I breathed heavily as I watched the crimson blood drop on the ground in large amount, is this how blood feels? Not that I haven't lost blood before. It's really disgusting warm. Just, how exactly did I reached this moment? The melancholic yet maniac thought emerged as a smile crept up on my face.
"Baru, Baru!" A silver bell like voice chimed.
Someone's calling me?
I quickly open me eyes. Weird. Bustling sound of market could be heard. I analysed my surroundings. In front of me stood Emilia with worry on her face, fully clean as not a single blood of mine was there. Speaking of blood I instinctively put my right hand over my abdomen. Not a single word came from my mouth. My eyes widened in shock. And just at that time, I felt a warm hand holding my hand.
"Baru! You okay? You have been acting strange lately." Emilia said with worry on her face.
"Emilia? We were at the market, weren't we?" I asked as just a moment ago we were at the market fighting an assassin. As I remembered that my eyes quickly started scanning the enemy, my body ready for a fight. Wait sure we were fighting the assassin but didn't I die? The thief died?
'Subaru, you okay? Your heart rate sped up suddenly.' Kuro said calmly. As that was a strategy we had developed whenever even in a life threatening situation at least one of us has to remain calm.
"Emilia? Weren't we fighting an assassin?" I said in trembling voice while omitting the part which was the most gruesome where I and thief died.
"Baru, I know that someone is following us and you also must have noticed it but we haven't had a fight with anybody. We just came from dropping the shopping items at the inn."
"Emilia, can you give me moment to rest?" I asked as not only my voice but my entire body was shaking.
"Sure, you can rest if you want you can rest at the inn too as your entire body is shaking. You always hide your weaknesses from me. And We have one more day to roam the capital. If you have any problem don't hesitate to share with me I will help in any possible way."
"No it's okay Just let me sit for a moment."
I sat on the nearby bench. Okay first breath in and breath out. Calm yourself first. Okay fully calm. I put my hand on my face and now let's analyse the situation. First now we are in the park where we were sitting for a bit after dropping the items at the inn. This means that Plum is still in the market lost and we haven't helped her.
"Hey Emilia-tan have we helped a lost girl yet?" I asked while still looking at the ground.
"No, we haven't. Is something a problem?" Okay that confirms it that we haven't helped Plum.
"Nah just asking. I suddenly had a headache."
"Want me to use healing magic?" Emilia-tan asked. Of
"No no no no I am fully okay the headache is also gone. I don't want to cause you any trouble. Just let me sit for a while." I frantically said.
"Hmm ok if any problem just say it to me." Emilia-tan said with a small smile.
"Yeah don't worry about it."
Okay first off all this means that it's not been too long from the time I have regained my memories of my Japan life and my forgotten past. But I can definitely say that what happened afterwards wasn't a hallucination. It actually happened. That fight with the assassin actually happened. The bloodlust which i had for revenge it was definitely real. I still can feel the pain from the cut on my abdomen. And I ... Died. 'Ah I don't wanna die yet.' As my last thought emerged i could feel i was sweating. Man i never expected that i would die and come back again. Wait does this means i have came back in time?
There are three options, 1: My memory has been overwritten or I have got the memory of the future. 2: It's just a foresight. 3: My soul has been transferred to another parallel world in a before moment I die.
Every theory has a plot holes. In the first theory, I don't think any magic exists where time can be stopped or reversed. In second theory, if it's a foresight how am I supposed to know the exact features of a person I haven't met yet, while the fighting style can be predicted I still haven't learnt or met a person who knows Gutesko's fighting style. In third theory, crossing another world is too bizarre and will probably require a lot of mana which I can't use as my od is way too weak to handle such large amount of mana, but still it can be a bit possible if I use all of my spirits at ones for mana. But I don't know if such spell exists.
Still I really don't want to believe the third as that means I have left Emilia alone. DAMN IT. Okay let's just believe the first theory which means it is a time leap. Lets give it a name shall we? ... Okay I will call it 'Return by death' as this power only activates at the time of death or by being near death. But calling it returning in time when I am about to die sounds like a light novel title. So lets stick with the first one.
"Okay! I am fully recovered!" I exclaimed with a bright smile.
"Are you sure?" Both Kuro and my spirits and Emilia-tan asked at the same time. What a good synchronisation.
"Yes I am fully sure that I am fine! Enough being tired and stuff." I said with energetic voice.
Emilia-tan sighed and said,"If you say so." While Kuro and others remained silent.
"Emilia-tan, first we should rendezvous with Ram, so let's go to the Crossing where there is a fountain." While capital is huge city or a largest city of Lugunica which holds a 3 lacs people which I think is a bit lower as merchants,travellers and other people often go from here and there.. It would have been way harder to find that place but since we are in the market sector and just in the morning we have seen one, I don't think I need to explain in detail where that place is.
"Why? Is something a matter?" Emilia-tan asked.
