Another chapter in this story. Can you blame me for liking Helluva Boss so much? Considering this, I'm actually looking forward to Hazbin Hotel… Don't know if I'm gonna make a fanfic on that, but still looking forward to it.

It had been a few days since Ash had met the bird demon Octavia and things weren't really different for him. He was spending some time with his mother who was happy to have her son back home. Though a part of him was in a way looking forward to seeing her again. He loved making new friends and he did want to get to know more about her. Most people might not want to know about how life is down in Hell, but he wanted to know what it was like to the bird girl.

He also did feel bad since she was dealing with stress back at home and wished he could help her in some way. Still, he didn't know exactly how he could help. He figured that if he could talk with her parents maybe he could figure things out, however being demons, he wasn't too sure how he would be able to do so. Plus he didn't have the full story on why they were fighting.

Still, he wasn't going on a journey any time soon and was all for trying something new. Brock and Misty were busy with their gyms ever since he stopped traveling with them and while he wanted to meet his other friends from other regions, but it was expensive to travel to another region and he wouldn't feel right about tiring his Pokemon to swim over to one.

Well, what can he do? All he could go off of was the fact that she told him that she would be back, but he didn't really know if she'd keep to her word. One day while his mother was out, he was preparing to head out and visit his Pokemon. It had been a while since he'd seen them and he wanted to check up on them and see how they were.

"Ready Pikachu?" He asked as he had gotten his outfit on.

"Pika, Pika." The yellow mouse says while hopping onto his shoulder.

"Alright. Wonder how they're getting along with Hawlucha and Talonflame. Can't wait to see them." He says as he was about to head for the door.

Then he stopped as he heard a noise and turned to the source as he saw a light forming on his wall. Such light grow bigger and transformed into a portal that looked familiar to him. And out came the feathered demon girl before the portal closed. She looked around and saw him, to which he smiled when he saw who it was.

"Octavia!" He says as he walked up to her.

"Hey, Ash. Good to see you." She tells him.

"Good to see you too. I honestly didn't think you'd show up."

"Pikachu!" The little Pokemon says with a smile as well.

"Yeah, figured you'd think that. I don't blame you for thinking that." She tells him.

"Wha… I-I didn't mean it like that-"

"No, no, it's fine. I know what you really mean."

"Okay, but don't joke like that. I don't exactly want you to think I think less of you."

"Ash, I really could not care what you think of me."

That sentence kinda hit deep with the boy. No one had ever said something like that in that kind of tone to him. It sounded normal considering how she acted, but it was still harsh to hear. He quickly shook it off before she noticed.

"Uh… what brings you here?" He asked her.

"I just was bored and decided to see what you were doing." She answered.

"I was going to visit my Pokemon and see how they were doing."

"Alright, is it okay if I… come to see them as well."

"Well, I wouldn't mind, but aren't you worried about what'd happen if you were to be seen."

"Not really. I could just blend in easily."

"Ya sure? I don't exactly think people have seen Pokemon wearing clothes like-"

"What? No! Not as one of these Pokemon. I have a… L-let me show you."

Ash and Pikachu had puzzled looks on their faces as Octavia stood up and held her arms up until she was covered with flames which caused the two to look shocked. Then as the flames died down, in her place was a girl that looked her age with the same outfit and hair, however, she looked completely like a human with pale skin, black nails and her eyes changed to having normal white sclera with black pupils and red eyes.

She looked at the duo and looked away in embarrassment as they still had shocked looks on their faces. Then their eyes sparkled with amazement.

"That is so cool!" Ash says.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu also says happily.

"W-what?" She says, not expecting such a reaction.

"That's amazing! I didn't think you could do that."

"I didn't know I could do it either. But… well… I have a friend that actually did it before me. I honestly didn't think I could do it either, honestly."

"That's still cool. Especially the way you transform with that fiery stuff and all, it's like… like… really cool to see." Ash says, not knowing how else to describe it.

Octavia couldn't help but almost giggle at his childish reaction but stopped herself quickly. "T-thank you for… your compliment." She says while looking away with a bit of a blush on her face.

(Later)

"So, where are these Pokemon you wanna show me?" Octavia asked as the three had left the front door of the boy's house.

