Deathtouched - Chapter 11

Zoe hadn't bothered to dress when she left Candace's room. Candace had given her a searing kiss as she left, Zoe's arms being occupied with carrying her clothes. She then gave Zoe a satisfied smirk before telling her she was welcome back at any time. Zoe was certain that there would be a next time.

Zoe walked toward the showers on legs so wobbly that she could barely stay upright. Judy had given her permission to spend the night saying she might find someone to spend the night with as well. There had been no sleeping last night, Candace being insatiable. Judy had a lot of stamina too, but that wasn't the issue. Candace liked to be... rough. And, even in her sleep deprived state, Zoe found that she preferred it that way. She really needed to talk to Judy.

After a cold shower that had the dual effect of both cleaning her and waking her up a little, Zoe was able to stumble into her and Judy's bed. Sadly, Judy wasn't in it when she lay down and Zoe felt a little disappointed before she was out like a light.

Judy walked in to her and Zoe's darkened room. By the light from the hall, she could see the midnight dark ears poking up out of the covers. Judy had tried to get back before Zoe had, thinking that she'd still be asleep in Candace's room. Unless something happened that caused Zoe to leave! She thought darkly. Judy tried for a while, calling her name and gently shaking her damp shoulder, but nothing worked. Zoe just continued to give off those soft snores that Judy found so adorable. Judy reasoned that the damp shoulder meant, not only did she just come from the showers, but that she had just gotten to bed, maybe just minutes before Judy walked in. She'd ask Candace when she saw her, just to make sure that she had treated her doe right.

oooOOOooo

The week passed and they were in a whirlwind of last minute details for the wedding. Judy had talked to both Candace and Zoe about their night together, so she was satisfied that Candace hadn't overstepped. Zoe also spent the night with Sam, her first time ever with a buck. She enjoyed their time together, but it just wasn't the same. He smelled and tasted different, more musky than she was used to. Not that it was a bad thing, it was just that she preferred how doe's smelled. And he was good, just not as good as Judy or Candace. She also found that she didn't like the sensation condoms gave but it was better than getting pregnant. Thinking about it, Zoe decided that she did like having sex with bucks, but preferred doe's a lot more.

oooOOOooo

Judy's 16th birthday arrived just day's before their wedding. Birthdays weren't really celebrated by the entire family given how many there were in a year. Mostly, they were celebrated only by close family members; those in the same litter, parents and children, and so on. It was no surprise when Judy announced her intention to be a cop with the ZPD during her Rite of Ascension.

Zoe was kneeling in the center of the largest open space in their room, wearing nothing but the restraints she'd bought at Bunny Hearts. It had taken her a while to get the cuffs on correctly, her paws noticeably shaking, and putting the locks on hadn't been easy either. The collar was much easier as she was able to use both hands, but she had to look in the mirror to get the lock on correctly. The key to the locks were in the little tray that Judy kept on her nightstand. Zoe had taken certain items out of the cabinet where her and Judy kept their personal things and laid them out on the bed, letting Judy choose whatever she wanted to use.

Zoe glanced at the clock again, Judy's shift had ended minutes ago and would, hopefully, be on her way to the room right now. The suspense was killing Zoe, she was holding the chain lead going to her collar in her hands which were resting on her thighs. Her collar had a little heart shaped tag with writing on it attached to the front 'D' ring, the same one that her lead was attached to. Zoe just hoped that Judy liked it. Zoe was still a little worried about someone barging in, even though the rule was to knock, then wait for an answer before opening the door.

The door suddenly opened and when Zoe looked up, she could see Judy standing in the doorway. Zoe lowered her gaze to the floor in front of her as Judy entered the room, closing the door behind her. Judy was instantly entranced by Zoe and how the red restraints looked so sexy against her ebony fur. As Judy padded slowly over to Zoe, Zoe raised her lead and presented it to Judy. Then she repeated the words she'd been working on for weeks, "Mistress, I give you my mind, my body, and my soul. I love you and cherish every part you take from me, for I give it to you willingly."

