Lucifer realized God listened to prayers of Chloe. Lucifer wanted to know why dad listens to her… so dad showed up and explained. At the time of the Big Bang he gave the cosmological constant a wrong value, he needs help to warn himself and change that value. He tells them Chloe and Lucifer together will give that help without realizing.

For the last case Raziel, and some more sisters came to Earth, to help but formost to see Chloe. During the case they metAdrianna Nassar, who learned Lucifer is the devil.

Chapter fifteen:There is no angel with red wings

"Very well possible it was Raziel," Lucifer answered. "We will ask as soon as we see her. But there is something more important you can deliver us."

Adriana turned pale. "You want my soul."

"What? No! The detective and I are looking to buy a house."

"A house?" Adriana stammered.

Chloe gave her a hug. "You are a realtor, remember? Lucifer and I are looking for a family home. Not too big."

"Not too small, I would say," Lucifer said. "See one of our problems?"

Adriana took a deep breath and then gave him a small smile. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I shouldn't…"

"Doesn't matter, Adriana," Lucifer assured her. "No offense taken. But back to a house?"

Adrianna breath deeply, blinked her eyes and nodded. "Yes. Yes. Uh… The devil wants to buy a house… from me… We need to do an interview. I need to know from both of you your wishes to see how we can find an agreement."

"When?" Lucifer asked. "Now?"

"Sorry, I have an appointment in forty minutes. I should almost go." She took her phone and swiped a bit. "Not this afternoon. I can come this evening at seven if you want."

Chloe had a lunch with the tribe. She was a few minutes late and expected to find Maze, Ella and Linda already in the cafeteria. They were, but Raziel and Azrael were with them.

"You care to tell me what happened to your statute?" Chloe asked Raziel after hugs and kisses for and from all.

Raziel grinned, Maze laughed.

"What statute?" Ella asked.

Maze and Raziel explained, ending with Raziel saying: "...it was an offense. I've never been so angry before."

"Was an offense?" Azrael said. "Not, is an offense."

Maze and Raziel laughed again. "You all know what heavy water is?" Maze asked.

"Of course," Ella said. "Water in which the hydrogen atoms have a neutron in the kernel."

"Both in heaven and in hell the natures of law are slightly different," Raziel said. "In a deep schism in hell there is a pool with… let's call it heaviest water. Three neutrons in the hydrogen kernels."

Ella gave it a short thought. "That would be extremely radioactive."

"It is, on Earth," Maze said. "Not in hell. We brought three droplets from that pool in hell to Earth. Raziel flew with me the roof of that temple…"

"So the security cams around didn't see you," Chloe interrupted.

Maze smiled. Raziel took over: "Maze crawled through the ventilation tubes to the hall and dropped a droplets on each wing and on the head, making the limestone wet."

"I had even enough for two droplets on the head," Maze said. "I knew from experience it would take a few hours for Earth's physics to leak into the atoms. We were long gone when that happened."

"And then?" Linda asked.

"The atom kernels must have split," Ella understood. "Producing a lot of heath. Enough to break the limestone of the statute. And no one will find a trace. The remaining of that 'heaviest' water is heavy water that is evaporated and will never be found."

Maze and Raziel kissed and made a box with their fists. Food arrived. They started eating and changed the subject.

"I promised you to look for a house together," Chloe said to Ella.

Ella looked for a second at her. "I understand. Things have changed. You want to life together with Lucifer."

"I'm really sorry, El…"

"Don't be, Chlo'. I understand."

"Lucifer said he will ask our realtor to look also for a place for you," Chloe said.

"You already have a realtor?" Ella said.

"Well. A bit early to say, she will come this evening to have a first interview." Chloe looked at Raziel. "You know her, Adriana."

"Ah!" Maze said. "The lady that made Raziel unfold her wings."

A story they had to tell Azrael, Ella and Linda. A story that Raziel ended with: "She is adopted. She has been trying to find her biological mother, but the archive of the adoption firm was destroyed by a fire, eleven years ago."

"A fire… eleven years ago?" Linda whispered.

