In this AU Delilah was never murdered. Chloe and Lucifer first met at the Gillian Taylor case (2x01)

When a criminal tried to kill Chloe (chapter 5), Lucifer protected her with his wings: Chloe, Ella and Trixie found out Lucifer really is the devil. All three ladies took that reveal well, while Lucifer made them breakfast. Dan found out in chapter nine.

Chloe asked Lucifer how he could ignore his dad's orders if he didn't have free will. They are dating, first date was a visit toNorway to see the northern lights. They do sleep together.

God listened to prayers of Chloe, Lucifer wanted to know why. God showed up to explain. During the Big Bang he gave the cosmological constant a wrong value, he needs help to warn himself and change that value. He tells Chloe and Lucifer together will give that help without realizing.

Raziel, and some more angels came to Earth, to help with a case and to see Chloe. During the case they metAdrianna Nassar, who learned Lucifer is the devil.

They noticed that Chloe doesn't get drunk and gets healed as if an angel with red wings touched her. But no angel has red wings. Nevertheless God tells them they should be able to understand where that angel is.

Chapter sixteen:It's a girl

"Can it be an angel that can make himself invisible, just as Ray-Ray?" Ella asked.

"I can only make myself invisible for humans," Azrael said. "Not for other angels." She glanced at Maze. "Neither for demons."

Raziel shook her head. "We would know if one of our siblings could do such."

"Why should there be an angel with red wings?" Adriana asked softly.

"Chloe's wounds healed while shining red light. That means an angel's red feather or the full red wing must touch her. Really touch."

Adriana frowned and stared at Chloe. "Which part of her body? The wound?"

"No, any part," Lucifer said. With a grin he added: "And all part are beautiful."

"You are lovers… If I'm allowed to say," Adriana said.

"We are."

"Your child would be an angel?"

"I would be so happy if I could have a child with the detective," Lucifer said. "But we can't have a child, different species."

"Oh." Adriana shrugged. "I thought… Then that is not possible."

"You thought an angel baby in her womb would touch her," Linda said. "I think that's good thinking."

"Small detail: it can't happen," Azrael said. Maze nodded at those words.

But Raziel stared at Chloe and mused: "Although Adriana's idea would explain everything. Celestial metabolism will clean the alcohol, but it will take more time since it is still small."

"How different are humans and angels?" Ella asked. "I mean genetic."

"Well, twenty-three chromosome pairs versus twenty-seven chromosome pairs," Azrael said. "Ovum cell and sperm cell won't match."

"That…" Raziel took a deep breath. "Might not be the case. Mother once told me that mysterious things can happen when an angel loves a human."

"What mysterious things?" Chloe asked. She noticed how Lucifer seemed to be stressed.

"Mother only smiled when I asked for details," Raziel said.

"O, bollocks," Lucifer whispered. "She was always even more mysterious than dad."

"She still is," Raziel and Azrael said in unison.

"Maybe Zuriel will know," Maze added.

"Zuriel?" Chloe asked, remembering the name as being of one of the angels that visited them. "Angel of…?"

"Fertility," Maze said.

Lucifer slowly shook his head. Chloe put her arm around his waist. "What is wrong? I thought you said you would be so happy?"

"I would, detective," he whispered back. "But they give me hope. Is it false hope? I'm afraid in the end it will be a misunderstanding of mother's words."

Raziel gave him a glance and then folded her hands. "Zuriel will come," she said seconds later.

Zuriel did not come alone, she landed on the balcony together with a big, muscular angel. He had an Afro-American look, was bald and had dark grey wings.

"Amenadiel," Lucifer introduced him. "Dad greatest warrior. You're coming to tell me to go back, bro?"

"No, Luci. Father told us you are allowed to stay. I just wanted to see your human friends." So Lucifer introduced Linda, Adriana, Chloe and Ella and in the meanwhile Raziel told Zuriel what happened and what they had discussed.

