Chapter 3

Showdown in Pewter Gym! Ash vs Brock

Continuing his quest to become the world's greatest Pokémon trainer, Ash and Pikachu finally found their way out of the Viridian Forest and into Pewter City, No doubt some new and surprising challenges lie ahead for Ash and Pikachu.

Ash looked at the City and to the sunset "There it is, Pikachu," Ash happily said. "Pewter City I thought we were gonna be stuck in Viridian Forest for ages."

"Pika"

Then suddenly they hear a mysterious Man close by

"Pewter City is gray" the mysterious man said. "The color of stone, this city was famous for it's stones a long time ago."

"Oh, hello." Ash said "I'm Ash Ketchum and I'm traveling to become a Pokémon master."

"Pika."

"The name's Flint." Said Flint "and I see that you're Pokemon are tired, Come on, I'll guide you to the Pokemon Center."

And so Flint guided Ash to the Pokémon Center and when Ash and Pikachu went in he puts his Pokemon on the tray and his Pikachu for Nurse Joy to heal and Ash recognizes her

"Wait aren't you the Other Nurse Joy in Viridian City?" Ash Asked confusingly

"Why the Joy in Viridian City is my little sister" Nurse Joy said "I'm her older Sister. I heard about you Ash."

Ash was Suprised

"Please wait for a While." Joy said

After 5 Minutes pass, Ash was starting to get Hungry but his Pokémon is fully healed Nurse Joy comes back at the counter and got Ash's Pokémon and Ash comes to the counter.

"Here you go Ash," Joy said "your Pokémon is fully healed."

Pikachu Jumped into Ash's shoulder in Joy "Pika-Pi!"

Ash got his other Pokémon and his stomach starts growling meaning he needs to head to a nearby Cafe Joy pointed out that the Pokémon center also has a Cafe so Ash went to the Cafe and he ordered a Curry meal and suddenly Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi went to the Pokémon Center Cafe they see Ash and Makoto and Minako starts falling more in love with him.

"He's so cute!" Makoto said dreamingly

"So handsome!" Minako said while in love

Usagi, Ami and Rei see this and can't help but be shy but the 5 girls walked over to Ash and Usagi spoke.

"Hi there," Usagi said happily "May we sit by you?"

"Oh, uh, sure help yourselves" Said Ash. "The more the merrier"

"Pika, Pikachu."

Ash scooted over to let Ami and Usagi sit on one side and Makoto, Minako and Rei sat on the other side and the girls introduced themselves

"I'm Usagi Tsukino." Usagi introduced

"I'm Ami Mizuno." Ami said while blushing

"I'm Rei Hino." Rei introduced

"I'm Makoto Kino." Makoto said while falling in love.

"I'm Minako Aino." Minako introduced while daydreaming

"So What's your name?" Usagi said

"I'm Ash Ketchum." Ash introduced " I came from Pallet Town. And here's my Buddy Pikachu."

"Pikachu."

The girls looked at Pikachu and said "Awwe!"

"He's so cute!" Minako squealed and picked up Pikachu who is now scared. "I never seen a Pikachu this cute before!"

Makoto agreed "yeah, he's is just as cute as you, Ash!"

Ash was suprised and Blushed a little "O-Oh, thank you, Minako and Mako.." Ash said then he stopped and turned to Makoto "Mind if I call you "Mako?"

Makoto blushed then smiled "W-Why sure, Ash."

Pikachu then has his cheeks full up of electricity

"Minako!" Ash Said "Please be careful with Pikachu! He's really shy."

"Pikaaachuuu!!" Pikachu electrocutes Minako out of fear

Then Minako gives Pikachu back to Ash and Ash apologized for Pikachu Shocking her "I'm sorry that Pikachu shocked you, Minako" Ash apologized

Minako was easily happy "It's ok Ash, I really wanted to know what it's like to get shocked by a Pikachu and it was awesome!" Minako then looked at Ash with her beautiful eyes

Makoto said to Ash "You know, I think we should talk about our dreams," Makoto looked at Ash with her beautiful eyes "My dream is to be a baker and open up a flower store."

