Things Never Left Unsaid
Chapter Sixteen
However, this left the ones in charge of the ship feeling at a loss, since the crew were given them all the evil eye and a wide berth, ever since Aleta confessed everything about Regellen and Hoag, even the ones who had been there alongside them, just kept it casual, instead of pointing a finger at them.
But the atmosphere was tense and exhausting, so in the end, they retired to their quarters, with the scent of Peter lingering in the air, and the room without him felt very empty.
"I feel like a monster", Aleta stated to thin air, and to make it all better, at least for a while, Staker, slowly and carefully took all their clothes, pushed her to the bed and set about making love to his wife, more gently and more intense, to give her the "little death" to take away the pain in her heart.
But it didn't stop the fact that afterwards, both of them felt emotionally raw, with a growing feeling in their bodies, as Aleta knew what she had to do, but it filled her with dread.
The thing about tension, however, was it broke eventually, and Peter the next morning, after Actveia got him washed and dressed. Making it fun remembering his parents and how they did it for him, too Peter off for a delicious breakfast, with all the new jam, he had made.
All the crew he knew gave him a morning wave, and responding when he said "good morning" to all of them, Peter even sat with Aleta and Stakar to show that there were no hard feelings, between the group and Peter just happily talked to them.
The ones in charge of the galleon, tried to keep it casual, as later on Peter was taken down to the maintenance bay section, and had a walk through the ship, but I was after he had devoured a delicious lunch, he suddenly jumped up in his chair, causing it to wobble, and announced "They are home", and took off for the Hanger Bay, followed by Actveia.
Peter's little feet pounded on the deck, as in the cockpit of Galleon, Mainframe looked dup "M-ships in range". He stated to the captain, who just quickly said, Prepare the bay, let's bring them it".
Actveia caught up with Peter as he got to the glass window, which just like the Elector, overlooked the Hanger Bay, which wasn't as clean as it was on the Elector, Peter noted, as he began to point out "That's Yarovesky, that Jamsean's, that's Proctom's…".
Finally, all of the ships were docked, and Peter who was holding onto Actveia, ripped from his grip, and took off for the bay door, around the time, Stakar and Aleta came around the corner.
If there was a marked difference, to how the Ravagers were adaptable, as in a flurry of boots, and red leathers, and with Peter looking round to see who he knew as with a squeal he yelled out "Yarovesky", and leapt into the Ravagers arms.
"Hi monster, you ok". Yarovesky asked the four-year-old, who only nodded, as he quickly saw Jamsean and Gunnsen and wanted a cuddle from them, who obliged. Peter was passed around the Ravagers until everyone was satisfied.
Thou the Ogord's Ravager having not known Peter, though they had heard everything about him, felt a bit jealous of this. Seeing the Ravagers, they had worked alongside with dissolve from criminals to uncle types.
A few of the Udonta Ravers noted Proctom, looking concerned, until he turned to see Iztel, who greeted the Ravager warmly, "Seriously lad, that was some quality good work from you, never seen you in the field, was proud of you". Iztel said quickly alleviating Proctom's concerns and quickly filed him on of what happened afterwards which was overheard by several of the crew, regarding the children. When several of them noted the small confused child by the M-Ship entry and fell silent due to the even more confused look on her face.
"I'll fill you in on everything but I need to get her to the Infirmary for an extra check-up". Iztel told the group, who silently let them pass. Since she was a living reminder of what had happened and the only living witness, who was capable of letting them know everything.
Clothes had been scrounged up, but they were hanging off her, as Iztel with his one good arm, took her hand and saying reassuring words, took her from the room, leaving Peter very confused "Who is that?", he asked aloud only to be told by Yarovesky "She's someone very important" since this was a hard subject to broach, and now there was the issue of what to do with her.
Aleta and Staker who were standing there watching this unfold, were confused and walked with Iztel whilst he filled them in. The scrap of a child, said nothing since she had gone from slavery to freedom in a few hours and was now in the company of criminals.
But she climbed onto the med bed with ease and wrapped herself into a ball and fell asleep. Now too traumatised, but with a stomach full of good food to think further than that.
However, Aleta, now having told what has happened felt a stab of pity for the girl, and wondered what her part of all of this would be. Also, what Iztel was asking, but knowing Peter was on board, wasn't the time to question it.
These were words, that had to be stated by Yondu and Kraglin and no one else.
Whilst this was going on, all of them returned to the mess hall where the Udonta Ravagers had coordinated, with Peter giving them the brief on his time, but not going into too much detail. Who had had a good time overall, since an element of camaraderie had developed between the two crews, and for some this was their first time meeting the child they had all heard about.
Peter naturally was loving the extra attention, but still asked questions about his daddies only to get a reassurance for Yarovesky that they would be back soon, which seemed to placate the four-year-old. Since all his other favourite people were back, but because he was little, he had to change it and asked for a snack.