"Nah, I think I need to shop something and I really don't want you to see those things. Please."
"Fine if you say so." Emilia-tan said as she sighed.
"Thanks, lets explore the capital tomorrow. First we should rendezvous with Ram and then you can continue your shopping."
"Baru, don't treat me as I would get lost or anything and I also can defend myself you know that right." Emilia-tan said as she pouted. She sure is cute.
"I know that you're already stronger than me but let's talk while walking so the person who is following us doesn't know that we know that he or she is following us." While I definitely know that person is she but still I have to play like that I don't know.
We leaved the park and started moving towards the fountain. As for why the fountain place specifically, well it's because since the that place is near the inn. And Ram
"Barusu I know that you are pretty stupid and will do something stupid, so I will use my synesthesia every once in a hour till evening, so if you get separated like small children or need any help, I will help you. Just wave a bit."
"Thanks Ram, we really appreciate your help." We both said.
"Heh, that's my job. No need to thank me."
Well that's what I would like to say but I had to make Ram do that as she was like she wouldn't even care if any of us would get lost in this big city. It sure was a tough job but had to threaten her with lowering her income by informing to Roswaal.
We reached the fountain place and waited for a while as the time Ram would activate her synesthesia was a bit afterwards. After looking at the clock which was way different than Earth, I raised my hand for 10 seconds. And then we waited for a while as I filled in a bit of information to Emilia-tan. Still I omitted many parts and my theories.
And after a bit of time, we could see a pink silhouette. And then she approached us.
"So Barusu, what's the matter. Did you lose your money or something?" Ram said in her usual tone.
"Of course not! Do I look like a child to you?!"
"Heh, your behaviour seems like a small child though." Ram shrugged and said.
"Ok enough bantering lets get to the main topic." Emilia-tan clapped and tried to diffuse the banter.
"So, Barusu what's the matter?"
"Well, I have some private work so I have to go but I want Emilia-tan to be with you." I said.
"I would like to ask why since Emilia-sama is already strong enough to defend herself from an enemy and great spirit-sama is there too, so why?" Ram asked as I thought.
"I know she is strong enough. But ..." I didn't plan what to say as I was busy worrying about the assassin and the thief!
"Ram I would like to say something so can you come a bit aside." Yes! Emilia-tan to rescue.
"Sure Emilia-sama what's the matter?"
"Yes and Kuro can you block Baru's hearing for a bit?" Emilia said. Wait what do yo mean by that?! I also want to listen!
"Sure!" Kuro said. And then my hearing got blocked. I couldn't even make out what Emilia-tan said by her movement as she had blocked it by her hand. And since I mostly used my elf ears to listen to far sounds without magic. There was no way I could know what she is saying. The bustling sound of the market seems like nothing... Is this how deaf people feel, man it's quite scary for some reason. Maybe because even though I learnt how to block hearing I never did it for myself as I would just lower the sound. Maybe I should look at Emilia-tan's face it may help me to calm down.
Just as Emilia-tan finished her saying a pink hue formed on cheek of Ram...wait is she blushing? I have never seen her like that..maybe. After finishing her saying, Ram grabbed Emilia-tan's hand and said:
"Definitely Emilia-sama I would definitely help you!" Ram energetically said. Oh I guess Kuro ended the spell.
But,This maybe the first time she is willing to do some work this energetically or maybe it's my first time watching her like that but the main thing is!
"Hey Emilia-tan..what did you say I wanna hear it too."
"Hm thats a secret." Emilia-tan said as she put a finger on her lips and smiled.
I really wanted to know what she said but cute.
So now I am finally alone huh? After Emilia-tan and Ram-chi both went hurriedly so that couldn't be helped. Well that's what I wanted so that's good. I can finally think freely without any care.
Now I can start my plan.
'Kuro, Isaac,Garet,Misty,Aqua,Ivan, Lecca, Daiya and Haruto listen carefully okay? So...everyone understood?'
'yeah leave it to us.'
'Ok so let's get moving then.'
And then nine of my spirits went in a group of three to their given roles.
And now I have to roam the capital while I wait for the signal.
Okay so how I am here walking in this bustling market with cute girl on my shoulders. That's a not much big neither a short story so let me tell you.
So as I was walking in market just wandering around, waiting for the signal. And then I saw a familiar face. A face which I had seen just some hours before. A girl with green hair ready to cry at any moment trying to find anyone who could help her as she was lost among the crowd. Yes, she was none other than Plum herself. Well I was busy thinking and strategizing about the assasin that I forgot about her.
I just stood a distance from her and watched to see if anyone would help her. A minute passed but the crowd paid no attention to her. Well then, it can't be helped. I sighed. Seriously this people discriminate us demi-humans especially me and Emilia-tan cause of our similar looks to the warlock and witch and aren't even ready to help us normal kid huh? Its good that my hair is now white otherwise some would have already come to kill me, not that I am scared or anything. Anyways, lets help her, I don't have the guts to see a kid crying while I do nothing. I thought as I slumped my shoulders with a chuckle.
