Somewhere along the way they landed on the couch, Arizona laying almost completely on top of Callie, but their lips never lost contact as hands continued to linger and travel the lengths of both their bodies.
"Callie..."
The front door to the apartment opened wider. "Arizona!" Tim made his entrance. "You have to start closing the door all the way, I could have been anyone." He continued making his way into the kitchen they'd just left, not yet noticing the company she had.
At the voice of the intruder, the two bodies moved away quickly trying to look as normal as they could in their frazzled state from what could potentially have turned into a lot more that just a make-out session.
"What are you doing home?" Arizona's voice held exaggerated interest for his return.
"Well I am living here for now, and the truck I was working on finished faster than I thought it would." He replied rummaging through cabinets. "Do we still have doritos?" He still hadn't looked in their direction.
"They're to your right, but um..."
Tim finally looked back after she didn't continue. Walking into the living room where they sat, he finally saw Callie.
"Oh hi, I didn't see you there..." he looked down at his dorito covered hands trying to clean them enough to give a hand shake.
"Tim this is Callie. My brother Tim."
"I've heard a lot about you, don't worry with shaking hands." Callie said laughing at him.
"Oh yeah, you're who my sister talks about. I see why she likes you, you're hot." A smile that charmed shined in Callie's direction.
"Timothy Robbins! No!" she gave him a pointed finger in command as how she would to Pop.
"What? I'm just saying." he pleaded innocence.
"Nope. You opening your mouth is usually problem number one." Arizona got up from her seat and began shooing him in the direction of his bedroom.
"Wait! I have to...!"
"Do it later." she said slamming the door to the room she forced him into.
Callie laughs amusedly at the brother and sister.
"Sorry about that."
"It's fine." They both going back and fourth in their heads deciding whether to try to continue where they left off or not.
"He sure does have great timing." Arizona joked. She could still taste the now estranged lips on her's.
"I like kissing you." Callie whispered, inches from pink lips.
"I like kissing you too." It came in the same whispered tone.
"Tim...!" The voice of a second intruder whose eyes stopped short upon the meeting of an occupied living room with equally occupied people, who only seemed to have enough focus for one another.
Arizona was straddling Callie's lap, the burnette's hands travelling up the blonde's shirt, gently gliding across soft, pale skin.
"On the couch?!" Teddy yelled at the intertwined bodies successfully catching their attention and pulling them apart.
"Of course." Arizona muttered. "What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" she motioned towards their position in the living room. "I thought you were trying to swallow her."
"Well, seeing this is my apartment, which I apparently should learn to lock so that people don't come barging in."
" I actually came to wait for you to get home and see how your night out went." Meeting dark brown orbs, she asked, "Callie. Am I right?" Looking her up and down.
"That's me." she said with a timid look trying to readjust her hair so it looked just a little less tousled.
"Mhm." Teddy didn't look impressed, she played the role of the protective best friend well.
"This is not how I wanted tonight to go." Arizona face palmed.
"It's okay, I'll get going. Text you when I get home." She honestly was getting tired, her blood sugar finally catching up to her. She placed one more kiss on the lips.
"I'll walk you to the door."
Menacing eyes watched the latina walk out, it was kind of scary.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" when she got back to the living room Teddy was giving her a ... look.
"You were going there, with Tim in the next room?!" she asked with wondering amusement.
"I don't know what you're talking about, or what ''there' is." she played clueless.
"Oh no, you can't do that! I saw you, you guys didn't even notice I came in." Teddy said pointing at her accusingly.
She sighed, "I don't know what would've happened. Had you given us a little more time I probably would."
"Ew! Now my mind is getting ideas." Teddy said with a disgusted body shutter.
"Ugh! You two are annoying." Arizona exasperated putting her head ín her hands. "And did you have to act like that?"
"Like what?"
"With your judgemental glare."
"I dont know her, she could be anyone. I'm trying to look out for you."
Arizona just let out another sigh.
"How did it go with meeting her family tonight." Teddy asked.
"It was just her sister and best friend, but it went good. They were nice, I think they like me."
"Ah, I see. So this thing the two of you are doing is actually going somewhere."
