"This is great, Bell, your first day five thousand Vali's!" Bell felt his face was splitting in two from the praise. Eina stood next to him at the exchange desk, staring at ten goblin shards.

"Thank You, Miss Eina," reaching out, he grabbed her hand from her side and shook it vigorously. "I could never have done it without your help!" bowing, he missed Eina's cheeks and ears turn a brilliant red.

Bell grabbed his bag of Vali's and tore out of the guildhall. He was sprinting down back streets and alleys, heading towards the abandoned part of town where his familia lived.

"Sir!" turning around at the feminine voice echoing down the alley, he saw a girl running towards him. She was wearing a green dress, and her gray hair bobbed in its ponytail as she rushed toward him. "You dropped this," her breathless voice rang out as she pulled a coin pouch out of her pocket.

Bell's eyes went wide as he felt along the back of his belt where he had tied off his purse. "Thank You" she giggled at his apology and bow, dropping the bag into his hands.

"Well, if you want to make it up to me, I work at the Hostess of Fertility all night. We even have a special for new adventures," she finished with a wink.

"Yes, Ma'am. I will"

Waving goodbye, she left him staring at her retreating figure. He kept the pouch in his hand as he sprinted back to Hestia.

His goddess immediately decided that they needed to celebrate. She dragged him out to the Inn he had promised he was going to visit. Walking inside, it was immediately apparent that this was a much grander inn than he had ever been inside. The wood floors were spotless, the tables a rich dark wood, and there was Soma wine, the most expensive in the city, sitting in easy reach behind the bar.

A purple-haired waitress pointed them to a back table. Sitting down and looking at the menu, he nervously counted his Vali's. He could maybe afford a meal depending upon what his goddess ordered.

"Hello, my name is Sry, and I will be your waitress- well, if it isn't our newest adventurer!" their waitress was the girl from earlier!

"How do you know her, Bell! One day in the dungeon, and you are already meeting women!" he winced at his goddess's voice. Glad for the loud music covering her voice from the tables nearby

"Oh my Bell, you didn't tell your goddess about us," Syr giggled; he felt his heart drop to his feet as Syr blew a kiss.

"No goddess, she is the one I told you about, remember? She found my purse and returned it. We just met, and I ran straight home," he sputtered out, his face beet red.

Hestia narrowed her eyes at him. Moving her glare to the giggling waitress, she sighed. "Your right. She is nowhere near womanly enough," Hestia dropped her chest on the table as she glared at Syr, "to entice little Bell."

Bell felt his heart sink below his feet. Syr's eyes made him feel like he was in the room with a horde of monsters. Looking down at his arms, he could see all the hair standing on edge. His goddess seemed utterly immune to the change in their waitress.

"I will have the Dragon Steak and a mug of Soma Wine," Hestia spoke without looking at Syr.

Doing some mental math, he realized both items she had ordered would cost 4,500 Vali's. Panicking, he started at the menu, looking for something inexpensive to select. There was nothing on the menu for under five hundred Vali's.

"Um, Goddess, we only have-" he was cut off by Hestia waving her hand to cut him off.

"Nonsense Bell this is your first adventure we will celebrate. I have it all covered,"

His grandfather would roll over in the grave if he found out Bell was taking charity from women. Real Men provide for their women. You can't expect to land yourself a woman with no money, Bell, his grandfather would say to him. Syr snatched the menu out of his hands. Looking up, Syr had both menus in her hand.

"Bell, remember we have the adventurers special for first-timers?" his heart fluttered from his feet back into his chest at her smile.

"Oh Yes, Thank You," watching her move back to the bar, he saw another waitress move past her. Wearing the same outfit as Syr was a gorgeous woman No Elf he corrected that he had ever seen, flowing blonde hair with soft green eyes, her tall, lithe form moving through the crowd of people with more grace than a dancer. He could feel his throat pulsing with his heart as he tried not to stare.

