Chapter 56
It was early morning on the Archangel the day after the battle at Berlin.
And even though the enormous space ship was pretty calm and peaceful at the moment with most of the crew still fast asleep in their rooms. Kira Yamato was presently wide awake, watching the somewhat dull metal ceiling with a far away expression on his face.
With all those terrible things he had witness the lunatic in the Destroy do yesterday.
It was not surprising more then a little difficult to just crawl into once bed and sleep calmly through the night. And it seriously did not help that he had been awake two times because of nightmares.
Especially the second nightmare had literally scared the crap out of him. Seeing as he had never once in the past two years liked dreaming or even thinking about his definitive battle with the Providence and Rau Le Creuset.
"Damn, it's times like these that I really miss Lacus" he sighed loudly. Before he slowly sat up on the bed, where he instantly reached up and used his left hand to dry away the few drops of sweat on his forehead.
After doing that, he just sat there for an unknown number of seconds. Trying to figure out what in the world, he was suppose to do with himself now. There was truth be told, a huge part of him that was more then just a little tempted, to lay back down on the bed, and try to go to sleep once more.
But he was quick to realize that with the many thoughts currently flying around through his tired head. It would be almost impossible for him to just lay there and sleep peacefully.
There was simply way to many things he was so utterly curious about at the moment. That staying in there, would without a doubt be a huge waste of time.
And knowing that, he slowly got up from the bed where he immediately stretched both of his arms up over his head, and let out a huge yawn. Which was actually loud enough to make Birdy leap away from it's position at the back of his chair and up on to the table next to it.
Where the green robot bird slowly tilted it's head a bit to the side. And looked over at him in a fashion, that made it seem a bit like it was actually wondering just what exactly he was doing up this early in the morning.
But of course knowing that the small toy wasn't intellect enough to be doing something like that. The Freedom pilot smiled slightly at the mechanical bird, while slowly reaching out towards it.
Making it so that Birdy could leap on to his hand. And continue upwards until it was sitting at it's usual spot on his right shoulder. Where the robot immediately let out a loud sound, which made it totally clear to Kira that his tiny companion was quite pleased to be going along with him on this small journey.
Yet seeing as Kira still needed to get in to some proper clothes, other then the black t-shirt and the grey box shorts he usual slept in. It only took a few short minutes. Before the slightly worn out Freedom pilot slowly reached up and gently removed his green colored comrade from his shoulder.
And after watching the small piece of toy a bit longer. Kira once more place the bird back down on the table. Where Birdy was quick to leap up onto a small picture frame that just happened to be standing only a couple of centimeters away from where Kira had put him.
And even though it was pretty obvious to most people who where to see Birdy that he wasn't overly heavy.
He still weight just enough to actually knock the photo over, which of course immediately resulted in that he let out a loud displeased sound, as he jumped away from the falling object and took a quick trip around the room, before he choose to land on the exact same spot on the chair where he had spend most of the night.
Letting out a short laugh at the bird's small accident. Kira reached out a pick up the frame, which contented a nice looking photograph of his beautiful pink haired wife, who was dressed in a light blue gown, and with her hair tied up with two ribbons in the same color. And last but definitely not least, she was wearing a different hairpin than her usual one. This one was more like three bright yellow orbs, that had been placed neatly beside each other, in a somewhat downward fashion. Which really served to draw once attention to her rarely used hair style.
And just seeing the deeply cheerful look she had in her blue eyes really reminded Kira about how long it had been since he had last been able to hold her protectively in his arms, and feel the silky like softness of her long pink hair either against his face or between his fingers. And the young man especially felt like it had been more than an eternity since he had last been able to enjoy the strawberry like taste, of her sweet lips.
"I really do hope that you are doing all right out there on the Eternal, Lacus" Kira whispered softly to the image of his pink haired goddess. Before he slowly brought his hand up, and slowly ran it down over the thin glass, which was used to cover up the actual picture inside the frame.
And after watching the happy smiling face of the woman he loved and cared about more than anything else in the world. Kira carefully place the picture back down on it's original spot on the desk.
Then he turned around and started making his way over to the small bathroom, that was located at the end of the room. Determined to at the very least wash some of the sleep out of his eyes, before he left the room. He seriously did not want to walk around the Archangel, looking like somebody who hadn't gotten one wink of sleep for days now.
And once in there the young man immediately turned on the faucet making a small amount of cold water splash softly down in to the sink. While he had the same time was looking at the image of himself in the mirror, where he of course could not help but notice how utterly red both of his eyes was. Which was a pretty obvious sign that he hadn't been sleeping all that well, through the night.
"Damn I seriously looks like some kind of creature that has returned to life not long ago" he growled unhappily to the image. Then used both hands to splash some of the nice cold liquid up into his face, which frankly did help slightly on the deep tiredness he was feeling right now.
