Rays of setting sun could be seen through the windows as the battle between me and the assasin continued and Kuro had also fully joined the fight instead of a surprise factor.

'kuro.'

'hm?'

'We are straight going for killing her till she reaches her limit, there's no use capturing her. She'll just die herself if I injure her in a serious way. So she can regenerate fully and also to land a surprise attack.'

'Roger.'

'KLANG!'

Both went towards each other for another clash, my dagger's blade clashed with her left blade while Kuro's katana quickly stabbed her right palm and slicing it, leading to her right dagger falling on the ground. Using it as an opportunity Kuro quickly stabbed her in the head, leading to her third death.

Knowing she was gonna rise again, I quickly prepared myself for her another attack. And then came the attack right after 15 seconds, She appeared right behind me and an ice sword emerged from my back stabbing her abdomen.

'Hey Subaru, let Kuro fight her head-on, while you try to make her faint, how about this idea?' Jake suggested.

'Well, I thought about that idea but it won't work, its just a gut feeling, she'll suicide or may pull some surprise card.'

'Its better facing the surprise now than afterwards, lets try the idea and we'll be supporting too.' Mia added. 'Fine' was my reply.

Elsa came this time ahead on giving me chance to long range attack, I did so by firing a minya as well as ice crystals. She dodged some and broke them with her knives. Using the chance, Kuro attacked from behind. She responded quickly and tried to dodged them by ducking below but Kuro changed the direction of his blade to below. I also went ahead to attack her. She skillfully dodged one blade by ducking and throwing her blade just before that changing Kuro's Katana direction again.

I used that to fire an ice crystal making her shoulder and her left arm useless. Using this opportunity, I dashed forward to land an hit as she stood again. I tried to kick her nape. But she caught it easily, felling for my trap. Her arm fell off as Jake slicked her arm by wind magic.

"Ahh! Truly amazing, that's some fighting skill you got, I hadn't felt this for a while!" Elsa with a tint of blush said.

What a sadistic bitch. "Don't you feel any pain? I just sliced your one arm my making the other freeze."

"The feeling of warm blood and the long awaited pain is enough for me."

I seriously didn't understood what she said. I just sighed as she dashed towards me.

"How the hell are you gonna attack? Both yours arms are useless." I asked as I prepared myself for any surprises.

"I still have this frozen arm as well as my legs." Came the reply.

I sighed, "Very well then."

Her frozen arm broke as I kicked her head. Just as my leg touched her head I felt a bit of pain in my stomach, my eyes quickly went towards my abdomen to see her one heel stabbing my abdomen.

I quickly repositioned my leg and just as I was about to get another kick, her face split in two.

I had used my knife within my sleeve as a surprise attack knowing she was gonna do suicide anyway.

'Still with the strategy?' Kuro asked. 'Yeah and pheonix, try to hit her head by making an ice pillar if ya get the chance.'

'Sure.'

"Let's continue the dance, shall we?" Elsa reemerged back with her both arms while I didn't even tried looking at the ashed corpse.

I fired the crystal which got blocked like usual. Kuro attacked her at a great speed such that she was pushed a bit. While momentarily losing her balance. I dashed to land a behind hit, Elsa just quickly used her one blade to clash with mine and discourse it. As busy with Kuro's blades I quickly landed a kick on her leg and she momentarily losing her balance before regaining it in a quick succession.

She quickly withdrew herself to get some distance, as she moved I felt pain on my palm before realizing it was cut, it was great that it had started healing again but it would definitely take some time making it an interruption in the fight. Small wounds like cuts could be quickly healed in seconds but slashed would take some time if the injured is moving continuously making harder to concentrate mana at one place while also stitching back the torn skin again.

Well, I guess the plan of making her faint is in ocean now. I have to be more cautious now. My palm was nearly saved, if it was cut fully then I would have lost my fingers. The fact that she isn't getting tired and has an ability to regenerate her limbs is making it more harder. If I don't fight carefully then, its ultimately gonna be my lose. Even if I can heal my wounds, I won't be able to regenerate blood so, I have to avoid getting cuts as much as possible just that slash on the palm led to lot of blood loss.

Both dashed towards each other at great speed and our blades clashed with each other, well at least one mine and two katanas of Kuro. This time, I focused more on force of attack than speed of attack. Which resulted in her losing her balance. She quickly readjusted her footing to maintain balance and

'Splash!'

"Ahh what pain, truly fabulous?"

"Can you ever shut up?"

Large amounts of blood started falling on the ground. It was not mine but Elsa's. I had stabbed my gauntlet in her abdomen fully passing through her other side, then I quickly slided my left hand towards her left half tearing her into half. Because of it her upper body fell on the ground staining the floor with large amounts of blood. I looked at my hand, it had been a while since I saw this level of brutality. I had seen great amounts of brutality in SnK as well as goblin slayer but last time I saw was in Elior. For some reason, a sadistic grin which I hated came on my face for a second.