I started going inside the crowd towards her. And finally reached her. She looked at me as she was about to cry as somebody had finally came to help her.I crouched to her level and said with a small smile.
"Hey, kid you lost or something?" In a soft voice as much as I could muster. And the dam finally broke. She hugged me and started crying, I also patted her on her back.
"There, there, it was tough right.. it's okay, I will help you." I continued patting her till she had finally calmed down.
"Okay, now that you have finally calmed down. Can you tell me your name? And yeah here is a handkerchief." I asked even though I knew to not let her know that I know her name and offered her a handkerchief.
"Its Plum Risch. Thank you." Plum said and took the the handkerchief to dry her tears.
"My name is Subaru Natsuki. Nice to meet you. Now then let's find your parents."
"Nice to meet you too."
"Well then can you tell me where do you live or something related to your parents?" I asked.
"My father name is Kadomon Risch and he sells the best fruits in the capital."
"Okay, well then let's go to find your parents. Here you can hold my hand to not get lost again." I said with a smile. And the girl accepted it.
And just like this we started walking.
"So Plum, how did you got lost here?" I asked as we have been walking for five minutes and reaching her mother will probably take more ten minutes, so I asked even though knowing what can be reason.
"I and my mother were shopping in the capital and then I got attracted towards a shop and when I saw my mother going other way i started following her. But when I got a good look on her face, it was some other person and that's how I got lost." Plum said as she got a bit sad.
"Okay you are probably tired of standing and walking for so long, so wanna sit on my shoulders? In that way you can see your mother from far and you won't get lost again either because of the crowd." I said to cheer her up.
"Can I?" She asked with a smile.
"Of course." I said as I lifted her up and let her sit on my shoulders.
"Thank you Subaru Oni-san!"
And that's how I got here. Well there was no need to do that but if I could cheer her up then it was worth it. While I definitely remember the way her father's shop, so I could easily just pick her up and swiftly move towards the shop through the roofs but as a candidate I don't want to get a stamp of lolicon or whatever and neither I want to scare her. Also getting her lost is not going to happen And plus it would be a big trouble If the assassin comes to attack her.
And just like that we started walking again. After some moment a loud sound came.
"THUD!"
So the signal finally came huh? Assassination successful.
"Oni-san did you hear that sound?"
"Yeah probably someone's vase fell on the ground. Don't worry about that, can you see your mother though." I said with a grin.
"No, I can't"
"Well then let's continue our search." But the main problem is that instead of going towards her mother, we are going towards their a father's shop as I don't remember where exactly we had met her mother.
Great that the assassination of the assassin was successful. I would definitely make hell for that woman if she had let this kid in the crossfire.
'Subaru assassination is done.' Kuro's unit reported.
'We have successfully made the thief to change the paths too and she has taken the insignia.' Aqua's unit reported
'Here is fine too, nobody is following Emilia and the red head maid.' Daiya's unit reported.
'Great but still she will regenerate or get revived so buy some more time for me. And as for Aqua's unit just make sure to not let her nearby Kuro's unit. For Daiya's unit just make distance with them and if anyone suspicious comes nearby just alert them ' I said as I putted my finger near my ear to connect with Kuro and the others
'Got it' everyone said.
'And yeah can you tell the co-ordinates of yours?'
'Still in the market sector and seven'o clock from you at a a distance of 2.4 km.' Daiya reported.
'Going towards the slum area and three'o clock from you at a distance of 9.7km.' Aqua reported.
'just eleven'o clock at a distance of 1km.' Kuro reported
'ok keep distance between yourselves and follow the plan any inconveniences just report it to me.'
'Roger.' Everyone ended the connection.
Okay so the thief is furthest and the assassin is the nearest huh? Well let's take a detour and quickly reach the shop.
So let me explain my plan I am just walking.
'Kuro, Isaac,Garet,Misty,Aqua,Ivan, Lecca, Daiya and Haruto listen carefully okay?
First you nine of you are going to be split in three units. Kuro, Garet and Misty in one unit. Second unit is of Isaac, Aqua and Ivan. And the third unit is of Lecca Daiya and Haruto. So let me explain all of your roles and what's the situation. I am going to tell the situation to everyone so listen carefully.
First an assassin and a thief is following us. Just when the thief will try to steal my insignia, the assassin is going to attack us. Since we have split with Emilia-tan. I want to see the thief and assassin are targeting whom. So the third unit which consists of Lecca, Daiya and Haruto will follow Emilia-tan and maintain distance with her. If you find any suspicious person especially in all black clothes and kukri knives , report it to me and if a fight occurs assist them if necessary. I will come as fast as possible with help.
And for Kuro's unit, you are supposed to assassinate the assassin and then report it to me. First form a ice shard with the help of Garet and Misty and then increase the weight by using Vita and drop on her as a artillery with this enough sound will be produced to let me know that I can make my move, also report to me when the first assassination is done. And don't let her know that you are trying to kill her.