"Oh, they're just at Professor Oak's lab. Not that far from here." Ash tells her.

"Professor Oak?"

"Yeah, he's just down that way." The boy then pointed towards the large lab that could be seen for miles.

"... T… There?" The bird girl asked, shocked.

"Pretty cool right? Come on."

With that he ushered her to follow along as she just did so, not questioning any further. She didn't care for its size, but it seemed really far just to go for a 'visit'. However, Ash didn't seem to care one bit about needing to walk such a distance. When she thought about it, he did mention that Pokemon Trainers travel regularly so maybe something like this was nothing new to him.

"So, how often do you go to that place?" She asked.

"Well, whenever I'm in town, I like to visit at least once a week." He answered her.

"That sounds fair." She says before thinking. "So how many of these Pokemon do you have exactly?"

"Umm…" Ash starts trying to count, thinking, and mumbling a bit before looking up. "... Uh… I lost count, but I've got plenty."

"Okay then… When did this all start?"

"When did what all start?"

"Ya know, how many Pokemon did you have when you started?"

"Oh, well, it was just me and Pikachu at first and we didn't get along very well at first, but we eventually got by. Right, Pikachu?" Ash says while scratching his partner's chin.

"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu says with a smile.

"It's… good to see you're getting along I guess." Octavia says, not knowing how to respond.

"That was about back then when I was ten, but after we got along, we meet a lot of Pokemon." The boy tells her.

"Alright, I see-Wait, what?" She then says as she stopped and she looked shocked.

The boy and his Pokemon stopped and looked at her in confusion. "What's up?"

"D-did you say when you were ten?"

"... Yeah… I did."

"... Like, you've been doing this ever since you were ten?"

"... Yeah… All Pokemon Trainers start their journeys at the age of ten. I think I've told you that before."

Now that she thought about it, she did remember him saying something like that. Perhaps it breezed over her head from all the other things he told her. Then she thought about it.

"A-are you saying that when anyone wants to be a Pokemon Trainer, their parents kick them out to travel the world when they're ten?" She asked him.

"N-no! That's not what I'm saying! They don't get kicked out, they go on a journey by choice." He says, hoping she wouldn't get the wrong idea again.

"And their parents are just alright with it?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't they?"

"... And… you don't think there's something weird about that?"

"... Nope."

The way he said that so nonchalantly caused her to become dumbstruck. Octavia started to think of how this boy could be so dense not to notice anything off. Was this really the norm for this world? There's no way. All she did was pinch the bridge of her nose and sigh.

"What's up now?" Ash asked her.

"Nothing… just… I think my brain might explode from the logic of this world." Octavia says to him.

"... well, maybe not think too much about it then. My head hurts sometimes whenever I'm hearing something that's hard to understand too." The boy then began walking. "Come on, it shouldn't be too far." He says while referring to the lab as she looked at him.

"Shouldn't be too far?" She muttered to herself. "Coming!" She says while catching up with him.

As much of a pain she knew it'd be, it still was much better than what she'd usually deal with. To pass the time, she decided to take out her phone and earbuds which she had actually bought this time. The boy saw her put her buds in and start something on her phone before putting it in her pocket. Curiosity got the better of him and his Pokemon and he stepped closer to her.

"Hey, what are you listening to?" He asked.

"It's a song called: 'My world is burning down around me' by 'Fuck you dad'..." She says as the two's smiles had dropped. "It's a band."

The two stared at her for a second and the curiosity had died. The boy just stepped away to give her whatever space she might've needed. A part of her felt a little embarrassed because of how awkward she made it by casually telling him what she was listening to, forgetting that something like that was not normal in the world she was in.

Well, she figured it was too late to backtrack and just continued. Despite how far the lab looked, it didn't take long for them to reach it. However, it did feel long since there as no words exchanged between each other and the birdgirl was just listening to her music the entire time.

"And we're here." Ash says before he notices Octavia still walking. "Hey, Octavia." He says while tapping her shoulder as she stopped and took a bud out. "We're here."

"Oh… right." She says as she took out her earbuds and put them away. "So, this is the lab where you got Pikachu there?"

