The Unplanned Detour - Epilogue

Zoe gave birth to a girl cub whom they named 'Grace'. She had her mother's light grey fur color but, to her dad's disappointment and her mother's joy, she had Dylan's grey eyes. She would also display her dad's skills with math and computers as she got older. She followed in her dad's footsteps and ended up becoming lead programmer for her dad's company.

Zoe finished her residency and became Dr. Ambrose, specializing in Pediatrics. A year afterwards, she gave birth to the twins, Zack and Felicity. Both parents were hoping for a break before having more, the twins proving to be a pawfull. Fate had other ideas and, two years after Zack and Felicity's birth, she bore another set of twins, Caitlyn and Crystal. They weren't the last. Her and Dylan's love grew even stronger through the years and she never once regretted giving him the Old Oath.

Rachel regretfully left Crossroads and struck out on her own with the bands full support. She did rather well for herself, but she never forgot where she started. They would happily get together for a concert once every other year or so.

Tara took Rachel's place as a vocalist, learning how to play some of the instruments as well. After dating several mammals, even some of other species, she realized that none of the mammals she dated could meet her expectations. After admitting this to Zoe and talking to her, as well as her parents, she confessed her love to Dylan. With Zoe advocating repeatedly for her, and with her parent's blessing, Dylan began dating Tara. Dylan's feelings of affection for her grew stronger as time went on until he finally admitted to himself that he loved Tara also. Tara married Dylan on her 17th birthday using the Ancient Rites and giving him the Old Oath just as her sister had. A year later, Tara would give birth to their first cub. They named her 'Amy', meaning 'Beloved'. They would have several more throughout the years and they fell even more in love.

Arthur married another wolf named Barnaby, surprising the whole family as no one had a clue that he was gay. Of course, Barnaby was subjected to a stringent background check, including an unofficial one done by Dylan. Being made aware of the plight of fox kits, they adopted two of their own and fostered several more.

Dylan's business proved to be an enormous success. When the laptops his company produced came out, they flew off the store shelves, as well as several different games designed to run on the system. Even though he was now fabulously wealthy, Dylan still enjoyed coding. And the announcement of his plans to make an MMORPG had mammals eagerly anticipating it's release. Dylan even gave some stock in his company to Robert.

After his marriage to Tara, Dylan had more free time to code, producing even more and more popular games for his company. Tara happily took care of the cubs and even learned to cook to help out with the chores. Dylan was extremely thankful to his first wife who convinced him to start dating Tara.

Crossroads fan base continued to grow. They still performed mostly country songs, but they did do several concerts where they played rock. A year after Tara joined the band full time, they were invited to play at the Zootennial Stadium in Animalia, the same one where Gazelle played in right after the Night Howler incident. They were a huge hit.

Rick continued to show his genius in pushing out ever newer versions of their laptops. He was even in the middle of designing a new product inspired from a talk he'd had once with Dylan, something called a 'gaming console'. He later married his long time girlfriend Tammy. They had several kits of their own.

Dylan couldn't find a house to rent or buy that met his standards, so he had one built in the Twilight ranges about a half mile from his in laws. Zoe squealed in delight when he told her. After the house was built, they moved in along with Desiree and Amanda. Zoe was happily surprised when Dylan showed her the locked door off their bedroom and revealed it to be a BDSM play room, she begged him to use it the first night they moved in. Having heard about it from her sister, Tara insisted on trying the room out as well, over and over and over again.

Amanda tried hard to get Dylan to sleep with her. Dylan had to explain that he loved her as a friend and not as a lover. She ended up dating and marrying Eddie. She had to admit that she was happy with Eddie, but she still carried a torch for Dylan. They would still visit upon occasion where Amanda would ogle Dylan when no one seemed to be looking.

Mayor Fairbreeze refused to run for another term in spite of a huge upswelling of support. After turning the city over to Renard, a ram, she quietly faded into the background. Carl Hopps stayed on for six more months to ease the transition before he followed Jillian into obscurity.

Fabienne Growly never married. She felt lucky to be able to keep her job when it was discovered that her producer, whom she'd been sleeping with, was implicated in being part of a drug ring selling a derivative of the Night Howler serum. While cleared of any wrongdoing, it still hurt her career. Carl Hopps just shook his head at the headlines and carried his and his wife's drinks out to the lounge chairs. Lillian was wearing a white, one piece bathing suit, sunglasses, and a straw hat when he set his wife's drink beside her. Her relaxed smile warmed Carl's heart.

Nick made Sergeant with the ZPD while Judy turned down the Lieutenant position that she was offered. She said she preferred to be on the streets where she felt she'd be able to do the most good. His and Judy's kit, Katie, was spoiled, but not spoiled rotten, by not only her parents, but by her aunt and uncle as well. Her and her cousin, Grace, became as close as sisters, calling each other and talking about potential boyfriends. Kate expressed a desire to follow after her famous parents and become an officer in the ZPD.

Dawn Bellwether spent the rest of her life in prison. Dylan's program caught several hidden codes in her mail until she was informed that any more instances of coded messages would result in loss of privileges.

In recognition of the information that he gave, Stan was put in the Mammal Protection Program where he was given a new identity and moved to Predburg. He was admitted into the college there where he finished his degree in Architecture. He ended up doing very well for himself and even started his own firm.

Belisarius seemed to have disappeared from Zootopia. Several cops suggested that it was because they were actively looking for the mammal, but Nick knew differently. Through his contacts, Nick found out that Belisarius had crossed Mr. Big, which was the last mistake the tiger ever made.

Alexis married the Harvard quarterback during their junior year. However, her dreams of being a trophy wife were dashed when her husband blew out his knee in his senior year thereby preventing him from ever having a professional career. He took his Physical Education degree and became the gym teacher and football coach for a local high school. Alexis was forced to become a waitress to make ends meet. She would occasionally wonder about Dylan, who seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth. No trace of him had ever been found and Alexis wondered if, some years down the road, someone would find his bones in a shallow grave.

A/N: Okay, that's a wrap. I think I covered everything, but it's possible that I did miss someone. If I did, sorry. I do have an idea for a sequel to this story, which will be another human in Zootopia one. I just need to plan out how I want the story to go before I start writing it.
