Chapter 6
Charmander the stray Shiny Pokémon
Last time Ash and the company arrived at Cerulean City and challenged the 2nd Gym leader Misty but when Ash won the badge fair and square, Team Rocket crashes the party and nearly steals everyone's Pokémon with their Giant Vacuum but their plot has failed because of our heroes and Ash saved Pikachu and Sailor Mercury and then Ash won his 2nd Gym badge and so did Ami Mizuno, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Rei Hino and Usagi Tsukino as well, and Ash curiously think are the 5 girls he's traveling with Sailor Guardians? As Minako sees something across nugget bridge at Route 24 Ash and his Friends took a detour could it be a Pokémon or a trainer to battle or even his rival Gary?
Ash and his Friends all head to nugget bridge and once they got there, they found Ash's rival Gary and his cheerleaders he hasn't seen him since he left Pallet Town. Gary approved his rival and spoke.
"Hey Ash, long time no see!" Gary said while being very cocky
"Oh, hey Gary." Ash said
"Pikachu."
"Ash, is this the person your rival that you were talking about?" Asked Ami
"Yes, Ami." Ash said
"So who are the loser girls of yours? The tall tomboy, uncute shrine hot head, the old maiden, the bunhead crybaby bunny that's hairstyle is so yesterday and the blue Nerd?" Gary mocked "they're nothing compared to my cheerleaders."
"Gary, Gary he's our Man!" Cheerleaders said "If he can't do it, no one can!"
The comments Gary made had Ami and Usagi very hurt and both in tears and they hugged Ash. Makoto, Rei and Minako however were livid and angry, Makoto and Rei both walked towards Gary cracking their knuckles and Minako approached the Cheerleaders and mocked them telling them how much they are really bad at cheering.
"Tall tomboy?!" Makoto snapped while grabbing Gary's shirt "You sure as hell have some guts calling me that!"
"And you have a crap full of nerve calling me a hot head!" Rei roared as she cracked her knuckles "I will blast you to the moon with my fist if I wanted to!!"
"You girls suck at cheerleading!" Minako shouted "I bet me and the girls can cheer better than you!"
"Hey Shut up!" One cheerleader said
"Yeah, Shut the hell up!" All the Cheerleaders shouted
"You shut up!" Minako shouted
Gary then turned to Ash "So ya Beat Misty the gym leader did ya? Your lucky cause I'm about to go beat her. but first I wanna battle you!"
"Oh yeah?" Ash said said with irritation "I'll show you not to insult girls!"
"I gotta warn ya, I caught a bunch of Strong and Smart Pokémon." Gary said cockingly as Makoto and Rei let go of him "Let's see what you got!"
Ash and Gary went on both sides and Ami got in the middle "Ok, this battle 8"is a 4 on 4 Mach between Ash Ketchum and Gary Oak!" Ami said "Let the battle Begin!"
"Ash, you better show that bastard Who's boss!" Makoto said with Irritation
"Show him Not to mess with us!" Rei shouted
"Ash! Ash!" If he can't do it no one can!" Minako and Usagi cheered
"Ok, Pidgeotto let's Go!" Gary called and tossed his PokéBall and His own Pidgeotto materializes from his PokéBall
"Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash said then Ash's Pikachu ran to the battlefield
"Wow, Looks like he knows what he's doing." Makoto said "Go Ashy!"
"Pidgeotto uses Quick Attack!" Gary Commanded Gary's Pidgeotto dives down at a fast speed towards the opponent. When diving, it becomes surrounded in a spiralling red-orange or white aura. Sometimes, a white stream of energy is created behind it as it dives. on Pikachu but it barely did any damage
"Pikachu, Hang in there!" Ash said "Quick use Thunderbolt!" Ash's Pikachu releases a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from its body at Pidgeotto which was Super effective and Pidgeotto is out.
"No, Pidgeotto! return now!" He recalled Pidgeotto "Damn you got some skill but go Rattata!"
He tossed the PokéBall and What materializes is a is a small, quadrupedal rodent Pokémon. It has purple fur with a cream-colored face, paws, and underbelly. It has narrow eyes containing white sclera and pupil with red irises, rounded ears with cream-colored insides, and a single whisker on each cheek. Its long tail is tightly curled at the end. Its most notable feature is its large teeth.