But he wasn't nearly done, he continued throwing a few more handfuls of water into his face, and it was only after the third time that he finally turned the water off again, and picked up a small fluffy towel. Which he quickly used to dry away most of the water. And once that minor task was over and done with, he released his grip on the thick piece of cloth. and let it fall to the floor.
And now feeling slightly more refresh, even with his huge lack of sleep, Kira took one last look in the mirror, where he could instantly tell, that it was not nearly as easy to tell now, just how utterly exhaust, he truly was.
And somewhat pleased with that, he hurried turned off the light and left the bathroom again. Now heading for the small closet, which content what little clothes he and Lacus had here on the Archangel.
Once over there he immediately pull out a newly wash Orb uniform and throw it on the bed.
000000
It was about ten minutes later when Kira stepped out of the room and started walking slowly down the hall with Birdy sitting quietly on his left shoulder.
The brown haired teenager did however not get very far, before he spotted a certain person coming towards him from the other direction.
"Hey sis I did not expect you to be up this early in the morning" he said in a loud tone. Which did nothing to hide how surprise he was at seeing her wandering around the Archangel's halls when everybody else on the ship was still sleeping.
Looking at him for a second or two it was pretty easy for Cagalli to tell just how tired her brother was right now. But immediately realizing that what had happened in the German capital only a few short hours ago was most likely still bothering him.
The blond woman decided that it was probably best, that she did not mention just how drained and exhausted he looked right now.
"It's not like I didn't want to sleep Kira, I just feel kinda frustrated about pretty much everything. I can't even describe how worried I am about Athrun and Orb. Not to mention that I can't help but think about what it is the Chairman is trying to do. I'm seriously starting to hate that stupid bastard"
Having of course known for quite some time now, just how hard this whole thing with Athrun had been on his pregnant sister. The Freedom pilot took a small step forward where he softly placed a hand on her left shoulder, which he instantly gave a light squeeze.
He really did wish that he could tell her that Athrun was actually spying on Zaft over on the Minerva.
Yet he realized that if he did something like that, it would without a doubt, make Cagalli even more worried about, Athrun. Which was most definitely not something Kira wanted to do. In his eyes Cagalli had already more then enough reason, to be awake at this hour of the day. There seriously wasn't any need to add anything else that might result in her, sleeping even less than she did now.
Kira might not know a whole lot about being pregnant. But he highly doubted, that it would be good for the child or the mother, that she stayed awake through pretty much the entire night.
"I would be lying if I said that I wasn't worried about Athrun too, Cagalli. But even so, I'm certain that he would want you to get some sleep instead of walking around the Archangel worrying about him. You look totally worn out right now" he said even though he did of course realize, that he wasn't really one to talk about the matter of looking tired.
Not saying anything to that at first. The blond cranky girl narrowed both of her eyes in a slightly displeased fashion, as she considered telling Kira that he looked even worse than she did.
But realizing that it would probably be very a bad idea for her to start an argument with Kira now, when most of the crew was still sleeping in the rooms surrounding the two of them. So in the end she settled for glaring angrily at him for a few seconds.
And it was only once she was absolutely sure that Kira knew that she did not really appreciate his advise, about getting some sleep. That the more natural expression returned to her face.
So while still staring directly in to his slightly reddish eyes. Cagalli decided, that she really wanted to know his reason for being out here. "What about you Kira? Why exactly are you up so early? Normally you sleep till noon" she said curiously, while tilting her head a bit to the side.
Feeling highly uncertain about what to tell her Kira slowly reached up and scratch his hair in a thoughtful manner. He seriously did not want to burden her with the matter of him having nightmares about everything that had happened in Berlin, and his extremely brutal battle with Rau Le Creuset.
But surely not wanting to lie to her either Kira was quick to decide that it was best just to tell her half the truth. "To be honest with you Cagalli. I just have a lot on my mind I need to deal with before I can go back to sleep" the brown haired teenager explained. While watching the floor, like that was the most interesting thing in the entire world.
Still not moving her eyes away from him, Cagalli nodded slowly in understanding. "Let me guess, you are worried about Mu ain't you bro?" She asked in gentle tone. Then thought briefly about how close a bond, Kira and Mu had with one another through the last Bloody Valentine War. Those two imbeciles had pretty much been like brothers. And she knew that it had hurt Kira badly, when Mu had apparently been killed.
Letting out a deep sigh Kira slowly moved his gaze away from the floor and looked over at her, where he immediately nodded a single time. "Yeah I am worried about him. Dearka mentioned to me after we left Berlin, that he kept on insisting that his name was Neo Koanoke, or something like that. I just can't help but wonder what in the world happened to him, after the Strike was shot down" Kira said, while trying hard to make at least a little sense of the situation.
