Part of the 2019 Spring Cleaning Event.

So... another idea! So, if you remember a while back, I did a crossover with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Overwatch and I thought it went well. Now, as I've been doing things over the last year, I've had another idea, Star Wars again, but this time using an OC bounty hunter instead of a Jedi. Why? Well, in my opinion, it opens more dialogue and story elements that I could use should I choose to expand this into a longer series instead of just a pilot.

I should note that the opening portion of this pilot was inspired by the old Prey 2 teaser trailer. You know, the one that had the Johnny Cash song "Rusty Cage".

Rating: T - T+ for sci-fi/fantasy violence and language both English and otherwise.

Disclaimer: I own nothing except my copy of MS Word and my laptop. Star Wars belongs to Disney and Overwatch belongs to Blizzard. I only own my Bounty Hunter OC. See the foreword for the full disclaimer.

Watchpoint Gibraltar. 1900 hours.

Winston looked out into the large briefing room that had been built when Overwatch was at its largest where each watchpoint had been filled to the brim with operatives from all walks of life and from every nation. There were only around a dozen seats taken and they were spread out. "Thank you for coming," he greeted. "Today I have a briefing on a developing situation that needs looking into."

"Omnics?" Reinhardt asked.

"For once, no." The auditorium's screen lit up and showed an armored man if sexual dimorphism was anything to go by. "This complete unknown is known by many in the criminal underworld as the Bounty Hunter. He's been capturing or killing many events of the criminal underworld now for months for large amounts of money."

"How much are we talking about?" McCree asked.

"Each ranging from five to six figures each," Winston replied.

"And how many of these bounties has he redeemed?"

"Over the last six months? At least ten." Cree whistled. Low balling that was at least ten thousand dollars and a million on the upper end. "Athena, what do we know about him?"

"Nothing," the computer replied.

"What do you mean 'nothing'?" Angela asked. "Everyone has a history online, even if they're someone new."

"I meant water I said. There is nothing on a potential manufacturer of the armor and the weapons he uses are beyond my understanding other than they're energy based. The symbols on the armor do not show up anywhere, even online or in police databases."

"That can't be right! Can it?" Lena asked.

"It appears as though it is. Athena, what do we know for sure about him?" Winston asked.

"It seems as though he is fluent in multiple weapon types such some kind of dart launcher if his most recent hit has been anything to go by," Athena replied.

"Latest hit?"

The screen cleared and showed surveillance from Los Angeles if the stamp on the footage was correct. There was a man with a lot of tattoos, Russian ones commonly done in Russian prisons. "Say hello to Dimitri Kosolov. Local boss for the Russian mob in LA. The charges for kidnapping, murder, and human trafficking were dropped due to the local police mishandling the evidence leading the jury to rule that there was a possibility that it could have been compromised. Three hours before his release a total of eighty thousand dollars was withdrawn from the accounts of the families of his victims and disappeared. Watch what happens next." The mobster walks out of the courthouse and down the steps, the crowd around him taking pictures and shouting angry phrases at him. He was taunting the crowd as it was a high-profile case. Then he reaches up to his neck and slapped it as if he had been bitten by some insect. He then collapsed and seized for several seconds before becoming still. The police that was on scene rushed around the body and checked it for any signs of life.

"I'm confused, what just happened?" Hana Song, aka DVa, asked.

"This is the same scene but from an amateur photographer filming it," Athena replied.

The footage now shown was from a cell phone that showed the moment right before he collapsed. Athena slowed down the footage frame by frame so that the group could see a silver dart slowly making its way across the screen until it hit the mobster. The footage then sped up and showed the cameraman looking at the parking garage across the street. The gathered group could barely make out the shadowy figure that had their hand extended.

The screen then changed to what looked like the most intricate dart that they had ever seen. "The coroner's report stated that this dart that was extracted from the victim was loaded with a synthetic and highly potent poison that lodged itself into the Carotid artery which allowed the poison to be released right into his brain. He was dead within seconds."

The crowd was silent as they processed how cold that was. "You mentioned something about energy weapons?" Lena asked, breaking the awkward pause.

"Yes, they left specific charring and burn marks on buildings, vehicles, and dead bounties."

"What do you want to be done with this man?" their resident ninja Genji asked.