Just as the others Chloe looked at Linda

"I… No… Just a bit…" Linda shook her head and looked away, but neither Ella nor Maze accepted that. Ella raised and hugged Linda.

"You always tell me to talk about problems, to express them," Maze said.

"Yes," Linda whispered, tears in her eyes. "I know. I know I should. But…"

"Do you know anything of that fire?" Maze asked.

"No, well. Maybe. I don't know. When I was sixteen I got pregnant. The father? I don't know. I rebelled against everything. I had broke with my 'good citizen' parents and thought I had some boyfriends who cared about me. They turned away when I told them I was expecting. I got the baby and was desperate, in panic, lonely, living on the streets. I gave her up for adoption, never seen her, never touched her."

"It was a girl?" Chloe asked.

Linda nodded. "She will be twenty-three now. In my nightmares I see her adopted, abandoned by her adaption parents, wandering from shelter to shelter, being a wretched child, unhappy, blaming her unknown biological mother for her miserable live."

Linda was crying. Ella held her in her arms and rocked her softly.

"I tried to find her. But… the archive of the adoption firm was destroyed eleven years ago."

They all were silent for some moments. "How old is Adriana?" Ella asked Chloe.

Chloe was already browsing in the case notes on her phone. "Twenty-three. That might be just a coincidence. But even the dates of birth do match."

"You can perform a DNA test," Azrael said to Ella.

"Shall I call her?" Chloe asked.

"No," Linda answered. "No. I… please, give me some time first."

They decided Linda, Ella and Maze would be at the bar of the Lux when Adriana would come in, so Linda could observe her when Adriana waited for the elevator. Raziel would stay out of sight to not drew attention. And in the end Azrael also showed up and was with the three at the bar.

Chloe welcomed Adriana outside the Lux and went with her inside and through the club to the elevator while she told Adriana what happened to the statute. The four women at the bar were looking so concentrated that Chloe expected Adriana to notice, but Adriana just listened to Chloe's tale about the temple and didn't see Linda and company.

"Wow," Adriana whispered when she first entered the penthouse. "This is really a high quality finished apartment. Lucifer smiled. "Hi, Adriana. Did you already see the view over the city?"

"Wow," she said again. "Sorry. I should first say: hello mr Morningstar."

"Please, Adriana. Lucifer is the name."

"Yes. Lucifer." Adriana looked back at Chloe, clearly still a bit nervous for Lucifer.

"He won't harm you," Chloe assured her once more.

They sat and Chloe and Lucifer explained each what kind of home they were looking for.

"… but if it becomes our home, we should both pay the same," Chloe said.

"We should pay equal amounts," Lucifer said. "If I pay one percent of what I own, the detective should pay one percent of what she owns."

"We have debated that for two days now," Chloe said.

Adriana nodded. "I understand both your point of views. As a person I can't advise you, you should decide yourselves how to divide the costs. As a realtor I see that Lucifer's idea has the potential of a much higher commission." She grinned.

"Ah, you see," Lucifer said to Chloe. "If you want to do good for Adriana, you should listen to me."

She rolled her eyes and they continued to discuss the needs; mostly Chloe trying to keep Lucifer reasonable. "… we do not need an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. In the LA climate just an outdoor pool is really enough." In Chloe's opinion any pool was already over the top. As most times he accepted her arguments, but Chloe realized the house would still be far to expensive for her savings. She might have to agree with his idea of each contributing equal percentages of what they owned.

"You should expect a price between ten and fifteen million," Adriana concluded.

Chloe swallowed. Lucifer nodded and said: "Less than I expected. Maybe we could add an indoor tennis hall?"

"None of us plays tennis, Lucifer," Chloe objected.

"Maybe in the future…"

"Do you have a tennis hall in the Lux?" she asked.

"No."

"Did you ever miss one?"

He sighed. "O, well. No tennis hall."

At that moment her phone beeped. She looked and saw a message from Maze: 'Linda would like to see Adriana.' She showed Lucifer the text and then both of them looked at Adriana.

"What?"

"You have been looking for your biological mother," Chloe said.