"… thus, what did mother mean?" Raziel finished.

"That love, true love, by an angel can change his or her reproductivity cells," Zuriel answered. The angel took a deep breath, looking at Chloe and Lucifer."

"The sperm cells or the ovum," Ella whispered.

"Indeed," Zuriel said.

"But the number of chromosomes doesn't match," Ella continued.

"That is what the little change takes care of," Zuriel said. "You want the technical detail?"

Ella nodded, Zuriel chuckled and explained: "Normally the chromosome pairs split when a reproductivity cell is made."

Ella nodded again. "Twenty-three single chromosomes for a human, for Chloe in this case. Twenty-seven single ones from Lucifer's sperm."

"If he really loves her, his subconsciousness will change the process. Only the twenty-three chromosomes pairs matching the human ones will split. The four unique for an angel will stay pairs."

Chloe ignored the rest of the discussion between Ella and Zuriel and looked at Lucifer. She was still embracing him. He slowly turned his head to her. "It's my fault, detective," He whispered. "I didn't know. I really didn't. But still it is my…"

She interrupted him. "You said you would be happy."

"Yes, yes. But you…"

"I've always told both Trixie and my mom I want a second daughter. And I'm not getting younger."

He closed his arms around her and kissed her hair. Then she felt him stiffen and recoil a few inches. "What, Lucifer?"

"You said a daughter, but what if…"

"I will be happy with a son also. But up to now we only speculate. I will buy a pregnancy test tomorrow."

"There is no need for that," Zuriel said. She stretched her arm, held her hand inches from Chloe's belly and asked: "May I?"

When Chloe nodded, the angel touched her belly and smiled. "You're expecting."

"Come on," Azreal said. "What is it?"

"Do you want to know?" Zuriel asked Chloe.

"You already can tell? Yes," Chloe whispered.

"It's a girl."

Next morning when Chloe opened her eyes she found Lucifer already awake and looking tensed at her. She gave him a smile.

"You're still ok, detective?" he whispered. "No doubts?"

"A bit shocked, but happy."

"I should have known. I should have warned you. I should…"

She didn't let him finish. "You didn't know and we discussed that yesterday already, daddy Morningstar."

That finally let him relax and smile.

"We will have to tell Trixie and my mom," Chloe said. "Do you have to tell your dad?"

"My dad?" Lucifer asked confused. "Why would…"

"He will become a granddad."

"He knows, he is omniscient. O, he is, which means: he could have warned us."

Chloe gave that a thought. "And he needed our help." She sat up in the bed and gave Lucifer a worried look. "Will this interfere with our responsibility to help him save his creation?"

"I have no idea."

"You should ask him," she said.

"Dad never answers…" he began and than hesitated. "He never ans… You…" Lucifer shook his head and folded his hands. Within a few seconds he lowered his hands again. "Mysterious and avoiding straight answers, as always. He congratulates us. No, you don't have to worry, the future of the universe develops as it should. Whatever that means. And, yes, he could have warned us, but he didn't. I asked why not, and he only said he will be happy with a granddaughter and Trixie will be happy with a sister."

Chloe shrugged. "Trixie will be happy indeed. We must tell Adriana we need an extra bedroom in our future home."

Telling Trixie was straight forward. Next evening when Chloe had her daughter again they told her.

"… a sister? Really?" Trixie was jumping on and off her chair.

"It is still a very small baby and I just explained things can go wrong, monkey."

"Yes, mommy, you told. But Lucifer's dad said I will be happy with a sister. Can she take me flying? Does she have wings?"

"Uhh… Yes, she must have red wings." Chloe looked at Lucifer. "But I have no idea whether she can fly or not." She had not yet considered the consequences of a baby with wings. "How old has an angel child to be before she can fly? How old were you when you could fly?"

He opened his eyes wide. "We, all angels, were grown up when we were created. I have never been a child. I have no idea… I have no idea how strong a half-angel will be. There has never been…"

"Shall we go to the beach with her?" Trixie interrupted him. "Or to a theme park?"