"Yep, it is." He tells her as he goes up to the gate. "Uh, by the way, I know you're not alright with being told not to swear, but we don't swear much here… in this world. So, for the sake of-"

"Got it, got it." She tells him.

Feeling assured, he opened the gate and they made their way to the front door. As they did, she looked up, feeling a little astonished.

"Dang, this place is big." She commented.

"Yep, seems bigger up close right?" He replied before he rang the doorbell.

"Coming." They heard a man's voice as they waited for a second before an old man had answered the door. "Ah, Ash, you're a bit later than I had thought."

"Hi, Professor Oak. I know, but I'm late because I wanted to bring someone today." Ash says as he stepped aside to reveal the girl that came with him.

"Uh… hi." Octavia says with a raised hand.

"Oh, hello dear. Now, what would your name be?" The man asked politely.

"... Octavia. The name's Octavia." She says while brushing her hair back.

"Well, it is nice to meet you, Octavia. My name is Professor Samul Oak." The man says with his hand out.

"Y-yeah, sure." She says while shaking his hand.

"I see you've already made a friend before your next travels. That quite quick, boy."

"Yeah. She's here to learn about Pokemon before she becomes a Trainer-" Ash was saying as the girl next to her interrupted.

"WHAT?! Uh… No! No, I'm not here to become a trainer, I uh… I'm just here to learn more about Pokemon… to see if I want to become a trainer, yeah." She quickly says.

"I see. Well, you've come to the right place. Ash here has traveled several regions and has learned quite a lot from his journey. I'm sure you'll learn quite a lot from him here." The man says as she looked at the boy who smiled at her. "Also with how much Pokemon he's gathered, I'm sure you won't have second thoughts about becoming a trainer."

"Right."

"Come on in." The man then says as he stepped aside.

The boy walked in while also gesturing for her to follow as she did so. As they walked through the building, they walked out back to the massive yard. Octavia was sort of amazed by such and seeing plenty of Pokemon as well.

"So, you own all these Pokemon?" She asked the boy.

"Nah, not all of them, but they should be around here somewhere…" Ash was saying before the ground started rumbling. "Oh boy."

"I suggest you step back at this point." Oak says as he led the girl away from the boy along with his Pokemon.

"Why? What is happen-What the fuck?!" She says as she saw a herd of Pokemon she didn't know running in the direction of the boy.

"Woah! Woah! Guys! GUYS! STOP!" The boy says while waving his hands as he backed up.

"What are you doing?! He's gonna get run over!" The girl yelled at the man.

Before anything could be done, Ash got practically trampled by all the hundreds of Pokemon, dust being left behind. As the dust was clearing up, Octavia looked out to where he was with worry seeing him on the ground supposedly hurt. Then she looked shocked as he hopped up and brushed off his shirt like it was nothing.

"Ash, are you okay?!" Oak called out.

"Yeah, I'm fine Professor!" He called back. "Nothing too-OWAH!" He shouted as he once again trampled. "Ah… nothing too bad!" He says as he sat up.

"Well, it seems the Tauros are happy to see you. As usual." The man says as he headed over and helped him up.

The girl looked shocked that he was just shrugging off the pain. 'Didn't he get ran over by a herd of bulls twice just now?' She thought before she ran over to them.

"Right, just wish they had another way of greeting me." The boy states.

"What… How-eh… wha-... How did you…" Octavia starts to say as she was trying to find the words. "I just… How are you still alive?"

"It's not a big deal. It happens all the time."

"All the… y-you get run over by those… what are they?"

"Tauros."

"Tauros, almost every day?"

"Well, maybe not every day, but I've gotten ran over a lot whenever I come to see them."

"I gh… What?" She was completely at a loss for words.

"I'm fine, nothing too bad."

"I don't blame her for such a reaction. I would feel the same way honestly." Oak says.

"Well, come on. I've got plenty of Pokemon."

Octavia tried to find her words, but Ash was already on his way through the field as the man followed behind with her going to catch up. Once again, he was acting so nonchalant about the whole thing and wasn't even acting like he was hurt. She didn't know how tough humans were, but she figured that one couldn't take all of those trampling over them like it was nothing.

'Maybe he's right. I shouldn't put too much thought into this. My head will explode from the logic of this world.' She thought to herself.