And as for Aqua's unit, you are supposed to follow the thief, I will drop my insignia on my way and make her go a round or something such that there will be some distance between us and let her take the insignia. If she is following Emilia-tan then use magic to make her change her ways and move her towards the insignia. Any one will make sure that the insignia is not taken by somebody else. Report at the same time as everyone if it's successful or not
That's it any doubts about why I am doing this I will tell you later and how I know a thief and assassin are behind us , that thing I can't tell you guys about that. Sorry for that. So I request you to trust me like always and help me.
'We are definitely going to help you. That spirit is trash if it doesn't help it's contractor you know.' Everyone said.
'Thanks guys, well then let's get this over!'
'Yeah!'
After some while we finally reached the shop. And the shopkeeper saw us, he came running towards us. He was tall man with green hair and a some stick or whatever it was in his mouth. He wore a black vest with a bandana on his head. He also had a scar on his face. Probably from some weapon I think.
'Hey Plum, what are you doing here especially on some stranger's shoulder." I let her down from my shoulders and just as she reached the ground she hugged her father.
"Dad, I got separated from mom and Subaru Oni-san helped me." After hugging her back. The merchant bowed his head and said
"Thank you very much, you helped my daughter. I really would be distraught without her. I thank you from my bottom of my heart sir!" He sure must have thought me as a nobel because of my clothes.
"No need to thank me mister, I just helped the person in need. I couldn't desert a kid like that." I said as I waved my hands.
"NO I must thank you here you have some of my fruits." Kadomon sure looked like he wanted to show his gratitude as most of the nobles are way too arrogant which I have experienced.
"Well I don't need them but can you tell me something?" I asked.
"Of course if I know I will definitely answer your question."
"You see since I am new in the capital so I don't know much about this place so can you tell me where is a direction of the slums? You can just point it straight."
Kadomon thought in a thinking position for a while. "Slums huh?... There it must be there I think if you go straight but since there are building you just have to travel through the roads though. If you want I can give you a map." He suggested.
"There huh.. well I don't need the map so thanks for the direction. Make sure to look after Plum so she doesn't get lost again." I said as I patted her.
"Yes definitely." Kadomon said with a smile.
"Hey can I take a appa?"
"Sure"
I took one appa or apple in modern Japan and started eating it. In a minute I ate it and bid farewell to them.
"Well thanks for the information and appa again. See ya again sometime " i said as I started walking towards the direction where the slums were. I stood before a shop and a building. Now then.
"Murak" I muttered and my body became lighter. I removed my whip out of my sleeve and He used the whip and then a part of it hit a part of the wall. I grabbed the whip and pulled myself, I jumped and because of my low weight I got up from the ground and then I put my leg on one of the stands of shop and climbed the wall by propelling myself by using magic which some part resembles Roswaal's flying magic. I did this trick in front of the crowd and after reaching the top I saw the crowd and they were looking with surprised faces. I couldn't help but chuckle. Ah I forgot that there was a crowd behind me. Even Kadomon and Plum were surprised. Well you don't get to see a person climbing the walls like that everyday. Still never expected that I will use my parkour skills in the capital which I learnt in the Elior forest.
Anyways lets go to the slums then. I turned myself towards the direction of slums. Murak is still active. I formed my minya boots and increased the weight so I won't be floating like a feather. I started my radio calisthenics a bit and finally took the position they take in marathons and races. Okay so let's go to the slums then.
I used wind magic to get fast acceleration and took of with a high speed. I think I heard a roof top falling, well I hope they don't mind fixing at least one.
I sprinted with a high speed. Running and Running. Jumping between the buildings and finally when the main Street came I took a leap and jumped on one carriage which was approximately 5 metres away but since I was using wind and fire magic to boost my jump it was quite easy. The people walking near the footpath just watched me with surprised looks.
"Mom, look monkey!" Hey! I am definitely not a monkey okay!
I leaped again on another carriage and this continued for about four more carriages and I finally reached the wall and started my running again on the rooftops.
This continued for approximately three and half hours before I finally reached the outskirts of slums. I was a bit tired but thanks to my elven stamina I was able to run this long. If I had walked there then probably it would have taken six to seven hours as capital is quite big you know including that I went from the third Market or Commercial district to the last one if I went from the first then by foot then it would have taken one and a half day or more. And I haven't even included where I would have to ask people for directions.
So let's finally rendezvous with Kuro and Aqua's unit.
It's probably three to four solar time now. Tracking the thief shouldn't be a problem as not one but three spirits are following her. While I could have taken some knights with me to help if I encounter the assassin again but I am sure knights don't come to this district much specially the slums. So the thief will probably know about them and finding her would be a problem with knights. And also I don't want burdens as an average knight is much weaker then me.