"Monkey," Chloe said. "If she is a bit as a human baby she will sleep most of the first year, but when she grows up we will go to theme parks."

"And to the zoo?"

"And to the zoo."

"How will we call her?" Trixie asked.

"Your mother likes Aurora," Lucifer said. "Aurora Jane." He rolled his eyes for the middle name.

"Rory Morningstar," Chloe said and smiled at Lucifer.

What and how to tell Penelope was less straight forward. "We will have to tell her you are the devil," Chloe said two days later during diner, with a sigh.

"I already told her."

"Yes, but she didn't believe you." Chloe stopped eating and stared at her plate. "We will have to prove it to her and at the same time make sure she won't panic."

"Why?"

"Because our little baby girl might unfold her wings when mom is around. What if mom is baby-sitting and alone with her? Don't you think she will panic if she finds out that way?"

"Mm." Lucifer scratched his chin. They were in the penthouse while Trixie was with Dan

Chloe frowned. "Which makes me think about a sitter. Julia is Trixie's sitter most of the days. Can she take care of Rory… I mean what if Julia sees the baby's wings?"

"Do you want to find another sitter?" Lucifer asked.

"Another would give the same problem."

He nodded. "Let's first deal with your mum. How do you envision telling her I really am the devil?"

Chloe opened her eyes wide, shook her head and mumbled: "Not. Luckily she is in New York this week and not back before Sunday, so we have a few days to think about it."

"I might have an idea," Lucifer said.

That few days turned out to be one. Next day at eight, while Chloe and Lucifer were cleaning up diner in the kitchen and Trixie was watching 'Leave it to Leslie', someone rang the doorbell.

"I get it, mommy," Trixie shouted.

"First look who it is," Chloe warned her.

"Yes, mommy."

Chloe kept an eye on her daughter to see whether she would first attach the door chain before opening the door ajar. Trixie looked, said some words and closed the door to remove the chain.

"Who is…" Chloe started to ask, but went silent when her mother came in.

One second she was thinking over what to tell Penelope. The next second there was nothing left to think over for her eight year old daughter shouted: "Nana, I'm going to have a sister."

Penelope glanced mouth open at Chloe. Chloe came into the hallway and immediately said: "We only know a few days ourselves, mom. We were going to tell you next Sunday when you came back, well, you planned to come back Sunday."

"There are phones in this world, Chloe Jane Decker. You didn't think of calling your mother with such news?" Penelope came to Chloe. "And who is we? Are you dating…"

Penelope did not finish the sentence since Lucifer also stepped in the hallway and laid an arm around Chloe's shoulders. "We is Lucifer and me, mom," Chloe said. "And we didn't want to call because…" She didn't know how to continue.

"Because?" Penelope frowned. "Is the baby not welcome? Are you not happy?"

"O, yes, mrs Decker," Lucifer said. "She is welcome and we are very happy. But we have to tell one more…"

"We better sit down first," Chloe interrupted him and gestured towards the living room.

"Can you ask Raziel now?" she whispered to Lucifer. He nodded. "I already did."

"What? Is something wrong with the baby?" Penelope asked while they sat down, most likely not having heard Chloe's whispering.

"As far as we know she is healthy," Chloe said. "She is only a few weeks, mom. I did not see any doctor or midwife yet."

"How than do you know it's a girl?" Penelope asked.

"Because Lucifer's daddy said he will be happy with a granddaughter," Trixie said. "And Zuriel also said it is a girl and she is an angel."

"Lucifer's dad? How would he know?" Penelope asked. "Is he a doctor?"

Chloe took a deep breath and looked at Lucifer.

"Raziel is on her way, detective," he said and then turned to Penelope. "I am the devil, Penelope. My dad is God, omniscient, you see."