Zoe heard Judy's breath hitch and then felt the lead taken from her paws, which she then placed, pad up, on her thighs.

Judy tugged lightly on the lead and said "I pledge to you, My Pet, patience and understanding, tolerance and steadfastness, allowing us to grow and nurture the bond we have established."

Their oaths completed, Judy reached down and pulled the tag on Zoe's collar to the side and read Property of Judy Hopps. Letting the tag drop, Judy asked a question that she already knew the answer to. "I take it that this is the other present I get to 'unwrap'?"

Humbly, just like Abby suggested, Zoe answered "Yes Mistress."

"And where did you find these items?"

"At Bunny Hearts in Zootopia Mistress."

Judy's connected the dots easily, "And this is where Abby works, yes?"

"Yes Mistress."

"And Candace is the one who told you where this Bunny Hearts was located?"

"Yes Mistress."

Judy nodded and looked at the items left on the bed and smiled, she already loved her birthday gift and was very much looking forward to 'unwrapping' it.

Zoe was on the bed, the front of her shoulders on the blanket while her knees were next to her ribs, her twitching tail high in the air. Her front paws were still bound behind her back, her legs were trembling violently, and she was rapidly panting. Her eyes were rolled up in her head, which was hard to tell given their natural color, or rather, lack of color. And her muzzle was open with her tongue laying on the bed in a pile of drool. All of this Zoe was totally unaware of. All she knew at this time was that she was floating, completely enveloped in a cloud of absolute bliss.

Judy noticed the signs of subspace as she removed the harness she had on, and then unclipped the nickle plated double snap hook holding the two paw cuffs together. As soon as she released the cuffs, Zoe's arms dropped bonelessly to her sides.

Well, Judy thought with satisfaction, she did say she preferred it rough. Looks like she was right.

Judy straightened Zoe out until she was laying comfortably on the bed and then crawled in with her. Pulling Zoe tight against her, Judy started talking to her softly while gently stroking her fur, slowly bringing Zoe out of subspace.

Zoe could sense the cloud she was nestled in start to slowly fade away. On some primal level, she wanted to stay in this state forever. Then she heard her wife calling her. It would be a few days before Judy was actually her wife, but Zoe had been thinking about her that way for a while now. She opened her eyes to feel Judy behind her, Judy's breasts pressed against her back. She was reclined, which meant that Judy was sitting with her back against their headboard. Judy was gently stroking the fur on her neck, shoulders, and arms as she spoke, letting Zoe know that everything was okay. Of course everything was okay. Judy had shown how much she enjoyed Zoe's present, which led to Zoe enjoying it as well. The last several hours had been immensely pleasurable for both does, if for different reasons.

Zoe still felt like she couldn't move, her muscles turned to jello. When she was finally able to talk, Zoe mumbled, "Now I know what Abby felt like that time at the lake, I don't think I can move."

"You were in subspace my Love."

Zoe hummed, then asked, "I hope that we can do this again on our wedding night. I think it might take me that long to recover."

Judy snickered, "And just think, we'll have Abby with us as well."

A sound that seemed a cross between a hum of pleasure and a growl of desire escaped Zoe's lips as she thought of Abby, she was so ready to reduce her white furred doe into a puddle of rapture again. And then again. Maybe a third time as well.

oooOOOooo

Abby had finished the last of her tests for the year and was finishing plans for her wedding and honeymoon when Steve walked in. The ocelot was the night shift cashier at Bunny Hearts, and had hit on her before, although Abby wasn't sure if he was serious or not. He was nice, but Abby wasn't attracted to him, even if she thought his fur was gorgeous.

"So," he said as he walked up beside her, "getting married soon huh?"

"Just a few more days Steve, I'll be leaving tomorrow morning."

