Chapter 32: Mrs. Stevens

She had been a doctor for years. She went to medical school, and earned her degree in pediatrics. She saw so many bright faces and earnest eyes throughout her years practicing.

She loved the bright eyes of the children, loved the sound of their laughter as they showed her their toys and stuffed animals, and found it to be a fun and rewarding job.

That was until the apocalypse happened and she and her three children drove away from their house after her husband tried to attack her.

Her youngest, age three, was scared and needed so much. Her two oldest, aged eight and ten, did all they could. But you could tell the two girls were scared for their mom and their little brother.

By the time she came to Woodbury, her youngest was dead, having developed the flu and died due to lack of medicine. She had buried him in an unmarked grave and attempted to keep it away from her girls. However, they too fell sick and made it to Woodbury with her, only to die a few weeks later.

As Mrs. Keisha Stevens grieved over her dead children, Philip turned to her. He had been watching her and had come to pay his respects. He never liked seeing dead children.

"Do you want to help me? Become a doctor and help those who are alive." With those words, he set the role for her new life.

As she stared down the barrel of his gun, she stared defiantly until the end. She would not let Philip destroy her spirit.