"Ok, Pikachu come back!" Ash called as Pikachu ran up to Ash "Go Onix!" Ash tossed he PokéBall and his shiny Onix materializes from his PokéBall leaving Gary shocked
"Woah, Ash you got a Shiny!?" Gary shouted "well no matter. Rattata tackle it!" And Rattata tackle the Shiny Onix but not very effective
"Onix, use rock throw!" Ash commanded as Onix used Rock Throw and Rattata is out and Gary was stunned that ash got really strong Pokémon than him
"Rattata, Return!" Gary recalled as Rattata is recalled "Damn, looks like your Pokémon is stronger than my 2. But here comes a hell of a Challange! Abra, let's do it!" He sended out a bipedal Pokémon that is primarily yellow. Its face is kite-shaped with a small, pale yellow snout and two short, pointed ears with pale yellow interiors. Its wide eyes are normally closed. Abra's body is segmented with black skin is visible between its joints and along its neck. It has two brown, pauldron-shaped extensions on its shoulders, as well as a brown, fauld-like piece around its chest. It has three digits on each hand and foot, but its fingers considerably shorter than its toes. Two of its toes face forward and one faces backward. Its tail is thick and long, with a brown band located near the tip out to battle.
Ash analyzed the Abra and the PokéDex says "Abra, a psychic power Pokemon. It sleeps eighteen hours a day, but deploys telekinesis, even while sleeping."
"Wow, an Abra." Awed Rei "I have one of those."
"Abra, use psychic!" Gary Commnded and Abra used Psychic which did a good amount of Damage and Onix is almost out but he is still hanging in there
"Onix use smack down!" Ash commanded as Onix used Smack down and Abra is out too
"Damn! Abra, Return now!" Gary called back as he recalled Abra "here's my last Pokémon. Squirtle let's do it!" As he sent a small Pokémon that resembles a light-blue turtle. While it typically walks on its two short legs It has large, purplish or reddish eyes and a slightly hooked upper lip. Each of its hands and feet have three pointed digits. The end of its long tail curls inward. Its body is encased by a tough shell that forms and hardens after birth. This shell is brown on the top, pale yellow on the bottom, and has a thick white ridge between the two halves.
"Onix return!" Ash recalled Onix back to his PokéBall. "Ok, Pikachu I saved you for last. I choose you!" Pikachu Ran to the battle field
"This is it!" Makoto happily cheered
"Let's go Ash! Let's go!" Usagi and Minako cheered which made Gary's cheerleaders jealous
"Squirtle use bubble!" Gary commanded as Squirtle used bubble on Pikachu and Ash's Pokémon is still standing not wanting to give up.
"Pikachu, let's wrap this up with thunder bolt!" Ash commanded as Pikachu used thunder bolt
"Pikachu!!"
He launched his attack from his cheeks at Squirtle and because its super effective and it's Ash's strongest and loyal Pokemon Squirtle is out, and Gary was stunned
"Squirtle is unable to battle." Ami called the match "Pikachu is the winner which means the victor goes to Ash!"
Usagi, Makoto, Rei and Minako ran up to Ash and threw their arms around him and Makoto picked him and Pikachu up and held Ash bridal style
"You got this in the bag!" Rei said happily
"You showed that jerk who's boss!" Usagi cheered
"You're the man!" Makoto happily said as Ash blushed
Ami approached Ash "I'm really proud of you, Ashy." Which caused Ash to blush more
Minako turned to the cheerleaders "So who's the old maidens now?! You are!" She mocked as she stuck her tounge at them and the Cheerleaders where really jealous which Gary walked to Ash and spoke
"Hey, guess what? I went to Bill's and got him to show me his rare Pokémon. That added a lot of pages to my Pokédex!" Gary said cockingly "After all, Bill's world famous as a PokéManiac. He invented the Pokémon Storage System on PC, too. Since you're using his system, go thank him. Well, I better go rolling! Smell ya later!"
Then Gary and his cheerleaders left leaving Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Rei, Minako and Usagi behind and the group crossed nugget bridge and they battled trainers along the way Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi got their chance to battle some of the trainers Big trainers, Lasses, Youngsters, Campers and even a Team Rocket member which Makoto and Ash took on in a double battle and then when the Rocket member was defeated. Makoto, Ash and Pikachu did a 3 way fist bump.