"Too bad, if you'd agreed to go out with me I would have given you a night to remember." He said with a friendly smile, letting her know he was only joking. His words did affect Abby, causing her memories of the time she and her two doe's had spent together to pass before her eyes. How much time passed she wasn't sure as she became aware of Steve's paw waving in front her her muzzle and his saying "Abby? Hello? Zootopia to Abby, come in Abby."

Abby shook her head and said "I'm sorry, what?"

Steve chuckled, "Your fiance must be amazing to cause you to zone out like that."

Abby grinned, "Yeah, they're fantastic!"

Startled, Steve repeated, "They're?" A

bby nodded, "Yeah, I'm going to be the third in Judy and Zoe's marriage."

"Judy and Zoe? Two doe's? I didn't know you swung that way Abby."

Sighing happily, Abby said "Neither did I."

Steve gave her a hug and congratulated her before she gathered her things and left. She was practically bouncing as she walked home in record time.

oooOOOooo

It was the morning of Zoe's wedding and she was a nervous wreck. Her mind was going a million miles an hour and in all directions. One of the things she was thankful for was that, since she was no longer human, she didn't have to fight with her hair to get it just right. On the downside, her paws were shaking so hard that, when she tried to grasp something and pick it up, she kept dropping it. Judy would have been amused, but she was pretty much in the same boat as Zoe. After all, she'd never been married before either. Surprisingly, Abby was the one that was the most together of the three.

All of them were wearing off white dresses and garlands of wildflowers on their heads, which was good since Abby's dress differed from her fur just enough so that it was apparent she had clothes on. Abby had arrived with her mother, Gloria, a pretty bunny with chocolate brown fur and eyes who looked too young to have a kit Abby's age, and with Tammy in tow.

She'd called Judy and explained that, since her father had abandoned her and her mother when she was born, she'd asked Tammy to give her away. They were both introduced to the family and friends that were present; Bonnie and Stu of course, Sam and Candace, Drake, Mary, and Oscar rounded out the family. The Greys were there including Marge, who beamed at Zoe, as well as Edgar and Walter.

The wedding party was standing around, mingling, while waiting for the Priestess of Hera to show up and perform the ceremonies. Both Zoe and Judy recognized the predatory stance Candace had as she talked to Gloria and both wondered if Gloria was going to be spending the night alone tonight.

Everyone turned at the sound of an engine coming up the Hopps driveway. The three doe's had chosen to get married in the field by the Hopps burrow, the one right next to the copse of trees. There was a large canopy tent over tables laden with food of various sorts, including some delicacies geared toward a fox's palate. There were rows of seats for everyone to sit in, including extras in case anyone else in the family wanted to show up. The group could see a large white car coming slowly down the drive and as it got closer, they could tell it was a white limo, every window tinted with the exception of the windshield.

When the car stopped, the driver, a ram, got out and walked to the back of the limo. Opening the door, the Priestess of Hera from the downtown Tri-burrows area, exited the car. She was a middle aged cougar wearing a dark blue robe and a deep green mantle. The mantle was embroidered with blue peacock feathers, lily's, and scepters. She was followed by an ewe and a vixen, both dressed in the same colors, but without the decorations.

The two mammals, both acolytes, flanked the Priestess. As they began walking toward the group, the Priestess's gaze looked for, and found, the brides. Seeing Zoe's eyes, the Priestess barely paused as she sedately walked toward them, only to be intercepted by Bonnie and Stu who began thanking her for officiating. As the Priestess conversed with the Hopps parents, she kept throwing glances at the three doe's, mainly Zoe. This was making Zoe feel very nervous again and she wasn't sure why. When the Priestess was finally able to break away from the proud parents, she gracefully strode to the three huddled brides.

As she approached, Zoe could see the serenity and peace in her eyes, the knowledge of things that most would never understand. The Priestess paused a few feet from the doe's and said, in a calm, soothing voice, "Greetings young ones, I am Vivian, Priestess of Hera, and I will be the one to officiate your ceremonies. May I have the pleasure of your names?"

"I'm Judy."

"Zoe."

"Abigail."