"No problem", three cooks said in unison, before they looked at each other and just laughed between themselves, since this had now become a habit.
Even though it was Actveia's domain, he stood back and let Iztel make him, a small plate of sweet biscuits which Actveia and Peter had made the day before. Whilst Proctom stood by and noted something out of the corner of his eye before going over, and then pulling out his portable soldering iron.
"Look at that", he gestured to Actveia, "the wire was looking a bit frayed, give that a few months that would have been a hell of an explosion". He explained, since no one unless they were an expert would have noted, and Proctom it happened to be was.
"Nothing to worry about, though", Proctom said, having the wire fixed in seconds, whilst Actveia thanked him since Galleons always needed something to be repaired, and Yondu was a believer of "fixed as son a possible, no waiting" whilst Proctom just shrugged it off as no big deal.
The plate was passed to Peter, with a thank you, and Iztel turned to Actveia, with total sincerity "Thanks for looking after me boy", as close as a sentiment as Ravagers or those who worked for them, normally had, whilst Actveia accepted the paise but gave a "He's good company", which was as true as it could get.
Conversations went smoothly between the group since the Staker Ravagers were unclear of what Peter should know, whilst Aleta and Stakar sat there, just listening. Knowing the mission was a success and the Udontas would fill in the gaps later when they got a discreet summons on their communicators.
"Peter why don't you come for a walk with us", Staker asked the little boy, since realisation was dawning on the rest of the crew, but Peter for once his powers hadn't activated and he had only just forgiven the Ogord's for hurting his daddies.
But sliding off Yarovesky's lap and brushing biscuit crumbs off himself, he took their hand and they disappeared from the room, however the separate Ravager Clan, just continued their discussion, whilst Iztel pulled Proctom aside. So, they could talk privately.
"Look lad, you're going to need to hear this when the staff woke up, and realised you weren't there, they pitched a massive bitch fit, was really concerned that "Tomas" you, was really hurt. They had had a panic attack looking for you".
"Really", Proctom replied incredulously, as Iztel carried on, trying to keep his face impassive, at the time whilst the Head Chef was looking for his lad.
The Kitchen has woken up with all the food goon and the young man, who worked so hard after all.
"They were impressed with you, Nova Prime said the Agency wanted to look you over, both thought you were an amazing cook and even said, that there was a job waiting for you if you ever wanted it".
Iztel heisted slightly then realised that it was a dick move, since Proctom, had been given an option in his life, and who the hell was he to take it away from him?
"Getting you a new identity would take seconds, after all, something to consider".
For a moment Proctom thought it over as he leaned against the counter and wondered. Working in a kitchen, being respectable. Being in a job where he would be taken seriously and not treated like shit as he had been for two years, but it wasn't all bad…he had brought it on himself, and he had Iztel…
"I'll stay if that's ok…maybe later…"
Was all he could say whilst Iztel squeezed his shoulder gently.
"Well, it wasn't a total bust you being there, and you get a nice new bespoke suit out of it, the Lord insisted you have it. I was impressed with you too, getting that bomb of that little girl, good job you were there in that captivity, could have blown your cover. Hell, I almost did".
"Yeah, but you did it with style, and I ripped off all the food". Proctom grinned.
"So that's it, boy, you and me are going to dine like Lords, just need our captain not get back and sort the rest of this shit out".
That was pointed towards the Ogord's who had left the room, but Iztel still needed a few things to be sorted and now he just had to wait.
The rest of the crew, just joined in with the usual banter, since they had worked together with ease at this as Mainframe, glorified head, which had magically appeared out of nowhere. Yarovesky wondered if she was a toy, and if someone was messing with him, began to respond to her questions when she asked him if Yondu was a good Captain.
Yarovesky thought it over and wondered if someone was secretly listening to the conversation since none of them truly trusted the Stakar crew. Now knowing what they knew about the Captain and First Mate, but choose to be honest and sincerer as he could.
"Yondu's not good with compliments, in fact, he hardly says it to anyone, that he's impressed with them, or "good work", he uses Kraglin and Horuz for that, not much of a talker either. Everyone sitting there getting wasted, and he's just sitting there listening.
Never likes being the centre of attention. But gives a shit about the welfare of his crew, doesn't take the piss and expects the same of us. Work hard get rewarded, that's his thing, but he does listen. That's something.
You never hear his footsteps, something Kraglin's learned, so sometimes it's just like he appears from nowhere. But he's a damn good Captain, trusts us to do our jobs and loves it if you've got a skill set, insists you teach others too. Basically, hates ignorance".
Yarovesky finished, missing out on the fact that the captain was also a good man, good father and from the sounds of happiness, as in Kraglin screaming like a choir of angels, Yarovesky overheard as he was walking the deck when Peter was elsewhere a damn good husband. That was sappy shit, which he thought the toy, Ravager, understood and responded with a thank you to the Ravager who just shrugged.
