Now we learn which goddess Percy is meeting! Enjoy.
Undeath9087: Oh they won't be impressed when they find out I can promise you that. And it will be interesting I promise.
Zephyr0f8: Heh, I hope I didn't leave you waiting for too long. It's going to be entertaining to see reactions to what I've got planned.
Georgia: Yes, yes I did.
Guest: I get where you're coming from though I will point out that Percy simply didn't have enough time to use her demigod powers before the sedative effect of the drugs kicked in. She is 100% a powerhouse but she was caught off guard. Alina doesn't know she's Greek. And neither does Luke or Kronos at this stage. Someone on Kronos' side does know but he's got his own schemes :)

Percy dreamed, and she knew it was a dream in the way that she always knew. And she could also tell that it wasn't exactly a normal dream. It was the type of dream that Percy hated. The type that had some kind of message in it.

And it was strange. Percy's head felt kind of fuzzy- she- what had she been doing? Something didn't feel right but she couldn't place it. Every time she tried to grasp it it slipped away like smoke.

She bit her lip, shaking her head slowly. If it was important she'd remember soon enough. She'd probably just gone to bed after- there had been... a dance? Yeah she was pretty sure there was supposed to be a school dance? She'd probably gotten home late after that and was too tired to remember much.

With that concern mentally fired away for now Percy focused on her current situation, blinking as she looked around slowly.

The room she was in was dark, the only light coming from the sole window. An attic Percy decided. The warm air smelled like mildew and rotten wood and... and something else- something familiar that made Percy's stomach churn.

The room smelled like snakes. She closed her eyes, letting out a slow breath, trying to soothe herself. And once she was calm enough she looked around.

The attic was filled with Greek hero junk: armor stands covered in cobwebs; once-bright shields pitted with rust; old leather steamer trunks plastered with stickers saying ITHAKA, CIRCE'S ISLE, and LAND OF THE AMAZONS. One long table was stacked with glass jars filled with pickled things—severed hairy claws, huge yellow eyes, various other parts of monsters. A dusty mounted trophy on the wall looked like a giant snake's head, but with horns and a full set of shark's teeth. The plaque read, HYDRA HEAD #1, WOODSTOCK, N.Y., 1969.

By the window, sitting on a wooden tripod stool, was the most gruesome memento of all: a mummy. Not the wrapped-in-cloth kind that Percy was used to, but a human female body shrivelled to a husk. Which no matter how many times she'd seen similar, would always be gross to look at. She wore a tie-dyed sundress, lots of beaded necklaces, and a headband over long black hair. The skin of her face was thin and leathery over her skull, and her eyes were glassy white slits, as if the real eyes had been replaced by marbles; she'd been dead a long, long time.

And then those glassy white eyes moved, the head almost creaking as it turned to look towards Percy, a green mist curling from the mummy's mouth and coiling over the floor in thick tendrils, hissing like twenty thousand snakes.

Percy didn't scream, but she did tense, clenching her fists tightly as she heard a voice slithering inside of her head. "I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach, seeker, and ask."

Ah. And the Oracle was at Annabeth's camp. Which meant that Percy was dreaming of being in the Big House. And she got the feeling that whilst yes, she was dreaming, it was also in some way really happening at the same time. "Great." she muttered the word, walking towards it slowly, eyes narrowing as she took in the mummy. "Okay. Give me the prophecy then. What do you need me to do this time?"

The mist swirled more thickly, collecting right in front of her, and suddenly it was taking a form.

And it took every fibre of Percy's self restraint not to lash out violently as it took a familiar writhing coiling form- much smaller than the last time Percy had seen it but painfully familiar.

A coiling red serpent, Apophis, just in miniature, roughly the same size as Percy.

And it spoke in hissing tones.

"Twins taken by the traitors heir,

a choice one will make, a burden to bear,

the other to flee with the thief and the princess,

To retrieve the weapon of the one who was timeless,

And return to face the foes and vengeance bring

the revival delayed by the phrophecised's swing." then the voice went silent and Percy blinked, staring at the mummy as she took it all in.

She didn't understand even half of it right now. She would eventually she was sure. When she woke up maybe.

"Any chance of a hint?" Percy grumbled the words, not expecting anything.

So she was startled to see the mist that had been shaped to form Apophis changing, becoming two glowing figures, gold and silver- there were flashes, one with a group of smaller silver blobs, leaving them behind, the golden blob appearing and chasing after the silver- and they became clearer.

The golden blob turned into a glowing man with golden hair and tanned skin, handsome too. And familiar, she'd seen him once before, on the train. And the silver blob changed too- into a pretty girl, perhaps around Percy's age, long silky black hair, a bow slung over her shoulder, both looking for something. She was familiar too, for the same reason.

Then a trap, chains binding the two gods wrists and ankles and there was a chest in front of them, and the glow was sucked from the silver figure, causing her to collapse to her knees, the golden one fighting his restraints to try and get to her.