"My dream is to become and Idol!" Said Minako

"My dream a lot of them." Said the Ordango blonde

"My dream is to become a Doctor like my mom." Said Ami

"My dream is to have a successful shrine, to travel the globe, to get married and get a single." Rei said

"Wow that's a lot of dreams," Ash said "Those are amazing dreams, girls."

Then the girls are really happy at Ash and Usagi hugged him and she giggled that Ash liked her and her friends dreams.

"Ash, you so sweet!" Ami said

"you're so kind!" Usagi cried and Pikachu snuggled on Him "So What's your dream Ash?"

"My dream is to become a Pokémon master." Ash said

The the girls turned to the poster that said "Pokémon Leauge regional championships, enter the competition today's winners will be tomorrow's Pokémon masters." And Ami spoke to Ash

"If you want to enter the Pokémon Leauge, you have to win against 8 gym leaders of Numerous cities," Ami said "and receive a Badge to prove that your ready. And I believe you can do it, Ash."

"Thank you Ami," Ash said "You're very supportive." This causes Ami to blush yet smile at him she starts to fall in love with Ash a little and so did Rei

Then Pikachu went to Ami and jumped on her shoulder, Ami couldn't help but give the electric type mouse Pokémon a loving scratch on his chin making him happy.

"You're so soft..." she said as she petted Pikachu "I wish I'd had a cute Pikachu like you."

"Chaa..."

Usagi spots their dinner "Hey, Guys our dinner is here!"

"Pika!"

The group started to eat the dinner and after that they started to get to know Ash and after dinner and Ash paid for it which made them smile they decided to check in to a Pewter city hotel but before they can exit the Pokemon Center Ash remembered to call his mom when he got to the city so he got to the phone which the screen and the 5 girls followed him and back at the Ketchum house Delia hears a phone call when she sees her son she was happy to see him

"Hi Honey!" Said Delia "I'm so happy to see you and I see that you made it to Pewter City."

"Yep I made it." Said Ash "the Viridian forest was a bit long, but me and Pikachu were able to get through no problem."

"I'm so glad Honey." Said Delia then she nodices Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi behind him "Ash, who are those girls with you?"

"Oh, there are my new friends." Ash said

"I'm Usagi Tsukino." Said Usagi

"I'm Ami Mizuno." Said Ami

"I'm Rei Hino." Said Rei

"I'm Makoto Kino." Said Makoto

"I'm Minako Aino." Said Minako

"It's really nice to meet all of you." Said Delia happily. "Who knew Ash would make wonderful friends along his journey?"

After a minute of Ash talking to Delia on the phone and they both hung up, Ash and the group head to the Hotel to check in for the night and out the door was Flint who came by Ash was suprised and Pikachu as well.

"So are willing to challenge the Pewter City Gym leader Brock?" Asked Flint. "If so we gotta power up one of your Pokémon."

"Uh, yeah Sure Flint." Said Ash "Can you show me the way?"

"Pika."

"Ash, do you know this guy?" Asked Ami.

"Yes, he's the guy I met before I came to the City and lead me to this Pokémon Center." Said Ash

After the group agreed to let Flint help Ash out Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei, Usagi and Flint then leave and walk through Pewter City, with Flint telling Ash that Brock is not just a gym leader he has 10 siblings and he cannot leave as he has to look after his siblings after his 'good-for-nothing' father left to become a Pokémon Trainer and his mother passed away.

Usagi was in tears "Please don't tell a story that'll make me cry."

"The day I fight Brock, won't I have the courage to beat him?" Asked Ash

"Ash, I believe that you can beat him." Said Ami "please don't be sad."

"That's quite a Friend you have you so much confidence." Smiled Flint

"So where are we going?" Asked Makoto

"To some place where Ash can power up his Pikachu." Said Flint.