She then stopped as she felt some weight on her foot and turned before looking down. She saw what looked to be a weird Pokemon with a plant on its back that backed up to look up at her with its red eyes.

"Bulba!" It said with a while having a smile.

"Uh… hi?" She says before it walked back to her ankle and started rubbing against her boot. "... O-okay." She says not knowing what to do.

Ash and the man stopped and turned to her. She looked a little baffled before she looked around for a second before looking back at the little creature, then bending down as it stopped and looked at her. She hesitantly reached her hand out and started slowly rubbing its head as it cooed and rubbed against her.

"Looks like Bulbasaur has already taken a liking to you." Professor Oak says as he and they walk in front of her. "He's one of the few Pokemon I give to trainers to start their journey."

"I see. Well, does this one have a trainer?" Octavia asked.

"Yeah, it's me. Hey buddy." Ash says while bending down as he held his arms out.

"Bulbasaur." The Pokemon says as he ran over and hopped into his trainer's arms before snuggling into him.

"Yeah, I've missed you too buddy." The boy laughed as he pets the Pokemon.

"Um… so what can it do?"

"Well, he's a grass type, so he mostly knows grass type moves. Wanna show her, bud?" Ash asked the Pokemon in his arms who nodded. "Alright…" He looked around and saw a random nearby boulder before he put the Pokemon down and stood up. "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip!"

As he said so, Bulbasaur shot a vine out from his back and used to it attack the boulder and break it in half in just seconds. Octavia was taken aback from seeing such. She was shocked that something so small could do something so strong.

"Alright! Still as tough as ever." Ash says cheerfully.

"Bulba." The little Pokemon says with a smile.

Then they heard the sounds of other Pokemon and all of them turned to face the direction of such. They saw two Pokemon that the only girl there didn't recognize getting into a scuffle with each other. They did not look happy. Then Bulbasaur took it upon himself to run over and start yelling at the two as they yelled back at him. He quickly used his vines to smack their heads then it looked as though he was scolding them.

"Uh… what is going on?" Octavia asked as she stood up.

"Being of how many Pokemon are here, a lot of them get into fights with each other. Bulbasaur is one of the many who takes the role of keeping them in line." Professor Oak explained.

"That still sounds like a lot of work for something so small."

"It may seem so, but he seems to get the job done just fine."

"I see."

"Muuk!" Octavia jumped before she turned around and saw what looked like a giant blob with eyes and a mouth. "Muuuuuuk." It says as it slowly made its way to her.

"What the-" She says as she took several steps back. "What is that?"

"Don't worry. It's just Muk." Ash says as he casually walked over to the blob. "Hey, buddy! How're you doing?"

"Muuuuuk!" At the sight of his trainer, Muk had practically pounced him, causing Pikachu to jump off of his shoulder.

"Alright, alright. Good to see you too-WOAH!" The boy says before he fell over.

Instead of being aggravated, he just laughed it off. The girl just stared at him before Pikachu jumped onto her shoulder and just shrugged at her. She didn't know how to react, deciding to just let things be as they were. Then she felt something perch on her shoulder. She turned and saw some small yellow and brown bird that stared at her with a constantly shifting tilting.

"... Uh… hi?" She says awkwardly.

It moved closer to her as if to get a better look at her. Then it started rubbing its head against her as she was a little weirded out but decided to roll with it and start petting the bird creature. It cooed from such and then she heard wings flapping before seeing another bird-looking creature perch on top of her beanie. Then another came by and she was about to wave it away, but it just perched itself on her arm.

She shook her arm several times to get it off, but the last time it got off then went right back on her arm making her groan. Then several more came and started to surround her as even Pikachu looked shocked.

"Uh, a little help here!" She called out as the two boys noticed her situation.

"My goodness." Oak sighed as he walked over to her. "Alright everyone, get off of her." He says while waving his hand as they all fly off. "Apologies for that. They usually aren't like this."

"I-It's not…" She says before trying to fix her hair as Pikachu tried to help. "Uh, thank you."

"Seems like the flying type Pokemon have taken a liking to you as well. You seem very popular with them not long after arriving here."