I started walking in the slums, the eerie atmosphere hanging in the background. As I was walking, I could see some people running away after seeing me. Some had terrified look on their face, regardless of age. I knew that if I ask for help for directions nobody will help. Well, it can't be helped as I wasn't even trying to hide my ears, this worked both to advantage as keeping unnecessary fights away and at disadvantage when I need help and the other person flees. Not that I care as I already had grown used to it. The continuous discrimination of Demi-humans in the elior forest, a bit at Arlam Village and even at the capital when we tried to buy something and the shopkeeper kicked us out.
I walked silently. Not even my shoes made any noise as I had developed a skill of walking and running silently. It was a really helpful skill if you want to survive in the forest, it makes hunting easier by that still if your smell is strong then it's no use.
The foul stench entered my nose, seeing so many people wearing rags just lying on the ground. Both humans and demi-humans. I won't be surprised if theft was a common thing here. Some people have to do it for survival in this cruel world. I guess no matter which world the problem of poverty will always be there. ...another reason to participate in the elections. I couldn't help but sigh.
'Hey! We are final back!' I heard three voices of my spirits friends.
'Good, how did it go?' i asked without going off topic.
'yeah pretty good we were able to kill her three times before she escaped us.' Garet said.
'She didn't see all, right?'
'Nah we successfully assassinated the assassin without her knowing who assassinated her.' Kuro said.
'Good, now let's keep moving forward.'
'yeah!' Everyone said.
'You all seem pretty excited about it huh? Even though I haven't tell you all about the full plan.' I said with a smile.
'Still I would like to say something.' I added
'Sure?'
'So as we all know some assassin was following us and also a thief. Well you see, that thief is also a royal candidate.'
'What!? You kidding?!'
'Yeah and now I will try to convince that girl to join the elections while also there is some assassin we will still be dealing with today. And about how I know all this stuff, I cant tell you all, so please help me like always.'
'Of course Subaru, we are your friends right? Why won't we?' Everyone said even though I couldn't see their faces, I knew they all had warm smiles on their faces.
'Thank You guys very much...and also there's a chance that I may die while fighting this assassin too.'
'Ok'
'What? Give some good reaction man! I just said that I may die and you're being as way too casual!'
'Yes we heard you but aren't you always walking a fine line between death and life? Even though we won't approve you still do some dangerous shit anyways. Now you're still doing it. I and everyone knows you may die but we'll try our best to help you. So we'll do everything in our power to help you and survive.' Kuro said.
'Th-thank you guys.'
And thus the conversation came to end as I started planning for the slum house negotiations.
And finally after 10 minutes of tracking, I reached the place where that thief is along with my spirits.
I had walked far enough that I had reached the end of the capital city itself. A wall could be seen there. A tall wall of approximately 15 metres I think.
I stood there in front of the loot house, it was rare to see such huge buildings in such place. It was so huge that it was taller than the wall itself. A old house I may say as from the looks it was noticeable that it hadn't been repaired for years but still standing.
I finally knocked on the door. And a old voice asked.
"What's the password?"
"Open, sesame?" I replied not knowing the password.
"That's definitely not the password kid." An old man opened the door. He was a huge bald man with a Black vest and some marks on his face. If he stood straight then he would definitely be to twice my height. From the looks he is definitely a giant.
"Hey! That's the person from whom I stole the badge! " The blond girl exclaimed as she was quite shaken from seeing me from her seat. She also muttered, "how did he know I am here, I made sure that nobody was following me." But I heard her by using my elf ears as well as heightening my senses.
"Wait! Wait! No need to resort to violence! I am just here to negotiate!" I quickly said as I didn't wanted and fights.
"Negotiate?" The old man asked instead.
"Yeah. Whatever the price your client is paying you I will give you double!" I placed my first card.
I could see the eyes of the thief sparkling with greed. This greed may kill her someday.
"I see then lets talk but if you do something consider yourself dead." The girl said.
I entered the loot house showing signs of carelessness intentionally. And sat on the chair opposite of which the thief was sitting.
"So, before we begin let me introduce myself. I am Natsuki Subaru." I introduced myself, so that I can know the name of this girl as just saying their or girl was way too annoying.
The girl sighed and said, "Do we really need to do this? Well, I am Felt, I have no family name, so just Felt. And this here is Old man Rom." The girl or I should say 'Felt' said as she pointed at herself and then to the old man.
"Ok, so enough introductions let's get to the negotiations."
"You really don't like to beat around the bush don't you?"
"Of course, money is quite important for survival."
"Yeah yeah, but you do have the insignia right?" I asked
"Of course! You just let it fell on the ground intentionally right?" She reached into her breast pocket and showed the insignia which emitted a bright red glow from the jewel. If my theory is correct then she's going to be very useful in royal selection.
"You got it right. I had to. But now I am offering 15 gold coins." I placed all of my coins on the table.
I knew, she would notice that I had intentionally let it fall. And she surely took turns here and there to see if someone was following her but since my spirits don't take forms it would be way too hard to know that a spirit is following you.