The cougar smiled gently and said "Well met Judy, Zoe, and Abigail. We'll get the ceremony started soon, but first I must say; Zoe, I see you've been blessed by both Melinoe, and by Hades himself. You, my dear, walk with the gods and it is a distinct pleasure to meet you."

"Uh, thanks?" Zoe was stunned at this revelation. She knew that ghosts existed so it wasn't that far of a stretch to believe that the gods did as well. But being blessed by them? It was a lot to take in.

The Priestess and her acolytes soon had everything ready and had Judy and Zoe facing each other in front of her. She then raised her paws to the heavens and stated, "The gods created mammals to populate the planet they had made. They made them varied in appearance and temperament so that they could learn from each other. Each god took a domain for themselves, Zeus for the skies, Poseidon for the seas, Hades for the underworld. The other gods chose as well. My goddess, Hera, the wife of Zeus, chose the realm of marriage to rule over, to bless unions, and punish those that stray. But when the gods made the rabbit, Aphrodite filled them with so much love that they had to share it with others. So, in Her great wisdom, Hera allowed rabbits the right to share their love with others outside the sanctity of marriage. We are here today to bind Judith Laverne Hopps and Zoe Bree Hopps in marriage. These doe's have professed their love for each other and expressed their wish to be bound together in marriage.

Judy, do you declare before the gods that you give yourself to Zoe, to always keep her, love her, and care for her in all ways?"

Judy grinned widely as she answered, "With all my heart and soul!"

Zoe couldn't help responding with an equally wide grin.

"Zoe, do you declare before the gods that you give yourself to Judy, to always keep her, love her, and care for her in all ways?"

"With everything that I am!"

"Hold out the rings please."

Judy and Zoe held up their rings, plain circular bands, so that all could see.

"These rings represent the love you share, as the ring has no end, so shall your love. Please exchange the rings."

Judy placed the band on Zoe's ring finger and then Zoe did the same for Judy. They both heard a thud as their dad passed out, but it barely registered to Judy or Zoe, both only had eyes for the other.

"As these two rabbits have declared before this group of mammals, and before the gods themselves, their love and commitment to the other, I proclaim them bound in marriage!"

The wedding party cheered as the two doe's crashed together, wrapped their arms around each other, and kissed passionately. The Priestess smiled benignly, her being filled with happiness, just as it did every time she was able to officiate at a wedding. She had felt her goddess bless the union through her, but she also felt... other energies as well. Giving the group time to express their pleasure at the binding of the two, The Priestess raised her paws again as the party settled down.

"Judy and Zoe have expressed the desire to add a third to their marriage, as Abigail has accepted, I now call her to join the wives now before me. Abigail Lynn Walker, please come forward."

Judy and Zoe turned to watch Abby, assisted by Tammy, sedately walk up the aisle. Abby seemed to be crying, but her ears were standing high and she was filled with so much energy she was practically bouncing on the pads of her feet. The grin on her muzzle reflected her happiness. As she reached her soon-to-be wives, both took one of her paws and held them as the Priestess began the ceremony.

"Some mammals are content with one mate, yet others have enough love to share with many. Rabbits are one such mammal. Judy, do you wish to add Abigail into your marriage with Zoe, to love and care for her equally?"

"With all my heart and soul."

"Zoe, do you wish to add Abigail into your marriage with Judy, to love and care for her equally?"

"With all my heart and soul." Zoe echoed Judy's response.

"Abigail, is it your wish to join these two doe's in marriage, to love and care for them equally?"

Abby was practically glowing with joy as she answered, "With all my heart and soul!"

"Judy, Zoe, please place the ring on Abigail's finger."

Judy gleefully held Abby's paw while Zoe, looking directly into Abby's eyes, slid the ring onto her finger unerringly.

"Then, with the gods as witness, I declare Abigail to be the wife of Judy and Zoe Hopps!"