"You were great Mako." Ash congratulated
"Pi Pikachu!"
"O-Oh, thank you, Ash." Makoto blushed happily "You were great too.
The gang the saw the creature Minako was mentioning and sitting on the hill it was a reptilian Pokémon with a primarily yellowish orange body white belly and blue eyes. Its underside from the chest down and the soles of its feet are cream-colored. It has two small fangs visible in its upper jaw and two smaller fangs in its lower jaw. A fire burns at the tip of this Pokémon's slender tail and has blazed there since Charmander's birth. The flame on its tail however is low.
"Hey Minako is this the creature you're talking about?" Asked Ash
"Pika?"
"Of coarse it is." Minako said "it's another shiny Pokémon! And I thought you might want it."
Ash then got his PokéDex and Analyzed it which said "Charmander. A flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out."
"Oh my goodness!" Ami gasped
"That's so sad." Usagi said while tearing up
"When I went to get my first Pokémon from Professor Oak," Ash said "I was disappointed that I couldn't get a Charmander. Now I can catch my own. But it looks like it's in really bad shape."
"Then let's catch it and we'll take it to a Pokémon Center for help." Rei said
"Ok Pokéball, go!" Ash said as he threw the PokéBall at Shiny Charmander and it went in as it wobbles it breaks out of the PokéBall and it landed on Ash's hands
"Damn, Sure has a lot of spunk." Ash said
" I think this Charmander has an attitude problem." Rei said sternly
"A little too much if you ask me." Makoto said
Then Pikachu walked over to the Shiny Charmander and talked with it and he tells Pikachu that he is waiting for someone to come and get it and after he's done talking he went back to Ash and the girls
"So what did Charmander say?" Ash asked "Ami can you translate?" and Pikachu talks to Ash and Ami and Ami is able to translate what Pikachu is saying
"From what I translated, that Charmander is waiting for someone to come and get it." Ami said
"You mean it belongs to somebody?" Minako said "Aww! I didn't know that."
"No wonder Minako thought it was suspicious that A shiny Charmander was just sitting in the middle of a hill!" Usagi said
"Well if it's waiting for someone, I think we better leave it." Ami said "It's probably best if its own trainer takes care of it."
Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi walked walk to a nearby cave as the sky begins to cloud up meaning that there's a rain storm coming and and they head to the cave and they setted up Camp as Ami, Usagi and Rei took a last look at Shiny Charmander who has a leaf to cover his tail like an umbrella.
"Man, we're lucky to be in a nice and dry Cave instead of out where the storm can come any minute." Makoto said
"This fire is awesome, Rei" Ash said "Mabye Mako can cook some soup in this."
"Pika!"
"Well, if you don't know Ash I'm a really talented Chef and so are Ami and Rei." Makoto winked
Ash then looked at Ami and Usagi who looked sad that Shiny Charmander is out waiting for the it's trainer when the Rainstorm is gonna begin any minute "Ami, Usagi are you two ok?" Ash said
"I wonder if that person came for it at all." Ami said sadly "I'm starting to get really worried. What if its trainer left it there?
"Ami Are you thinking that...?" Usagi said very horrified "You think that Charmander was, ABANDONED??"
"I don't know, guys." Ami said "It's trainer must have went and gotten it by now."
"Well Ami, I say let's go help out that Shiny Charmander before it starts raining!" Ash said with confidence "Let's get going!"
"Pikachu!"
And so Ami, Ash, Makoto, Minako, Pikachu, Rei and Usagi all raced down to the hill where Shiny Charmander is still waiting for it's trainer when the rain storm is almost here and then a flock of Spearow flew and starts Attacking Charmander only for Ash to break it up by throwing a rock
"What the hell are you Spearows think you're doing?!" Ash shouted only for him and Usagi to get attacked by Spearow
"Ah! He's attacking us!" Usagi whined "Make it go away!" Then Ami shoos it back using her coat
"Pikachu thunder bolt!" Ash commanded as Pikachu shocks the Spearow combined it with the lighting from the sky only Pikachu is unharmed, the light was so bright it scared the Spearow away but accidentally hit Ash.