"Fifteen, sure is a big amount but my client is offering more, so unless you have more you've lost before you even began." Felt said while shrugging while old man Rom counted the coins.
"I see, how much is your client paying you then?" I asked.
"10 holy coins." She flat out said. So I lost by 5 gold coins huh? Wel, considering her, I can definitely say if I offered her more she definitely would've said that she would first see who bids more for the insignia.
"Well, how about I offer 50?" Both their eyes widened at my statement.
"Now you must be joking as that's a amount that nobody would carry themselves or you've a item that valuable?" The old man said.
"Well if you could get out of slums and live a good life without poverty what do you think, would you live one?" I directed the question at Felt.
"Of course any person in slums would like to, are you taunting us by saying this?" Felt said with one brow up.
"Of course not, what I meant is, Felt would you like to run for the throne?" I asked directly
"Huh? What do you mean?! Like being a king of this shitty country?" Man when will this question and answer will end?
"Yeah, you know right that the royal family died and someone is needed to make a contract with the dragon?"
"Yes of course everyone knows that but how can you say that?"
"Well you see like me, you're also a royal candidate." I decided to reveal my candidacy.

"That stone in the middle could be a magic one which shines in ones hand?" Old man Rom said his doubt.
"Hm you can try holding it and see it for yourself." I said confidently. And when old man Rom took the insignia it didn't glow at all.
"Well now that you know it. Would you like to run for the elections?"
"I will like to but...will those old bags would accept a slum dweller in elections like me?"
"Don't worry about that, I can handle them but what's your decision?"
"If you want to then I am in no position to stop you, do as you like Felt, you've become a grown up."
"Old Man Rom?" The blonde looked at her grandfather for a bit.
"If I can get out of slums... And can kick those snobbish nobles...Then I am ready!" Felt said with confidence. The nobles part was whispered but I heard because of my heightened senses. That's some info though. But it's good that she took the bait. Now...

"Now, now do you think we're fools? You're gonna give us to knights or makes us slaves right?" Now her doubts towards me has rosed more.
"Well I don't think I need slaves and I am not that cruel enough that I would give someone trying hard enough to knights but if you don't hurry then we all will die her understand my point Felt!" I showed a bit of anger.
"Why would you think we'll believe you anyway? And how can you say that my client will kill me?" Good question but I had already predicted and prepared for it.
I could see Rom holding his club and preparing for a fight if it started.

So you see, I have a divine protection of Blood foresight or that's what I call it, it gives me a glimpse of a future if there is gonna be any bloodshed even if its a single drop." I made this all up to cover the Return by death ability, i don't think revealing this would be a good idea so I thought of a another way to tell how I know all this info. A convenient and harmless way. If I reveal that I have an authority or warlock factor or I am related to warlock then they both will jump into action immediately.
"And for how can I say why your client will kill so let me explain. You remember when you were gonna dash and try to steal the insignia. You would've been caught by me and my friend. After a bit, your client will attack us in which you would've died in the crossfire. And even if I leave now you both would still die because of your candidacy Felt. She is actually an assassin hired by someone to kill the candidates. That's why I had to intentionally Let the insignia fall to prevent any blood shed.
"And yeah my divine protection activated when you opened the door so Rom you were about to smash my head right? And about the fact that I want to kill any of you, If I wanted then you would've died when you let me enter so no worries about that." I added while looking at Rom's club. Both had become tensed when I said about the stuff and were ready to attack Felt had grabbed her dagger while Rom had quickly held his club, of course that's another matter that my spirits warned me beforehand about the attack.
"I think I've said twice that I don't want any blood shed so calm down." Two swords manifested in their necks ready to stab the neck of both.
"Try to use your weapon or divine protection, and you're dead." I said in a tense voice.
Rom sighed and said,"fine I think I can believe I've lived long enough that I can tell if anyone's lying so Felt don't worry he's a good person, I can tell he's not gonna kill us." Ok i got Rom to believe me.
"Smart move, man. I really didn't want to use force." The swords vanished.
"Felt don't worry lower your weapon." I said with smile.
"Yeah Felt, even if he won't kill, I think your client cant be trusted."
"But! Old man Rom you can fight her right?" The blonde said in protest.
"Forget it she's really strong, I don't know myself if I can defeat her." I said while looking sideways still shamed that I lost.
"Have you battled her?"
"Remember by Divine protection?" "Ok ok"
"So kid what do you think we should do?" Old man Rom asked.
"Well let's get away from here for now. I will handle how to introduce you to the council, so even if you don't live with me they can provide you protection."
"Fine." Felt said while slumping.
"Shit! She's here!" I said surprised.
"Huh?! Oh it's time for her arrival. But how do you know she's near?" Shit I spent a lot of time convincing them.