"Yeah tell me about it, Kira. I still can't get over how surprised I was when miss Murrue brought him on board. I really didn't think anybody could survive being hit by a positron beam as powerful as that" Cagalli said loudly.
Then looked up the directly up at the ceiling, thinking hard about what little had remain of the Strike gundam after the Dominion's finally attack.
She did however not get long to do that before Kira's voice brought her back out of her thoughts. "I'm also really worried about how miss Murrue is handling this, she was totally crushed, after what happened to Mu at Jachin Due. So it has to be quite a shock for her to see him again after all this time" Kira said quietly. Just as he slowly reached up and started playing with the ring Lacus had given him shortly before the battle at Jachin Due.
Seeing him do that and knowing how much he missed the pink haired woman right now. Cagalli took a single step towards him, and gently wrapped both of her arms around her brother, hugging him softly.
"I know this is bothering you much more than you let on, Kira. But seeing as we still have no idea, about what's going on with Mu, there isn't really a whole lot we can do about it, other than support miss Murrue as much as possible" Cagalli told him in a deep serious tone. Then slowly backed away from him, with a large determined smile on her face.
Not really needing a whole lot of time to go over everything his sister had just said. The teen found himself nodding shortly in agreement. "Yeah you are probably right about that Cagalli. Once the two of us is done talking I'll head down to the sick-bay and take a look. I'm almost completely certain that miss Murrue is already down there" Kira said, generally concerned about the Archangel Captain.
"You do that, then I'll go down to the mess hall to get her some food. Truth be told, I'm hungry" the blonde said. Not noticing the small grin that quickly ran over Kira's face.
Kira wasn't really overly surprised to hear, that Cagalli was hungry right now.
Ever since she had figured out that she was pregnant, her appetite had increase immensely. And if Kira had to guess, he would say that she was probably eating twice as much, as she usually did.
Not that Kira was dumb enough to actually mention that to her. He felt relatively certain that if he said anything Cagalli could interpreted as having something to do with her gaining weight in anyway, she would most likely break a couple of his ribs, or perhaps do something even more painful than that.
Yet no matter what she was going to do. Kira definitely wasn't in the mood to try and experience what kind of punishment his sister would give him, for pissing her off at the current moment in time.
Which was the main reason why he kept his comments about her overly big appetite to himself. And simply asked her for a small favour instead. "Once you are finish down there Cagalli do you mind grabbing a bottle of water for me? I'm actually more than a little thirsty right now" he explained, then thought briefly about the reason why his throat felt so incredible dry at the moment.
With the two highly unpleasant nightmares he had experienced not long ago, it wasn't really much of a surprise that he had been sweating a great deal. And was in the need of getting some liquid in to his body.
Not having the least bit trouble, getting some water for him too. Now that she was heading down to the mess hall anyway. Cagalli smiled slightly at her brother as she slowly nodded yes a single time, to his small request.
"All right Kira, you just look after miss Murrue, and that blond reckless moron. Then I'll make sure to get you some water" the blond woman promised loudly. Just as she turned around and one foot and continued onward down the Archangel's empty hall.
Of course already knowing who his sister was referring to, with her reckless moron comment. Kira couldn't help but let out a light chuckle. "Hmm even though she hasn't seen him for two whole years, she is already more then ready to start arguing with him" the brown haired teenager said, then slowly shook his head at his sister highly childish behaviour.
And while still smiling about that the Freedom pilot walked off in the opposite direction than Cagalli. Now seriously wondering how his wife would react, once he told her that Mu was still alive after all this time.
One thing Kira was pretty certain of, was that Lacus would be just as happy about seeing the blond haired man again, as he was. Mu had after all been like a big brother to her too, and he knew that it had sadden her deeply when Mu had apparently lost his life at Jachin Due. So Kira was really looking forward to share these news with her, the next time he got an opportunity to talk with his wife.
She would without a doubt be extremely delighted to hear. That one of the people which they had all believed killed. Was actually still very much alive, and was once more a part of their large somewhat bizarre family, which was pretty much made up by the entire Archangel crew and a huge part of the Eternal's crew. Plus a few of the people still back in Orb, like Erica Simmons and Ledonir Kisaka.
Yet while the young man was trying to figure out when he would get the chance to break these joyful news to Lacus, about Mu's survival. He arrived at his destination where he stood quietly the next couple of minutes, trying to decide if he should knock first, or just enter the room.
But in the end the teenager came to the conclusion, that it was best to just enter the room without making any kind of noise first. If the Hawk of Endymion was still fast asleep in there, it was without question best to just let him sleep until he woke up on his own.
And with that in mind Kira slowly reached out and pressed the button that was meant to get the metal door open. And even though there was no light on in the room, Kira could still easily see the two people who was in there.
Mu was still sleeping calmly in the bed, which he had been place in shortly after he was brought on board the Archangel. And Murrue was sitting quietly by herself on the opposite bed hugging her knees tightly.