"Yeah it is, and why do you and mom keep calling it a 'thing'. It's called dating, we're getting to know one another." she was getting a little tired of explaining that to them.
"You were sure going to get to know each other in a different way just now." Teddy couldn't help herself.
"Make it stop!" Arizona's dramatic moan was muffled in one of the couch pillows she slapped herself with.
Friday
"I've been meaning to ask you, when do they think the apartment will be ready again?"
"They said two more weeks at least. You trying to get rid of me?"
"No!" that didn't come out as convincingly as Arizona would've wanted. "No, I just was wondering when my baby brother would have his own place." Wednesday's incident made her realize she didn't want reoccurences of that.
"You're only two years older, I am a man."
"You feeling the need to confirm it kinda says otherwise."
"Shut up. So when is the hot chick coming over again." He asked it with a tone Arizona knew too well.
"The ''hot chick' has a name first off, it's Callie. And find your own." giving him a slap.
"Well when do I get meet her properly? I have to make sure she's good enough for my sis."
"I need to get you and Teddy laid. Maybe you'd stop meddling in my life." it came off jokingly but she was seriously considering it.
"I'll have you know, that part of my life is very content."
"Who's content with what?" Teddy just walked through the door.
"I am really contemplating taking everyone's keys." Arizona grumbled.
"What was that?" Tim asked.
"Nothing. We ready to go?" she looked up at Teddy.
"Maybe you're the one who needs to get laid." She heard Tim but chose to ignore it. Truth be told she was a bit cranky.
"When I get back my car there better not be any of your 'modifications'. Just fix the problem and that's it. Got me?" he grumbled a response. "Tim I'm serious." she went to leave this morning but her car wouldn't start and she was running late already so she called Teddy.
"Fine."
"Let's go before you bite off any heads." Teddy led them out through the door.
As they were pulling up Callie happened to have just been walking through the entrance of the school building.
"So you and P.E. teacher..."
"Her name is Callie."
Teddy sighed. "You know, you thought the same about Shay, you said it was going somewhere with her too, and look what happened. I mean, are you..."
"I'm sure." Arizona cut her off before she could finish in a harsh tone. The look in her eyes told Teddy the conversation was over.
She got out and walked to catch up to Callie who slowed her pace.
"We almost had sex on Wednesday."
Aria raised her eyebrows. "Almost?"
"I went up to her apartment when I dropped her home. We started kissing then we ended up on the couch, but her brother came home earlier than she thought. He didn't see us though, I think. Well he saw us, he didn't see what we were doing." Callie rambled a bit.
"So you left?" Aria asked trying to keep up.
"We started again when he went to his room, but then her bestfriend came over and caught us. We didn't notice she was there till she yelled. I don't think she likes me."
Laughter erupted from Aria. "Wait, so she walked in on the two of you naked? On the couch."
"No! Aria no." Callie threw a pillow that missed her face. "It didn't get that far, we were still wearing clothes."
"Hm, so what if no one walked in."
"I don't know, we probably would've slept together." she said reflectively.
"Did the two of you talk about it?"
"No, it's not awkward and we're not pretending it didn't happen, but I don't really know how to bring it up, do we have to talk about it?"
"I can't make that decision for the two of you Cal, but you should probably talk about how the both of you feel about sex with one another. Then their wouldn't be any doubts next time." Aria offered.
"We have a date tomorrow. I'm cooking for her."
"She's coming here?"
"Yeah, for dinner."
"I won't be home." Aria whined. She wanted a front row seat to watching her smitten sister, but she an event for work.
"I know, which is why I chose tomorrow. No prying ears."
"No fair." she pouted
"I called Tìa." Callie said changing the subject to what she knew Aria was probably going to bring up next.
"How did that go?"
Callie sighed. "She brought it up again and I told her didn't want to talk about it." This was something her aunt was trying to persuade her to do for a while. "Thank you for telling her about Arizona by the way, I had to deal with her excited rant for twenty minutes before she let me go."
"I couldn't help it." Aria shrugged. "And maybe you should consider it." she knew her sister wouldn't budge that easily.