Again, the wedding party cheered as Judy and Zoe took turns kissing their wife and then engaged in a three way hug. All of them were crying, their tears falling over each other, but they didn't care. The joy they felt in their union eclipsed everything else.

As they sat and ate afterwards, Judy and Zoe got to know their mother-in-law better and the same for Abby. Gloria was startled to learn that Zoe was considered part of the Grey family and, by extension, her and Abby now as well. While not as fearful of foxes as the bunnies in Bunnyburrow, it was a lot to take in. And when she learned that Zoe was an Entry and what that meant, she almost fainted.

As the reception started to wind down, the Priestess approached where the three wives were sitting and addressed Zoe. "Please," She asked, "Walk with me?"

While taken aback, Zoe couldn't refuse her. Kissing her two wives, she got up and followed the priestess out from under the canopy. Zoe was surprised when the Priestess reached down, grasped her paw and guided her toward the woods. As they entered the tree line, the priestess queried her, "What do you plan to do once you reach the age of Ascension young doe?"

"I was thinking about joining the ZPD after college."

"Hmmm. That is where you feel you should be?"

"I don't know. I have certain abilities that could prove useful in that line of work."

"More than just interacting with spirits?"

Zoe stopped dead in her tracks and her jaw dropped open in shock. "How do you know that?!"

"I may have heard some things. About a young doe with colorless eyes that saved a vixen. Plus, I can see the energies in your aura. You've been touched by many gods young one. I can see not only Hades and Melinoe, but also Hermes and the hand of Fate. Can you feel their influence as well Zoe?"

"I... guess? Besides being able to talk to spirits, sometimes I can just know where things are, or touch something and know things about it. I get nudges about things, that's how Judy and I got together and how I met Abby. That's why I think I'd make a good cop, being able to do all those things."

"True, you would make a good officer. But, if I may suggest another possibility?"

"What would you suggest Priestess?"

"Would you consider entering the priesthood?"

Zoe repeated her earlier action of stopping and dropping her jaw. "Uh, no... I've never considered it actually. I thought that the priesthood was a calling."

"You should. You could still be a cop if you wished. I, myself, own an accounting firm in addition to performing my duties for Hera. Aaron, the High Priest of Melinoe, is moving on in years and is looking for a worthy mammal to replace him when he passes. I think you'd be an ideal candidate. He has a similar ability to yours, although he can only get impressions. As for it being a calling, you are quite correct. The desire to serve a god or goddess must come from within. The idea of divine inspiration suddenly filling one with a sense of purpose is all well and good, and does happen, just rarely. But it's the slow, deep, realization that you can serve that leads to the dedicated priest or priestess."

Zoe's mind was officially blown. Her? Become a High Priestess? Curious, she asked, "What could I have to do?"

"Not much more than you do now, help spirits move on, comfort their loved ones, officiate over burials."

"I... can I think about it?"

"Yes, I just wanted to give you the idea. Whether or not you accept will be up to you, although I hope that you do."

The Priestess had guided Zoe back to the canopy and to her chair next to her wives and bid her farewell. Zoe mind was still abuzz with the implications of her conversation with the Priestess of Hera, so it took a bit before she realized that Judy was trying to get her attention.

"Zoe? Z? What did the Priestess want?"

Zoe shook her head and said in an awed voice "She wants me to take over as the High Priestess of Melinoe when the current High Priest passes on."

Everyone within earshot, which was most of the mammals present, stopped talking and looked wide eyed at Zoe. The Priestess simply gave a small smile and a nod in Zoe's direction.

With Zoe partially out of it, it fell on Judy and Abby to help her in threading her way past their family and friends, who rained flower petals down on the newlyweds. They made their way to their favorite spot. Abby had accepted the idea of a honeymoon in a tent with great enthusiasm. She said that she would always have fond memories of the area as the place where she was able to be with her two loves for the first time. Judy and Zoe had bought wolf sized sleeping bags and spread them open inside the tent, taking up most of the room, with most of the supplies staying in the bed of the truck.