Hearing that, the girl turned away in thought for a second. "Cannot imagine why." She muttered under her breath.

Ash chuckled as he got in front of them. "Yeah, maybe you could be a flying type Pokemon Trainer or something."

"... Good to know, I guess."

"Come on. I'll show you around some more."

With that, he took her by the hand and started to lead her through the field. She was about to slap his hand away and tell him not to touch her, but she didn't. She had a bit of red on her face before she decided to just catch up and walk side by side with him before taking her hand away. He wasn't bothered by her taking her hand back, but she did step back a bit before rubbing her hand a bit. She thought his hand touching hers was… good.

It was a little odd, but she couldn't deny that the soft touch of his hands felt good. She quickly shook it off and continued to walk with the boy.

(Later)

"This is Cyndaquil. It's a fire-type Pokemon from the Johto Region." Ash says while showing Octavia an echidna-looking Pokemon while they sat across from each other.

"Well, it looks kinda cute." She says.

"Wanna see something cool?" He asks before setting Cyndaquil down. "Show her, buddy."

"Cynda…" He said as he tilted his head up. "QUIL!" He then yelled as fire burst from his back as she leaned back in surprise, but then seemed amazed.

"Wow."

"Cool right?" Ash asked.

"Yeah. That's amazing." Octavia says as the Pokemon stopped the fire. "I know one thing's for sure that you don't see every day in Hell."

"I see. What kind of creatures are there in Hell exactly aside from demons?"

"Not much really. There are some normal birds here and there… I've seen a pig once. There are hellhounds, but they can talk so not like any of these guys."

"Gotcha. Stills sounds kinda neat."

"Not exactly. This place makes that place seem boring with what you've told me when I first came here. There's nothing that I know that's this interesting in all honesty."

"Ya sure? Surely it can't be that bad."

"Pikachu." Pikachu piped up.

"It's literally Hell."

"Yeah, but, you don't seem so bad."

Hearing that caused her to blush again before grabbing her beanie and pulling it down to cover her face, leaving the boy and his Pokemon puzzled from such a reaction. Octavia wanted to change the subject and tried to think of something else to talk about.

"So… uh… is there any kind of… mysterious Pokemon you could tell me about?" She asked.

"Hmm." Ash put his hand to his chin in thought. "Oh, I know." He says as he pulled out his Pokedex and started looking through it. "Here's this one." He then showed her the screen which had a yellow Pokemon with what looked like a pendant attached to a string.

"... W-What am I looking at here?" She asked, confused.

"It's a psychic-type Pokemon. Its name is Hypno, known for using Hypnosis."

"Well, ain't that ironic." She says while taking it to look closer.

"There are plenty of other psychic-types out there, though this is one of many in my region. You're right though, I guess it is kinda obvious just from its name what it is."

Octavia starts to read its summary and got shocked by one line. "When it is very hungry, it puts people to sleep, and eats their dreams… Okay as freaky as that sounds, that's pretty sick."

"... Well, it does have a move called Dream Eater." The boy says as he rubs the back of his head.

"It leads children away by hypnotizing them and they're never seen again-" She then read before he took the dex from her.

He started to read through it. Sure enough, it was there. He looked back at her and tried to find his words.

"Uh…" He says before he starts looking through the Pokedex trying to find a better entry. "Look see this?" He then shows a picture of a redfish. "This Pokemon is known as Magikarp and it evolves into this." He then showed what looked like a large wingless dragon-like creature. "Known as Gyrados."

"... Okay, that's pretty cool." She says as he sighed in relief.

"Yeah. People say that Magikarp can be pretty useless, but once it evolves, suddenly everyone wants it. Pretty crazy honestly."

"Well, guess that's… evolution for you?" She then got an idea of what to ask about next. "Can you tell me more about this whole, evolving thing?"

"Hmm… well, I did tell you about it before didn't I?"

"All you told me was that they glow and transform. Is that all?"

"Oh… guess I was being a little fast with that one, huh?" Ash asked before laughing to himself. "But that is basically the short version of it. It's got more of an explanation, I can go on about it if you want."

"I mean, like I said, this is kinda the most entertainment I've had in a while."