"Could we talk about something else?" She really didn't want to think about it.
Aria decided she wouldn't push for now. "You said her friend, Teddy doesn't like you. How do you know?"
"Yesterday I saw her drop off Arizona. She was giving me the same death glare from Wednesday. Arizona said not to worry about it but I want to at least have her friend's approval." Then a thought crossed her mind, "Imagine meeting her parents. I am doomed."
"You didn't meet in the most traditional way, maybe once you guys get a chance to be introduced officially she'll start to warm up."
Callie thought it went deeper than that, but she chose to convince herself that her brain exaggerated it.
"You and the guy from Wednesday going on a date?" It was Callie's turn to invade.
"How did you know?"
"I didn't, but your answer just told me." She laughed when she got a glare.
Sunday Evening
"Shoes. Where are my shoes?" Arizona said in mild panic. "I swear they only go missing when I need them." then she looked up at the dog watching her with what she could've sworn was a smirk. "If I find out you had anything to do with this so help me... oh here they are!"
"Did you check under your bed where you put everything else that goes missing." Callie suggested in a hurry to get Aria out before Arizona came.
"I told you I checked there already. Stop rushing me."
"Well look somewhere else, but you have to be out of here in fives minutes."
Aria tried one more place. "I got them! Now I can leave before you have a stroke." she said walking out from the closet.
"Good."
"Alright. This is good. Right Pop?" she got a tilted head from the dog in response.
"Maybe I should wear something a little more breathable." Arizona said making her fifth wardrobe change.
"Candles, plates, spoons, fork, champagne, food..." Callie was doing her checklist for the table. "Food. I forgot the food. How could I forget the food." she headed back in the kitchen to bring it out.
"You like?" she was back in outfit number one.
The dog barked.
"I take that as a yes." she smiled.
After feeding Pop she finally left through the door.
Date Time
"Hey."
"Hi, come in." Callie said opening the door wider.
"Wow, this is beautiful." Arizona said looking around at the set up. "And the food looks great."
"Thank you." She smiled pulling out the chair for her.
"You really cooked up a storm. You did all this yourself?"
"Yup. Cooking is kinda one of my hobbies."
"I'd probably burn down my apartment trying to cook anything more advanced that Mac and cheese." Callie laughed at her.
"Really? We can cook something together some time. Teach you a couple things."
"That'd be fun. I remember I actually did almost burnt the house when I was eleven. I was making noodles and somehow it didn't click that I'd need to put water in with them."
"You really aren't cut out for cooking." Callie laughed.
"Yeah, my mom was so mad. After that she tried letting me help in the kitchen so I'd learn but I think she just gave up."
"Don't worry, I'll give you a some lessons when you come over again." Callie said reaching across to wipe some food on the side of Arizona's lip without much thought.
"She wants me to come over again." Arizona thought about it, she said it so naturally as if it was obvious there'd be more dinner dates and time spent at each other's home. And she loved that thought.
"Um, about Wednesday."
Here goes the scenario Arizona envisioned in her head. The one where Callie would apologize and say she didn't actually want to kiss her.
"I should apologise to Teddy. I don't think she appreciated our first encounter, I probably owe one to Tim too. Maybe we could all have dinner together some time so we could meet properly."
Arizona released a sigh of relief though up. She expected the it's not you it's me thing, but it didn't come. Callie's concern wasn't with the new level of intimacy they reached.
"No, you don't have to do that."
"I want to. Maybe I gave her the wrong impression about me but I don't think she likes me. I should have the approval of your best friend." Callie wanted to be on the right foot if she wanted to take this relationship further.
Arizona's stomach tightened. This was the intimidating overprotectiveness she was talking about.
"That's just her way of looking out. She'll warm up."
"So you'll let me make dinner?"
"Sure, I'll tell them about it." Arizona smiled at the fact that Callie cared enough about the approval of the people close to her.
"I wanted to talk about something else." Callie looked up into her eyes silently trying to tell her it wasn't bad.
"Go ahead." Arizona gestured for her to continue.
"Are you...how...how did..." Callie sighed frustrated with not knowing how to say what was on her mind.
