"No more evil doing for you, little Akuma", said Ladybug before spinning her yo-yo. "Time to de-evilise". She then swung her yo-yo and it caught the Akuma.

"Gotcha", said Ladybug before opening the Yo-yo and releasing the now purified Akuma. "Bye-bye, little butterfly".

She then threw the antler into the air.

"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!". Swarms of Ladybugs then fixed the damage. The Wendigo's eyes then fell on Andrea. Andrea tried to get up, but the Wendigo then placed his foot on him. The Wendigo then got into his face, fresh blood still dripping from his mouth.

"You are a sad excuse for a human", the Wendigo growled. "You are drenched in the filth of greed and vile. I'd eat you, but the time isn't right". He then looked to the people of Paris.

"BEWARE PEOPLE OF PARIS!", shouted the Wendigo. "FOR ALL THOSE WHO ARE GREEDY AND CORRUPT! YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED AND CONSUMED! SO SWEARS THE WENDIGO!". He then released a deafening roar that echoed around. Everyone near by was covering their ears. The Wendigo then turned into a shadow and he dashed off.

Later that night, the party was in full swing. William was by the buffet table, wearing a stylish suit.

"You having fun?". William glanced sideways to see Marinette standing there, wearing a dress of her own design.

"Not really into parties", said William. "Never really saw the point of them other then trying to get into each other's pants". Marinette scratched the back of his head nervously.

"I'm guessing you got invited due to your parents doing some of the catering?" Asked William.

"Y-y-yeah", answered Marinette. "I'm honestly surprised as well".

"You wanna be a fashion designer, correct?" Asked William.

"Yeah" answered Marinette nervously.

"Well, if you work hard, meet the right people and act the right way", said William. "You'll be on the tongues of people who want stylish clothes. Like we say in our family; you work hard, you get gold in return".