As they head to the outskirts of the city the Gang head to the hydroelectric power plant but the river is run dry which caught the girls, Ash and Pikachu by suprise to see that it's very old.

"What is this place?" Minako asked curiously

"It's a Hydroelectric power plant." Said Flint "It's over 100 years old."

"Wow that old huh?" Said Rei

"If you give Pikachu a large amount of electricity," Flint explained "It will increase it's amperes so even a power-up's possible."

"Hell yeah!" Said Ash happily "that's a great idea, Flint!"

"But why do you know so much about Pokémon?" Asked Usagi

Flint startled "No, that's...What it is... I just wondered about it."

"All right, Pikachu" Said Ash "this is special charging training!"

"Are you ready, Pikachu?" Asked Makoto

"Pikachu!"

"So uh..." wondered Minako "where's the water?"

"Well, the some water from the river is ran dry." Flint said causing Ash and the gang to have Sweatdrop in shock

"You mean we can't generate?!" Groaned Rei

"I have another idea." Flint said

Flint, Pikachu and the girls went inside the cabin while Ash then goes on to the water wheel Makoto get some wires with suction cups on the end from the Generator and hooks them on to Pikachu's cheeks and Flint turns on the Generator and Ami helps Ash with the water wheel.

"Ok, Pikachu's all set." Said Minako

"Ok, Ami ready?" Asked Ash

"I'm ready, Ash let's do it." Answerd Ami "but did you know that Rock and Ground types are weak against Steel types and Fighting types?"

Ash agreed then he and Ami began to push the wheel round using by walking on the wheel. This begins to power up the generator, which is connected to Pikachu, who begins to feel the pain of the increased electricity and tries to fight the pain. Makoto and Rei tries to calm Pikachu down.

"Chaaa!"

"Stay strong Pikachu," said Makoto "I know it hurts but you have to endure it if you want to get stronger. me, Rei, Usagi and Minako will be here by you."

"That's right." Said Rei "by the time your all powered up you'll be able to face off Brock in no time."

"I Imagine it's uncomfortable to have electrical power beyond your strength being channeled into you..." said Minako

"But eventually you're body will grow used to the high-voltage power." Said Usagi

Ash and Ami continues to walk on the wheel continuing to power up the generator not stopping until Pikachu is all powered up and all prepared to face off Against Brock the first Gym leader in the Kanto Region

"If I can take this than you can take it too Pikachu." Thought Ash "hang in there."

"Don't worry you guys." Thought Ami "Where are here to help."

Suddenly Pikachu's electricity begins to overload the Generator while Pikachu is fighting the pain the girls were stunned about the Power Pikachu can have and Ami remembers the bright yellow beam she and the girls saw earlier today she is about to Ask Ash but she decided to wait till he's done with the Gym battle

"The generator is overloading!" Shouted Ami

"Holy Crap!" Makoto panicked

"It's like the exact bright yellow light we say earlier today!" Shouted Rei and Usagi.

"Girls hit the deck!" Shouted Minako

Flint, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi took cover while Ash and Ami continue to walk on the big wheel and the bright yellow beam launches out of the cabin catching Ash and Ami off guard.

The next day Ash and Pikachu head to the Pewter Gym Ash organized his team before checking out of the Hotel with Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi and Ash has Pikachu, Pigeotto, Butterfree and Nidoran Male in his party and the girls meet him at the Gym cheering him on and headed to the bleachers. Ash took a deep breath opened the Gym's doors and he and Pikachu walked in the Gym and to the battlefield wondering why's it so dark until ether hear a voice

"Who goes there?" Said a Voice then the light shines on him revealing to be the Pewter City Gym Leader Brock Ash turned to him face to face

"Are you Brock the Gym Leader of Pewter City?" Asked Ash "I'm Ash Ketchum from the town of Pallet. I'm here to battle you."