Looking back at his goddess, she washed down three mugs of wine before their food came out. His eyes were wide and mouth open as he stared at the work of art that was his meal. The cooks had made a map of the level one dungeon using meat and vegetables.

"This is amazing!"

"We have some former adventurers here who came up with the idea. Mia gives it away for free to all new adventurers. Brings in new customers," Syr explained, refilling Hestia's wine glass for the fourth time. He looked with some concern. Hestia's face was flushed red, and she swayed in her seat.

"Umm, Syr, do you think she has had enough?" he spoke softly so only Syr could hear him.

"I do think so, Mr. Bell. I will get the bill for you."

Syr put the bill down in the center of the table. Hestia snatched the bill off the table; he watched as she moved the bill closer and closer to her face until her nose touched the paper.

"Bell, you pay," she thrust the bill at him. Picking it up, the food in his stomach felt like it was coming back up his throat. Dinner was thirty thousand Vali's, and the wine was twenty-seven thousand Vali's.

"Goddess, I told you I only have the five thousand Vali's from my adventure today," he bowed his head. Bell had his head down and didn't see his goddess launching the mug of wine at his head. A pale hand managed to grab the cup, but the liquid inside drenched his white hair red.

He felt the liquid drip down the front of his hair onto his face. Staring at his goddess in shock, her face even redder than before, "I don't care! Get back in the dungeon right now and don't come back until we have enough. I won't have my celebration cut short by a lack of Vali's" she shouted.

Bell could see everyone in the bar staring at him. His throat was unable to produce any words he ran out of the Hostess on his way to the dungeon. The wine dripped on his face hiding the tears that slipped from his eyes. Running nonstop, he walked down the steps into the dungeon.

Silence greeted him in the dungeon. Immediately upon entering the first floor, he ran into two goblins. Earlier, there had been many adventures and sounds of fighting. Now there was nothing but the low hiss of the goblins. Running forward, he slashed each goblin across the neck before they could react. He picked up their tiny shards he made his way deeper.

He thought monsters must be all sleeping, seeing no more enemies on the first floor. He heard the scamper of feet moving on level two as soon as he reached the bottom step. Throwing himself forward into a group of four goblins, he slammed into the first goblin, tumbling it to the ground. The second swung its club at his head, but he was faster. Kicking out the goblin's knee, it fell still, swinging its club, snapping the third goblin's head back with a thunk. Tossing his spare knife at the remaining standing goblin, he watched the knife impale itself into its chest before it exploded into dust.

Making his way over to the two downed goblins, he struck each before they had a chance to recover—four more shards, another two thousand Vali's. Moving deeper into level 2, he noticed again there were no more monsters.

"Maybe this is why they don't want adventurers in the dungeon at night not enough monsters?" he spoke his thoughts aloud. Level three right ahead, making his way down the steps, he missed a green cape mostly hidden behind a pillar.

Level three was nothing like level two, Bell decided. He could feel his lungs burning as he gasped air through his mouth. In front of him were two digger class kobolds and two mid-level goblins. Bell launched forward with a yell tossing a dagger at the unarmed goblin. He grinned as it struck deep into its chest. Moving to the leftmost monster, a kobold, he ducked under its scythe swing; coming up under its swing, he cut through its left arm. With a pitiful snarl, it exploded into dust.

Moving forward, he spun to see a knife streaking towards his head. Time slowed down as he realized he wouldn't be able to block the blade and closed his eyes. He only felt a massive gust of air blow the dagger off course, where it burrowed into the rock next to his ear.

Opening his eyes, he saw the remaining monsters were gone, their stones lying on the floor. He dropped the four new stones into his pouch and collapsed against the rock walls. The water trickled down the wall causing his shirt to stick to his skin.

"HELLPP," a terrified shrieking voice reverberated through the dungeon. His legs burned from his previous fight as they propelled him forward in the direction of the voice. In the center, an adventurer was on their back, arms raised to protect their head as a kobold swung its scythe down. His heartbeat was pounding in his ears as he sprinted straight into the fight. Screaming, he threw both daggers and watched as the scythe completed its swing into the adventurer's chest before his knives impaled themselves deep into its hairy chest.