"Yes. Why…."

"This afternoon when Raziel and Maze told me the story of the statute in the temple; there were to friends of me present. One of them is Lucifer's therapist, doctor Linda Martin."

Adriana only looked at her without reacting.

"She has tried to find back the daughter she gave away for adoption. She is blond, just as you. Her daughter is born on the same day as you. The archive with the adaption papers is destroyed eleven years ago."

"She is…" Adriana whispered.

"We don't know. Maybe she is," Chloe answered. "But a DNA test will tell you, both of you. Do you want to see her?"

For some time Adriana had her eyes closed and didn't answer. Then she nodded. "Yes. Yes."

Linda came up alone, hesitated for a moment and then slowly approached. "Hi, you are…"

"Adriana. And you are Linda."

"Yes."

"You are looking for your daughter."

Linda nodded. "You are looking for your mother."

"You gave your daughter away?"

Tears appeared in Linda eyes.

"Maybe we should go and leave them," Chloe said to Lucifer.

"No," Linda said. "this is your house. We will go to the balcony. That is, if Adriane agrees."

Adriana nodded and the two went outside.

Chloe and Lucifer saw first Linda talking, then the two women hugging and talking together. The elevator door opened and a demon, a forensic scientist and two angels came out, the scientist with a large bag with her.

"Where are they?" Azrael asked.

Chloe pointed.

"They are both crying," Maze said. "Why?"

In the meanwhile Linda had noticed the four extra spectators and she came back in, taking Adriana with her. "You have everything with you for a DNA test," she said to Ella. "Can you please help us?"

The next day early afternoon Ella had the results of a quick test. "As I explained yesterday," Ella said in a conference call with Linda and Adriana, while Chloe was sitting next to Ella, "a more reliable test is also started, that will take two full days. But this quick scan gives a rough answer in hours. It is only ninety-eight percent accurate, but it says you're mother and daughter."

Two days later the more reliable test confirm the result and Lucifer invited them for a small party at the penthouse to celebrate. 'Them' being the tribe, Raziel, Azrael and Adriana. As usual there were drinks and food and Lucifer sang and played the piano. It all went smoothly until Chloe – still not wanting to drink alcohol – poured herself a cup of steaming hot tea, made a wrong move, knocked over the teapot and got all the boiling water over her left knee and shin. She screamed, the other raised, turned and looked.

"Cold water," Ella shouted.

"Angel feather," Maze said. With a whoosh both Lucifer and his two sisters unfolded their wings, but before they could step closer, a red light shone from inside Chloe's leg, moving up and down from her feet to the knee and back. The light vanished. Chloe looked for a second at her leg before she realized all pain was gone, the flesh looked healthy, just wet.

"What…" came from several mouths, including Chloe's.

"That looked as an angel's feather or wing healing you," Maze said.

"But who of you did this?" Ella asked, looking at Lucifer and his sisters.

All three shook their head. "Had I touched Chloe, the light would have green," Raziel said.

"This looked like an angel with red feathers touching Chloe with his wings," Azrael said.

"There is no angel with red wings," Lucifer said. "None."

"No," Azrael agreed. "Really none."

"This is just as strange as the alcohol," Raziel said.

"What alcohol?" Linda asked. Chloe explained how all the cocktails of the last party had not effected her.

"Enough about booze. If it's no angel wing, then what did we just see happen?" Maze asked. She shook her head. "It has to be an angel with red feathers."

Lucifer had kneeled for Chloe and touched the leg. "No trace of burns, as if Maze and Azrael are right. But they can't be."

"Did she heal herself?" Ella asked. "Divine side effect from having kissed both God and the devil? She got some angel powers maybe."

"An angel can't heal himself or herself." Raziel answered. She closed her eyes and folded her hands. Praying as Chloe recognized, but she didn't know to whom.

Raziel lowered her hands, frowned and stared a few moments at Chloe. "Father told me Azrael and Maze are right: an angel with red wings. He says we know enough to figure out where that angel with red wings is."

"Where that angel is?" Lucifer asked, confused and looking around in the penthouse.