"Alright then. You see, evolution is kind of a thing that most Pokemon gain from turning stronger. However, that's not the only way that Pokemon can evolve."

"Okay, continue."

"For some Pokemon, they can evolve through nature and some depending on what season it is. Although there are also some things like stones that can also help Pokemon evolve as well. But Pokemon can also evolve due to how much care you give them."

"... That sounds like something you'd say in a kid's show."

"It may sound ridiculous to some people, but it works."

"Well, you're the expert here." Octavia says before something perched itself on her beanie again. "Oh, come on!" She says while waving her hand to try and get it off her.

"Talon!" It cawed out before landing on her head again.

"Talonflame, come here buddy." Ash says as the bird flew down onto his arm. "See you're doing okay."

"Talon!" It cawed once more.

"That's yours too?" The girl asked.

"Yep. I got him from Kalos which is actually the last region I've been to."

"I see." She says before looking at its red feathers. "Does that use fire?"

"It does. I'd show you one of his attacks, but with how strong they are, I don't think this is the best place."

"Good point, I wouldn't want to start a forest fire either." She says before a thought occurred and she took out her phone. 'Shit I should probably get back before…' She was thinking before she heard felt the ground shake below her and a shadow loomed over her.

She slowly turned around and saw what looked like a huge dragon with wide ears and a purple stomach looking at her, tilting its head when making eye contact. Her eyes widened from the intimidating sight of the Pokemon.

"Hey, Noivern!" Ash says as the dragon's attention. "How're you doing buddy." He says as he walked over to it and started petting its head.

"Noivern." It cooed.

"... You have a dragon too?" Octavia says in shock.

"Pretty cool right?"

"Uh… I guess." She says before thinking. 'Holy shit. This world is crazy.'

"Noivern here is a Pokemon that mainly uses sound as its power. It's stated to emit powerful ultrasonic waves that can destroy even boulders."

"That's nice." She says while staring at the dragon who stared back. She felt a little uneasy from the stare before it approached her as she was about to crawl away until it started rubbing its head against her face. "H-hey, knock it off." She says as the boy laughed.

"Ya know, I didn't expect this many Pokemon to take an interest in you."

"Uh… in the sense because I'm… you know…"

"Well… I don't really know to be honest. But hey, I'm sure you could become a pretty nice Pokemon Trainer."

"Hold on, I never said anything about becoming a Pokemon Trainer." Octavia quickly cleared up, as she got Noivern off her. "I think they're cool and whatnot, but I don't want to become a trainer for these things."

"Sorry."

"Besides, I can't be traveling around on this planet. If my parents find out that I even came to this world and have been around someone he doesn't know, much less a human, then I'll probably be grounded for life."

"It's that bad?"

"Well, when you're the pr… a resident in Hell. Besides, I already used my dad's book twice without permission, I'd rather not know what he's like if he finds out."

"How would he react?"

"If you had seen how much he treats me like a toddler, you'd understand." Octavia tells him before looking up. "Fuck. Hey, look, I'm sorry if I might be cutting this visit short again, but I gotta go." She says while getting up.

"W-wait, already? It hasn't been that long." Ash says, not noticing one Pokemon making its way over.

"I get that, but my dad might find out, I gotta go." She says as she took out the marker and opened a portal which shocked many Pokemon around her and something falling in. "See ya later, I guess."

She then jumped in and the portal disappeared instantly as Ash tried to get one last word in, but lost his chance. "Aw man. I didn't even get to say bye to her this time." He groaned.

"Pika, Pika." Pikachu also groaned.

As Octavia had made it back home, she was thankful to not be hearing her parents fighting. She sighed in relief before returning to normal form. She then put her hand to her chest as she laid on her bed. As cliche as it may seem, spending time with that human boy actual made her day. And she thought that maybe, just maybe that today-

"Osha." Her eyes widened at the sound.

She sat up and looked around, then she heard a creak and turned to the door before spotting some small creature with a blue body and white head making its way out of her room. She stared for seconds before saying…

"Aw shit."

To be continued…

Yep. Consider this an early Christmas special from me to you. Unfortunately, I can't write an actual Christmas special as I keep forgetting that it's not at the end of the month like an idiot. Still, hope you enjoyed this chapter and stay tuned.
