Chapter 5 Attempting to distract Ash
Frank and Robin weren't sure about how to make Ash rethink her life choices including her relationship with Johnny. The only thing they could think of was trying to attempt to spend time with Ash without her boyfriend. One day while Ash was running errands she got a call from her Mom. "Hi Mom, what's up? I'm kinda busy right now," Ash told her Mom on the phone. "Not much dear. I was hoping you, me and your dad can go to the mall. We can windowshop and maybe buy some random stuff. We can even get one of those giant cookies that you loved as a kid." Ash thought about her mom's offer and said, "Alright fine I'm almost done with what I'm doing anyway. Plus I don't have plans with Johnny today because he is getting into some extra piano lessons with Miss Crawly to perfect a song he is learning."
When Robin heard that Johnny was busy it made her happy because she and Frank would have Ash to themselves. Robin told Ash where to meet up after Ash was done with her errands. As soon as Ash was done she headed to the mall to meet her parents. "Hey sweetie glad you could make it" Frank said to Ash. "No problem Dad, so which store are we visiting first?" Ash asked. The three of them did some window shopping first and went inside a few stores to see if anything caught their eyes and bought things that they like. Later on they went to the food court to get something to eat including the giant cookie Frank and Robin promised Ash. Even though Ash couldn't believe it but she was actually enjoying her outing with her parents. A short while later Ash got a text message from her boyfriend Johnny. Ash smiled at the text message which her parents noticed. "You seem happy. I bet it was because you got to enjoy a day with us like when you were a little girl" Frank pointed out to Ash. "I never imagined enjoying a trip to the mall with you and Mom since we haven't done that since before I became a teenager. Thank you both but the reason why I'm happy is because Johnny told me he nailed the song he has been practicing with Miss Crawly and he wants me to hear it so I'm going to see him later so I need to get back home to get ready" Ash told her parents.
Frank and Robin didn't like the idea of Ash leaving so soon before they could talk about the things on their minds. "Wait Ash do you need to hurry off? We were enjoying ourselves" Frank pointed out. "Your father is right dear and besides I believe I saw a shop that sells things that a young lady such as yourself would like" Robin exclaimed as she and Frank took Ash to this store in the mall that Ash's parents wanted to show her. When Ash saw what was inside she wasn't interested at first because Ash mostly saw girly clothing that she didn't care for. Before Ash left the store she saw something that caught her eye. "Did you see something that you like?" Ash's mom asked. "Yes I did and I'm gonna go get it" said Ash as she headed to the makeup section. "I've been looking for this makeup set for a while because it has been sold out due to it being popular. Ash showed her parents the makeup set that matched the dark colors Ash likes to wear especially when she is rocking out. Her parents thought she was going to get the makeup set with the bright colors but they were proven wrong.
Ash was happy that she found what she was looking for. "I'm gonna go pay for this" Ash stated and before she could head to the register her dad offered to pay for it. "Thanks Dad, I appreciated it very much." After Frank paid for the makeup set Ash wanted, Ash told her parents, "Today was fun but I'm going to meet Johnny. Maybe I'll try on this makeup to see how Johnny likes it. "Ok sweetie have fun" Robin said as Ash left the mall to go meet up with Johnny. Frank and Robin weren't too happy that their daughter left before they could talk more. As for Ash she went home to freshen up and meet Johnny. When Ash met up with Johnny the couple were happy to see each other and Ash told Johnny about her outing with her parents. "Well it seems like you and your folks had fun and I love the new rockstar makeup you're wearing. I know you've been looking for it for a while" said Johnny as he kissed Ash before playing the song that he practiced with Miss Crawly.
Meanwhile back at the hotel where Ash's parents were staying, they weren't too happy that they couldn't talk to Ash about her life choices including her relationship with Johnny. "Well today didn't go as planned," Robin pointed out. "True my dear but we still have time before we return home and hopefully our little girl will listen to us" stated Frank as he and Robin thought of other ways to have the conversation with their daughter.
Author's Note: Hello people on the internet that like fan fiction. I know it's been a while since I last updated. I've been busy with stuff including my job. Also my laptop doesn't want to know properly anymore. Makes sense because it's really old. However, no worries I have my main computer which thanks to my nephew he helped me update it.