Unfortunately there was simply no way the boy could tell from his position over by the door if the brown haired woman was actually awake right now.
So after giving his lower lips a light bite, he slowly enter the almost completely dark chamber. And started carefully making his way over to the bed, which his big brother figure was sleeping peacefully in. And once he got over beside the bed, he didn't really do anything, other then studying the blond man's face for a few seconds.
The only real difference compared to the last time Kira had seen Mu, was the small yet nasty scar he had on his face, and that his hair was that much longer now.
"Hmm he hasn't changed much these past two years" the tired pilot of the Freedom mumbled softly. Then turned and took two steps, in the direction of the other bed in there. Where he looked at Murrue's face for a short moment or two.
Yet with both of her eyes closed it was impossible for Kira to tell if the woman was sleeping or awake right now. Yet once he leaned in a bit closer it became obvious to the boy that each of her cheeks was moist, which was a clear sign that she had been crying not long ago.
And seeing as Murrue Ramius truly was one of the most important people in his life. There was simply no way Kira could ever suppress those feelings, which wanted so much to help out the caring woman, that had done so unbelievable many things for Lacus and him.
So with his exhaust mind still working hard on going over all the sweet and kind things miss Murrue had done for both him and his wife. Kira slowly moved his purple determined gazes around the room for anything he could use to make sure that the woman got at least a bit more comfortable. It was pretty easy to tell that the weird position she was currently sitting in, would most likely make her back hurt quite a bit, once she was ready to leave the bed.
Yet it was only once his eyes just happened to land on the thick white cover, which had been folded neatly at the foot of the bed. That the male Yamato finally got an idea about something he could do for the kind woman.
And with that in mind. He slowly reached out and picked up the cover which he carefully place around Murrue, in a small effort to make certain that she would not be cold, while waiting for Mu to regain consciousness.
And when he had made completely sure that the cover would not accidentally fall of again, by a sudden movement on her part.
He dropped down on the bed next to her. Where he immediately turned his attention back over at Mu. Now looking at the blond man with an expression on his face, that would have made it quite obvious to everybody who saw him, that he was wondering when exactly the Hawk of Endymion would wake up.
Yet as much as all of this was occupying his thoughts at the moment. He did however not get a whole lot of time to think about it. Before a quiet voice, brought him back to reality.
"I'm really glad that you are here, Kira. It's been kinda lonely waiting for him wake up for such a long time" Murrue said almost in a whisper. While she slowly opened her sad eyes and looked directly at the teenager.
Hearing her say that. Kira slowly moved his gaze away from the sleeping man and back towards the Archangel's Captain, who he instantly gave him a small smile.
"Have you been here the whole night, miss Murrue?" He asked also talking in a low voice, and with a worried look in each of his eyes.
Having know Kira Yamato for such a long time now as she had, Murrue could of course easily recognize the look he now had in his eyes. And truly grateful to know that the teenager was worried about her well being, Murrue smiled slightly back at him.
"Well after the doctor was done treating him. I was actually planing on sleeping down here so I could keep an eye on him. Yet no matter how hard I tried Kira, it was just impossible for me to forget the images of the Strike being destroyed by the Dominion" Murrue sobbed loudly. Just before a couple tears left her eyes, and slowly made their way down her face.
Seeing that Kira somewhat hesitantly brought his arm around the Archangel Captain, hugging her gently as she cried softly up against his left shoulder.
"I have also missed him a great deal miss Murrue. I almost thought that I was hallucinating, when I sensed him the first time during the battle at Dardanelles. It was only when, I sense him again while fighting at Crete that I was almost entirely certain that it was really him" Kira said, while rubbing Murrue's shoulder in a comforting manner.
Taking a small glance up at him through the tears, Murrue of course knew that she had not the only one Mu's 'death' had been hard on two years age.
It had not really been a well kept secret around the Archangel. That both Kira and Lacus had cared deeply about the blond man, and had seen him somewhat like an older reliable brother, they could always count on to help them out.
And even though neither one of them had know about it back then. Murrue had heard the two teenagers a few times shortly after the last war, talking about Mu and how much they missed him.
So it was without a doubt just as huge a shock for Kira to see Mu alive as it was for her. The whole matter was just so unbelievable confusing, that there was actually a small part of Murrue, that kinda thought that finding Mu alive after all of this time, was just some sort of wishful dream.
Yet with the many times she had pinch herself since leaving the German capital, she was absolutely certain, that she was wide awake. And that the man she loved, truly was sleeping in the other bed in there.
"I just wish I knew Kira where he has been all of this time. I spend the last two years mourning his death and then he was alive this entire time" Murrue said, while yet another deep sub went through her body.
Not saying anything to that at first, Kira turned and again looked back at Mu.