'Man! My sleeve got dirty will all this blood!' I said.

'Here we're in a middle of deadly fight and you are worried about your clothes?' Kuro said in a deadpanned tone.

'Yeah, yeah just joking. ' I said.

Well six deaths have occurred, I think she would be near her limit probably being seven. Lets kill her one more time and see it.

"WOW, I never expected you to go for my guts. Well, I am getting bored of fighting for a while and dying. It's time to get serious now. " Elsa emerged from behind and said.

I readied myself by taking a fighting stance.

"Klang" "Klang" Klang"

And then three sound of metal clashing with each other came in an instant. She was just playing around till now, she was definitely getting serious. The speed of her attack was astounding. I only had seen someone attack with such speed was Emilia and maybe Sword Saint could do that.

My arms were shaking after receiving that attack, if I hadn't been barely able to block her attack then I am sure my right arm would have got cut. The force and speed of attack was unbelievable. I was pushed behind a bit by that attack.

Thank god, I had received similar attack with such speed before. I started repairing my dagger as my blade had received a lot amount of damage it would definitely break after receiving another two attack.

"Wow I am amazed. You blocked that attack. I normally don't go this far but look what you made me do. Considering your arm is shaking. I bet you won't last longer." Just as she finished her sentence, she was already coming towards me with great speed. In just 3 seconds our blade clashed again with more force than ever.

Both clashed again and again. Blocking and attacking was done in such speed that only silhouettes could be seen. I was barely able to dodge most of her attacks. Sometimes deeper cuts were received. Kuro had started to fight with more intensity than usual.

Different types of magic were being used at the same time. Blade were being damaged in just some hits sometimes even shattering before I could mend it.

My breathing was becoming unstable. Many cuts had been received in just 5 mins. Eyes analysing every movement, Trying to find an opening to attack. Legs trying to maintain balance while also moving with great speed. Huge amount of mana as well as my body was being used.

She is right that I won't last like this. If I had to win then I have to use it.

'Pheonix and Isaac we are going to use it. ' I said in a serious tone.

'Are you kidding me?! We haven't tested it ones, it will be a huge loss as well as can be fatal to you. '

'I will die in this fight anyway. We are gonna use it, it's the only trump card I can think to use now. '

'No we are not gonna support you in this. ' Everyone said in unison.

'Roger.' I truly was the worst. Using my spirits to do things they don't want to by the terms of contract. The term saying that 'Spirit will follow the command of contractor under situations involving death of contractor.'

'ALL SPIRITS WHETHER CONTRACTED OR IN THE SURROUNDINGS, LEND ME YOUR POWER TO ATTAIN VICTORY!'

I fought like usual not expressing a hint of emotion that can show that I was preparing something. After 5 minutes of fighting, it was finally done, now the only thing which was left was to get some distance.

After some time, I was able to get some distance by landing a kick on her abdomen. Just as she was about to come near to attack. I blocked my hearing and held my hand in a Iron Man pose and chanted

"Inferno Sphere"

Just as those words left my mouth-

"ZAPPP!"

A ball of fire went at a very high speed towards her. It was so fast that only it's silhouette was seen for a second. It sound was so much that it broke all the glass objects in the loot house. Even though it flew at such high speed, in an attempt to dodge it but it hit her shoulder burning it and breaking the wall behind and when it hit the other wall which was the border wall of the capital, it made a huge crater which was similar to meteor impact sites. The crater made by it was reddish orange in colour.

"Ahh that was really unexpected, I didn't expected you to cast such -" Before she could even finish her sentence, she had crumbled into ash.

That was the power of Inferno Sphere. It would reach its target with such great speed and high temperature that it would destroy any obstacles in its way. Even if it touched a finger or hair, the target would still die either by melting or crumbling into ash. It's great that she didn't melt, otherwise that reaction may have occurred when a meat reacts with lava. Well even if she would then she would have to suffer great pain. So I think that's a win-win situation.

I looked at my hand which had fired the spell. My fingers turned grey and fell off, my entire hand was starting to become ash. Yes, this was the price of using such a high level spell without much practice. The user has to pay something. In my case the amount of high temperature during shooting the sphere especially with such high speed had led to this.

Phoenix, Mia and all my water and fire spirits tried to save my arm by freezing by lowering the temperature of my hand but I knew it was meaningless.

'Leave it. Its meaningless. I have to pay the price for it. We will get a prosthetic arm afterwards. ' I said.

'But-' Mia said as my shoulder all crumbled.

'Its okay' I said with a small smile. 'You all did your best and I am happy with it.

A ice was formed at the part where burning had stopped. To prevent any bleeding or any other problems which may arise due to burning.

'I guess the fight is over?' Kuro said as more than a minute had gone and Elsa hadn't came back.

I could only reply with maybe. We waited for two more minutes to see if she would come back and no nothing happened. I started going out of the house, to return to the inn. I guess, we finally won. Even if I had to sacrifice my arm, it was okay.