And then things shifted again- another figure- unclear this time towered over Artemis, a blade held over her head- and the golden figure- Apollo Percy was certain slumped in his chains, nodding- and suddenly he was beside a man who was holding something above his head. And Percy watched him take the weight from the shrouded man, who stepped out from under the weight, standing tall.

Percy didn't understand it all- oh she understood some of it. Artemis and Apollo would be captured- might already be captured for all Percy knew, and... Artemis had lost her glow. That, that didn't feel comforting. It looked almost like something had stolen her divinity. Which... was possible. Theoretically, there could be spells that could do that but Percy had never seen or heard of anyone doing it. It was one thing to seal a god away, another to actually steal their divinity from them. Only an incredibly skilled magician would be able to create a spell like that, and there weren't many that could cast such a spell if it did exist.

And who had the other figure been, what had Apollo done to protect his sister.

None of it was clear in Percy's mind. Though she was sure it would become clear when the time came for her to actually deal with it all.

Then the dream faded, slipping away and Percy could feel the more peaceful sleep flowing over her, except there was still something not quite right. A heaviness. Percy wanted to wake up, to deal with whatever the dream had been about, to help Artemis and Apollo. But she couldn't seem to push through the exhaustion into wakefulness. It was like trying to swim through treacle.

And even as Percy struggled to wake it was slow- she seemed to drift in and out- a sure sign that something very very bad was going on.

And as she did drift in and out she caught glimpses, flashes of black granite walls, voices from the outside.

She didn't truly start coming around until someone joined her, she heard yelling as she started to surface from the sleep- and she knew she was truly waking this time not just drifting.

Then she heard a pained gasp, a thud as someone hit the ground, almost skidding to a halt a few foot away from her.

Then there was the sound of a door closing and Percy tried to focus.

She wasn't in a bed as she'd thought she would be. She was on a cold stone floor- her whole body was aching and heavy which was probably from the dru- Percy froze, the world dropping out from beneath her as everything came flooding back.

And oh but she wished it hadn't. She wished she could have stayed blissfully ignorant because the pain felt like it was tearing her chest out.

She curled into a tight ball, pressing her hand over her mouth to stifle the scream that wanted to fight its way out as tears poured from her eyes.

"Hello?" the voice was soft, almost concerned, "Who are you?" and Percy didn't want to answer. She just wanted to scream and scream and tear the world apart.

She wanted Desjardins. She wanted to feel his warm had squeezing her shoulder, reassuring her that it would be okay.

He'd died trying to save her.

"Leave me alone." her voice was hoarse, and she knew she sounded like a petulant child but she didn't care. All she knew was that it hurt. It hurt so much that it was damn near unbearable.

"You must be important-" the girls voice spoke again, "To be kept alive-"

"What part of leave me alone don't you get?" Percy uncurled slightly, pushing herself up onto her elbows and twisting to glare at the newcomer, noticing as she did that they were in a very dark room- no windows, just a single door, heavily barred and undoubtedly locked. Fucking wonderful.

And her gaze focused on the other resident of the- well, it was undoubtedly a cell.

It was a girl, she looked around the same age as Percy, perhaps a couple of years older. She was beautiful, long raven hair pulled back into a braid, her eyes were a silvery gray color. She must have been stripped of her weapons Percy realised, along with her divinity, because the girl in front of her wasn't a goddess. She was mortal, Percy could tell just by looking at her.

And she also knew instinctively that the girl in front of her was Artemis.

"We are stuck here together it seems. I want to know who I have been tossed into a cell with."

"What does it matter?" Percy grumbled the words, pulling her knees to her chest as she did, resting her chin on her knees. She needed more time. Time to process what had happened, time to grieve and come up with a plan to escape. She needed more info too.

Alina had mentioned working with Kronos. But she needed to find out more than that.

"It matters because we are stuck with one another for now." Artemis snapped the words, "And you are a petulant child-"

"Oh I'm sorry." Percy's gaze snapped to Artemis, fury flooding through her, "I am so sorry for being a bit fucking miserable and depressed after I watched someone I care about die trying to protect me from the psychotic daughter of the man who fucking kidnapped me when I was nine." she let out a frustrated snarl, twisting so that she could lash out with her foot, hitting the wall hard as she let out a yell.

Artemis, to give her credit where it was due, didn't flinch. She simply tilted her head, watching Percy. "The girl- Alina I believe her name was. She is the one who kidnapped you." there was a look of surprise in her eyes as she watched Percy carefully, "She used Egyptian Magic..."

"Yep." Percy pushed her hair back out of her face. "Yep she did. She drained your divinity didn't she? Gotta say I dunno what that means for you."

"She has my godhood locked in a chest." Artemis spat the words, a look of fury in her eyes, "A chest! She drained me of my powers." she paused, focusing on Percy again, "Tell me girl, are you a magician? I thought that the Per Anhk had faded a long time ago. I didn't know any of you were left, let alone any so powerful as this Alina girl."

Percy shifted so that she was leaning back against the wall. "The Per Anhk is still as strong as ever Lady Artemis. And if I had my magic right now I would show you what true power is."