"Is it your first Gym Match?" Asked Brock "A Gym battle is very different then some dumbass fight on the streets, it's the official Pokémon Leauge Match, there are specific rules."

"Specific rules Huh?" Ash said "he's trying to throw me off." Then he shook it off "Well no matter what, I'll whatever it takes to win!"

"Pika!"

"Huh, I like your confident attitude." Brock said "I'll except your challenge, since I'm a gym leader." then he snaps his fingers and the lights came on and Ash and Pikachu ran to the other side of the battle field and Brock got on one side and Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi sat on the bleachers cheering Ash on.

"I really know that Ash will do his best to win." Said Ami.

"Yeah I think Ash has got this In the Bag." Said Usagi

"I hope the powering up is all worth it." Said Rei

"Ash still reminds me of the guy who broke my heart." Said Makoto daydreaming

"This is gonna be good." Minako said

"Ok, let's get this show on the road." Said Brock "Go Geodude!" Brock sends out his Geodude a brownish-gray boulder Pokémon. It has bulging, rocky eyebrows, trapezoidal, brown eyes and a wide mouth. Its arms are muscular with five-fingered hands.

"Geodude."

Ash turned his cap backwards and sends out one of his Pokémon "Nidoran, I choose you!" The Ash sends Nidoran a small, quadrupedal, rodent-like Pokémon. It is pinkish purple with darker patches. It has large, spiny ears with teal insides, oversized front teeth, and red eyes. Its back is covered with three lines of large spines that can release potent poisons if threatened. The center line of spines is taller than the other two. The size of the long, pointed horn on its forehead is indicative of the strength of its venom. Out to battle

"Nido"

"Awwe! It's so cute!" Usagi said

"Looks like Ash is using the right Pokémon." Said Rei

"Geodude tackle!" Brock commanded then Geodude tackled the Nidoran only to do a little bit of Damage to it

"Nidoran, use Double Kick!" Ash commanded the Nidoranused double kick which does 2x damage causing Geodude to get knocked out leaving Brock speechless so see that Fighting types are super effective against Ground/Rock types.

"Geo..."

The girls was speechless to at Ash used a very good strategy against Brock's Pokémon.

"Oh my goodness, Ash." Ami gasped "it looks like he's doing great out there."

"Return Geodude!" Brock recalled as Geodude was recalled to his Pokéball "it's seems like you raised your Pokémon very well, but it's no Match for my next Pokémon! Go Onix!"

Then he sends out his Onix and it let's out a big roar. Onix is a Pokémon composed of a giant chain of gray boulders that become smaller towards the tail. Its length makes it the tallest Rock-type Pokémon. It has black eyes and a rounded snout. On top of its head is a rocky spine.

"Oh my god!" Whined Makoto "I wanted an Onix so bad."

"Don't worry Mako," said Usagi "You'll get one." That made Makoto happy

"Nidoran use Double kick on Onix!" Ash commanded which Nidoranuses double kick on Onix which does 2x damage but it isn't enough

"Onix tackle it!" Brock Commanded and Onix tackled the Nidoran knocking it out

"Oh no!" Ami gasped

"Nidoran is down!" Minako feared

"Damn it, Nidoran Return!" Ash recalled and Nidoran was recalled to his Pokéball "Pikachu, I Choose you!" Then Pikachu ran to the battlefield

"Pika!"

"I really hope he does ok." Worried Ami

"Onix bind it!" Brock commanded Onix tried to wrap Pikachu to bind it but Pikachu dodged Just in time and climbed on Onix and ran to his face.

"Wow, how is Pikachu doing that?!" Usagi cried

"Pikachu use iron tail!" Ash commanded as Pikachu uses iron tail and hits it on Onix's face doing 2x the damage because Rock types are weak against Steel types Onix was knocked out

"Ash, you did it!" cheered Ami, Rei, Usagi, Makoto and Minako "you beat Brock!"