When I was at the doorstep, I turned back to see if she was there or not and no trace were seen. I couldn't say properly whether she was dead or not since I had turned her into ash this time. I asked the spirits to see whether she was alive or not.

"I definitely thought I was gonna die today you know. " That voice came back.

I quickly turned myself towards the house and no was there. I only chuckled. She is definitely dead and it just my mind playing with me. Yeah that's it. She's dead. No need to be scared. You're okay. Right friends?

'Subaru, Elsa is alive. ' Kuro said in a fearful tone.

"Huh?"

My eyes started scanning the house again and then in an instant, she appeared. I was very surprised. I formed my minya blade again. It was good that I still had my minya gauntlets.

"How the hell are you not dead?!" I asked with frustration.

"Maybe seeing your gut resurrected me?" She said in a playful tone.

'Subaru, I, Phoenix and Gaia will handle her. You should escape.'

'But-'

'This time you've to listen to us. You are in no condition to fight. Even if you did you will die in sometime. So listen to us and run. Its not like we're gonna die. ' Phoenix said.

What they were saying was true but it didn't felt right to run away.

'No time to think just run!' As that sentence ended Elsa was attacked from three directions. Ten icicles flew at great speed towards her. The ground became uneven and two Katanas attacked with great force that she was pushed back.

I ran and ran as fast as I could. My legs hurt like crazy. I still ran. The eerie Atmosphere was making me scared. There were no sounds of kids playing. Neither anyone could be seen. It would probably take half or even a full hour to reach the outskirts of slums.

I was scared. I really didn't know from what. Whether it was Elsa or for the spirits. Why was I even scared for them, they wouldn't die unless a magic spell is used and they are the strongest ones too. Kuro had the most experience as he had lived like 100 years or so. Gaia and Phoenix were some of the 6 strongest spirits of mine. So why was I scared. Or maybe this silence?

Due to silence, I could hear my breathing and even my heart beat. I was sweating. My heart was beating so fast that it would feel like it may overtake the steps I am making in a second. I really didn't know why any of my spirits had broken this silence yet.

The question of what was J scared had turned into why was I scared. I still couldn't stop, I had to survive no matter what. Kuro and others are still fighting and if I stopped then it would make it meaningless. Wait what would be meaningless? Don't tell me it is their de-

Before I could even complete the thought. I fell on the ground. It wasn't due I stumbled on a stone and fell and not even my leg was cut in the middle of running. Actually my heart stopped beating for 3 seconds and the fear that came was enough that it made my legs to stop functioning to stop running. And I fell on the ground.

But, why did my heart stopped suddenly. Water spirits were still helping me to maintain the blood flow even though it was still not helping fully. And then that the thought occurred. Tears started flowing out.

I had started pounding my head on the ground as a result blood had started flowing out. I didn't cared a bit.

"I finally found you. Your spirits were sure entertaining but I had a job to do I had to kill them quickly. " That voice which I hated came again.

I turned my back to see the murderer. Well then maybe I should kill you now to end your suffering. And just as I put my hand forward to cast a spell. My hand fell on the ground. It was so fast that I couldn't even see the person who had sliced it.

"Oh I was aiming for your head but your hand got in the way. "

'What a stupid thing to do',as the only thing I could muttered. Just after that huge light came from my cut hand and engulfed Elsa. It were my spirits, all 49 of them. Each one having a name which I remembered. They attacked all at ones.

This was one of my measures to ensure the safety of other if I died while fighting an opponent which was hard to defeat. The trigger being my pulse. As my hand had been cut, it triggered the condition required. The only reason I never used all of them at ones was due to lot of pressure tolled on my mind. It would make it more hard to order them.

And now Elsa was killed again and will be killed again. 'As long as the opponent is not dead, continue to attack but ensure that no innocent is injured. ' was one the condition.

After a while, I vomited on the ground, blood was on the ground. Blood had started coming out.

'When the hell did she poisoned you?! We were making sure that no poison entered the body'

My vision as well my hearing had started to fade. I couldn't even understand what Aqua said.

'His heart rate is slowing down!'

Well even if I die then maybe next time I can get Kuro back. Well that wouldn't be-

Natsuki Subaru died again, breaking all his promises to his spirits, the thief who was a royal candidate and even himself.

At the restaurant where Emilia and her maid Ram were there. They were peacefully eating their food while enjoying the sunset. Birds flew towards their home. Wind blew greatly leading to Elf's silver hair flowing gently.

" Isn't the wind really gentle today? Ram. " A silver bell chimed.

"Absolutely Emilia-sama." Her maid answered as she was alse enjoying it.

A quasi spirit appeared before Emilia. 'Hey aren't you Venus, a wind quasi spirit contracted by Subaru?'

'Yes, Emilia-san, an important message, for you. '

The maid could only see the Elf talking with the spirit as she couldn't understand the spirit language and could only communicate unless it's a full grown spirit like Kuro.