"My spirits warned me
"Damn it! if I could've been a bit fast then this wouldn't have happened. Ok fine, listen you both will escape from here while I stall her a bit." I said in a firm voice showing the situation is still under control.
"Spirits user?!" Rom exclaimed. "This is not the time to explain what I can do!"
"Knock knock!"
'Aqua freeze the door knob!' 'roger'
"But how will we escape?" Felt asked"You will take the another exit." I grinned.
"But there is only one door." Rom interjected.
"We'll make a new one" I said as I raised my hand and
'Ivan, vaccum.' only a hmm came in reply. And just in a second.
"Boom!" And hole emerged in the corner wall.
Both had surprised faces. "Ok don't worry about the noise, I've block all the senses of her. Felt you know how to use your divine protection right? Just try to escape with Rom and go the guard station and say there's a bowel hunter here." Felt answered with a nod.
"But, big bro survive ok?"
"Don't worry about that. Now go!" Just as they escaped the door opened. I am glad I made it in time.
"Oh so you were successful for letting them escape huh?" A lady's seductive voice said. A lady who had an erotic aura around her and the same person who had killed me before.
"Yeah you were too late well too bad." I said with a chuckle not even showing a hint of fear.
"I was quite surprised when I got all of my senses robbed you know and now you've robbed my targets. You definitely would have to pay the price." The woman said.
"Hm, well not my fault."
"I wonder how your guts of a guy with such a sharp mind and especially an elf would be like."
"Try to get it if you can."
"You're definitely a clever person, I may say, manipulated the thief and that old man and even me! You got her and me to take the routes that would suit you and convinced the girl for leaving while waiting here for me, what a mastermind. So what do you want to discuss with me or manipulate me?"
"You sure got that all right. Well join me." She had known all of my moves. So I decided to do what I wanted from the start.
"Huh? What do you mean?" The assassin looked surprised.
"As I said join me. I'll pay whatever the amount you want and more than your client has paid you."
"Wow you even deduced that I was asked by someone else to fetch the insignia along with killing the two candidates."
My theory was correct why she killed Felt then since after seeing the insignia glow she tried to kill her not that she won't have even if she wasn't one.
"It was quite easy, The bowel hinter wont be just killing anyone with no motive right? So what do you think about the offer? If you want protection from your organization's boss then I can help you."
"Well I will say no, I really want to see your bowels and even if I want to, it'll be futile, you're way weaker than them." The assassin said.
"Fine, a battle you want huh? I will give you one." I said with a disappointed face.
"You know? Even if you predicted all the answers and stuff, but did you predicted your death?" The assassin said as she removed her blade in an instant out of nowhere .
"Yeah, I did." I did know it may happen but I am willing to take the risk.
The lady took a battle stance. I formed my shadow gauntlets and boots designed for close combat. Two swords emerged behind. Full attack stance huh?
"Elsa Granhiert, the bowel hunter." The assassin or now I should say Elsa got ready for the attack. But we've to introduce huh? Well it's a courtesy so lets just do it anyways.
"Subaru Natsuki, Sadly I've no title yet." I fought the urge to say it in Japanese style but was able to. I thought of saying the future ruler of lugunica but it would be shame for a ruler to lose so just didn't said it
Anyway, it's great now I know her name otherwise I was thinking to call her
'black bitch?' Kuro and 10 spirits said in unison.
'yeah?' 'See! We won!' the spirits celebrated.
'what?' I asked. 'you see we were betting to see which name will you give to this woman.
'oh and what were those names?'
'Mia's group had betted on Black widow Daiya's group had betted on big Bo...
'ok ok stop right there we're in a middle of a fight so continue your betting later.' Man my friends are weird betting on weird stuff.
'yes.' everyone said in unison.
"If you've completed your conversation then should we start?"
"Yeah sorry for inconvenience." I said, how did she know I was conversing with spirits, did she got clue when Kuro and others attacked? I make sure to keep a poker face when I am talking with them though.
The battle started.
Both of us dashed and for a second our blades clashed making the sound

We both retreated for a second and she tried an upper cut but I dodged and retaliated by trying to cut her hand which in turn came second blade of hers which was blocked by Kuro's blade following the first, his second blade came by slicing down.
"You knew that I had a second blade?" She asked.
"Yeah it was quiet easy." Just as I finished the sentence we both we 10 cm away from each other. Kuro swung his both blades to slice her head but she ducked quickly, using this opportunity I did an upper cut vertically upwards, hoping to cut her head vertically.
She quickly realized her mistake and took some steps back.
If this continued like this then I won't get a chance to damage her a bit while she will find a way to hurt me.
'okay Kuro don't take any action, let me do my thing and then let's attacks together. Ok?'
'Roger'
Elsa came quickly to attack. She tried to slice my stomach but I quickly tried to land a punch on her face, realizing this she changed the trajectory of her blade to my face. I took a step, using this time she tried again but I quickly grabbed the nearby chair and it got cut instead. Using these two pieces I attacked her smashing it into the ground.