"Next time, make sure you don't shock me, too, Pikachu." Ash said very dizzy
"Pikaaa..."
Then suddenly a trainer by the name of Cross who has spiky orange hair with cross-shaped patch of hair (from that it his name) and brown eyes. He wears a white tank-top paired with black vest, red pants, and black boots with his canine Pokémon resembling a wolf but resembles a slouched, bipedal wolf or werewolf. It has short red fur with white on its lower legs and a white streak that covers its face, underbelly, and tail. It has pointed, button ears with black tips, three large tufts of fur on each side of its face, a triangular black nose, and a mouth full of sharp teeth. While the sclerae, irises, and pupils of its eye are visible, they all glow a pinkish red and no distinctive colors are visible. A mane of fur covers its back and shoulders, sweeping forward over its head to form a crescent moon shape. On either side of its body, just below the shoulders, two small rocks resembling claws poke out of the mane. A single, bigger stone projects out of the front of the mane over its head. Each of this form's paws has three black claws, and it has a stubby tail covered in long fur. when Shiny Charmander saw its Trainer, it ran up to Cross and hugged him happy to see him again Ash, and the others were surprised.
"So that's Charmander's trainer?" Ami asked
"I never seen that Pokémon before." Said Usagi
When Cross sees his Shiny Charmander hugging him by his leg he kicked Charmander away and it hit the ground and looked down at it "You really believe I would come and get you, Huh?" Cross Said rudely "Well your wrong, peace of Crap."
Ash, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Pikachu, Rei and Usagi really horrified and angry at this all rushed over to Charmander's side and Ash, Rei and Makoto turned to Cross
"Are you his trainer?!" Makoto asked angrily "Answer me!!"
"Well I used to be now." Cross said very distastefully "it was weak so I abandoned it. and just because it's shiny doesn't mean it's strong."
The others gasped "How the holy hell can you do something this disgusting to your Pokémon?!" Rei asked in rage
"It kept following me." Cross said "so I told it to wait here."
"How the hell could you do this?!" Ash shouted
"That is very insensitive of you!" Ami said "If you let your Pokémon wait for you like that it will die!"
Ash tries to get Cross to stop only for his Lycanroc to use tackle on Ash, Ami checked up on him and see if he's ok and Pikachu stood by his side.
"Strength is everything with Pokemon." Cross said "If they don't want to die, hey should grow stronger."
"What?!" Minako screamed
"Isn't a trainer supposed to help a Pokémon get stronger?" Ami asked crossly
"What do all these Fancy words get to you?" Cross said cockingly
"We get to be friends!" Ash shouted
"Yeah!" The girls shouted
"Pika!"
"You are all to soft." Cross said "That friendship Crap only makes Pokémon weak. The name's Cross I'm gonna be the ultimate trainer and I don't need a weak Charmander."
"Damn you!" Shouted Makoto "You're lucky that I don't bust that head of yours!"
Shiny Charmander tries to follow it again only for it to collapse on the ground meaning that his flame on his tail is weakening Ash rushes over to it and he picks it up and Ami holds it and the others head back to the cave and Ash keeps Charmander's flame lit
They soon arrived at inside the cave on time before it started raining Ash got out a Huge Blanket and Setted Charmander down Carefully and Usagi got a towel and folded it and placed it on Shiny Charmander's forehead
"Don't worry Charmander, You can make it." Said Ash
"Pika.."
"Don't worry I can save Charmander." Ami said with confidence making some medicine for Charmander. "I can't allow a Pokémon with such strong feelings for it's trainer die."
When Ami is done with the medicine Charmander opened his mouth "I Know this is bitter, but please Endure it, You'll feel better in no time."
Charmander Endured the medicine and it is bitter but it's making sure Charmander gets better and Ami tells Ash that all it can do now is rest to recover and Keep his body warm. Ash kept Charmander by his side and Charmander sees that Ash cares
"You'll be alright, Charmander." Said Ash as Charmander fell asleep
"Well one thing's for sure." said a White Cat
"We're out of a storm." Said a Black cat
Ash and Pikachu were stunned "How can Cats talk?!" Ash shouted
"Pika?!