They spent most of the afternoon inside, Zoe and Abby learning more about the dynamics of three doe's being together. A quick dip in the lake to clean off, then dinner and more dynamics after. They spent time hiking through the woods, having sex when they found a small clearing, more hiking, swimming, having sex, stargazing, having more sex, until, with great sadness, the honeymoon for the three doe's was forced to come to an end.

oooOOOooo

Zoe actually wailed when Abby had to leave again, her tears falling onto the train platform like rain. Judy felt the sadness of Abby leaving as well, but was able to keep herself together much better than her first wife. Abby felt the same desolation as Zoe, but was comforted by the fact that Judy would be joining her soon. The thought also saddened her as that meant that Zoe would soon be left alone. The pain of that thought troubled both Judy and Abby. Together they talked to Candace and Sam, asking both to watch out for Zoe and take care of her. They also told Zoe she had permission to spend the night with whomever she wished. Zoe, of course, sullenly refused to consider it.

Judy spent as much time with Zoe as possible, both of them going in to Zootopia as often as they could to spend time with Abby. They would go to Good Eats quite a lot to eat and see Tammy, then explore the sights that Zootopia had to offer. They would go see Gloria and spend time with her, enjoying her company. The way that Gloria kept asking after Candace both amused and delighted the wives.

Abby had found a new apartment. It was a two bedroom with a master suite which now included a huge bed, designed for two wolves to sleep in comfort. Meaning plenty of room for the three of them. Well, six to eight bunnies actually.

The day that Zoe had been dreading ultimately arrived, Judy was leaving to go to college. a few dozen family members had decided to attend, along with their mom and dad. Everyone kept expecting Zoe to be a blubbering mess, but she seemed to be taking it well. At least until Judy's train passed from sight and Zoe collapsed on the platform. Candace gently picked the unresponsive doe up and held her tenderly in her arms. Several family members seemed surprised at this display of affection, after all, Candace was well known as a doe that loved her sex and seemed to have no favorites.

Candace had some difficulty in opening the door to her bedroom as she still had the unresponsive Zoe in her arms. She carried Zoe to the bed and crawled in beside her. Candace cradled Zoe as Zoe silently cried herself to sleep.

oooOOOooo

Zoe spent the entire week with Candace who, to Zoe's surprise, never tried to initiate anything with her. Instead, Candace took care of Zoe, making sure she got up to use the bathroom and take showers, making sure Zoe ate, even if she had to bring the meals to her room. It wasn't until Candace took Zoe to the Nursery that Zoe started taking an interest in things again. On the last night that Zoe spent in Candace's room, she was the one to initiate things. Laying in bed, she started nuzzling and kissing Candace on her neck and shoulders. Candace, more than willing to reciprocate, began kissing her back.

Afterwards, as they lay together, Zoe began to suggest that Candace join her in her marriage. She had barely begun when Candace's paw covered her muzzle and she explained that, while she did love Zoe, she wasn't in love with her. Candace told her that she enjoyed the freedom to pick and choose her partners whenever she wanted and not have to get permission from anyone else to do so. Zoe understood and accepted Candace's decision and, while giving the doe a heartfelt hug, let Candace know that she would always have a special place in Zoe's heart.

oooOOOooo

Zoe returned to her normal routine for the most part. Now that Judy was gone, she spent even more time in the Nursery. There she took comfort from the little kits as well as thinking about what Vivian had talked to her about. She could see it working, and there were no negatives she could determine. The feeling she was getting, while not a nudge, was that she should do it. When she told her parents, they were very enthusiastic. Being a member of a priesthood could offer her a degree of protection that most mammals didn't have as reverence for the gods was widespread.

So Zoe called Vivian, who set her up with an appointment to see Oscar Belcher, the local Priest of Melinoe in the downtown Tri-burrows area. Zoe parked down the street from the address she was given. From her vantage point, the address looked like a regular office building. She got out and walked down to the front, where the sign on the building read Belcher General Contracting.