"I really don't think that's his fault miss Murrue. From what Dearka told us I kinda doubt that he remembers any of us. So either he got amnesia from when the Strike blow up, or the Earth Forces has actually brainwashed him" the teen said, while tighten his grip around Murrue a tiny bit more.
He seriously did not like the idea, that somebody was willing to go so far as to mess with another person's memories like that. And it quite frankly made him feel a bit ashamed that he had actually fought for the Earth Forces, during the last war.
Not really sure what to say to that, Murrue thought hard about everything Kira had just said to her.
If Mu truly had forgotten everything about them. He was definitely not the one to blame for not returning to them before now. "I just missed him so much Kira. You know when you gave me his ring. I instantly knew I would have said yes to him without even needing a second to think about it" the woman explained, while still crying softly in to his shoulder and trickling around with the engagement ring hanging around her neck.
Of course already having the knowledge about, what the Murrue's response to Mu's proposal had been.
The brown haired teen did not say anything to her at first. He just kept on gently stroking her back, while letting her cry out her sorrow against his shoulder.
And it was only once he was absolutely certain that she had no more tears left to cry, that he began softly speaking to her again. "I know that miss Murrue, trust me I know" the young pilot of the Freedom said reassuringly, while trying his best to calm her down from all of this.
Yet after sitting in that position a few minutes longer. Kira could of course not help but notice, the minor change in miss Murrue's breathing. It sounded much more relaxed and calm now, which was a pretty obvious sign that she had fallen asleep up against him.
And deeply relieved to know, that the woman was finally getting some much needed rest, after staying awake through such a huge part of the night. Kira slowly turned his attention back towards the third person currently in the room.
"I seriously do hope we can find someway to restore your memories, Mu" the brown haired boy told the sleeping man. Just as his eyes fell shut and he drifted off in to dreamland too.
Yet as Murrue and Kira was getting the best known cure against exhaustion. Neither one of them noticed that, the man they where each so concerned about had both of his eyes open. And that he was currently looking up at the ceiling, with a thoughtful expression covering his face.
"I wonder how long these people are going to keep on calling me Mu" Neo mumbled to himself. Before he slowly turned his head and looked over at the two people in the room.
But just as his eyes landed on them, he instantly felt two sharp flash flying almost painfully through his mind, where he saw both of them smiling kindly at him.
"So...it's them I have been seeing...all of this time!" He growled out, while lifting both of his hands to rub his now highly aching head.
Yet even as he was trying so hard to lessen the deep pain he was feeling right now. He saw even more images of the two very people sleeping calmly at the opposite side of the small chamber.
"How...how do I know you guys...?" He asked in a whisper, while taking another glance over at them. But with both the gorgeous woman and the teenager sleeping soundly now, there was simply no response from either one of them.
Which left the task of figuring who these people where, and why he had those feelings that kept on telling him that these two where especially important to him. "I just don't understand why you seem so familiar to me" he growled out.
Then laid his head back down on the soft cushion, and once more continued watching the bright colored ceiling. Seriously wishing that he could somehow get his hands on some aspirins to help against the highly bothersome pain. That had apparently decided to go on permanent vacation inside his extremely sore head.
But seeing as he was tied to the bed. It was practically impossible for him to get anything which could at least lessen the pain just a bit. So unless he actually woke up his two sleeping visitors and asked them for a couple of painkillers. He just had to live with this damn headache for now.
"Maybe I should pretend to snore that would probably wake them up" the blond man mumbled to himself.
Even though he realized that there was noway he was actually going to do something like that. For some reason he couldn't help but feel like these two people deserved as much rest as they could possibly get.
And with that in mind. He took one more glance in their direction where he instantly saw an image of himself and the kid inside, what looked very much like a jewelry store of some kind.
Yet before he could even try and figure out what exactly was going on.
The image began slowly fading away. Only to be replaced by the next one, where he saw himself slowly waking up in a bed somewhere with the pretty brown haired woman laying beside him, looking straight in to his eyes, with a small yet loving smile on her face.
"Why...why do I keep seeing you people? It doesn't make any sense. I don't even know your names" he explained to them.
While he slowly turned over and looked directly at the wall. Trying not to think about how two of the people that had been hunting his mind for weeks now, was only sitting a few minor steps away from him.
000000
Meanwhile elsewhere on the Archangel.
A certain blond haired young Coordinator was slowly waking up after a long good night's of sleep. Unlike the Archangel's Captain and his fellow pilot Dearka Elsman had actually slept quite well through night.
Actually the only time he had been somewhat conscious for the last seven hours was when his girlfriend Miriallia, had roll over on top of him.
Which was at that current moment in time was not something he would ever complain about. But seeing as the highly gorgeous brunette, had remained in that position for a quite a while now, there was noway he could deny that his right arm was starting to feel more then just a little sore with it being pined down beneath her for such a long time.