"Well, her name is Luna and his name is Artemis." Said Usagi
The Luna and Artemis explained to Ash that both Cats are sent from the moon and after he hears the Whole story while the gang eats the Soup Makoto has made he couldn't believe it
"Luna, I can't believe it." Ash said surprisingly
"We'll believe it." Luna giggled "Since we are cats from the moon we can talk
"Am we are really glad to meet you, Ash." Artemis smiled "Me and Minako are partners."
"That's right." Minako winked
"It's starting to get Cold" Usagi shivered "I think we should get in our sleeping bags."
Pikachu hugged Ash "Pikachu, you want to stay by me so we can warm Charmander up?"
"Pika."
The Luna and Artemis can't help but snuggle on the boy and purred "Hope you don't mind if we stay by you, Ash." Said Luna then Usagi wrapped her arms around Ash Embracing him for a snuggle catching Ash by surprise.
"You too, Usagi?" Ash wondered
"Well, you're not the only one who's gotta keep you and Charmander warm." Usagi spoke quietly "I feel like snuggling on you.
Ash then patted Usagi's head and petted Pikachu, Artemis and Luna which cases them to purr happily and he pets Charmander which cases him to smile as he is starting to get better. "Ok, Usagi." Ash smiled "You, Luna, Artemis and Pikachu sleep with me all you like."
Then Ami wrapped her Arms around Ash and cuddles on him making Ash blush yet giggle "You too, Lovely Bookworm?"
"Why yes, Ashy, hope you don't mind me hugging you." Ami smiled while her cheeks turn pink "we feel the same way as Pikachu and Usagi but I wanted to keep you warm like this."
Then Rei, Makoto and Minako join in and cuddles on Ash and Pikachu and keeping Charmander warm Ash was now blushing even more
"Y-You girls too?" Ash stuttered
"We feel the same as Usagi, Pikachu and Ami." Said Rei sweetly "we want to keep you warm too."
"You don't have any problems of getting cuddled by girls, do you Ashy?" Makoto asked softly "You can lay on my chest if you want."
"You don't want to freeze all night, do you?" Minako asked with a begging voice "May we Join the cuddles, pretty please?"
"Well... Ok, you all win." Ash smiled "You girls can do whatever you like."
"Yay!" Usagi said happily "Nice and Warm."
So all night Usagi, Ami, Pikachu, Makoto, Minako, Rei, Luna and Artemis cuddled up with Ash and keep Charmander warm all night during the rainstorm, Ash layed his head down Gently on Makoto's chest for a pillow which causes her to blush but smile and they all fell asleep.
The Next morning, the sun is shining and Shiny Charmander is all healthy and well his flame on his tail is back to normal he woke Ash up by licking his cheek
"Hey, Charmander." Ash said brightly "How are you feeling?" And Charmander nodded with a yes as Pikachu, Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako woke up too and see that Shiny Charmander is feeling better
"Charmander, please show me your tail." Ami smiled as Charmander's tail is very healthy and well. "Your tail flame is burning bright. You're all right now."
"Pika."
"That's great!" Makoto smiled
"Isn't it, Charmander?" Asked Rei
"Ash, why don't you catch it?" Ami asked
"Since you kept his tail flame lit." Minako reminded Ash with a smile
"She's right." Luna said while stretching her legs and arms
Ash nodded with a yes then turned to Charmander "Hey, Charmander, why not come along with us?" Ash asked "Become our friend. What do you say?"
Charmander remembered that Cross Abandoned him so he nodded yes to Ash and he want to now go with Ash. And Ash got his PokéBall ready and Charmander pressed the button on the PokéBall and Shiny Charmander went in meaning Ash caught a Shiny Charmander.
"Ashy, you got another Shiny Pokémon." Ami said with a smile
"I got a Charmander!" Ash cheered holding the PokéBall up to the air
"Pi Pikachu!"
"Hell yeah!" Makoto said
"Look guys, a rainbow!" Said Minako as the gang comes out of the cave and there is indeed a rainbow
"It's so beautiful!" Makoto awed
"It's a wonderful day!" Usagi and Ash said
"Pikachu!"
The gang packed up their camping stuff and they head up to Route 25 with no worries at all And so, Charmander joins Ash and his friends on their journey. Maybe taking detours isn't so bad after all, especially when you're taking detours with your friends. Of course, finding your way with your friends is even better! And as the Journey Continues!