"To hopefully recruit him before Talon can get their hands on him. He shows a penchant for taking out criminals and rogue, hostile Omnics alike," Winston replied.

"And if he doesn't join us?"

There was an uncomfortable silence that was left in the air before Winston replied, "We'll cross that bridge when it comes."

"So how do we find him if he just appears and disappears without notice?" Angela asked.

The group was silent before McCree spoke up, "Why don't we post a bounty large enough not to go unnoticed by him?"

Everyone was pretty shocked at that answer, mostly because they didn't think of it first. "Well, how much would it be? And on whom?" Reinhardt asked.

"Why not someone high up in Talon? They've been a royal pain in our collective backsides for a little while now. Don't most international governments consider them a terror organization?"

"Most governments consider their acts terrible, however, they clean up after themselves so well that they've never been charged with a war crime," Pharah replied. "There have been several attempts to gather evidence on them but either the evidence or the investigators disappear before it can be cataloged. But most know them as a very shady, if not evil, organization."

"One of their main global offices is in Switzerland," Angela added.

The room was silent as they heard Angela say that. "Am I the only one slightly disturbed that we heard our resident medic and doctor agree with this plan?" Cree said.

Angela shrugged. "While under normal circumstances I would abhor unneeded violence, these thugs have shown no qualms with harming innocents and my friends to achieve whatever goals they have."

"So we are in agreement then?" Winston asked. No one raised their hand nor said anything to the contrary. "We will recruit the Bounty Hunter."

Minutes later. Somewhere else entirely…

A small, trashcan looking machine sat next to a computer screen, a probe connecting it to the computer. It spun in an endless cycle of what looked like a crook trying to solve a difficult combination as it spun clockwise, then counterclockwise, the clockwise once more in an indefinite cycle. The little machine then stopped on something that interested it. It disconnected its probe and wheeled itself over to his master.

"R6 job search = complete," it chirped happily in its binary language.

His master was performing maintenance on one of his pieces of equipment, his T-visored helmet sitting on the table nearby. "What is it?" he asked, his eyes still focused on the equipment and tools.

"R6 = found bounty. Bounty = 500000 units."

That caused the man to pause for a moment. "A half million credit bounty? What are the details?"

"Bounty = regional manager of Talon. Talon = terrorists by many. Location = Zurich. Status desired = dead."

He looked at the computer screen. "I see that."

"Ordo = take?" the droid asked.

He rubbed his chin in thought. "It's quite risky. Talon isn't one of those small-time organizations where you can hit them and disappear. These scumbags are paramilitary and have much larger resources."

"Talon = home pirates?"

Ordo couldn't help but see the parallel that his droid put forth. "They do seem to have much of the hardware that many pirate gangs, although a lot more funded, have in terms of comparability."

"Master Ordo = accept job?"

(It was roughly about this point I lost the notes I was working with and have no idea where to continue this.)

Ok, so this was supposed to be a story heavily inspired by the story "Darkest Knight" by Metal4k (id: 11988032). His story specifically was about a Hunter from Destiny getting stranded in the world of Overwatch and gets involved with the world's events; oftentimes at odds with the Overwatch team. Regardless, I think it's a story worth checking out.

As for this story idea? Where I'm currently at, I have no idea how to proceed. This was an idea that was spawned back in December of 2016 if the metadata stamping is correct. From the shorthand notes I still retain above, I know that it was supposed to be another bounty hunting story similar to the one that's posted right before this one, however, that one was started well before this one had been. It was supposed to happen in either the Imperial era or post-ROTJ era with a character named Ordo, named after the KOTR character Canderous Ordo of clan Ordo and his R6 unit who are stranded on Overwatch's Earth because of a drive malfunction. I know that for the opening of this pilot, he was supposed to hunt down a Talon bigwig and after that during payment collection, he was supposed to be recruited by the Overwatch crew. But besides those sort of generic plot points, I have no idea where I wanted to take it from there.

Unfortunately, this one is going to have to sit the way it is and maybe I'll come back around to it someday and possibly make a v2.0 or redo of this pilot since it is so bare bones.

But as for now, you guys know where to leave comments and thoughts about things. Let me know what you guys think? Think there's a way to make it work? As for now, it's early in the morning and I have a DnD game to get to soon. I also saw the new Godzilla movie last night and it was pretty good. If you can, I'd say go see it. See you all next time.