And he knew from past experience that getting his arm out from underneath her could prove to be quite a challenge. Miriallia did after all give the word snuggle a whole new meaning. And she seriously disliked the idea of getting up or being woken up unnecessarily.
Which was something Dearka Elsman had been taught the hard way, shortly after the two of them had started dating each other.
One of the very first nights they had lived together with everybody else in their home back in Orb. The blond teen had been watching the newest episode of an anime show, yet when one of his favorite characters had gotten killed, it resulted in a few unhappy curses on his part.
And as luck would have it those few highly displeased words had been more then enough to disturb his sound asleep girlfriend.
And once she had heard what he had been complaining about she had instantly told him to go watch cartoons somewhere else. Not that he could really blame the girl for that. He too would probably have been more then a little cranky, if she had woken him up over some of the things she liked to watch on TV.
It was no big secret that Miriallia enjoyed watching a good romantic movie or two, which was not really something that he cared all that much about.
Fortunately she did also liked a good science fiction movie, with a great well made plot and with a lot of special effect. And seeing as he too really liked those kind of films, they would usually see something like that whenever the two of them went to the movie theater.
There truly was a great many thing which seriously made Dearka love the brunette with all of his being. And one of the minor things was that she had never once tried to force him in to go see some kind of movie, which he honestly had no interest in seeing.
Usually whenever there was a really chick flick running down in the movie theater.
His brown haired girlfriend would normally ask the Pink Princess and miss Murrue to go see it with her. While he on the other hand preferred to have Kira and Athrun as company when there at rare times, was one of those totally brainless movies as Miriallia described them. That the three male friends just had to see on that kind of big screen, which only the movie theater or a millionaire processed.
Yet as he laid there wondering just how many great movies he had missed. Since they had left Orb so many weeks age. Miriallia suddenly change her position on top of him and snuggled even closer towards him, making it so there was noway he could ever free his arm without waking her of in the process.
And feeling the soreness in his arm increase quite a bit. Because of the pressure most of her body weight was currently putting on it.
"Mm Miriallia I seriously do love you, but having you using me like a mattress and a pillow at the same time is starting to get a little uncomfortable" the blond pilot mumbled softly. Then tried to move the hand trapped underneath her around just a bit. But with it being stuck thoroughly between her, and the blue otherwise comfortable mattress pretty much the only thing he actually succeeded in moving was his little finger, which didn't really help much on the soreness.
"Well looks like my only choice is to try and move her" the Murasame pilot said in a quiet tone. Just as he brought his free hand up to her shoulder, and cautiously started moving her away from his trapped arm.
Unfortunately he didn't really have much luck with that highly dangerous task. Before she let out a small displeased moan and immediately moved back on to her long time resting place, directly on top his still pined down arm. "Heh! That didn't really work like I had intended, it would without a doubt be easier to learn the tablecloth trick then moving a sleeping Miriallia" he mumbled.
Then stayed totally quiet the next couple of second, as he tried to figure out what exactly his next move was going to be.
Yet before the young man could really give it all that much thought. Miriallia did something which actually took him a bit by surprise. She took a deep long breath that frankly made it seem quite a bit like, she actually was trying to memorize the scent of him for as long as possible.
After that the brunette slowly roll backwards away from him. So she ended up sleeping calmly on the other side of the bed with her back towards him.
"Hmm it really is amazing that even after all of this time. She can still make my heart beat as hard as the first time, I realized that I was in-love with her" the young man mumbled quietly.
But even as he continued staring directly at the beautiful woman now sleeping not that far beside him. He slowly reached over and started massaging his highly aching right arm. Yet while he was so occupied with trying to get some blond circulation back in to the highly sore body part, and with Miriallia facing the other way.
There was noway for him to know, that she was actually awake right now and smiling brightly at what he had said last. Miriallia was definitely not the type of girl who liked to be overly smitten with affection.
But hearing her love say such sweet words about the feelings he had for her. Truly served to remind Miriallia why exactly she had fallen for the former Zaft pilot in the first place.
It wasn't really difficult to figure out that Dearka wasn't really the most overly romantic person in existence. But when he said something like that unintentionally or not it always made her heart pound and made her feel so unbelievable special. Like that one time during the last war where he had told her that he would always be there for her. Back then she hadn't know how to react to those words.
After Tolle had been kill. There had been a small part of her which had firmly believed that it was now her destiny to live the rest of her life on her own. Yet now as she was laying there next to the blond haired Coordinator.
She could not even begin to describe how happy she was, that Dearka had been so utterly determined to knock down the small yet strong wall she had place around her heart, almost instantly after Tolle's Sky Grasper had been destroyed by the Aegis.
It might only happen rarely now. But there was times when the young woman still missed, her first boyfriend. But she had realized a very long time ago that she meant the world to Dearka Elsman. And she knew deep in her heart that she felt exactly the same way about him. There was truly noway that she could ever imagine her life without him anymore.