"That was the best strategy, Ash used." Ami said

"Ooh... someone likes Ash..." Rei, Usagi, Makoto and Minako teased

"O-oh it's not like that! Really!" Ami blushed as her face is red as a Cherry

As Brock recalls his Onix he was really proud that Ash beat him in a gym battle Ash approached him for Brock to congratulate him as Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi came to congratulate Ash as well

"It looks like I underestimated you, Ash" said Brock "you know how to raise your Pokémon well and as proof of your victory, here is an official Pokémon Leauge badge, a Boulder badge."

Brock handed Ash the Boulder badge for winning against Brock fair and square and Ash accepted it.

"We got a Boulder badge, Pikachu." Said Ash

"Pi-Pikachu!"

Then Ash and Pikachu headed to the doors thanking Brock for not only the Boulder badge but a really great battle and outside waited Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi outside to congratulate him on his awesome win.

"Hi Ash." Said Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi

"Hi, Girls, said Ash

"Pika."

"We saw you win!" Said Makoto and Rei excitingly

"You were Amazing." Said Usagi and Minako

"Aww thank you girls." Thanked Ash

"Pikaaa"

"You're welcome, Ash." Said Ami "Ash, there's something me and the girls wanted to Ask you."

"Yeah, What's up?" Ash asked

"Pikachu?"

"Can we join you on your quest?" Asked Usagi

"Yeah, we want to come with you." Said Makoto

"Well I.." said Ash then Makoto, Minako, Rei, Usagi and even Ami gave Ash the cute, adorable eyes with pleading faces

"Pretty please?" Pleaded the girls

"...Ok, you girls can come with me," smiled Ash "the more the merrier as they say."

"Pika!"

Then the girls are very happy that Ash will welcome them to his quest then Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi gave Ash and Pikachu a group hug one by one and Causing Ash to blush bright red as Ami was earlier. Ami calls to them.

"Now, now, Girls." Scolded Ami "Let's give Ash some space.

Then Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi let go of Ash and Pikachu but his face is still red and Minako and Makoto wanted to hug Ash more.

"Aww! But we want to hug him some more!" Groaned Makoto and Minako

"We'll hug Ash in a bit." Said Usagi "Ami why don't you give him one."

Then Ami's face when just as Red as Ash's "U-Uh, ok." Then Ami approaches Ash and Wraps her arms around the young man with his Pikachu which His Pikachu loved Ami's kindness and Ash hugged Ami back and they let go.

"Awwe!" Said Rei, Makoto, Minako and Usagi

"Thanks Ami." Thanked Ash

"Y-You're W-Welcome, A-Ash." Said Ami timidity Then Pikachu jumped on Ami's arms and starts Licking her cheek which causes her to giggle and she pets Pikachu on his head gently

"I guess Pikachu likes you." Ash smiled

"Aww." Ami smiled as she continues to Pet Pikachu

"Well let's see where are we going next!" Makoto said

"Cerulean City." Said Ash

"Well let's go!" Usagi, Rei and Minako said

"We have our cats Luna me Artemis." Usagi and Minako said "they can come with us."

And so Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi head out to Pewter City after Ash heals his Pokémon from the Pokémon Center the gang head to Route 3 and to Cerulean City, with Ash winning a Boulder badge from the Pokémon Gym leader Brock, Ash continues his journey to become a Pokémon master.

Suddenly The Girl, Boy and the Meowth from Team Rocket came by seeing that Ash is gone leaving them disappointed

"Damn!" Cursed the girl "the brat has gone else where!"

"Patience, Jessie we'll find the brat and steal his Pokémon." Said the Boy

"Thank you James," said Jessie "your the best brother I could asked for"

Then Meowth became annoyed "Grr.. would you two dumbasses come on?! We got work to do!"

Then Jessie and James followed Meowth to Route 3 to where our heroes are heading would Ash and the gang reach Cerulean City? Find out as the journey continues!