"Take your time." Arizona said patiently although internally her mind was going a mile a minute.
"I feel like this relationship is going somewhere that I like. I'm not putting any pressure to do anything, just so you know. I just want to know where we are at on it. I'm only asking because we haven't talked about this yet and..." her nervous ramble was cut off.
"Callie! Just say it." Arizona prompted. It was putting her on edge anticipating what Callie was trying to say.
She took a deep breath. "Um, how do you feel about sex? With me. Together."
Just as Arizona was about to open her mouth, another short ramble came.
"Not that I'm in any rush to get there. It's just, Wednesday night probably would've went farther if we weren't interupted, and we never had conversations about it in full. Are we there yet?...Are we ready to be there?"
What their kissing would've led to played in Arizona's head since that night. "I like where this relationship is going too." She reached across planting a kiss on plump lips. "And how about we just let it happen, there's no time limit to having sex. No pressure is coming from my end either, if it leads there we'll go with it. That sound good?" Arizona asked in an easy tone.
Callie nodded. "Sounds good.
Arizona smiled. "Oh! And by the way, ignore any attempts from Tim at hitting on you."
"Well, incase you didn't know, he's not my type. The female species is more of my thing." It held a flirtatious wind to it.
"Good to know." Arizona saw what she thought was lust behind the brown eyes, but it was only for a second.
"What was your coming out story like?" she asked channeling her interest.
"My mom picked me up from a party when I was sixteen and came just in time to see us kiss. We were friends and had all these feelings and just wanted to see what it'd be like. The car ride home was pretty awkward. There wasn't really much of a conversation about it afterward. When I actually started calling her my girlfriend, I think they realised it was probably more than an experiment. They kinda just accepted, it wasn't a big deal. I was honestly ready for my Dad to make me sleep outside that day. I don't know if that's considered a coming out story though."
"Why wouldn't it be?" Callie raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know." she shrugged. "I guess when I hear coming out story I usually think of a little sit down conversation around a table."
Callie chuckled huff. "A lot stuff usually isn't that simple." she continued. "Their isn't really an ideal coming out story."
"That is true." Arizona reasoned. "Why don't I take out our dishes." she said wiping her mouth.
"I'll come help." they got up.
"Ya know Ms. Torres, if you weren't so good at the teaching thing, opening restaurant wouldn't be a bad idea." the blonde teased.
"Really? I'm glad you enjoyed it that much."
"I did." Arizona said as she leaned in for a kiss.
It's intent was to be a peck, but it deepened, it came like water after a mile run. Longed for.
Hips binded together fighting for dominance. Their eyes locked for a second only for one to give a nod of consent.
A flash crossed her mind. "Wait..." Arizona panted out remembering what happened the last time things got this far.
Callie's eyes reflected a feeling of rejection before the blonde continued.
"Your sister."
"She won't be home for a while." continuing her trail of kisses down the exposed neck.
"Wait..." bodies slightly broken apart again. "Should we move to somewhere more comfortable?" In a hast, almost knocking down everything in their path, never completely losing contact, they made their way into the bedroom dim lit by the hallway light.
Clothes were shed quickly with no hesitation. Apparent sexual tension letting itself free. Soft moans passed lips occasionally, the skin to skin contact on its own sending pleasurable waves through their bodies.
"Calliope..." it barely came out. "I- I need more." her hands pressed to the tan spine of the burnette making her way down a contracting torso.
A small gasp was released at the destination of Callie's tongue.
They made slow love to one another, savoring each moment and taking full advantage at getting to explore the new territory they were adventuring.
Somewhere in the night they fell asleep with quenched desire. Their bodies fit together like matched puzzle pieces.
*Author's Note*
I probably owe y'all another chapter by the end of this week for having you wait. Things have been a bit tough recently, but I'm trying to be more consistent.
The relationship goes a step further this chapter (hope it didn't seem to come too soon) and there's also a bit of how Arizona's side feels about her dating Callie.
I have a question, I've tried to leave it up to everyone's own imagination of the character's appearance apart from a couple things, but I was wondering if you prefer more description.