And as she laid there quietly thinking and smiling about how lucky she was to have a person like Dearka in her life. The brunette slowly turned her head a bit to the side and took a glance back at him, where she noticed that he was still rubbing his sore limb. And just the sight of the somewhat displeased look which he had in both of his eyes, was more then enough to make Miriallia giggle slightly.
Which instantly made Dearka turn his attention away from his arm and down at her. Where the small smirk, which she was trying so hard to hide was all he needed to tell, that she found the one tiny problem she had given him more then a little hilarious.
"Ohh so you think this is funny huh?!" The man asked loudly, while glaring unhappily at her.
Hearing that question. Miriallia just couldn't keep her deep amusement under control any longer. "Well duh! Of course I think it's funny, your face just looks so foolish when you are glaring at me like that!" The laughing girl informed him loudly.
Not saying anything to that at first. Dearka just sat there quietly watching the girl, still with that slightly displeased expression. "I'm greatly pleased that you are having such a good time Miriallia, on my behalf. But you do realized that I'm forced to take revenge now" he explained to her in a somewhat wicked tone.
And before Miriallia could even try to figure out what he was going to do now, he hurried reached down and started tickling her sides and her flat stomach. Which of course immediately made her laugh that much louder.
"Ahhh stop that you big idiot!" She screamed, while trying desperately to get away from Dearka's tickling hands.
Yet unfortunately for her. Dearka wasn't about to let her escape that easily. In his eyes the cute girl, hadn't been punished nearly enough yet. And so to make certain that it would be more then just a little difficult for her to get out of the bed. He swiftly moved his right hand away from her side, and up on to her cute stomach, where he immediately found that little spot just a few centimeters above her navel, where he knew she was extra sensitive.
Feeling his fingers touch that one spot. Miriallia instantly let out a loud shriek as she once more tried to get away from his highly torturers attack on her. "No not there Dearka!" She begged loudly, while struggling wildly underneath his teasing fingers.
Seeing her do that. The smirk on his face grew slightly in size, as he continued mercilessly running his fingers over the soft skin, near her cute little belly button.
"I'll never let you get away Miriallia Haw. Not until I'm sure, that you really are sorry for teasing me in the first place" Dearka smirked down at her. While he watched the girl he loved squirming around on the bed, over his somewhat mean torture.
Hearing him say that. Miriallia did try to glare up at him, but that was simply impossible with the way he kept on tickling her, which meant that the only option she had right now was to once more yell out for him to stop with the minor torture session.
"Not until you say that you are sorry" Dearka told her loudly. Just as he began moving his fingers that much fast over the beautiful white skin, beneath the light silky green pyjamas, which she had slept in. Trying his best to make it that much hard for her to apologize to him.
And it was only when she reached up and grab on to her pillow, which she without hesitation slammed directly up in to his stupid smirking face. "With you tickling me like that fool, I'm seriously starting to think, that it's you who owe me an apology, and not the other way around" the young brunette said.
While trying hard regain her breath, after everything the big goofball had just put her through.
Thinking briefly about those words. Dearka slowly reached up and rubbed his chin in a somewhat thoughtful way. "All right! I am deeply, deeply sorry for tickling you my love. I swear that I will never do it again" he said in a goofy tone, that made it completely obvious that he was lying through his teeth right now.
Looking at him for a short moment or two, before she slowly rolled her eyes a single time, at his last comment. "Yeah right! And Haro will suddenly stop being so noisy, and Mayu will never again pull another prank" Miriallia said in a tone, that made it pretty clear that she did not believe that any of that was going to happen even for a second.
Hearing those words and seeing the skeptical look she was now giving him. Dearka instantly got a somewhat sadden expression on his face. "I'm deeply hurt that you don't have more faith in me then that, Miriallia! Don't you trust your own boyfriend?" The former Zaft pilot asked. Sounding very much like he was just about ready to start crying at any moment now.
Once more rolling her eyes at his childish behavior. "No offense Dearka, but I kinda doubt that there is anybody on the entire Archangel that would trust you, when you sound like an overly goofy cartoon character" the girl said loudly. Just before she laid her head back down on the bed.
Of course not overly taken back by what Miriallia had just told him. But still far from done fooling around just yet. The blond Murasame pilot instantly threw his head sideways in a somewhat offend manner. "What! I really thought that I would get a whole bunch of new friends when talking like this" the Coordinator said sadly.
Then remained silent the next couple of seconds, where he was obviously considering what he was going to do next. And it was only when the brunette was begin to think that he was done that he opened his mouth and started talking again.
"Maybe if I use this voice inssstttteeead people will give me the respect I so rightfully deserve" the teen said loudly. Now sound quite a bit like some evil super villain that was just about ready to try and conqueror the world.