Opening the door, she walked in to see a rabbit buck with a mix of grey and black fur and blue eyes look up as she entered. Zoe was, naturally, a little nervous as she approached the buck. He was obviously checking her out and, while Zoe could tell he noticed her wedding ring, didn't seem to give it any consideration. Of course, he could possibly change his mind if she took her sunglasses off.

"Good morning! Belcher General Contracting, how can I help you today?"

"I have an appointment to see Mr. Belcher. I'm Zoe, Zoe Hopps."

The buck leaned forward and put his elbow on the counter between them, trying to give Zoe his best bedroom eyes, and asked, "This is regarding?"

The buck was rude, the appointment wasn't any of his business and she was in no mood to let anyone hit on her. So, she decided to have a little fun with him. She leaned forward, her nose coming within inches of the buck's, and said, "Tell him that the baby is his, and my wives aren't happy about it."

The buck jerked back and gurgled, his features reflecting the shock he felt. Keeping his startled gaze on her, he reached behind him and slapped his paw on the desk several times before it landed on the phone. Zoe looked at him and said, "Now, make sure you tell him exactly what I just told you."

She then pulled her sunglasses off and looked the buck straight into his, now terrified, blue eyes. His eyes never leaving Zoe's white ones, it took the buck several times to push the right button for his boss. Zoe had no problem hearing the conversation. "Yes Kevin?"

"S... sir, there's a... a doe here. Sh... she says she has an appointment and she says the baby is yours and that her wives aren't happy about it."

It was about ten seconds before Mr. Belcher answered, "And the name of this doe that's carrying my child?"

Zoe snickered. She liked Mr. Belcher already, with him deciding on playing along with her joke.

"A Mrs. Zoe Hopps Sir."

"Ah, yes, Zoe. Beautiful isn't she? I'll have to figure out something to placate her wives because she's just irresistible. Send her in then hold all my calls, and no visitors."

"Y... yes Sir. Ma'am, you can go in." The poor buck was in such a state that he forgot to hang up the phone until it started beeping at him loudly. By the time he did, the doe with the strange eyes had entered the office and closed the door. Sitting down hard in his office chair, the bewildered buck sat there wondering what in the blue blazes was going on.

Zoe entered the office and saw a large beaver sitting behind a desk strewn with papers and diagrams. The nameplate, almost buried underneath what appeared to be blueprints, read 'Oscar P. Belcher'. Mr. Belcher seemed to be in his mid to late thirties if Zoe read his species correctly. She also noticed that he had Melinoe's symbol as a pin attached to his collar. He had a kind face, and his eyes reminded Zoe of Vivian's. He stood with a wide grin on his muzzle as Zoe approached and walked around the desk to greet her. Holding out his paw, he took hers in a firm handshake. "Mrs. Hopps, a true pleasure to meet you! Vivian told me a little about you. But first, please tell me about what you did to poor Kevin, it was priceless!"

And he started chuckling.

Zoe giggled "Please call me Zoe Mr. Belcher. He was checking me out as I came in, not caring that I was wearing my wedding ring. That I could handle, what irritated me was, when I explained I had an appointment, he insisted on knowing why."

Mr. Belcher threw his head back and laughed. "I love it! And I'm sorry, he shouldn't have done that. He's the son of a friend and I hired him as a favor. Kevin views himself as a ladies mammal. And please, call me Oscar!"

Zoe smiled and said, "Thank you Oscar."

"Please, have a seat!" He said, gesturing toward a slightly battered couch against one of the walls.

"Thank you."

Oscar joined her, leaving plenty of room between them. "Now, Vivian told me a little about you, but I'd like to hear it from you."

So Zoe explained about how she had died and woke up in Zootopia in the Hopp's pumpkin patch. That she was an Entry and found out her eyes were void of any pigmentation, and how, even in her previous life, she could see and talk to spirits. How she would tend to know things, like where lost items were. Where she could sometimes touch stuff and know things about it. She explained about how she sometimes just knew things and how she would get nudges urging her to follow a certain course of action.