Sprinting forward, he collapsed on his knees at their side. It was a girl with long black hair, her top stained red from the giant hole in her chest. Her eyes were solid white, and she would have looked dead if her chest were not moving.

"Hold on Miss," fumbling hands reached into his pocket to pull out a health potion. "Here, drink this-" pulling off the cap, he moved it towards her lips.

"Stop," his hand stopped moving, caught in a vice-like grip. Spinning around, he grabbed his last remaining dagger, and the world turned upside down as his attacker swept his feet from under him and landed heavily on his back. Above him, another adventurer, this one wearing a white shirt with a dark brown cloak obstructing her face, two short swords swung on her hips.

"She is already gone. That wound isn't something a level one health potion can cure" her voice was curt. Pulling the potion out of Bell's hand, she left him on the ground and put the stopper back in.

"No, please help me," the girl on the ground coughed up blood as she spoke.

"Give me that I can help her," launching himself at the standing adventurer, he hit her flat in the stomach and dropped to the floor. She must be at a high level. That was like hitting a wall. Getting back up, he lunged at her hand, snatching the potion. Running back to the dying adventurer, he poured the potion down her throat.

Her bleeding didn't stop. "Please, I don't want to die. Please help me," Bell could feel tears running down his face. The villager's doctor told him to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. Putting his hands on the wound, he applied pressure. The red liquid was warm on his hands as he pushed down. Underneath him, the thump of her heart was getting softer and softer.

"Please, I don't want to go," she whispered. Bell couldn't see anything, his eyes were blurry from tears, and his shaking hands could not move. He felt her heart stop beating.

"She's gone," the adventurer from before spoke again.

"No, she can't be!" he screamed. He could have saved her if he was just faster! He would show this adventurer and his goddess. He would become a hero! All he ever wanted was to be a hero and have a familia like in his grandfather's stories.

Bell could feel something moving from his heart. It was warm and tingly as it made its way down his arm that was still on the dead adventurer. His eyes widened as he saw the light from the globe moving down his arm until it passed through his palm, leaving with a sharp tingle, and moved into the girl below. The ball of light continued its journey until it was below the wound in her chest. He collapsed as a flash of light exploded from the dead adventurer's chest, illuminating the entire dungeon.

Before his head could hit the floor, the adventurer behind him rushed forward to collect him. Her short blond hair spilled out over elven ears when she pulled her hood down. She shook her head at the child under her arm, a crazy drunk goddess and a dead adventurer on his first day.

"You may look like a rabbit, but you don't have the luck of one," she murmured.

"I'm alive?" Ryuu dropped the child under her arm, ripping out her short swords as she turned around at the voice. The adventurer was standing up, the wound on her chest wholly healed. "How am I alive," the girl asked, staring at Ryuu and the boy under her arm.

"You were dead," Ryuu finally managed to get out. Keeping her blades out, she used her foot to turn Bell over. Sheathing one blade, she used her free hand to tug up his shirt gently. She stared at his falna

Every god and goddess in Oranio would be fighting over Bell if this got out. Ryuu tossed Bell over her shoulder and sprinted out of the dungeon ignoring the shouting Amazon behind her. She moved in the alleys back to the Inn, hiding both of them from all eyes. She jumped in through the back door and put Bell onto her bedroom floor. Before returning downstairs, she took her clothes into the room across the hall and changed back into her waitress outfit.

Making her way through the Inn, it was completely clear of customers, except for the boy's goddess, who was holding a bottle of wine on her table. Ryuu walked over to Mia, who was alone behind the bar.

"Mia, I brought the Mr. Cranel back."

"Good job, sending a beginner into the dungeon at night, kids lucky I have a soft spot" the elf nodded in agreement.

"I cleaned the dungeon around him, but something happened," the dwarf put down the glass she was wiping down at the bar to stare up at her.