Letting out a light giggle at that. Miriallia reached out and gently grasped on to his hand. "I do hate to disappoint you, Dearka. But I seriously doubt that changing your voice, is something that is going to win you a whole lot of respect" the girl said, while giving his hand a light squeeze.
Feeling that Dearka had one last thing to say before he laid down on the bed beside her. "Ahh damn that sucks" he mumbled displeased, while moving his hand around a bit in her tight grip.
They did however not twirling around with each other's fingers for long.
When Miriallia's voice brought the small moment of silence to an end. "We better get up, I'm a bit curious about what's going on around the ship. Especially the whole matter with Mu has me concerned" the girl said quietly.
Miriallia Haw might not have been as close to Mu La Flaga as Murrue, the married couple, and even her own boyfriend. But even so, she could not deny that she had always had a great deal of respect, for the blond highly reckless manm especially when she thought back to everything he had done to protect all of them, through the last war.
And with that in mind, the young woman slowly moved over to the edge of the bed. Where she was quick to locate the pair of expensive looking black slippers which Mr Waltfeld had given her last year at her birthday. And after getting both of her bare feet in them.
She once more turned her attention back towards her boyfriend, who was not surprisingly still laying spread out on the bed, in a somewhat lazy manner. "If you don't get moving soon. I might just have to go get a bucket of snow to pour on you. I'm pretty certain, that would make you leave that bed in a big hurry" the brown haired girl informed him, with a small yet highly wicked smile on her face.
Looking a bit at her. The young man was somewhat unsure if she was actually serious about that. "You do know that you look really, really sexy and gorgeous in that pyjamas, Miriallia. I highly doubt there is another woman in the world, that would even come close to be as pretty as you" he told her in a sweet tone, while giving her the most charming smile he could muster.
Hearing those words, Miriallia just couldn't help but blush slightly from getting such a big compliment from him. But even so the girl could of course quite easily figure out why Dearka was suddenly being Mr charming. It was just some last attempt to convince her to let him sleep a bit longer.
So after using the next couple of seconds, to get rid of the small blush, on each of her cheeks. The brunette again moved her gaze back at her boyfriend.
"That really is sweet of you to say Dearka. But you have to do better than that before I'm going to let you sleep in today. Maybe if you go out an buy my a present, I'll change my mind" the girl said throughful tone, just as folded both of her arms just beneath her chest, and smiled wickedly at him.
With them hiding out pretty much in the middle of nowhere, Miriallia of course knew that it was simply impossible for Dearka to get her a gift of any kind, out here.
Giving her a highly skeptical look. The Murasame pilot reluctantly realized that he was fighting a losing battle. Just one single glance at her face was more than enough for him to tell, that she was completely and utterly determined to get him out of their extremely comfortable bed, no matter what.
"All right I'll get up, but this count as your Christmas present" Dearka said. Doing his best to sound as serious as possible about that. Even though they both realized, that it was unlikely that he wasn't going to shower her with gifts when that time came.
It was a pretty well known fact between all of them in their little family, that Dearka Elsman was far from cheap, when he was out buying presents to the people who was important to him. So Miriallia felt pretty certain, that his last comment about not giving her some kind of Christmas present, was nothing more than a way for him to tease, and get back at her.
"Ok, if that's the case, Dearka, then you will not have sex with me for the next three month" Miriallia promised with a slightly wicked grin on her lips.
Hearing those highly unpleasant words, Dearka's eyes widen quite a bit as he unhappily realized that with her last blow he had instantly lost their small teasing match.
Yet even as he hurried leaped out of the bed, the former Buster pilot could not help but think about how utterly unfair it was, that women could always threaten with something as overly mean as that, when they wanted to win a fight.
"You make an appealing point there, miss Miriallia Haw. I'll make certain to give you an extra big Christmas present this year!", The blond man promised loudly.
Smiling slightly at that, Miriallia slowly moved over and place a light kiss, on his right cheek. "I'll look forward to that" she whispered softly to him. Then turned around and started searching the cabin for a fresh uniform.
Not saying anything to that, Dearka just stood there quietly watching her for a short moment or two. Honestly wondering why the world was made in such a cruel way, that women could use sex against him and all other guys, while it didn't work the other way around. It just seemed so unfair.
Yet in the end the blond Coordinator came to the realization, that it was pretty much pointless to try and find meaning in something so overly complicated.
And with that in mind. He let out a light discontented sigh as he too began searching around for some clothes to get into.
To be continued.
Just if you didn't get it, the picture Kira was looking at of Lacus near the start of this chapter, she was dressed in that blue outfit she had on in episode 36 'In the name of Justice' where Athrun and Dacosta saved her from those guys wanting to kill.
I always liked her in that outfit, she looks really cute in it. It's a shame that we don't see her dressed like that more in the series. What do you guys think about her, in that blue dress?
