A/N: Double drabble set in S04E03.
They are back in Kendall's apartment, drinking and watching the coverage on TV. Roman still looks white and shaken. It's like a part of him died when he went to see Logan on the plane.
"Are you okay?" Kendall asks. He has his own pain to contend with, but it's his duty as a brother to ask. It's a ridiculous question, the world has ended.
"Yeah," says Roman. Kendall waits for him to continue. "I just didn't know that a broken heart meant literally broken, you know? Like, I feel like there's a knife in my chest."
"I know," says Kendall. "I thought I knew pain, after the waiter kid." Roman looks at him; they haven't really talked about that since the initial conversation. "But that was nothing. I'd knock off a few more caterers if it meant having five more minutes with Dad."
"I would kill everyone on the face of the planet for one more moment with Dad," says Roman. "Including you."
Roman gets it. Kendall reaches for his brother's hand in a display of gratitude.
"I don't mean that, by the way," says Roman after a minute. "It's just the grief talking."
"I know, dude. I know."