"You are a level four. What do you mean something happened? Where is the shrimp anyway?"

"I cleaned out the monsters around him without a problem. But he came across another adventurer, an Amazon. She was dying,"

"So the kid saw someone die? It's sad, but that's the life of an adventurer. Don't beat yourself up over it; he's safe," Mia picked the glass up, inspecting it for any spots.

"Yes, she did die, but then he brought her back to life,"

The glass shattered in Mia's hand. "That's not possible" she took a step back as Mia's eyes bored into her.

"It is. I checked Bell's Falna. He has two abilities,"

"Where is the kid,"

"He is suffering from mind down. I laid him on the floor in my room," Mia moved across the floor so quickly that Ryuu's eyes couldn't even track her. Running up the stairs, Mia crouched over the boy reading his back.

"Goddess, if this gets out, there will be blood in the streets. Familia's have killed for much less than this," she quickly pulled his shirt back down.

"You keep an eye on him,"

"What about his goddess?" Mia stopped at the door leaning her head against its frame.

"He cannot go back with her. She is too immature to have an adventurer as young as him. Not to mention she would be sent right back to heaven when this came out," when Mia turned back to face Ryuu with a huge grin. "It's such a shame we will have to report to the guild that we are taking him in place of payment for her bill tonight."

"Taking him?" Ryuu cocked her head. The Hostess of fertility did not have any males working at it. They didn't even have any extra room's for him to stay in.

"Hestia racked up a bill of over one hundred thousand Vali's, the exact amount a level one costs per the guild she can pay off her tab with the boy," Ryuu looked down at the sleeping boy. How would he deal with no longer being an adventurer? "It's for his good and hers. He will stay in here, but for tonight, you can use my room,"

"I will stay with him," Syr's voice drifted in from behind Mia. "He knows me, and I have a couch in my room we can put him on."

Ryuu looked at Mia, who nodded her agreement. Mia went downstairs as Ryuu carried the sleeping boy into Syr's room. Lying him down on the couch, she watched as Syr took a wet cloth to wipe the wine out of his hair and blood off his hands. Throwing the bloody rag into a bucket in the corner, she grabbed a blanket wrapping the young boy up in a cocoon of soft fluff.

"Thank you for protecting him," Syr hugged the other woman. "That horrible woman sending him down there. He owes you his life,"

Loki hated Ishtar's parties, especially those she held in her home. The whole entertainment district, not just Ishtar's home. But this year was Ishtar's turn to host the banquet of familia, so she was obligated to attend. Divine beings intermingled under gaudy red and purple lights. One thing she could not complain about was the scantily clad serving staff.

Ishtar does have good taste in women.

Her thoughts were cut off as the doors to the mansion creaked open, revealing an amazon, the purple band on her chest doing nothing to hide her impressive chest.

"Aisha, you were supposed to be back hours ago" Ishtar's voice caused a shudder to run up Loki's spine. Low and sensual, her voice could enrapture a room. Long legs propelled Ishtar across the room to her adventurer, her chest dancing in her cut top. Loki sighed as she looked down at her flat chest. Life indeed was not fair.

"I died," Loki heard the entire party go silent as every god and goddess turned to stare. Closing her eyes, Loki listened to the truth in her words. This girl truly believed she had died.

"You are still here, child," Ishtar chucked. No mortal would be able to detect the unease in that chuckle, but Loki was no mortal. "Get yourself cleaned up and see Pheobe. Several clients have requested you for the evening,"

"Goddess, please believe me! This adventurer he brought me back!" the amazon was screaming. Loki could feel her heartbeat going faster. An adventurer who could revive the dead would change the entire power balance. "He was with an elf, and his hair was red like wine! I know what I saw! Please believe me!" Loki watched as other amazons pulled the arrival screaming out of the hall.

When the doors closed behind them, the room was silent as a tomb. Loki quickly said her goodbyes as she made her way to the door. Oracio's second strongest familia would be getting an upgrade, she thought with a grin.