Smiling, she mentioned that by following one such nudge, she'd met Abby, her and Judy's third. She explained meeting Vivian, who officiated her wedding, and their conversation afterwards. Oscar listened attentively, nodding or responding according to her explanation. He was astounded by Zoe's story. An Entry! Oscar let his vision shift and looked at her aura. The doe had a strong spirit, and loving nature. He could see the influence of the gods affecting her, the principle two being Hades and Melinoe.

When she finished he nodded. "So, Vivian suggested you may want to join the Priesthood of Melinoe. You would be an superb fit for our order, and I agree with her, I see you being the High Priestess in a very short period of time."

"But, what about people such as you? Don't you have seniority or something?"

Oscar laughed again, "Zoe, those of us that serve, serve where we are needed. I'm happy just being a simple Priest of Melinoe. My business keeps me busy and my position fills the need I have to help my community. But you, Zoe, came to us by the gods with abilities never heard of before. Our High Priest, Aaron, can only feel when spirits are around and get impressions from them. That's why he's our high priest, no one else could do what he's able to. Until you came along that is."

Zoe sat thinking about what Oscar had said. Evidently there wouldn't be any resentment if she were to rise over the heads of mammals that had been in the priesthood longer than she'd been alive, well, both lives combined. And being able to help even more people touched a part of her deep inside.

Oscar's words broke through her thoughts when he said "Besides, we could use someone with your sense of humor, some members of the different priesthoods have an overinflated sense of worth, usually the Priests of Zeus."

Zoe giggled. Composing herself, she asked "What do I need to do?"

Relaxing, Oscar leaned back against the arm of the couch with a smile on his muzzle. "Well, for you, you would be fast-tracked through. You'll have to learn the duties and rituals required, I'd say maybe nine months to a year as an acolyte before making Priestess. Then, when Aaron dies, you'll move into his position as High Priestess." He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his thighs. "When do you reach the age of Ascension?"

"In a little over two years."

Oscar grinned. "That's perfect! A year as an acolyte, a year as a priestess, then you go to Zootopia and can learn under Aaron."

It seemed good to Zoe, so she agreed. They talked some more about different things before Zoe had to leave. As Oscar was walking her to the door, Zoe got a mischievous thought which was reflected on her face. Oscar noticed and, with a smile, asked, "What?"

"Would you be willing to play along with me one more time?" She said, grinning.

Oscar's smile grew into a full fledged grin. "Absolutely!"

After Zoe exited the office, she sighed heavily, turned and said, "Oscar, you were amazing as always! And I'm sure my wives would love for the kit to be named 'Kevin' if it's a boy! Please tell me I get to see you again soon?" She said the last part with an overdone pout.

"Absolutely Hun. And let your wives know that if either cares to visit..."

Another pout, "Who says I want to share you?"

She then leaned forward and kissed Oscar on the cheek before turning and leaving. Zoe tried not to look at Kevin, but she caught a glimpse of him, jaw on the floor, eyes wide, and paws gripping the edge of his desk as he stared at the doe's retreating form as she put her sunglasses back on. Zoe was able to make it about a half block away, giggling the entire time, before she leaned against a store front and burst out laughing. Some mammals looked at her curiously, which only made her laugh harder, tears running down her face. Minutes passed before Zoe was able to regain control. She wiped away her tears and, feeling better than she had in a while, got in her truck and headed home.

A/N: Well, to be honest, the thing about the different priesthoods kind of just snuck in. You know how it happens, you start writing and then the characters decide that they want to take the story in a different direction. Since it seemed to fit with the story I wanted to tell, I decided to let them go for it. I hadn't intended on Zoe becoming so prominent, but I figure, why not?

I didn't get Zoe in college yet, so much for me making predictions. I won't do it anymore I promise. I'm just going to let the story develop as it wants to and enjoy the ride. Fair warning: More time jumps ahead.