She attacked again went to the side and fired an ice shard fully meant to kill towards her. She dodged it. She went for an lower cut and I quickly slid above the table and dodged it.
"Oh a game of mice and cat huh?" I didn't reply.
She dashed towards me and her blade straight towards me but was met with a table instead, the illusion magic worked. I quickly ran to the side while shooting a three minya crystals, two were shattered by her blade while one was dodged.
I launched my rope in a straight direction. It looked like an arrow instead. Elsa dodged it easily leading to getting stuck on the table which I had flipped. I pulled it with such great speed and she dodged the predictable move but she didn't expect what I did next. I spun the table and leading to her almost getting hit by it. When she jumped by finding an opportunity, I quickly smashed the table into her, Spiderman style.
It was quite hard but it's good I practised this move. She stood up ready again with blood stains on her, but the wounds were healing fast. Shit I wanted to make sure she gets a brain damage but guess it failed or she healed fast.
We both dueled a bit. Sounds of clashing metals, breaking and cutting wood continued for a bit.
I was able to land an punch towards but it led to cut on my forehead, even though the bleeding had stopped a bit of blood had reached towards my one left eye. The loot house was a mess, most of the things had became broken. Both stood in the middle of the mess.
I dashed towards her her but she dodged by a cm. Which led to me landing a quick punch with my left hand as my right had the 75 cm blade. She dodged it by jumping above me but I crashed into the counter. Elsa tried to cut my back but was met with two katana cross striking her. Elsa quickly went ahead which was behind me but when these blades clashed I quickly got ready for the next attack just as she landed on the ground. I was ready at her side ready to cut her, as her left side would be unable to handle much force she 180°d her right hand and slashed my blade with force.
I used my left hand and was able to land the second punch on her cheek which made her recoil. It was thanks to Kuro's katana stabbing her shoulder that I was able to land it. She moved a bit and.
"Plork!" A wooden shrapnels had stabbed her. She tried to move but the shrapnel didn't let her making her immobile for a bit.
Now was the time, "Shamak" i muttered and blocked all of her senses.
With Emilia and nobody but my enemy here, I can fully fight unleashed, a wicked smile came upon my face.
I quickly lunged back and all the ice and minya crystals above the entire room came down. The sound of crystals clashing with the wooden floor could be heard in the entire room. When the smoke cleared, I could only see an purple statue. Finally killed huh?
'Man what a great plan, First breaking all the stuff that can provide cover while using them as means to attack and defend, and us making the crystals above while having the ground spirits control the shrapnels!'
'yeah but it's not done yet.' I replied with a serious tone.

I quickly turned and kicked the person dashing towards me leading to her crashing in the wall making a loud noise. Ok so it takes 15 seconds huh?
I walked towards the crashing site to see the body. Her head had broken from impact of hitting the head so hard, blood had splashed a here and there a bit.
'Mia?' I asked. 'hm she's alive and also recovering quite fast.'
"Is that so?' I muttered and bent myself for a bit. And punched her face one more time. More blood splattered and some on my face.
I wiped it and unintentionally punched her one more time with more force.
What? I didn't even try to lift my arm, how did that happen?
"Anyway Phoenix make a rope and tie on her arms and legs. Bind her enough that she won't escape.
'Subaru, she's dead.' Mia's tensely said.
Shit! "How much time has passed?" I asked.
'around 5-6 seconds.' Aqua replied.
Ok, 8-9 seconds huh? I prepared for any attack and got full on guard.
A knife was thrown towards me which was blocked by Kuro's katana.
"Oh so you're not gonna do any surprise attacks?" I asked.
"I really want to have a duel, ya know? Along with that long sword Spirit" Elsa said as she appeared behind me, I still had my back towards her looking towards where her dead body was. It turned to ash?
"Fine." I said with a sigh. I had decided many ways to kill her.
AN: hello! How have yall been? Yes, I didn't forget this fic, so I would like to apologise for the very late chapter but many things happened so was busy like school exams especially 2 exams. Yeah and a third one is coming so preparing for that. I tried to write this as soon as possible but ya know even though writing fight scenes are hard, thinking of convincing Felt was more hard since I wanted it a more natural.
So when the next chapter will come? Well since I can officially say this fanfic is on hiatus till April, I will pump out as many chapters as possible and will try to cover arc 2 in that month.I really wanted to end this arc in November but slothfulness was stronger, so there's that i guess. Also I read my ch 1 and 2 when I was without Internet, and was surprised there were spelling errors, and there maybe grammatical errors since I haven't proof read yet.
This arc will end on ch 7 though even though I wanted to end it in 5 chapters but since this chapter was gonna be a big one but then it got split in 2 and now in 3. But since this story is decided so yes I will try to end it if possible. And i also have some ideas I would like to write so will try with this fic. And yeah I know i suck at summaries. Still I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading this weird fusion fic in which I added way too many ideas.