Penelope stiffened, looked first at Lucifer and then at Chloe. "Listen, Lucifer. I know it's not my business. If you want to be an actor and try to find a roll as the devil, fine. But when you become a dad, my granddaughter's dad, you need to take things serious."

"He is the devil, nana," Trixie said.

"Don't you see it has a bad influence on Trixie. A child her age believes you. Chloe, can't you tell him to act responsible?"

Lucifer took a deep breath. "Give us ten minutes, mrs Decker. My sister Raziel is bringing something to help proof it."

Chloe moved to sit next to Penelope on the sofa. "Mom. You always made clear you don't believe in God, the dev…"

"No. Neither do you. Don't play as if you believe him."

She took her mother in her arms. "Mom, please listen for a minute and let me speak. You're right, I never believed in any of that bible stuff. Mom. I met Lucifer's dad. He called me his daughter in law and he is happy to get a granddaughter. Yes?"

"Yes, pumpkin. So? Lucifer should still stop with this act."

"As he asked. Give us ten minutes."

Penelope shrugged. Lucifer poured her a drink and asked her about New York. She answered, but clearly with not much interest.

It didn't even take the full ten minutes before Raziel came in, accompanied by Maze. She handed Chloe two pictures. "Taken this morning."

Chloe nodded and smiled and then gave the first one to her mother.

"John," Penelope said. "I've never seen this picture." She took a second look. "Where was this taken?"

"In heaven," Raziel answered. "Today."

"Listen, young lady. I don't know who…" Penelope started, but was interrupted by Chloe handing her the second picture.

Penelope looked, looked up to Raziel and back to the picture. "That is you with John? How can the two of you be in one picture. Is this fake?"

"Also made this morning," Chloe said. "Let me introduce Raziel, angel of mysteries and Lucifer's sister.

"An angel," Penelope almost shouted. "Angels don't exist."

Raziel looked left and right to check there was space and then unfolded her wings. Penelope turned pale and stared mouth open at Raziel. "You are…"

"An angel. And these pictures are really taken this morning. Your husband asked me to say hello and tell you he thinks about you every day."

"Really? He does?" Penelope brought the picture you her lips and smiled. Then she frowned. "But if you are an angel… if angels really exist." She turned her eyes at Lucifer. "Chloe?"

Hugging her mother, Chloe whispered to Lucifer. "Wings."

He sighed, raised and walked to the spot that gave most room left and right to unfold his wings.

Penelope winced, started to tremble and clung to Chloe. "He… it is…"

"It is all true, mom. And he will not do you any harm, nor me, nor Trixie. Remember what I said: his dad is happy with our child."

"His dad…" Penelope stammered.

"Is God," Chloe added. "And Lucifer asked his sister to give you a picture of your husband."

"And Lucifer is the devil," Trixie said. "And he is funny and our friend. And a bit clumsy."

Both Maze and Raziel laughed. Lucifer let his wings disappear and gave Trixie a stern look. "I'm not clumsy."

Trixie rushed to him, hugged him and said: "You are, but that's cute." She turned to Penelope. "And he saves mommy's live and daddy's live."

"What does he want from us?" Penelope whispered in Chloe's ear.

"Nothing evil. Lucifer and I are in love, mom. He doesn't bring souls to damnation. You saw his sister is an angel and they do get along well."

"Trixie said he saved your live?"

Chloe told her mother the story of how she was shot, Lucifer saving and healing her and the breakfast with Ella next morning.

"He saved you," Penelope whispered with her eyes closed. She slowly turned to Lucifer, looked at him and said: "Thank you, both for the picture and for saving my daughter."

"I will do anything for the detective, mrs Decker." He took her hands and kissed the back of them.

"Please say Penelope."

"I would like to say mama Decker, if you allow me." His words came with his Lucifer smile and Chloe felt her mother relax.

"And the other young lady? I saw her at the piano rehearsal. Is she also an angel?"

"Me?" Maze said and laughed.

"She is a demon," Raziel said. "My brother's first lieutenant."
